considered in action concerning what was confessed. You can believe something in your head but that doesn't

mean you believe it in your heart.

Hello Francis Your answer is because most people don't question what they've been taught or why do people

believe or do what they do they just go along with the crowd so to speak. When it comes to God and His Word

The queen of heaven the Israelites were worshipping was known to them as Astarte, Ashteroth, Asherah, or Ishtar. Originating in Sumer in the time of Nimrod, the queen of heaven was known as Inanna. When this idolatry traveled to Egypt after the Tower of Babel, she was known as Isis. Later, she was known as Eostre, (where we get our word Easter) Her festival was celebrated at the spring equinox. She was the goddess of fertility and of sexual love.

There also is the legend of that she was the mother or consort of Tammuz, who was "rebirthed" every December 25th. In Ezekiel 8:13-15, It is mentioned that the women were weeping for Tammuz. This is part of the way he was worshipped along with Ashtoreth. He was the sun-god, and she was the queen of heaven to rebirth him every year.

Gigi In my experience most people who don't believe in God or Jesus Christ do not believe in the devil

hell or judgement. The reason being is human error is not sin in their eyes its just man evolving from

one level consciousness to another or I just got to get better MY OWN WAY which leaves out sin and therefore

no saviour needed. By the way this is a lot of eastern thought I.E. Chi or Chai, but bottom line is worship

of self.

Thank you Adam, I agree. Adam and Eve had free will and they choose sin over obedience. God sought them out in the garden and dealt mercifully with them. They responded to His grace. Cain had free will in choosing to kill Abel. God sought him out and told him of his sin. Cain did not respond rightly to God's mercy. He moved away from God, physically (to Nod) and spiritually (to rebellion). He used his free will. We have the same free agency. We can resist God's offer of salvation and reject the grace He offers when He reaches out to us in the Word or someone's witness. The Holy Spirit is willing to save all, but does not force anyone to be saved. The Word states that those who believe the gospel will be saved.

This universalist doctrine has been around for many centuries and was refuted time and time again, being rejected as false doctrine. It is good to remind those who promote it that it is contrary to Scripture and what most Christians believe. Cults usually form around such teachings that centralize one teaching while ignoring the full counsel of Scripture. I think the same is done in this matter by those who hold to universalist doctrine.

Thanks for a telling post! In your life you have gone down alleyways I never visited, as I know that God put a hedge around me when I was young and a believer. But your testimony reminds us all of those who have been exposed to deep evil that captures and enslaves people, even against their "knowing" how bad it is. Our country is becoming more and more occultic, joining the millions in other countries that follow pagan practices. This pat is very destructive and "dehumanizing" way to live. Dehumanizing because it draws us further away from how God wants us to live in Him, which is our true identity. So, perhaps you are prompting many of us here to spend more of our time prayerfully. I am so glad that God can reach people no matter how deep they are in wicked things. He gave you a vision and a scripture. that is so lovely!

It is interesting the way He works. He gave you a glimpse of Himself and that changed you. I had a vision in January 2000 of Jesus. He was also dressed in white, but His whole body shone with such intense holy light that it went right through me in a way that was very painful. I knew I was sinful compared to Him. I asked Him "Lord, I am yours, why can't I stand before You?" He replied, "I am the Holy and you are flesh and blood in a carnal body. My holiness puts to death carnal flesh. That is why my holy light brought you to your knees." I then, once again, confessed myself a sinner in need of His righteousness. Though I had been a believer all of my life, this event changed me in an instant. I never shared this before. But it seemed appropriate to add this in response to your post. I do not seek such experiences. But the Lord thought I needed that vision. I am thankful and have a more profound view of Jesus than ever before.

Jeanie, the responses so far are good and should help you. Like Mishael stated, idolaters would put permanent marks on their bodies in worship and identification with an idol. Also, God put a mark on Cain to keep others from killing him. In Revelation, people will be compelled to take the mark of the anti-christ. So, my take is, if God does not put the mark on you, don't let anyone else put one on you.

I hear you on this. Many unbelievers are in a state of despair because the Holy Spirit is convicting them of their sins. these people are in need of earing the gospel, having been readied to receive it. Other unbelievers are stubbornly arrogant, flaunting their sin defiantly before God and men. These people need to hear of the judgment of hell and the gospel. Believers should pray for discernment when addressing unbelievers in spiritual conversations to know how what to reveal to them.

It is sad that some believers live in fear of falling into sin and then being hell-bound as a result. They have been taught incorrectly. Our call is to correct those wo are weak gently and speak words that will restore them to confidence in the finished work of Jesus on their behalf. Believers caught in the snares of ongoing sin need support and assistance in avoiding situations that cause them to sin, alternative spiritually healthy activities to replace that sinful activity, prayer, and guidance from a more mature believer.

Jesus says all the law and the prophets are fulfilled in THIS to love God with all our hearts and our neighbors as our selves.

Alex, the "liberty" you take in interweaving your particular mindset with Scripture is very concerning. I find it to be misusing Scripture. The Holy Spirit does not come into being in us. He as always existed wit the Father and the Son for all eternity. What is birthed in us is new spiritual life that is initiated by the hearing and reception of the gospel by of the Holy Spirit. He then comes to dwell in us through this new spiritual nature (that is holy and righteous). Most of the other things you have stated are garbled false teachings, in my opinion. Not meaning to be overly critical of you, but I know that there is really no end to false ideas that can be stirred up in someone's mind once they step away from sound teachings. It is spiritually dangerous to do this, so I warn you here, in love.

You are familiar with our sorrows and afflictions. Please bring complete healing to Deanna. I her up to you along with David and Kristie. They all need your help today. Thanks Adam, This is such a good statement on this subject. There are millions and millions of believers across the centuries who accept what Scriptures say about the tormenting judgment of hell for unbelievers. therefore the urgency for people to repent an believe the gospel. We who believe have tasted the goodness of God trough His mercy, grace, and love poured out on us by the Holy Spirit from the start of our rebirth. We now view our sinfulness differently, seeing what it should "earn" us--hell-torment and eternal separation from the one and only wonderful God who loves us. We would not know goodness if it was not for God, nor love, nor kindness, nor any truly good that we receive. Unbelievers are deceived to think that they can possess such things apart from God, not acknowledging Him in the blessings they enjoy despite being is enemy. We who believe have lain aside our self-will and self-agrandizement (sp) to pursue God and His will and glory. We are now being who God made us to be-His creature turned to Him with our hands out to receive all things needed for life and salvation with the praise of our lips rising to Him in gratitude.

God has placed us both in the place and times He has ordained to be His witness to others that "cross" our paths. I go to Goodwill often. I rarely buy something at a "first hand store". I know that purchasing a thrift store helps charities. My son graduated from culinary arts school and works at a resort restaurant. He is picking up some good cookware from Goodwill for is craft. He lives with us and we cook a lot together. It is a good connection for us, He was the most openly rebellious of our three sons, but he has always been kind and soft hearted. It is good tat we have this together before he once again tries to make it on his own. All of my sons have needed to move back home for a time as adults. We don't mind. God has blessed us with a home that can accommodate them. My oldest just got married at 37. So, he and his wife are making their own home life. The one now living with us is 34, and our youngest is 31. They both need a good wife. I keep praying for God to send the "best fit" woman to them. In today's world, it is difficult to find people who remain married for decades. We will have our 42nd anniversary this month. We are thankful!
