Nehemiah 10:31 shows that an ancient interpretation of the Sabbath means you should not be buying or selling.

Nehemiah 10:31: And if the people of the land bring ware or any victuals on the sabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the seventh year, and the exaction of every debt.

Jesus will return as a thief in the night.

1 Thessalonians 5:2: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

When Jesus returns, He will judge. It makes sense that He will judge base on the Statutes, Laws, and Commandments of God.

Revelation 19:11: And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

This suggests that if you are breaking the Holy Sabbath Laws, you will be judged by Jesus.

Perhaps you should determine what the Sabbath is based on The Word of God and not on your personal feelings. After you do that look at the "old" World before colonization, Africa and the Middle East, and find out what day they considered to be the Sabbath Day. Then make your own decision.

It good when you read the Bible and move by the mystery that works in it.

As I read this Isaiah 6 I believe that my sin are forgiven because I believe that the hand of God has touched my heart and mouth, and the mystery of touching their mouths was because the cry holy holy is the Lord of host,so acknowledge God as I am that I am then that is the point that you too will touch the hearts of God for cleansing

Hi William, I understand what you are getting at. Jesus and Paul always said that the Law is good and holy. We should think of it that way, too. Like David, believers should love the commandments of God. To us they are a guide and a check, they are helpful to us in these ways. We no longer will receive the curse of breaking the Law, because of Christ's we redemptive work for us. As Christians we should not have animus against the Law; it shows us how righteous God is. Instead we should have animus against sin and all evil, hating it enough to want to be rid of it in us every time we are convinced of it in us by the Spirit. This animus should press us to confess and repent.

We here all know that we cannot have victory over sin without God's power and righteousness given to us at conversion.

So, we are not obeying the commands of God to earn our salvation. We already have it. We obey His commands because we are now righteous in Christ.

i see no conflict with a believer abiding by the 10 commandments. Like you said, Jesus said we are to obey His commandments. I do have a problem with a believer living a lifestyle of disobedience of these commandments, because it shows that they do not love God or desire to imitate Christ.

God values human life more than animal life, but animals must be treated with mercy and respect.

Please read the following Bible verses:

    Matthew 6:26

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

    Luke 12:6

Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

    Proverbs 12:10

A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel."

So killing a pet is troublesome because it suggests that the animal has shown kindness to the owner.

Yes, bro Dan, Adam and Eve had a commandment from God not to eat of this certain tree. They disobeyed God's command. That was their sin according to the Law of His command. They also sinned by doubting that what God said about dying was true. They did not have a command on this, but sinned apart from the Law (His command). So, they sinned according to the "Law" and apart from the "Law". Jesus obeyed according to the Law and apart from the Law in all things. Therefore, He was able to cover the sins of both ways that Adam and Eve sinned, and all men, as well.

To the person who said God gave a new commandment to love your neighbor. That is NOT A NEW COMMANDMENT.

    OLD TESTAMENT:

"but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord."

    Leviticus 19:18

Jesus came to FULFILL the LAW! NOT DESTROY IT.

Jesus Christ kept every commandment and did not sin once. If Christ is in us we do NOT continually DISOBEY.

"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning."

    1 John 2:3-4, 7 KJV

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."

    1 John 3:4-8 KJV

    Dear William, Chris, and Rick,

It is interesting to read these responses because even though you seem to disagree, I think you all do agree. In Crist we are finally free to live as God would call us to live. Therefore, by the power of God's grace given through the Spirit in us, we can obey God in ways higher than even the good and holy Law (10 commandments). Therefore, we can follow what is said in Titus 2:11-14.

"For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works."

This verse tells us that grace trains us to do what is truly godly in God's eyes. So, we will not murder or hate, but love; we will not be sexually immoral or lust, but faithfully fulfill the needs of our spouse; we will not make graven images as idols nor worship self, but we will be devoted to God above all else; we will not lie and or be deceptive, but we will be honest and true to what we profess. So, by the Spirit we will obey the 10 commandments as a way of life, and then some, because we have been made a new creature in Christ, not longer a slave to sinful desires, but are free to be obedient to God's will. We will sin against God's will at times. Most ways that we sin will be found in the spirit and not just the letter of the 10 commands of God. But, praise God, we will not be captured again by sin as before we were saved! We can confess and be forgiven. We have a power in us that is not of us that makes us stronger than the evil desires we are tempted with. We will increasingly have victory over sin. As we are changed bit by bit to be more and more like Jesus. The Law does not save us, only Jesus does.

    Bro Earl,

You are incorrect to say there was no law. God's word is the law. God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat of the tree of good and evil. He commanded them just like he commands to us to keep his laws in the ten Commandments; Do not kill, do not murder etc. these commands are his laws. There is no difference.

    Genesis 2:16

"And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:"

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Hopefully, this confirms that Adam and Eve broke God's command/law.

    God Bless.

    Brother Earl,

You said it was unbelief that caused the fall of Adam and Eve, but it doesn't say that in the Bible. The Bible already tells us exactly what they did wrong, so there is no mystery and no guessing. The answer is in this verse...

    Genesis 3:17

"And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;"

God's response is in the format of: "Because" [you did this] ... [this is the consequence]

God gave Adam and Eve a command, they disobeyed that command, and they received the consequences. It was not unbelief. You said they didn't believe God's command, but it doesn't say that in the Bible. Maybe that was just an assumption on your part? I believe that they believed God's command, and they chose to disobey anyway.

Have you ever had a child disobey you? Is their motive 100% of the time for disobeying a child's unbelief?

    God bless...

    Hi Brother William,

Amen. You are speaking truth. Many so called christians today do not want to be submissive and obedient to God. They twist/divide/manipulate/ignore bible scripture in such a way, that they fool themselves, and even worse, bring down many others. They are convinced that they can live their worldly sinful lives and still achieve salvation.

You rightly listed one of the most powerful little verses spoken by Jesus in the entire bible: John 14:15 If we love Jesus we will keep his commandments.

Many people are so blinded, they feel justified in outright ignoring this scripture! Well I believe that Jesus will also be justified in ignoring them! And he tell us that he will - in this easy to understand scripture here:

    Matthew 7:22-23

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

If we continue to follow Jesus, love him, and keep his commandments we will always have a lighted path, and he will know us!

    God Bless.

NO ONE CAN BELIEVE OF THEMSELVES

    Philippians 1:29 For unto to you IT IS GIVEN on the behalf of Christ, not only TO BELIEVE on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

1 Peter 1:21 WHO BY HIM DO BELIEVE in GOD, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

When we look at the world, we see, most don't believe in God; there is a reason, CHRIST hasn't YET CAUSED THEM TO BELIEVE.

Romans 11:31 Even so have these also now NOT BELIEVED, that through YOUR MERCY they also shall OBTAIN MERCY.

Romans 11:32 For God hath concluded them ALL IN UNBELIEF, that he might have mercy ON ALL.

Christ is ONLY at present calling out a FEW to be PRIEST in his kingdom, on earth and TO JUDGE and PREACH his gospel to all nations, when they are resurrected back to their bodies of flesh.

The called out will have glorified bodies.

Those resurrected back will have flesh and blood bodies, this is there punishment, they will be in torment seeing their GOVERNORS, glorified, and they, flesh and blood, and under SUBJECTION.

    Jeremiah 51:19-23

Revelation 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship at thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

Hi Sheila One of the greatest characteristics of Davids walk was anytime he went to battle was Gods man and

God told Him He God would establish His throne because out of David came the Kingly side of the Christ line.

He took a bunch of beaten renegades and God chose him to lead and take the heathen or pagans and wipe out

idolatrous practices. You will read constantly where David ask God should I go, or will we conquer, or how should

I do this or what should I say, and even when Saul Tried to Kill Him David never raised a hand against Gods elect even

when Saul wasn't walking. No wonder God called David a man after His Own Heart. Think about this he said that

after David committed murder and adultery! After the prophet Nathan corrected David, David repented and was forgiven

and the consequences was loss of child. Then His next Son is Solomon remarkable, this man was a man after Gods

    own heart!

Hi Douglas Biblically the number 3 represents complete, i.e. God, Jesus Christ, Holy Spirit, or Trinity.

man body soul spirit, adversaries workings steal kill destroy, Jesus Christ raised from the dead third Day,

these are a few. Now the number six represents man who is in his un redeemed state totally incomplete,

so therefore all the works of man are incomplete. When you put the two together you have complete

imperfection which is what the beast is going to rise up and represent total imperfection. The term beast

basically means wild and uncontrollable sounds like man in a depraved state without God. So this term

is a system that is going to rise up headed by the adversary to rule the world systems. I'd focus more on

the greatness of what we have in Christ jesus after confessing Romans 10:9+10 if you haven't done that yet.

Look up E.W. bullingers number in Scripture remarkable piece of biblical research. Way

    ahead of his Time.

    Brother William:

Disregard of the law WAS NOT what brought Adam and EVE down. There was no law, at that time.

What brought Adam and Eve down was; UNBELIEF.

They didn't believe what God said; EAT and YE SHALL DIE, the same problem brings man down today, they believe in God, but don't believe what God says.

Christ blood PAID for EVERY SIN, except one; UNBELIEF.

Behold the LAMB of GOD who is come to TAKE AWAY the SIN (singular) of the world; UNBELIEF.

The wages of sin (unbelief) is death; the wages of belief is LIFE.

    God Bless You.

What is said about a Christian asking a person to kill a pet animal In the Bible?

    Thank you
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 4 years ago
Amen and Amen Brother Alex, Christ blood PAID for man's sins and CHRIST's RESURRECTION saves man from DEATH and the GRAVE.

The WAGES of SIN is DEATH.

Since Adam, man has been separated from God by DEATH, Christ defeated death with his resurrection.

He calling out a PRIESTHOOD, NOW to judge the dead, at their resurrection, and bring the KNOWLEDGE of the gospel to the billions now in the grave.

Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

    God Bless You

Hiya Chris lemme give ya this one little scripture Luke 7 : 39 When Jesus was in the house of Simon the

leper Simon said if this man were a prophet he wd know what manner of woman this is that touches him but

Jesus knowing their hearts said he and Mary were like 2 debtors 1 owed 50 and 1 owed 500 but my point is

he forgave both Mary and Simon their spritual debts and Simon didn't even believe Jesus was a man of God .

But here is my point we are all like debtors the whole world thus he wd have to forgive the whole world or he wd

be a hypocrite he cd not teach us to forgive our debtors if he did not forgive ALL HIS DEBTORS, HUMANITY EVERYBODY

We are all debtors but he paid everybody's sin debt that ever lived ,And if you donot believe this then you go right back

to Calvanism limited Atonement . which in essence is saying he only died for a few, oK THATS ALL I WANTED TO SAY.

    GBU Chris love ya chris.

Chris i hear ya but its what Jesus did at Calvary that saves us not our conduct as all our righteousness is filthy rags . The blood is applied to every person that hears the Gospel the living word as Jesus was the living word made flesh and blood , the H.G. IS GIVEN TO THEM THAT HEAR THE WORD, his breath etc It wd make our Lord a hypocrite if he applied the curse of ADAM TO EVERY MAN no exceptions BUT NOT APPLY THE blood of Christ to everyman . As he said if i be lifted up i will draw all men unto me Thank you for your input Christ

Our lord tells us our relationship with him is as a marriage which is a 24/7 relationship . When they asked John about Christ and his disciples John replied he that has the bride is the bridegoom which is a 24/7 relationship . And Jesus said it was like a branch that is growing in a Tree but if the branch falls away it will die , It has to abide in the tree forever or it will die. Abide in me and in you means 24/7 not 1 day a week . As the disciples abode with Christ 24/7 not 1 day a week . This new covenant is not a Sunday go to meeting covenant but a marriage covenant. and a kingdom Covenant. Behold the lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world. John said he saw the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven as a Bride adorned for her husband.

Great post for today, Saturday, the Holy Sabbath Day.

You listed some great questions. I will let others weigh in on providing some answers. I will add to this discussion by posting my reasons why I believe and observe the Sabbath Day.

    1. God commands us to keep the Sabbath

    2. The Holy Sabbath is God's sign to His People

    3. Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath

    4. Jesus Kept the Sabbath

    5. We should obey God rather than men

    6. The apostles and the first century church kept the Sabbath

    7. The Sabbath reminds us of who our creator is

    8. The Sabbath provides us with mental and physical rest

    9. The Sabbath helps to deepen our faith

    10. The Sabbath strengthens our relationships, with family, and brethren

    11. The Sabbath brings us closer to God

    12. The Sabbath provides dedicated time to draw closer to God.

    13. The Sabbath provides us additional blessings from God

    14. When we observe the Sabbath we also let our working animals rest on this day

    15. The Sabbath reminds us to help others

    16. The Sabbath reminds us to not be a part of this world!

    17. When we observe the Sabbath we show God that we are submissive and obedient to HIM.

    18. We observe the Sabbath because we LOVE Jesus/God!

The Holy Sabbath Day is a wonderful gift from God to us. Even Jesus tells us he is the Lord of the Sabbath. He wouldn't want to be Lord of something that is not good!

Happy Sabbath Day, and God Bless.
  • David - In Reply - 4 years ago
Hi Mishael God solved the sabbath with Jesus Christ being complete in him and walking via the spirit

24/7 which is His Fathers and or Fathers original intent. No argument just scripture also in Mathew 22:36-40

on these two hang all the laws and the prophets! Again God makes it easy.
