John 1:18: "No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him." Would this be a declaration of Jesus' pre-incarnate Being in Heaven & then sent forth to the Earth as God's only begotten Son in the flesh?

But to find the words: 'Jesus born in Bethlehem was first with God in Heaven' isn't given except the Scriptures I've given earlier. So are you saying that the Jesus on Earth was never the Word of God in Heaven simply because there's no word-for-word depiction of this Truth? Or maybe, I've misunderstood you altogether.
  • The Baptism of the Holy SpiritWhat to Expect - In Reply on Acts 19:6 - 5 years ago
When you prayed the prayer of faith, to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior: you were sealed with the Holy Spirit THEN.

    1 Corinthians 3:16

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

    1 Corinthians 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

    Ephesians 4:30

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

    Ephesians 1:13

(Jesus) In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

    1 Corinthians 12:3

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 1:5 - For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Read all of 1 Corinthians 12, to understand the gift of speaking in tongues. If it's a gift you desire, then ask the Holy Spirit for that gift. Always covet discerning of spirits. A very useful gift.

    1 Corinthians 14: 1, 2, 4

For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh Not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

GOOGLE the gifts so you'll know what each one of them is for.

The Holy Spirit is your Teacher. Always ask Him to help you understand what you are reading. You now have the Mind of Christ. He will instruct you through the Holy Spirits ministry to believers. Be still & quiet till he replies. You're going to fall deeply in love with the Spirit of Jesus.

    It says in the bible..

exodus 20.8-11 remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work, but the seventh day is the sabbath of the lord thy god, in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.

for in six days the lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day, wherefore the lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

what day is the true sabbath day because some people say it's sunday and others say that it's friday sunset to an after saturday sunset ?

and how can we be sure because the only clue that i can find in the bible is in genesis 1.5 and god called the light day, and the darkness he called night. and the evening and the morning were the first day.

this suggest that sunset to sunset is a day, but this doesn't tell me which day is the sabbath is on, so how can we be sure which day is right ?

"Definition" isn't always the ultimate authority; the context is also important to correctly understand the word's 'definition'. For example, I'm speaking with someone & in the conversation I refer to a girl as a 'wench'. The immediate reaction from my hearer could be one of horror in my word usage. But if he were to properly understand my speech, he would take into account the dual meaning of 'wench', its context in speech & any intonation expressed on my part. As you might know, 'wench' can mean both a young girl or a promiscuous lady, so words written or spoken are not always 'cut & dry' in meaning & application.

You believe that the God of the Bible is Creator of all things & this ALL must include both good & evil. I agree with your definition of 'everything', but your definition of 'evil' is questionable and, as I've outlined earlier, can have other meanings & when applied to the actions of God, it cannot be associated with the actions of Satan. Absolutes, by definition, can never be fused together or else they cease to be so (e.g. Truth/Lie; Hot/Cold; Alive/Dead). To suggest that God can be both or do both, that makes your definition & understanding of God reprehensible & contrary to biblical teaching.

There are probably other related portions in Scripture, but the first one, the more familiar one, is found in 2 Chronicles 1:1-12 (the whole account) & particularly verses 9-12. I love that portion which ever reminds me that desiring wealth, a long life or even retribution on those who hate you are not the sort of things that a true servant of God should seek. But to have wisdom (i.e. to act wisely on the things that God has put into your mind, your heart, your life) is preeminent. So Solomon not only delighted God's Heart in his request for wisdom to judge God's people righteously, but also God also gave him those things that he didn't ask for, the things Solomon considered least important.

So the New Testament counterpart of this Truth is in Matthew 6:33: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." And James 1:5: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

This scripture came to me close to midnight as I was casting my care upon God and relating how it seemed like the odds were against us regarding a particular situation; a situation that he knows all about.

In that moment I asked him to help me to live upright ( whatever it means, whatever it takes).

    Not for, or against.
  • Generational Breakdowns - In Reply on 1 Corinthians 15 - 5 years ago
In a perfect world this would be true. In 1964, Courts ruled to toss the Bible out of schools. (By one old athiest woman)

Before the Church woke up, it was law.

Everyone was distracted by advances in the Space program. Cuban missile crisis and the race crisis. I graduated high school when they were trying to burn down Washington DC.

Evil prospers when good people do nothing. A lot of people don't know the Laws of God. It's up to people to find political support to rescind those laws. People can have abortion rescinded this year IF. They would vote for candidates that are against abortion. But they choose to vote blue, red, or for nobody. It's in Isaiah.

The Free Love generation threw off all restraints and ushered in hedonism to the 10th power.

This is what we have to work with. You can be the John the Baptist of the 2020's, but "they" will just UNFRIEND you.

Or you can preach on here, facebook, Twitter, or on the sidewalks of your city-

Like Jesus did. One person at a time, or at gatherings.

People are accountable for what they know and do once they receive Christ as Savior. Some people get "saved" and continue to live sinful because of Churches who preach a watered down version of the Bible. The Nicolaitans preach that message (book of Revelation). The greater sin is on Churches who DO NOT preach the New Testament.

Jesus gave us 2 new Commandments. If we do those, we will not violate the 10.

The advantages of being virgins before marriage, is the the female hymen which prevents sexual disease and pregnancy, hopefully.

Hardly anyone knows what the word CHASTITY means; or teaches it. The greater sin is on the Church. Churches are the only possible restraint against a "No restraint society."

You teach it. It's in your heart to care about it. Preach against sowing wild oats and hoping for crop failure. Allowing "crops" to be raked out and sold by Planned Parenthood", for laboratory experiments.

I ask for your Prayers for my sister, Diana Dupree (from Forrest Park, GA).

Prayers are so powerful. Please pray she doesn't continue 2 suffer any more pain.

Also, please pray a Miracle, that we know only our GOD & Savior can provide.

She's suffered over a yr of Unimaginable Pain. She has a Stage 4 Open Wound, so deep the bone's exposed (from a Dunwoody, GA rehab). Since it's huge & is on her lower back, it causes constant infections. She was discharged from a hospital, where she was already scheduled for a surgery & rehab, which would've allowed her 2 live with family. Instead, she was discharged 2 a nursing home... Parkside Nursing Home in Jasper, GA. The surgery would've helped her & our family, since her organs had lost bodily waste control.

My sisters & brothers are doing all we

can 2 help her... but can't bring her home

since the surgery we expected didn't happen.. so there was no waste bag put on the front side of her.. We could've handled that as a family. Now we can't even bring her home 2 lovingly care for her, & all pray 2gether with her.

WE THANK U 4 ANY & ALL PRAYERS!

I thank our GOD 4 His Sacrifice, when he sent his one & only son JESUS, from the

Heavens, 2 spread Christianity across the the Good earth he had created. & 2 teach

the gospel of God... so his people would recognize the Evil that that surrounded them; so they'd repent & receive GOD'S

forgiveness & be given the Grace of being

allowed 2 entry n2 his Glorious Heaven.

The Remnant, also called the 144,000, the elect or a part of the chosen. They are from the twelve tribes of Israel but scattered abroad among all nations. The 'women' term mentioned in Revelation 14:3 is the symbolic term for the church such as 'the women'. The church part is proven in Revelation 12:17. The 'virgins' term in Revelation 14:3 is from the Parable of the Foolish Virgins in Matthew Chapter 25 meaning they are bridesmaids not physical virgins and in summary are meant to be 'undefiled by church'.

    Hello John,

The answer to your question is "no". I've heard some "pastors" say that "the only way you know you have the Holy Spirit is if you can speak in tongues". This is not true. 1 Corinthians chapters 12-14 go over the one body of Christ and many of the diverse gifts of the Holy Spirit. How they are unique to all. Set upon everyone to His will.

From my own experience the most important thing is giving your life to Jesus Christ compassionately. Trust in the Lord. To take up you cross and follow Him with all your heart. Our Father knows our hearts and when we are ready to receive the Holy Spirit in the name of Christ.

    God Bless you brother.
