I do think that the Word does tell us to be peaceable as far as it is possible. But, as you noted in both posts, we are to speak up when something is posted that obviously does not align with the teachings of the Word. This is not comfortable to do. It takes some courage and certainly prayer. Some people do not like that people discuss differences in beliefs on here, being uncomfortable with conflict. Others like a platform, like you said. Others, led by the Spirit, speak up when ideas are expressed that falsify who God is, or the gospel, or other ideas that challenge what is considered by the majority of believers through the ages as correct belief. I appreciate it when people speak up about what they truly believe, and I also appreciate it when people show courage and speak up to disagree, which opens the conversation up to a more lengthy interchange that more deeply addresses a topic. This is not a negative thing to do. To some it may seem to be, and those who think this way are free to not read a discussion or enter the conversation with a post.
Like , others here, I have lot to learn yet in my journey with Christ. I am compelled by posts that I agree with and disagree with to prayerfully study more on a topic and trust that the Holy Spirit will guide me in the truth, as He does for others who sincerely seek to find out more about a spiritual topic.
Thanks for your contributions to our discussions here.
Hope this helps.
I'm opposed to the companies who use fetal tissue in their shots.
Covid isn't slowing down anyone eating at fast food restaurants. It's just a lot of controversy. I DO NOT trust the President or Falchi. They vascillate too much to be believable.
I saw some numbers that said flu deaths are higher than covid. In Texas we have Cedar+Fever regularly (from cedar forests). It's miserable.
The Israeli's are studying IVERMECTIN over covid vaccines. It works faster. No side effects.
I truly think Biden allowing illegals in the country without vaccinations is going to be a very bad thing. They've been bussed all over the USA. I feel like he's deliberately doing this to cause human fatalities. We definitely need to pray him out of office.
I don't give a flying carpet about Red or Blue Parties. We need to vote for America First.
Sorry that no one responded to your question. If your wife is a Christian believer, she will be with all believers in heaven.
Work or energize out with Gods help via the spirit your own salvation or soundness with fear[awe] and
trembling [reverent respect to the one making you whole].
That's how I see it. Any labor on my part which is not under the persuasion (PEITHO/faith) of God's Spirit, that labor is in vain. I was just reading through Galatians Chapter 3, and Galatians 3:3 stood out to me which says "Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
So Paul is addressing these people (Celtics/Gauls), and he's basically reminding them that they received Christ by faith, but after being saved by faith, are you now made perfect by the flesh (Human works)? They were being told that they could receive the Messiah but they still needed to keep the law in order to be saved. But in Galatians, we are told grace/faith are not to be mixed with fleshly works.
Today, people are being told that you are saved by faith alone, but once you're saved, then your salvation becomes works based. There's only one thing a person must do and that is to surrender their life to Christ.
If we began in the Spirit by faith, are we now made complete, or mature, by the works of the flesh? I can't speak for anyone else, but personally for myself, there isn't anything that I can do in the human. In fact, the more I do in the human when it comes to the things of Christ, the more I take away from His finished work. I can't add to it. I can only receive and believe!
Thanks again for your encouragement. God Bless!!!
Thanks for your response. I think my previous post was directly to the point.
Again, this is a bible forum for all people to share their points of view - if presented in a respectable manner. I may not agree with some posters doctrine/interpretation of bible scripture, but I don't want to shut the discussion down. If we remain humble and receptive, everyone can teach us something. I've learned a lot from you, and I continue to learn things from others here too!
I also want to say that I believe that the moderators here are doing a fine job!
God's true word will succeed, and HIS THRUTH will ultimately prevail without heavy handed moderation.
God Bless
Do you believe all of the Bible is true?
being Gods man abhorred or hated. Many times they had statues of there gods on the walls to help ward
off intruders and thought the walls could defend against anyone[Jerico example]. The jebusites were so
confidently arrogant that they said the blind and halt will keep you off. King James is a unique translation of this.
David always ask God first if he was going to win or not and we know if you ask God first you never lose.
in vain. Ecclesiastes 12:13 the whole duty of man.
if you like a glass of wine a day big deal but if you can't live without it different situation again balance. We
control things they don't control us.
Here are 4 facts about what people currently call a pandemic:
1. What people call a covid-19 experimental injection they call vaccine isn't a vaccine. It doesn't give immunity to it nor prevents the spread. It does not meet the normal definition of a vaccine which is why some have attempted to even change the definition of what a vaccine is. It doesn't even work.
2. The covid-19 injection has already been reported to have injured nearly 1 million people in the USA alone, with nearly 20,000 documented/reported deaths. This is significant. Most people thought the sinking of the Titanic was a horrible disaster with around 1,500 deaths. That was an accident. We are talking about a disaster that is 13 times more deadly, but it's not an accident- People are intentionally taking this and dying! And no, they would not die otherwise- most people don't even catch covid in a given year and the few that do 99.99% recover just fine. Being underreported, if 1 million people have already died in the US from the injection would anyone care?
3. The numbers of deaths from covid are a lie. CDC admits on their own site that only 5% of the deaths reported are from covid. The 95% are from other causes- comorbidities they call it. But they list covid as the primary cause so they get more government money.
4. The death count from the injections is a lie. 80% of the deaths from the injection is within first 24 hrs, but they don't count that as a vaccine death, but an unvaccinated death! Not only that, they don't count all the other deaths until 14 days after injection, where 95% of the deaths have already occurred! (Source CDC)
This is the strongest deception and delusion I've ever seen: 2 Thessalonians 2:11
On this site you can do phrase & word searches, hopefully this is helpful.
The Lord will forgive you every time you come to Him and ask. If you have received Jesus Christ into your life, been born of His Spirit, you have already been justified (Declared not guilty) as far as your salvation goes. If you belong to Christ, you will never see Hell. Surrendering your life to Christ does not mean that you need to keep "trying to get yourself together." Surrender means just that. You are surrendering to Christ and relying on His Spirit in you to transform your life.
Now, it doesn't mean that you will never slip up. None of us can go through life completely free from sin. That's why we are always dependent upon our Savior. The issue might be that you are trying in your own effort to get things right, when in reality, you should be approaching the Lord on a daily basis and confessing to Him "Lord, I can't do this without you. I need you to transform me into the person you would have me to be." It has to be that way. Personally for myself, if it wasn't for the Lord working in me, I would be a complete failure in life.
Natashya, I would say to you to stop putting so much burden on yourself trying to get things right, and cast it upon the Lord and ask Him to change you because you can't do it. None of us can. I like to think of it this way, and this is the reason why I love sailboats. Whenever I see a sailboat, it ministers to my heart. What I see is that I'm like a motor boat with the motor always running. I'm non-stop in how I might please the Lord. But the Lord tells me that it's time for me to turn the motor off, hoist up the sail, and go wherever the wind (His Spirit) takes me.
So again, stop trying so hard. Whatever it is, give it to the Lord and let Him work out in you His perfectness. It has to be Him doing the work, not you!!!
This I do know.
The scripture is
"Unless the Lord builds the housevthey labor in vain who build it".
Where is this ?
You might consider reading this: Matthew 18:21-22 Also the parable of the talents after that is also about forgiveness. The summary of this is: Matthew 6:14.
As a Christian following in the footsteps of Jesus our sins are covered by grace as long as we are choosing to follow Jesus. 70x7 basically means a LOT and nearly unlimited. If we're genuinely following Jesus we can have assurance of salvation. But messing up is one thing, but deliberately sinning is another. Hebrews 10:26.
Jesus throughout the Bible challenges everyone including believers to avoid sin. Over and over He said that. The problem is some assume that when they become a Christian you can stop what you're doing, because they believe they're already 'saved' and can commit unlimited sin and evil pleasure they desire and not worry about any consequences. Some even say its bad to do good, because you're putting in 'human effort'. Beware of lies aimed and distorting God's truth. I believe scriptures say the opposite: I believe when you become a Christian you START your journey towards Jesus and work towards developing your character to be more and more like Jesus and a key part of this is NOT SINNING! So, some believe they can and should put zero effort into this 0 of 10. But I believe we should put max effort into this: 10 of 10.
John 14:15,
2 Peter 1:5 says to be diligent. One translation says 'make every effort'
Luke 13:24 says to 'strive to enter through the narrow door'
2 Timothy 2:15 'do your best'
Luke 6:46 - don't call Jesus Lord and fail to do what He says
There are verses about entering God's rest, but I believe it means a spiritual rest and not physical where we're just sitting on the couch all day binge drinking and eating. The Bible says we'll be persecuted for our beliefs, that this is not our world, and we're to run the race as to receive the prize. All this suggests great effort in my opinion, but we're not saved from that effort, but by grace.
God bless...
Unless the Lord builds the housecthey labor in vain who build it.
In 1 Timothy 5:23, Paul is telling Timothy "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities."
The water in those days was very polluted and people were becoming diseased from it. And people in those days took a small amount of wine and mixed it with water. In those days, it was 9 parts water and 1 part wine. (Nothing like our wine today). Back then, it did not have the alcohol content, the fermentation as our alcoholic beverages do today. It took quite a while for you to drink, and that's why the wedding feast would last an entire week. It took a long while to get drunk! Today, a person can actually get drunk pretty quick on wine. But they took a little wine for their stomachs sake. It was for medicinal purposes because of how bad the water was.
And it's kind of interesting that if you notice how it's worded, it's a command, because Timothy doesn't want to go near this stuff. In fact, back in 1 Timothy 3:3, one of the characteristics of the overseer is that they're not given to wine. So Timothy is saying "I'm staying clear of that stuff." And so Paul has to command him, take a little wine for your stomachs sake, and for your often infirmities.
Obviously Timothy was a sick person, not in good health. And he was told to take a little wine for his stomachs sake. Paul just got through telling him to keep yourself pure, and so he has to mention this to him because Timothy is wrestling with this issue about keeping himself pure.
As far as if it's okay to have a glass of wine or not, something we need to take into consideration is Romans 14:23 where it says that which is not of faith is sin. Understanding that the word faith literally means persuasion, one must ask before indulging in a glass of wine if it is the Lord persuading them to do so? I'm not trying to be judgmental, but this is something we need to consider in all things. Whatever we are doing, is it under the Lord's persuasion?
Nearly everything can be abused. Almost any food or herb or vitamin when taken in excess will become toxic. Sugar or caffeine for example. Overeating is very bad on the body. Too much medicine is harmful and addictive, like painkillers. Our bodies are a holy temple and one could say are not even ours (on loan from God) so we are to respect it as such. People in this life struggle with temptations and hugely abuse their bodies, even church leaders and pastors. Similar to 1 Timothy 3:5 one might question if they can't take care of their God-given bodies how they can take care of others in the church.

concerning the Messiah thank God Joseph believed what God told him and moved when he was told. That
the scriptures may be fulfilled.
Just a few scriptures here about drinking wine. 1 Timothy 5:23; Ephesians 5:18, and Ecclesiastes 9:7; I am saved, but months into the pandemic I started drinking a glass of wine;
I used to not even go in a restaurant that served alcohol, but since the pandemic I have had white wine to drink.
Please clarify this for me.
Thank you
As I said before, whichever way it was, it was the WORKS OF GOD. This all we have to agree on.
God Bless You.
They may have been sold out religious leaders but they knew the Scriptures, they knew were the promised messiah was to be born. That's why Herod went to Bethlehem and not some other town.
The real reason Herod went and killed the children is because IT WAS WRITTEN in the prophets, and God's words will not return unto him void but will be fulfilled.
Jeremiah 3:15 Thus saith the Lord, A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, which are not.
God Bless you.
