Discuss Hebrews 11 Page 6

    Hi Donna,

I don't believe we can just replace the word God for Jesus. I believe that uses of God in the Bible sometimes implies the trinity, but other times is used solely for God the father. I believe this is one of the common sources of confusion. Also, Jesus is Lord, and the use of the word Lord of the Old Testament sometimes seems to include God the father. I'm interested in anyone else's opinions on this. So, the three are one, the same, but also different. While this is hard for us simple humans to understand how much the same they are and how much different they are, it says it in the Bible and we must choose whether we want to trust and believe what it says.

About the word begotten in John 3:16:

I'd like to borrow from a Got Questions answer on this as I find them scripturally based most of the time. They say the original Greek word 'begotten' or (monogenes) has 2 meanings:

    1. The first definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind within a specific relationship." Hebrews 11:17 like Abraham's son.

    2. The second definition is "pertaining to being the only one of its kind or class, unique in kind." See John 3:16, John 1:14, 18; 3:18; 1 John 4:9.

    Link

Beware of anyone distorting the word to assume it means Jesus was 'created' later. This is not what it means. Scripture already debunks that in John 1:3, 1 Corinthians 8:6 (Jesus made all things), John 1:1 (Jesus was there in the beginning), John 5:18 (equal with His father), Jesus is the John 8:58, "I AM", Exodus 3:14, Revelation 1:8

    God bless...

    Hi Jocelynne.

The account is in Genesis 22:1-18.

It's a lot to this story than what meets the Eye.

Issac was the child of promise and heir of the blessings promised to Abraham and by which the seed would come and by which all the world would be blessed.

    Genesis 15:5-6.

    Genesis 21:12.

( And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.)

Now if God was going to keep his promise "WHICH HE ALWAYS DO, BECAUSE GOD CAN'T LIE" Abraham would have to believe in something else. THE RESURRECTION!!

Hebrews 11:17-19. By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; FROM WHENCE ALSO HE RECEIVED HIM IN A FIGURE.

I believe this is where the Gospel is preached to Abraham.

    Galatians 3:8.

Genesis 22:14. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, IN THE MOUNT OF THE LORD IT SHALL BE SEEN.

I believe the Lord Jesus was offered up on that same hill.

    I hope this helps.

    God bless.

Genesis 18 is about two things. The promised seed to

Abraham through Sarah and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah where Lot had moved to.

In Genesis 13:14-17 God promises to Abraham and his seed the land of Canaan. Abraham and Sarah did not have any children and Sarah was past the age of having children. But with God nothing is impossible. In Genesis 21 Sarah has a son as God said through the angel. As far as the promise of the land to Abraham that is still to happen. Consider Hebrews 11:8-12 and then 39-40. This promise has not been fulfilled yet. This will not happen until Jesus returns to this earth and sets up his kingdom. Consider the Lords prayer. "Thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as in heaven.

Lemme tell ya what Faith really is, Its the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, Its a pregnancy in the spritual realm, When we have real faith we have a baby Christ in us that no body can see but we know what we have simply b/c we have a living spirit with in us.

Sarahs Faith resulted in a living CHILD ISSAC that Child of Promise....But Faith under the new covenant is gonna result in a baby Christ in us via that good seed the living WORD, that Child

of Promise, Thats what the great Promise was all about the multiplication of Christ via his seed

the WORD,...Thats y Jesus said that which is born of the spirit tis spirit which is our new innerman ....It was God Almighty that swore by himself that Christ wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven, Thus the sower and his precious seed that is gonna form a baby Christ in us which is the Child of Promise . Gestation in the spritual realm ....Thus the Promise of the H.G.

When Jesus said behold i send the Promise of my Father upon you that was MULTIPLICATION the heavenly birth, He is gonna multily himself with his seed the word

of the H.G.....He is truly able to multiply himself with his seed in humanity......Just like God did in Mary .But what does Jesus say about his Mother . He asked who is my Mother, Them that hear the word his seed and keeps it resulting in gestation in our hearts....He wants everybody to be bornagain of his seed the Word ( the living word ) . Now you know what Faith really is...Its THE BEGINNING OF A BIRTH.

Sister Gigi, if Only Spirit (the Word) existed in the beginning, and nothing else, then what do you think all things were made from.

Hebrews 11:3 .....so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

If the star that led the wise men was a physical star that moved and stood still, why didn't Herod follow the star himself to the Christ child.

I know you basing all truth on the traditions held by man, but are those traditions ALL TRUTH.

Pilot ask JESUS: What is truth.

All through the Bible it always has been the FEW, do you think all of Christianity (the church) is the FEW.

The CHURCH in the wilderness consisted of about six hundred thousand fighting men, YET ONLY TWO, entered the promised land, TWO BELIEVED GOD five hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred ninety eight BELIEVED MAN.

Noah preach one hundred twenty years, YET ONLY EIGHT entered the ark. EIGHT BELIEVED GOD, millions BELIEVED MAN.

Many (in the CHURCH) are on the road to destruction, FEW find the way.

This is what the message to the seven churches in Revelation is about.

Revelation 3:9 Behold I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, but are not, and do lie; Behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved you.

    Amen Brother Alex:

Hebrews 11:3 Through faith (of Christ) we understand that the worlds were framed by the WORD of GOD (Spirit), so the things that ARE SEEN were not made of thing which do appear.

Everything that we see was made of what we CANNOT see: everything was made OF SPIRIT (GOD).

The sun, moon, stars, planets, trees, MAN, etc., etc., are made and do consist OF and IN CHRIST. Man was created in darkness, no KNOWLEDGE that GOD created MAN out of HIMSELF.

Colossians 1:17 .....and by him all things consist.

John 1:5 And he shined LIGHT into DARKNESS and the DARKNESS comprehended it not.

Glory to our God, who in the fullness of time will DESTROY DARKNESS.

    God Bless You.

Brother S Spence, there is yet more to come concerning Jacob and Esau:

Hebrews 11:20 By faith Isaac BLESSED Jacob and Esau concerning THINGS TO COME.

The writer of Hebrews says those blessings are still in the future, they will come to pass after the resurrection to judgement and God's kingdom has been set up on earth.

    Jacob's blessing:

Genesis 27:29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: ......

    Esau's blessing:

Genesis 27:40 ...and serve thy brother: and it shall COME TO PASS when THOU SHALL HAVE the dominion, that thou shall break HIS (Jacob's) yoke from off thy neck.

Esau will come into God's kingdom after the resurrection to judgement, the kingdom of God is within you, and all Israel will be saved.

You are right the children were chosen according to the election of GRACE, one a vessel of honour and one a vessel of dishonour, but in the fullness of time God will be all in all.

    Hi Hans.

You may want to go back over what you are disagreeing on.

The Emphasis here is by faith Abraham was counted righteous APART from the deeds of the Law.

    Please see Galatians 4:21-28

Here's the Context of my Original post

    Galatians 4:28

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Isaac is not a Child of the flesh

" NOT OF ABRAHAM AND SARAH'S DOING THEY WERE BARREN."

The Promise was given BEFORE Abraham believed.

This promise was "INITIATED" and confirmed by a covenant back in

Genesis 15:8-12. Not in Genesis 22.

Abraham was put to sleep so God entered the covenant alone.

    Only he can break it!!

It's not broken or held up by any condition of Abraham.

"A conditional covenant needs both parties passing between the divided carcass."

Now let's go over the steps in sequence.

1 Abraham is given a Promise by God.

    Genesis 15:4-5.

    THEN.

2 Abraham believed God. What did he believe in? God's PROMISE.

    Genesis 15:6.

    3rd God performs the covenant.

    Genesis 15:8-12.

Note: The Land is tied to the promise, But that's for a different study.

    " Hebrews 11:8-10."

THIS IS WHERE THE GOSPEL IS PREACHED TO ABRAHAM.

    " Galatians 3:5-10."

    1) We have God's PROMISE " His Word.

    2) We have Abraham believed the PROMISE "Faith "

    IMPORTANT TO NOTICE.

( Ephesians 2:8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:)

    3) In Genesis 22 We will see the Resurrection.

    GENESIS 22.16.

Here in Genesis 22 what is it Abraham believed in? This is about 33 years after the "PROMISE OF ISAAC" in Genesis 15.

Answer: Hebrews 11:17-19.

    Abraham stumbled with these promises.

    Gen. 17:17-18.

    Thank God it's UNCONDITIONAL.

Good, you're at the right site. Start reading the WORD written inside by clicking the Books, I like Luke when I started that was great to show me as new study who Christ Jesus was, is & is to come. Hover over the scripture here, should bring you straight to it.

Luke 1:1-4, you can continue to read by clicking read full chapter the scroll down, click tab on edges to next chapter, etc. Many people enjoy Psalms, I didn't enjoy it as much as a new beginner study but do enjoy it much more now after years of study.

    Psalms 1:1-3,

U may enjoy Exodus, which actually begins in Genesis 37:1-36, continues : Genesis 39:1-23, Genesis 40:1-23, Genesis 41:1-57, Genesis 42:1-38, Genesis 43:1-34, Genesis 44:1-34,

[Note this scripture chapter 44, Genesis, if you noticed we skipped Genesis 38, because it jumps from Joseph to Judah. Now if you read Genesis 38:1-30, you can understand a few things on deeper level = Judah maybe knows painful loss of children at this point in his life & even the difference of love towards children of his "loved wife". Next very importance of Judah's sacrifice for others, resemblance of Jesus sacrifice being beloved Son of GOD. John 3:16, ]also interesting Tamar, bore to Judah the son in Jesus documented lineage Matthew 1:1-3]

Back to story : Genesis 45:1-28, (forgiveness), Genesis 46:1-34, Genesis 47:1-12 (Redemption) Genesis 47:27-31,

    Now note: Genesis 47:13-26 , Genesis 12:1-3, Genesis 12:10, Genesis 12:11-16, * Genesis 12:13-20, Genesis 16:3, Genesis 16:6-11, Genesis 15:13-14, Genesis 21:8-21, my own opinion Deuteronomy 32:35-36, Romans 12:19.

These moments in Genesis leading up to how & why Israel came into bondage. Exodus 1:1-8, continue reading Exodus 1:22, please continue to read all of Exodus.

One more encouraging note :) Hebrews 11:22, Psalms 105:1-45,

Furthermore on this site under the 1611 Version tab you can scroll to see more history on the Bible.

Hopefully these inspire a new lifetime desire of deeper study

    Amen Brother Carleton!!

Galatians 3:17. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. There's a lot tied to that promise. The birth of Isaac was a product of that promise, So are we.

Galatians 4:28. Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.

Abrahams offering up of Issac demonstrates the prophetic Ties the promise has with the Resurrection and new life by the Spirit.

Hebrews 11:18-19. Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

    Genesis 15:1-18.

    God bless you brother.

I take it to believe "yea", may not be him rejoicing but even that, has scripture backing Philippians 4:4-9, James 1:2-4, 1 John 4:18,

even if we walk in/near death we should not fear because GOD promises to be with us (that trust in HIM) Deuteronomy 31:8, Hebrews 13:5-6, John 14:16-21, Psalm 139:1-24, Psalms 37:40,

    The rod; Proverbs 13:24, Job 21:9, Proverbs 29:15, Lamentations 3:1, many times references discipline, correction: Proverbs 22:15, Proverbs 23:14, Proverbs 3:12, Hebrews 12:4-8-11, Staff: Hebrews 11:21, Zechariah 8:4, Exodus 21:19, Numbers 22:27, 2 Samuel 3:29, Judges 6:21

Hopefully these scriptures help you with the HOLY Spirit to understand deeper. John 14:26, James 1:5

In Abraham's mind Issac was as good as dead. Abraham was banking on Gods promise as you said.

Genesis 22:14. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
  • Successful Fasting and prayer - In Reply on Matthew 6 - 4 years ago
Ask God to help you make a comprehensive list of your sins.

Confess every sin that the Holy Spirit calls to your remembrance and accept God's forgiveness ( 1 John 1:9).

Seek forgiveness from all whom you have offended, and forgive all who have hurt you ( Mark 11:25; Luke 11:4; 17:3,4).

Make restitution as the Holy Spirit leads you.

Ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit according to His command in Ephesians 5:18 and His promise in 1 John 5:14,15.

Surrender your life fully to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Master; refuse to obey your worldly nature ( Romans 12:1,2).

Meditate on the attributes of God, His love, sovereignty, power, wisdom, faithfulness, grace, compassion, and others ( Psalm 48:9,10; 103:1-8, 11-13).

Begin your time of fasting and prayer with an expectant heart ( Hebrews 11:6).

Do not underestimate spiritual opposition. Satan sometimes intensifies the natural battle between body and spirit ( Galatians 5:16,17).

If you're married with kids, you'll still need to care for them. Attend to your duties, then excuse yourself back to your "closet".

I fast from food and ALL MEDIA. The idea is fast from food, AND feast on the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to shield you from interruptions, like phone calls, people who drop in unannounced or uninvited.

Have on hand, bouillon, fruit juice, lots of water. Jesus hungered after his fast. (he drank water.)

If you are diabetic or on serious meds, check your blood sugar if you feel bad. Dehydration will stop a fast.

Read the Gospels. Spend time in praise and worship. You can do this at work with headphones on. Whatever you do; no long faces. Bathe and dress normal.

Write Eph. 6 on a piece of paper and keep it before you. Don't tell anyone you're on fast. Just your husband. Satan will try to make you mad, feel unspiritual. Jesus used SCRIPTURE to counter attack satans attacks.

It's good to read aloud. We have gates: ears, eyes, mouth, a heart of joy. The Word goes in through all gates.

To my knowledge the book of Enoch was never included in the KJV since it was only found in the 50s with the death sea scrolls. There are ample mentions of him and his writing throughout the bible though, especially the new testament.

Genesis 5:18-24. And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. This and his for the times below average lifespan of three hundred sixty and five years, everyone living about 700-1000 years in those days, mean to me that his life wasn't ended because of death, but because, as it says, God took him after Enoch walking with him, which is perfectly described in the book of Enoch.

Hebrews 11:4-5. 5 makes mention of Enoch, whom by faith was "translated". I interpret this word as him being taken by God, since he was not found due to God having translated him. For before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God, so it says, and this testimony is likely to be his writing. 4 makes mention of Abel speaking even after death, which to my knowledge isn't really explained anywhere else in the bible but is perfectly made sense of in Enoch, where he looks into the depths of the Sheol only to find Abel claiming vengeance for the murdering of him (if someone knows of any passage of the bible which also mentions this I'd be very happy to know).

Lastly, Jude 1:14-15. Must I say any more?

I don't know much about other Apocrypha. I know, superficially, for example, that the deuterocanonical books were instilled by the catholic church and are quite contradictory with the rest of the bible, for the reasons this very same website mentions in its page about the apocrypha. I haven't read them though, so I couldn't know. I recommend the book of Enoch because sufficient mention is made of him to prove its veracity, and that it satisfies the curiosity of us creationists while also explaining, as I said, the nature of malevolence, the giants, of whom David fought one, the Lords cosmology and creation, etc.

Hi Jesse I noted that you state Enoch did not die but according to hebrews 11: 13 in the context it says these all died in in faith and that includes Enoch. Just an observation.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Daniel 5 - 4 years ago
    Hello Ralph,

Are you looking for the meaning of the word translated? If so, it literally means transferred. By faith, Enoch was transferred that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had transferred him: for before he was transferred he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

This is a perfect example of the application of these two types of faith, human, and spiritual. I have yet to hear any of the "human faith" teachers, which are numerous and many, say "You know, if you had enough faith, you wouldn't have to die, you'd just get transferred up into heaven. Nobody'd done that one yet!

It was by faith that Enoch was transferred because God transferred him. Faith is the name of the entire process in which Enoch was taken up into heaven. It is a word that describes what God did to Enoch. It wasn't that Enoch was here on the earth, and reached a point in his relationship with God that he had so much faith that he believed that he could be transferred up into heaven and not die, that God says "I'm pleased with that, so I think I will bring you up here." It's a word that describes what God did. The principle of faith is given in Hebrews 11:6.

    Let's start with scripture.

    2 Esdras 6:47-52 your reference

Genesis 1:20-22 * one translation of the Bible I recently read: instead of "whales" says "Monster/s" , Jerusalem Bible translation says"great serpents", NIV says "great creatures " , Jubilee Bible 2000 translation says "And GOD created the great dragons" several other translations say "great sea creatures". = (Huge water creatures.)

My 1st thought is the " dinosaur" namely "Brachiosaurus" & "Brontosaurus" [quotes- for names today?]

    Job 40:15 , Job 40:15-24,

    Job 41:1-10 Leviathan

    Bel and the Dragon 1:23-28

    Genesis 5:24, Jude 1:14, Hebrews 11:5,

    Linage to CHRIST Luke 3:37

Opinion : Is Enoch symbolism for Huge in The Faith?

You are blessed. It takes very great faith to leave the results in Gods capable hands.

    Your prayers are powerful.

    Hebrews 11:13

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, BUT HAVING SEEN THEM FROM AFAR, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

    Ephesians 6:13

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and HAVING DONE ALL, TO STAND.

This is what we do for our unsaved loved ones. We pray and keep them lifted up, before Gods throne. We ask that laborers in the Harvest, to be sent to them, in their every day lives. We WAR against Satan from blinding and stopping up their ears to hear.

Then just open your arms to freely love this person and bless with kindness.

The Child is the H.G the child of Promise as that which is born of the spirit is spirit, thats the H.G the Child of Promise. When he breathe on them that was his words his seeds of God the H.G. To whom his words came it made them Gods ( the H.G. ) THEY WERE FILLED WITH THE H.G. ) the very kingdom of God was within them but he had to give them up till the woman is in travail etc as Micah 5 says. Romans 8:6-9

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

7 Because the CARNAL mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

8 So then they that are in the FLESH cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

    Hebrews 11:6 (View whole chapter)

But without faith it is impossible to PLEASE him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Mishael: the 11th Chapter of Hebrews is known as "THE BOOK OF HEROES OF FAITH".

We all walk by faith and not by sight.

And God tests us in little things first. Tithing is a total work of faith. On Christmas Eve, I and my son were sitting at a traffic light. We saw an old man cross in front of us; head down in the freezing rain. All the money I had was 20 dollars for Christmas dinner. I asked my 8 yr old son if we should, and he shouted YES. I jumped out and gave the old man a hug and said Blessed Christmas and gave him the 20. We both thought upon him the next day. He was our Christmas blessing! Friends called and said to come over and eat with their family.

It doesn't take great faith. Just simple obedience to the Holy Spirit; who IS God. He never asks us to do impossible feats of faith: just ordinary things.

What will we do if the Holy Spirit taps us on the shoulder and asks us for a small act of faith?

The right answer to your question of what pleases God, is to be a person of faith. Like Jesus.

Hear all; the world, this is truth; in the movie of F9; Toretto family; you will hear these. 1. a truth declared by Vin Diesel, his little kid from almost 9 years old ask where is God? And Vin Diesel; declares this; Here and point on the little kid's heart, it's inside of you all the time; (TRUTH) for he is our breath of life. 2, the lie by a women talking to the same little kid; that she said; your Mother is watching you from heaven! (LIE) Just Jesus has ascended toward heaven of our heavenly Father, because he has descended from there first, and after he died and being resurrected at the third day, his body was transformed in a celestial body made out of the light of the Glory of God's Holy Spirit, then he was able to be again as he was the whole eternity, our God Holy Spirit. And for your knowledge Jesus when he was on earth declared this to the best master of Israelites Nicodemus; { John 3:10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Are you a master of Israel, and know not these things? John 3:11 Verily, verily, I say unto you, we speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and you receive not our witness. John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? John 3:13 "And no man has ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven."}; So the same lie is always confirmed to the relatives of every guys in a funeral service, that the deceased person will be at heaven, but it is not; when he dies he goes to the presence of God; but is sent to; if approved, goes to paradise, Abraham bosom, on the depths of earth, and if is rejected, is sent toward the darkness in Hell; the chambers that incarcerated the wicked people.) means spiritual realm; not heaven, really. God is everywhere, he is omniscient, can be everywhere because he can do it he fill heavens and e

    Hebrews 11:5

"By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God."

    Ecclesiasticus 44:16

"Enoch pleased the Lord, and was translated, being an example of repentance to all generations."

    Genesis 5:24

"And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."

SO WAS ELIJAH: 2nd Kings Chapter 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 2nd Kings 2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. (ELISHA was witness of it.)

Verse 1-Faith makes future things promised by God as real as if we already have them now.

Those 2 words are not in the King James Bible. You can verify by using THE SEARCH BOX.

The word you will find in the Bible is COVENANT. It's stronger than the other two words.

    John Chapter 16:7

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

    9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

    10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

    Examples of COVENANT

    Ezekiel 16:60

Nevertheless I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth, and I will establish unto thee an everlasting covenant.

    Genesis 17:13

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.

    Leviticus 26:42

Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.

    2 Kings 23:3

And the king stood by a pillar, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people stood to the covenant.

    Hi Adam,

I understand your frustration and I feel the same way. In this world, nothing saddens me more than unbelievers and how it makes God feel.

    Ephesians 4:18

They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

    2 Corinthians 4:4 important

In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

    People's Bible Notes for 2 Co 4:4

The god of this world. See Joh 12:31,40 Php 3:19. Satan is called the prince of this world, and the god of this world. Hath blinded the minds of them which believe not. By his devices he blinds the eyes of men so they should not see the light of gospel. The image of God. He who would see God may see him in the face of Christ. See Joh 14:9.

    Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the "faithless", the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

    2 Corinthians 6:14

Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

    Hebrews 3:12

Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.

    Hebrews 12:14

Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.

    John 3:18

Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

    Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please him for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
