This is the third part Continuing with the response, in Acts 10 14 15. If you start with VERSE 1 of chapter 10 you will get the whole story. Peter was rebuked or corrected because he was a Jew that had never eaten anything unclean or common. Here God was preparing him to go into Cornelius house, a Gentile which Jews considered them unclean or heathens. They ate unclean and common food according to Jewish customs . If God had not told Peter in VERSE 15 And the voice spake him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common . He would not have gone to Cornelius house.

This is the second part Then Jesus rebuked him saying, VERSE 23 But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan thou art an offence unto me for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men . Here when Peter was acting on emotion. He was not filled with the Holy Ghost to truly understand the purpose of Jesus having to go through this suffering. Peter also denied Christ three times before the Cock twice St. Mark 14 72. All of this took place before Peter was endured with power from on high. After he received the power, which is the Holy Ghost, he was able to stand. Also if you would read St. Matthew 16 verses 17 to 19, you will see that God blessed this same man that he later rebuked. In VERSE 23 this is like a father that is correcting his child.

Hello James, Just as I thought my first and second response was to long therefore it did not get printed. So I am going to break it up into four parts. This is the first part When you read the passages of scriptures from verse 21 to 23 then you get the clear understanding of why Jesus rebuked Peter. In verse number 21 Jesus was predicting his sufferings and his coming glory. VERSE 21 From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day . Her Jesus was talking about his crucifixion, his death and that he would raise his body up on the third day. VERSE 22 Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him saying, Be it far from thee, Lord this shall not be unto thee . Here Peter having walked with him, seen what he had done, knowing the good in him, did not want to accept this fate that Jesus spoke about. Peter did not want to believe that this was to happen to Jesus. He forgot himself and took Jesus laid hands on him .

James, I forgot to type out I John 4 1 3 "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus is come in the flesh is of God And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God and this is that spirit of antichrist, where of ye have heard that it should come and even now already is it in the world ". In St. John 1 14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth ". The Word is God manifested in the flesh.

James, One more thing to further validate that baptism is essential to salvation St. Luke 16 15 "And he said unto them. Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be SAVED but he that believeth not shall be damned ". You have to have all three parts of Acts 2 38 in order to be saved. Jesus is God manifested in the flesh. I John 4 1 to 3. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I will not waver on the foundation of salvation for anyone. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am in the truth and teach the truth. There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

Continuing with the response. In Galatians 2 11 12 It wasn t that Peter was wavering in the Gospel, Peter was trying to keep up appearances before his peers. He did not want these certain Jews to see him eating with the Gentiles. This happened 14 years after Paul had received the Holy Ghost. Paul received the Holy Ghost after Peter did. Peter had it together on the day of Pentecost. In Acts 15 9 Peter teaching them that were with him that no difference should be made between Jews and Gentiles. If I can say it like this, he was telling them not to show prejudice. If you read up a little further you will find that Peter was saying to them that the Gentiles received the Holy Ghost just like them.

Titus 3 11 and 1Cor 14 38. Thanks for answering all my questions. One last thing. Simon Peter was rebuked by the Lord Matt 16 23, Acts 10 14 15, and Paul Galatians 2 11 12. But he had his doctrine straight by Acts 15 verse 9. I know how you believe. My brother believes the same way. If you would like to talk more in a kind fashon. I will check to see if you type back and I will give you my email and we can go over Acts 19. Have a good day.

James, God appeared in many forms and had many names in the Old Testament. However, he had not shown his true face. Exodus 33 20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face for there shall no man see me, and live . This is why God clothe himself in flesh. He dwelled among us, to be the example in which we are to follow. He walked in his fleshly body and was tempted as we are and showed us how to resist temptations. He is our prime example. He prophesied his coming in Genesis. It also states in St. John 1 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . VERSE 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth . In Genesis it states that God created the Heaven and the Earth. I hope this helps you. I will humbly say this to you James. Whenever, God has me teaching like this he is truly trying to get someone s attention, whether that is you are someone reading these post. I just hope that you and anyone reading this post that have not been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and have not receive the true Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit give them utterance, I hope that you get to the nearest church and preacher who teaches Acts 2 38 and follow this plan of salvation before it is too late. You do not want to be caught like the 5 foolish virgins with your oil half full.

James, I know that there is what is called a sinners pray going around now that people say that they repent and accept Jesus in the heart and they are saved. However, this is not all they have to have. There are two other things they have to have in order to go to heaven, the baptism and the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit of God give utterance. Since God is Omniscient, He knows all things and he looks at the heart of a person, He knows whether or not that person is going to get the water baptism. This is when the grace of God steps in. God will not let that person die before hearing the truth. However, if he or she does not act upon that which they hear and grace runs out for them then they are lost. You have to have all three. If it was not important for the Baptism then why did God allow the apostle Paul to meet those 12 men in Acts 19 1 7 and have them get rebaptized the correct way. God is truly one deity his name is Jesus Christ and in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. If you have only confessed with your mouth that you accept Jesus and he has not filled you with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance then you are not saved and you do not have the true Holy Ghost.

Hello James I do not know if this will be printed because it is long, my other one was not, but here goes. I have no problem with knowing who Jesus truly is. He is God manifested in the flesh. When you read St. John 1 1 15 especially verse 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not . Who created the world? Verse number 14. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth . There is three parts to a person, body, soul, and spirit, but that person is still one being. The God that made man can hold all three offices or titles. His glory was too bright for men to look upon it, therefore he clothe himself in flesh and dwelt among me. The flesh did not want to go through the pain and suffering this is why it cried out to the creator of the flesh. The scripture, Colossians 2 8 9 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the God head bodily . This does not say that Christ dwelleth in the Godhead as one of three. This states that in Christ all dwell in him. The scripture Ephesians 4 5 One Lord, one faith, and one baptism and when Peter declared what it took to be saved on the day of Pentecost this is the key to get into heaven.
  • James on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
I realize your trouble is with the Godhead Rom 1 20, Acts 17 29, Col 2 9 . Ponder these questions please. Was Jesus praying to Himself in the Garden of Gethsemane? If Jesus was praying to the divine side of Himself, then isn 't He still praying to Himself? Why was Jesus not saying, "Not My will, but MY will be done? " if there is only one person and one will involved when He was praying in Luke 22 42 Matt. 26 39. If baptism is essential for salvation, then what happens to someone who repents of sin, accepts Jesus as Savior, walks across the street to get baptized but is killed by a car? Does he go to heaven or hell? A.If he goes to heaven, then baptism isn 't a requirement is it? B.If he goes to hell, then faith in Christ isn 't sufficient to save him is it? 7.Since the Bible teaches us that Jesus is in bodily form now Col. 2 9 , then how does the Oneness Pentecostal person maintain that God is in the form of the Holy Spirit? Also, when Jesus returns, will He return in His body? Will God 's form then revert to the form of the Son at a later date? If God is only one person, why did Jesus say in John 14 23, "If a man love me, he will keep my words and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. " If God is only one person, why does Jesus say, "we "? Oneness theology teaches that God was in the mode of the Father in the Old Testament. God was seen in the OT not as a vision or a dream or an angel in the following verses Exo. 6 2 3 Gen. 19 24 Num. 12 6 8 . But, Jesus said no one has seen the Father John 6 46 . If they were seeing God Almighty Exo. 6 2 3 but it wasn 't the Father, then who was it? Hope this helps.

Hello James I also sent this response and I am going to add to my previous response. In Acts 4 12 "Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved ". So when the preacher calls Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, he has not called the name that belongs to each of those titles. Therefore, when the preacher submerges you in water and says Father, Son, and Holy Ghost this is not correct according to the true Word of God, because he failed to call the name. That Preacher has to call on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
Hello James See in Colossians 3 17 when it speaks about "deed " a deed is a thing done or an act. This is what baptism is, it is a deed done for the remission of sin. So the scripture states that "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him ".

Hello James I had sent this response also, but I do not see it printed yet. So I am going to restate it. Evangelist is a title that is honored along with other titles in the Bible, if I can say it like this. Phillip, who was one of the apostles, was called Evangelist in Acts 21 8 Then in Ephesians 4 11 evangelist is one of the spiritual gifts "And he gave some, apostles and some, prophets and some, evangelists and some pastors and teachers " Verse 12 says "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ ". In 2 Timothy 4 5 It states that to do the work of an evangelist, "But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry ". I know that in these times people want to play down the titles of ministry for the setting up of the church, however, they are very real and talked about having.

Hello James, I did not say that you could not receive the Holy Ghost before getting the Baptism. God can fill you with the Holy Ghost with the evidence in speaking in other tongues or stammering lips, before or after the Baptism in the Lord Jesus Christ name. However, the correct baptism is still very important if it was not so then he would not have had it written in the book of Acts showing those 12 men that had to be rebaptized Acts 19 1 7 in his name The Lord Jesus.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
Hello James You also mentioned Hell and Brimstone. It is not those who carry the truth that condemn to Hell and Brimstone, but the Word of God has already stated who is going to Hell and the second death. Revelation 21 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone which is the second death ". The word abominable is all the sin not mentioned here that God does not like. This includes another form of wrongful copulation.
  • James on Acts 2 - 11 years ago
Evangelist is a title and Job 32 21 says Let me not, I pray you, accept any man 's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man verse 22 For I know not to give flattering titles in so doing my maker would soon take me away. The oneness pentecostal heresy of modalism has damned many souls to hell fire and brimstone. Jesus said HIMSELF in Matthew 28 19 how to baptise. And the Evangelist will say well thats not in the Bible. Well if you try to rip that verse out how do you know all the other parts are right. Acts 2 38 is all Jews. Read the chapter. See verses 5,14,22,36 in Acts 2. The Gentiles were baptized in the name of the Lord in Acts 10 verse 48. The Father is called LORD see the O.T., the Son is called Lord see Phil 2.11, and the Holy Spirit is called Lord see 2 Cor 17. These GENTILES also received the Holy Ghost before baptism Acts 10 verse 11. Also the Catholic heresy about Simon Peter is nonsense. I don 't need the keys. I got the Door!!! John 10 7 and He is knocking and you can let Him in Rev 3 20. For the Evangelist see 1 Corinthians 14 38.

For the Anonymous writer concerning the Baptism. It is not just a little thing. It is the difference between getting into Heaven and going to Hell. It is very important that you get Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Father, son, and Holy Ghost are not names they are titles in which God operates in. I am a mother, wife, and a daughter but it is just me, one person, and I have one name. His name was given in St. Matthew 1 25. He stated that he came in his father name St. John 5 43. The name in which the Holy Ghost operates in is Jesus, St. John 14 26. The church age began in the book of Acts of the Apostles. There is no where in that book are in the Bible where anyone was baptized with the person doing the baptism calling out Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. If this is not satisfactory, in Colossians 3 17 it states "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him ". You have to call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ when baptizing or else the baptism is not accepted in Heaven. Because Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of Heaven and he declared it on the day of Pentecost. This is the Bible.

Jesus spoke in tongues Mathew 27 46, Mark 7 34 and Mark 15 34. Speaking in tongues was one of the supernatural gifts that would follow the believer. They would lay hand on the sick and they will recover, they shall cast out devils, and speak with new tongues. Tongues is also one of the gifts of the spirit. There are for kinds of tongues 1 Corinthians 14 2 Sign for unbelievers, 1 Corinthians 12 10 tongues to be interpretated, Jude 20 21 For building up your faith I could use more faith , Romans 8 26 27 Helps us to pray when we don 't know how to pray Intercession. There is a whole Chapter in Corinthians on tongues, you cant find a whole Chapter on tithing or prayer. I wanted a Acts 2 experience rivers of living water. I spoke in Tongues and I acted like us was drunk on new wine it was the sweetist and strongest peace and it was the sweetist and strongest joy. Tongues are important, they are a part of our weapons of warfare.

The fact is that Acts 2 38 is NOT the "model " plan of salvation, nor are any of the other "water verses " which the cultists use. Only by taking such verses out of their context can one teach such heresy. All of the Bible is true, not just the favorite "proof texts " of the cults. Baptism saves no one. It only serves as a testimonial picture of the death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ AFTER one has believed on Christ Acts 8 36 38 . Paul said in I Corinthians 1 17 that ". . . Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. " This "gospel " is defined by Paul in I Corinthians 15 1 4, and it does NOT include water baptism. The dying thief was not baptized, yet Jesus saved him Luke 23 42 43 , and John wrote that we are washed in the BLOOD of Christ Rev. 1 5 , not in the water. In fact, the saints in Heaven claim to have gotten there by the blood of Jesus Rev. 5 9 , not by water. By faith in the blood of Jesus Christ one is saved Rom. 3 25 . Water baptism only follows this faith as an outward step of obedience.

People get confused by not rightly dividing the word of truth 2 Tim 2 15. Chrisma means gifted. So a charasmatic is saying he is more gifted than you. Tongues are one of the least gifts one could have see 1 Cor 12 30 and 31. They are not unknown jibber jabber. They are languages that one did not have to study to be able to share the gospel with someone else. See Acts 2 verse 8 And how hear we every man in our own TONGUE, wherein we were born? then verse 6 , because that every man heard them speak in his own LANGUAGE. 1 Cor 14 22 says tongues are for them that BELIEVE NOT. Those who believe don t need to hear you speak in tongues. Also they are for a SIGN and chapter 1 verse 22 says Jews require a SIGN. Matt 12 39 says an evil and adulterous generation seeketh a SIGN. In acts 2,10,19 Jews are present every time because they couldn t believe that Gentiles could even be saved. Read chapter ten. You are not a Jew and most likely have no Jews attending your church services. When you are filled with the Spirit you will speak boldly for the Lord. Lets see you stand on the street corner and speak in so called tongues and find out how many you win to Christ with that behavior.

Commit to Sonia Escobar Jesus spoke of two experiences. One was like a well. The other was like a river. The well is salvation and is a must for all. The river is the baptism of the Holy Spirit which gives you power to become a witness. To be filled with the Holy Spirit all you have to do is ask Jesus to fill you.The evidence that you have been filled is tongues.

It doesn 't matter as long as you are born again you can baptize in Jesus name or in the name of father son and holy ghost it will get the job done we are all one body in Christ. Let 's not bicker about the little things.
