I am very disappointed that Christians simply cannot report the Lord is speaking of homosexuality in Romans chapter I. Many homosexuals need plain truth, and not a Christian Community whom skirt around this terrible abomination! Many of these people will never change his/her sexual behavior. However, should PLAIN Truth convert, and save one person from eternal hell plain truth is worth the back lash!!

I believe Paul is referring to our eternal state, and the differing levels or degrees of that state:

Sun - enjoying the presence of God the Father

Moon - enjoying the presence of Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten

Stars - enjoying that degree of light (glory) in which we can each individually dwell

Sorry but as a matter of fact it does. Those who believe that there is a rapture think that Christ comes first. When the bible tells you explicitly that the anti- christ comes first. Which means that those people are worshipping Satan instead of waiting for the real Christ. Blessed are those when the Lord comes he finds still working in the field. Read your bible.

Brother Paul, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth PASS...till ALL BE FULFILLED.

Before Christ's death and resurrection, Christ DID NOT dwell or live in man; but in (old) heaven and (old) earth, the OLD DWELLING PLACE of GOD, temples made by man's hands.

After Christ's death and resurrection; the old heaven and old earth PASSED AWAY, and ALL THINGS were made NEW. A New Heaven and A New Earth. Christ now dwells in us.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth (CHRIST IN YOU): for the first heaven and the first earth WERE PASSED AWAY (already completed).

This fulfils the words he spoke in Matthew 5:18, Mark 13:31, Matthew 24:35, Luke 21:33, etc.

The law and prophets were fulfilled at Christ's death and resurrection; therefore all the laws and ordinances of the Old Testament are NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

Heaven and earth HAVE PASSED; the law and prophets NAVE BEEN FULFILLED.

"THE LAW" as referred to by Jesus is the 10 Commandments..it doesn't say anything about stoning anyone in this LAW.

Jesus did not let the adulteress get stoned in the scripture below:

    John 8:2-10 Context

2And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

In scripture, Jesus and his apostles refer many times to keeping the 10 commandments. Here are two verses spoken by Jesus

    John 14:15

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."

    John 15:10

"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

As Christians .if we keep God's commandments, we WILL NOT kill or stone anyone. The 6th Commandment: THOU SHALT NOT KILL.

Matthew 5:18. Is saying that God's 10 commandments are in force until the end of this earth.

    God Bless

    Hi Paul,

Notice that what you said in your sentence is not what Matthew 5:18 says. The verse says 'til all be fulfilled' not 'end of time' as you said.

The Bible says Jesus came to earth to fulfil the law. Hover or click on this for proof: Matthew 5:17. Note that Jesus came after the Israelites and after the Old Testament was written.

Jesus's mission was to die for the sins of the world. John 3:16

Notice that after Jesus completed his mission he said 'it is finished': John 19:30.

So, Jesus fulfilled the law. People had lots of laws then including Israelites who had nearly 1000 laws, not just moral, but civil and ceremonial. They were huge in number and governed themselves like a country.

However, even though Jesus fulfilled the law, we are still obligated to follow the moral law. John 14:15. Example: do not kill, lie, cheat, worship false gods, commit sexual immorality, blasphemy, etc.

They did stoning back then. Public stonings are still done today in places in the middle east.

The Bible does not instruct Christians to stone anyone. One must differentiate what is moral law that applies to 'me' and what was a civil or ceremonial law that only applied to a people group at that time. Israelites were God's chosen people so they were given different attention than others as well.

Jesus says that not a single letter of the law will be changed until the end of time. Matthew 5:18

How does this apply to stoning adulterers and homosexuals as outlined in Deuteronomy and Leviticus?
  • Paul on Deuteronomy 24:16 - 5 years ago
    Deut 24:16.

Ok, we may not kill a father or son for the others sins but may we sanction them in other less lethal ways?

    Dear Fred,

It sounds like you interpret my providing someone with scripture as a 'veer away from scripture' and I don't know why you assume that. I first recommended scripture- Paul's writings. Then I recommended the page which has even more scripture- someone already did a lot of work pulling all the verses together. Then I included 2 more scriptures. Maybe total the info has dozens of scripture for him to look at, so I don't understand the accusation of 'veer away from scripture.'

As someone who spends lots of time trying to help people it's hard to see baseless criticism especially in place that's supposed to be uplifting. Your response didn't have any scripture so you have a stronger case against yourself. "Gods or mans?" God bless.

    Hi Vicki,

Is there a passage ANYWHERE in the Bible where it requires you to either believe or disbelieve the rapture as a requirement for salvation??

there's differences throughout the scripture, some that determine salvation and some don't.

THE RAPTURE ISN'T ONE THAT "DETERMINES" YOUR SALVATION .

Jesus commanded us to Go out and be a part of teaching and preaching the Gospel,

That should be where your heart and passion should be.

    These differences shouldn't divide us!!

    God bless.

The"Day" in Genesis 1:5(1:4+1:5)[14th Day and 15thDay of Passover] is capitalized. The word "Day",is a noun. When a noun is capitalized,it becomes a personalized noun. This"Day" is an Personalized Day.This is God's Personalized Day.It is "that Day".It is The Day of The Lord. Genesis 1:3 is not talking about day (as in sunlight),but, rather, the commission of the Gospel,to be sent("there"[Let there(the waters Rev.17:15)be light. The evening and the morning of the Day of the Lord is bumped up into every day of our lives(2cor.6:2[selfsame day]),that we may "know therefore this day(Day),and consider it in our heart".It's really ALL about JESUS!!!!!!+!See these verses(from KJV study bible). Hello Vance. In everything regarding the Church, one clear instruction given by Paul is found in Acts 20:28 is, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood."

Because of the value of every child of God, the pastoral care, control, guidance, teaching & love given to them are so important. As Paul instructed the Ephesian Elders to "take heed" (or, be very mindful) of yourselves in both their personal & ministerial lives, so also they must not to disregard the "flock" for which God had given them responsibility. Paul was thinking more about some men entering into the Church bringing in "damnable heresies" & leading the innocent unlearned members away. Yet, the elders' responsibilities extended much more to all areas of Church life.

1 Corinthians chapter 5 tells us of Paul's grief over a horrible sin found in the Church there. Even though Paul couldn't be everywhere to administer discipline, the elders were expected to identify & deal with any problem in the Church, especially sin. The elder (or, pastor), must view his congregation as Christ's flock, & the great responsibility that Jesus has bestowed on him. Just as a flock of sheep need the constant sound of the shepherd's voice, a strong prod with the staff, or even chasing the straying sheep to bring it back to the fold, so too must God's servant be diligent to know his 'sheep' & to bring back erring ones.

When the 'sheep' know that they're loved, cared for & will be guided aright, they will respond as if Christ Himself is speaking with them. The elder/pastor needs to let the erring ones know that he is aware of their sin. He needs to bring them together to deal with the problem, in the spirit of love, meekness & for restoration. They need to be taught & warned from God's Word. And if they refuse to listen, they need to be separated, even for a time ( 1 Corinthians 5:6,7).

It seems that when we veer away from scripture, the wisdom and knowledge also become a little out of reach! Even using "got Questions" although ok, I am learning the importance of staying locked into the word! At times it may seem "monotonous". it is perhaps an indication that the next limb is about to evolve! The tree takes awhile, remembering what strengthens the roots is not always easy! Such is the world, God is in charge! Precisely in and through His words! This 2 is how the church will evolve, whos church it will be will remain too be seen! Gods or mans?

    Sacha,

How about we discuss the Jesus/God relationship: God gave of Himself to send Jesus as a man into the world for our benefit. Lightning starts in the west, and ends up in the east, that's Jesus. Jesus has divinity about him. He was not live for himself, but for He who sent him, His Father. Jesus was crucified and resurrected, Godly.

There is no record of Jesus ever facing judgment, further solidifying the belief Jesus was without sin, and truly the son of God. His resurrection made everlasting life possible.

Jesus Christ is transfigured, with a new name, burnt brass radiance. All God, and at the right hand of God. ( Psalm 110)

( Revelation 1:15) And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

Summary: On earth he was always dialed it to God like no one else. Jesus was sacrificed and resurrected to God status in Spirit form. So, there are two different Jesus' like there will be two different you's, when you are resurrected.

Praise God!! Thank you Mishael and S. Spencer. Long ago, just a short time after I was saved, I was driving in my car humming a popular tune that was on the radio. Suddenly I heard deep within my spirit, "Shhhhh, be still" and a feeling of peace drawing me within. I stopped humming and listened. His Word made me still, though I didn't know it was Him yet. I had never heard interior words before. Perhaps this is not the experience of everyone, but it is mine, glory to God. He is the Word, and the Word is alive, sharper than any two-edged sword, dividing asunder soul and spirit. The Holy One of Israel, the Beloved, speaks in our spirit, bringing wisdom and joy and infinite blessing to everyone who seeks. But you must shut off your devices and listen..... We ourselves cannot make our minds still, but if we show up in the place where He may be found, his powerful stillness reigns. We are so blessed!

    Sacha,

Do you know the wisdom of ( Jeremiah 50) & ( Jeremiah 51)?

    It has a relationship with ( Revelation 17) & ( Revelation 18)

Mystery Babylon is the new Rome with a powerful army.

I will tell you, the first time I heard about Jeremiah was from my dad when he overheard me singing "Jeremiah was a bullfrog, was a good friend of mine". The spirit gives me a special and distinct feeling from all others, gives me great satisfaction.
