Hi Eric. Are you referring to Jeremiah chapter 44? If so, verse 16 speaks about the Jews living in Egypt refusing to listen to the words of Jeremiah, but would rather sacrifice to idols as their lives were better off (vv17,18). Maybe you missed the words "we will NOT hearken unto thee (Jeremiah)". They should have remembered how the Lord destroyed Jerusalem earlier because of their idolatry & their land became a curse (vv 20-22).
  • Chris - In Reply on Jeremiah 46:27 - 4 years ago
Hi Eric. It's my understanding that in Jeremiah 46:11,19,20,24 where the 'daughter of Egypt, virgin daughter, fair heifer' are mentioned, they speak of only Egypt, as a land that up to this time had never been conquered.

But Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon would come during the reign of Jehoiakim of Judah, & Egypt would be delivered into Babylon's hands. Jeremiah prophesied this a few years prior to the arrival of Nebuchadnezzar, in 605 BC. Jeremiah 46:2 speaks of the battle being in Carchemish, which was in present-day southern Turkey. Apparently, Egypt had rule over that city & that's where Babylon met Egypt in battle. Ezekiel also mentions this battle in chapter 30 (if you want to read ahead from your present studies).

So, the 'virgin daughter of Egypt' implies the unconquered state of the land Egypt & therefore the 'daughter of Egypt' would be all those in Egypt awaiting their fate (i.e. the take-over of Babylon) as the battle at Carchemish would be lost & they would become vassals of Babylon. You're doing a good job with your studies, Eric.

    Ephesians 5:25-5:27

    Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle, or any such thing;

The Lord Jesus gave his body in love, he sanctifies, cleanses, washes with the water of the word this glorious body, that he may give this body to himself.

    Ephesians 5:28

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Husbands in the Lord will also sanctify, cleanse and wash with the word so that he and his wife are one in Christ Jesus a part of the glorious body, the church ready for the Lord to take this body to himself.

Is daughter of Egypt suppose to mean something? Like the holy people left that dwell in Egypt?
  • Eric Lopez on Jeremiah 44:16 - 4 years ago
We are so stubborn. The jews reached out to Jeremiah to pray for them and will do as the Lord says then rejects the answer. As God said in this chapter, you will see I'm telling the truth and by then it will be too late. You will see evil and not good from God.

Earl I've decided to give you an example of something that happened to me where I was given no choice because of the circumstance but the outcome was definitely the will of God because I believed. This is the first of many miracles in my life. I was working in a prefab housing plant and someone just set up 14 22ft roof trusses against a wall on iron rails but forgot to tie them in. I was walking by them and they came down on me, I woke up 5 hours later in an emergency room, and went out again. When I woke up I was in a bed my neck was in bandages and still half out of it a doctor was standing over me and told me I couldn't move.

I was in absolute pain from head to toe, and in front of the doctor I close my eyes and thanked God that I was healed in the name of Jesus Christ, immediately a warm gentle rush went through my body from head to toe and I sat up and went to the mens room to relieve myself. The physician and the guy in the bed next to me were blown away.

The doctor ask me how did i do that, I told Him I prayed to be healed by God in the name of Jesus Christ and He healed me. The physician didn't believe me. Now I refuse to believe that Gods will was to have about 800 lbs. of wood fall on me,and no I was not used to set an example, but without question, His will is to heal.

Also I got a phone call from a fellow worker who could not believe I was still alive, he quit because the shock of me being alive was too much for His head. I've learned that not only that I believe Gods Word but also what I believe about Gods Word has an affect. Your love and compassion for the gospel is evident. In His Service

Corinthians 7:15 "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace."

    This Scripture helped me

when I went through the same

thing with my ex fianc. I heard a preacher preach on abuse in marriage and use this verse to propose one should leave. I took that. Basically, my

Ex didn't believe in being a good Christian husband. He gave all the talk when we met but then the mask slipped! In other words he departed from love and was cruel. If he was ever a true Believer - I don't know. That is between him and God. Needless to say; I thank God I was delivered from him completely. It's dangerous to stay with abusers. If they don't end up killing you physically (abuse escalates most of the time) then the stress and knock on effects of staying lead to a destroyed life and other tragic losses like your health and your other relationships. I just said a prayer for you.

Glenn said: "The falling away, simply means people have fallen in to the deception of the anti- Christ ,.. an that will certainly be one of his messages, " I've come to rapture you away " !!! So yes , being careful is so very correct,.."

The man of sin, son of perdition HAS NOT "been revealed" yet, so this is Impossible! "The falling away" is simply "THE Departure" to meet CHRIST in the air, that Paul has Already Taught In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:1, and 1 Corinthians 15:51-57.

The DOUBLE "deception" is AFTER "THE Departure FIRST," And:

2Th 2:8 "...THEN shall that Wicked BE REVEALED, whom The LORD Shall Consume with The Spirit Of HIS Mouth, and Shall Destroy with The Brightness Of HIS Coming:

2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not The Love Of The Truth, that they might be saved.

2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them Strong Delusion, that they should believe a lie:

2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not The Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness."

So, yes I agree: being careful/PRAYERFUL in 'study' is so very correct!

Praise HIM, Who Is Coming for our Wonderful Departure To GloryLand! Amen?

Precious Rick: "sorry was not following conversation correctly...5 called saul "out, vs 6 saul trembling the word is tremo absolute terror, this guy went from no fear bold as brass to absolute terror because his head says whats going on but still says what do you want me to do. No where in that whole conversion did the lord beat/condemn him, why because he was doing it out of ignorance." It's ok:

So, in "that whole conversion" you say Paul "was NOT Saved" Until later, when "Ananias laid hands on him, and he was healed physically and was baptized spiritually"?

    1) I believe he was saved/converted, and had the "INDWELLING Holy Spirit, BAPTIZED as the FIRST member" {our 'pattern' ( 1 Timothy 1:16) for God's NEW Dispensation Of GRACE!}, And Today's Body Of CHRIST, ON the road {church Birthday!}, By JESUS' Pure MERCY, because that's where he proclaimed: "LORD, what wilt thou have me to do?" ( Acts 9:6).

We do know THIS Scripture: "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by The Spirit of God calleth JESUS accursed: and that no man can say that JESUS Is The LORD, but 'BY' The Holy Ghost." ( 1 Corinthians 12:3), Correct?

Thus, IF Paul DID NOT have The Holy Spirit, THEN he would NOT have said: "LORD," Correct?

    2) Now, about Ananias {a "devout man according To The LAW!" Acts 22:12}, this could NOT have been the salvation/conversion above, and The ONE Baptism 'BY' The Holy Spirit, because when he "laid hands {NOT our 'pattern'} on Saul," he "received The FILLING of The Spirit, the SAME as The Twelve apostles received, CHRIST Baptizing them 'WITH' The Holy Spirit, For "power, signs, and wonders," Which Were In Effect, "Confirming The Word," UNTIL The Scriptures Were Completed. This was done by Paul, "fulfilling/Completing" The Scriptures With Romans-Philemon = God's Revelation Of The MYSTERY! ( Colossians 1:25-26).

    3) Thus, ALL the THIRTEEN apostles had this power to CONFIRM CHRIST's Messages In Which LAW Disappeared as GRACE Came to be IN FULL EFFECT! Amen?
  • Rod - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 4 years ago
I would suggest that you start in the new testament, starting with the four gospels, as this is the ministry of Jesus, and the salvation of the cross, as Jesus says in Matthew 5:17 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil". in other words fulfilling of the old testament and its laws and prophecy, and starting from the book of Acts to up to Revelations is the spreading of his gospel, But wherever you decide to start may God bless you on that journey.

    Hey George,

It gets hard sometime, things we do and how we treat other people and the good things we do seem to have no effect. First thing you need to do is look inside yourself, we need to make sure the if lack of gratitude from those we do things for is not what is frustrating us. It's baked in the cake, we as humans, when we do a good job, do something for someone our flesh looks for a reward, we all have those feelings.

We have to constantly remind ourselves, "do not let the left hand know what thy right hand doeth" ( Matthew 6:1-4).

If these are people you are around a lot and they are taking advantage of you, have a loving discussion and let them know how you feel, and say a little prayer maybe for you and them. If these are people you do not know and they take your goodness or if you share the gospel and they are rude or reject what you try to share, turn and walk away and be thankful and ask the Lord for strength and guidance.

We must remind ourselves, the good we do or if we share the gospel and they reject it, the testimony is against them. Hey, there are many none caring, selfish people in this world, out for number one, and sometimes it is hard to be a light in a world of darkness.

This is what I feel, but may someone else have a better response that may help, but do not ever stop doing good. It is like a food you hate, taste like yuck be is good for the body, so hold your nose and kill em with kindness.

September is when a lot of COVID-19 relief expires.

By the end of this month, millions of Americans relying on the emergency aid programs to make ends meet will have to do without, as funding for major programs like federal unemployment insurance and subsidized health care for the unemployed runs dry.

So there's a longer story on HUFFPOST dot com about all the unemployment and medical expense benefits being stopped SEPTEMBER 1.

If that's your situation, you should read that story. Hurry, get vaccinated and find a job.

I expected this. This president has made it his mission to rescind and destroy everything the former President did. It feels like he is only a tool of the devil to rain down suffering on people that live here.

What is he giving away to the thousands of refugees flooding into this nation? We need to get back to work before all Our jobs go away to them. It's confusing too. Wall crossers are not vaccinated. Be careful.

Fred, thanks for your input. I disagree with "repent and be baptized" = that was God's Previous Dispensation, Under The Law. Today is GRACE, hear, repent, and believe The Gospel Of GRACE ( 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9). The ONE Baptism of Today is in this Discussion:

Precious friend Paul. There is no need to "make excuses and creative rationalizations in effort to disobey God." There is however A Great Need To "study God's Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided, to Be APPROVED Unto Him" ( 2 Timothy 2:15), Correct?

Since water adherents say "God Says YES, water IS for today," then do they All not have THE Severe Problem of "deciding" WHICH of the following is "obeying God"?:

    1) believe AND be baptized {i.e. immersion to contact their Christ's blood}?

    2) immersion with a symbolic interpretation?

    3) immersion ONCE in the "name of Jesus?

    4) immersion THRICE in the "name of the Triune Godhead?

    5) immersion {whether once or thrice} for "membership" in their traditional assembly?

    6) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into religion washing away their original sin?

    7) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into some covenant?

    8) sprinkling water on babies inducting them into their parent's custody that they promise to raise them right? {into Mass Confusion?}

    9) sprinkling water on babies, admitting that their ritual is UNscriptural, but "we do it anyway, because it is OUR tradition!"?

    10) pouring water onto babies or adults for Whatever traditional reasonreligion "can come up with"?

Q: How is this any different than the "carnal DIVISION" that Paul addresses in 1 Corinthians 1:9-17 = "I am a catholic, methodist, presbyterian, baptist, etc..." Carnality Certainly Cannot "Be PLEASING/APPROVED By God," and OBEYING Him, Correct?

Conclusion: According to All Scriptures {see my postings to Clayton, Chris And Rick}, Prayerfully And Carefully "studied Rightly Divided, being in UNITY" ( Ephesians 4:3-6) With "God's ONE Baptism, BY The Holy Spirit," showing God's AnswerOf "NOwaterFor Today,"IMMEDIATELY And Absolutely VanquishesALL THIS Confusion Of ContradictionsInto OBLIVION! Correct?

    Have a good day.

  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Rick, I believe you don't think all our choices are from the Spirit, because lots of our choices are bad.

Why don't you think the Spirit would cause us to made bad choices, if those bad choices were NECESSARY to make us complete. Psalms says God gives us a experience of evil to HUMBLE us. Humility is a necessary quality that has to be formed in us.

The word says ALL THINGS (good and bad) work together IN THOSE who love the Lord.

Comments by Alex about water Baptism, When ya start Preaching Water baptism for the remission of sins you are in essence saying the Cross was just foolishness ( to them that are perishing ) But unto us it is the power of God. I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and bring to nothin the UNDERSTANDING OF THE PRUDENT . As Jesus said these things are hid from the wise and prudent but revealed unto babes which is our new innerman that has to be born in us via his seed the H.G. Read 1 Cor. 1 : 18 kjv. Also Thats y Paul feared to preach water baptism,he feared it wd make the blood the Cross of no effect. Thats what ALSO Peter was doing commanding water baptism after that Jesus had give his life his blood for humanity, Washing us with the ultimmate cleanser. baptism of the H.G..Thats y the Lord was so upset with Peter telling him what I HAVE MADE CLEAN BY HIS BLOOD ETC DO NOT CALL COMMON OR UNLCEAN. Thats what Paul was preaching the power of God is in the cross the blood not in water baptism. Judas and Peter were both water baptised. No way was water baptism ever the ultimate baptism lest our lord died in vain. k lemme go
  • Rick - In Reply - 4 years ago
Chris In 1 Corinthians 12:13 we were all baptised by one spirit, something to keep in mind baptism by spirit is totally internal baptism by water is external, that being said if someone wants to baptise in water o.k. to me it's not a debate. That being said God Bless In His Service
