I was lead to stop what I was doing and to respond again, to provide Biblical references. Out of many the following scriptures stood out to me:

The five smooth stones are part of a Rock ( 1 Corinthians 10:4) i.e. Jesus Christ . So Jesus Christ is nothing but word of God ( John 1:1 & 14). Matthew 21:44 Its a weapon and Lord has given us spiritual weapon to fight against all demonic powers against us. They are 1. Faith : Hebrew 11:1,6 Hebrews 12:2, Galatians 5:22(F.O.S), 1 Corinthians 12:9(G.O.S) Ephesians 6:16(A.O.G), Matthew 17:20 2.Word of God: John 1:1, Psalms 107:20, Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 4:12 3. Prayer : Jeremiah 33:3, Matthew 17:21 4. Anointing : Isaiah 10:27, 5. Obedience : 1 Samuel 15:22. If we have this five spiritual smooth stones which formed from Jesus , we can overcome this world. ( 1 John 5:4). David had faith in the Lord and put it into action, also had the special horn anointing to break all the yolks by obeying to the voice of the God. David was a man of prayer. Big things comes in small packages. Victory is ours.

why no healing?

I have asked for the gift of healing as I would love to empty a children's hospital and so far nothing.

well sometimes the answer is no for various reasons

In Matthew 17:21 someone had a devil and the apostles would not cast it out.

Jesus said in Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

sometimes prayer and fasting is needed

Paul was given a thorn in the flesh and asked for healing and was told no

2 Corinthians 12:8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.

sometimes it is for our benefit as hard as that is to believe

Jesus did not do healing and miracles because of the people's unbelief

Matthew 13:58 And he (Jesus) did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

sometimes we get a no cause the people who want healed have no real faith

other times people get sick cause of sin, like with adultery they get aids or venereal diseases

one can be forgiven, but still must live with the sins consequences

sickness from eating the wrong foods i.e. Bible health laws is not a salvation matter, it is a health matter.

In China they often eat bats, rats and anything that moves it seems.

and sometimes the answer is just plain no for reasons we do not understand...yet.

Ann - I respectfully hold a totally different view believing that John, the apostle, is the person referred to - not John Mark. Neither of us is likely to change the others view, but I feel sure we can agree on Jesus Christ as our Savior.

All the references to "the disciple whom Jesus loved" are in the book of John. While the Gospel of John does not specifically identify its author, and "the disciple whom Jesus loved" is nowhere explicitly named in Scripture, early Christians universally recognized John, the apostle, as the author of the Gospel and "the disciple whom Jesus loved." This is consistent with internal evidence in the Gospel of John

John and brother, James were called to be disciples of Christ while they were fishing with their father, Zebedee. They immediately left to become members of Jesus' original group of the twelve.

James, John, and Peter seemed to be the most intimate of Jesus' apostles accompanying Jesus on special occasions. Matthew 17:1 says, ... and led them up a high mountain by themselves. Because of their favored relationship with Jesus, James and John sought special position in what they erroneously assumed to be Jesus earthly kingdom in Mark 10:37-38: "They replied, 'Let one of us sit at your right and the other at your left in your glory.'

James eventually died as a martyr for Christ and John died a natural death after living in exile on the Isle of Patmos.

One of the most reflective statements of the closeness between Jesus and John was in the last moments of Jesus' life when Jesus asked Jesus asked John to care for his mother after His death. John 19:26-27

John, as an apostle of Jesus, not only wrote his eye-witness account of experiences with Christ which were recorded in his gospel, but also wrote the books of 1 John, 2 John, 3 John and the book of Revelation.

GOD said before John the Baptist: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased ( Matthew 3:17)." GOD later said, before Peter, James, James' brother John, Moses, and Elias--who IS John the Baptist: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him ( Matthew 17:5)." If we want to obey God, and "hear...him (His Beloved Son Jesus Christ), one of the things the Lord Jesus--our Savior said was this: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you ( Matthew 6:33)." The Lord Jesus Christ IS NOT a liar, for GOD CANNOT LIE! Lying IS a sin, and neither GOD the Father, nor GOD the Son, nor GOD the Holy Ghost (GOD's Holy Spirit)

"21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." This kind of unbelief ... Does not go out but by prayer and fasting.

The words of Jesus, not God the father, are presented in red. This is a common to help readers know more easily which quotes are Jesus speaking. You can also read the KJV without it if you don't prefer red, or it will appear different shades depending on your device or monitor settings.

The writers of the bible only put Jesus words in red text, not Gods.

if you be willing to read on in Matthew 7,8,9 you will see that the LOrd instruct them not to tell the VISION to no-one So jesus also touched them to wake them up and said do not be afraid... it was a vision not the presence...

3 And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. How can Moses and Elias which was dead be talking to Jesus? They were resurrected and brought down from heaven for this purpose.

He had to do it in order to fulfill all righteousness, you know every jot, and tittle.

The red text was added by the writers that translated the bible so that we know when Jesus is speaking. not God or the angels that also speak to us . I don't think it was wrong that the writers did it. They didn't change any words.

I agree with your point. There are many instances where God spoke and the words are not in red. Take for instance the Genesis account where God spoke words which were so powerful that they created things, yet, none of those words was highlighted. Please remember that the bible was compiled by humans who have their individual interpretations and preferences.

It's common to have Jesus' words in red among many Bibles throughout the world. To make an assumption that any quote not in red is somehow less important is a false conclusion. All the words of the Bible are important.

notice how jesus words are in red, but not the text of the voice in the clouds "this is my son in whom I am well pleased..." my inner voice is telling me that maybe it's not that important..probably more like "coffee talk"

I am there. 13 years married, and suddenly nothing. I have wanted to just walk away because it's the easy thing to do and start over. But we have a child. Malachi as in hebrew it means "my angel" or "my messenger" so it is a book speaking of three messengers 1- John The Baptist in Mal 3:1 who was to come before the convenent messenger 2- Jesus-Christ "the Messenger of the convenent" 3- Elijah who was to come to forerun the second coming of Jesus-Christ. In Matthew 17:11 we can see the two tenses which were used by the Lord to show the two prophets

The, "whosoever," in Mark 8:35 does not refer to you, it is a reference for Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can save you, you can't save yourself. Remember, you don't haver the faith of a mustard seed... Matthew 17:20.

The Bible literally says Jesus is the son of God the father so that's why I believe it. Matthew 17:5

ch. 17: Clearly the disciples still did not recognize Jesus as Messiah. Neither did they understand that he had to press on to Jerusalem and suffer and die so that he could rise again. Verse 5~Jehovah God made it known that he expects us to listen to his son. We can listen to Jesus by examining his teachings in the Bible and then working hard to apply them.

The complexities of the words help the masses to know the Lord's will. I think it's the best way of speaking out on God's grace. And these words are life if they are applied in a forthright fashion. The grace, mercy,peace and benevolence of our Lord and saviour be with you all. So I end with may God bless you keep you make his shine upon you and give his peace. 7 And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid. (once again we are reminded of another deadly-enemy named fear; this 'fear' is a professional in rendering us ineffective in the work of Jehovah /GOD and our personal daily tasks;
