Discuss John 8

A very good, helpful and accurate word you have shared brother Giannis. This is something that affects all of us: self-righteousness, though carefully masked by us, is still something we must be alert to and expose, lest another do the job for us and we see our sin and feel the shame.

Your example of the 'righteous' Jews condemning that adulterous woman in the very act ( John 8:3-11) is very apt, concerning self-righteousness. As you understood the 'beam' in one's eye as the "lens of judgement", I've seen it in a similar way, as when one has a cataract in the eye. And this has become more clear to me (no pun intended) in recent days as my wife has just had her second cataract surgery done. Because of this event in our lives, I wondered if we could apply that 'mote and beam' spoken by the Lord to what a person experiences with the onset and progress of cataract growth in the eye. The slow growing cataract will eventually become like a beam in the eye where sight can be seriously compromised, even lost, if not attended to; and most of us will have to get that surgery done at some point in our lives.

My optometrist assures me that mine are still very small and insignificant, but we have to be watchful (!). But if allowed to grow without correct diagnosis and treatment (removal), sight will eventually be lost. Jesus gave these Jews an opportunity to be healed of their poor distorted vision. They thought their vision was absolutely clear under the 'lens' of the Law (and so it was), but as always, our Lord always takes us to the heart of the matter, in this case the 'eye of the matter'. Under OT Law, which they were still governed by, the punishment was clear. But Jesus was here now, the God-provided Transition between the Law and His immeasurable Grace. And this transition required the Jews, and all, to examine themselves first, and if we do, we find no authority to condemn another. Jesus began their healing process when they walked away convicted. Blessings.

    Hello Tim2u,

I would like to share a few things on top of what GiGi has already shared with you but if you can please share why, you say this section is often misunderstood, mistaught, misquoted, and misapplied, that would help in knowing where you're coming from. Can you please share your understanding of John 8:1-11 and some of the misunderstandings and false teachings you have discovered?

Thank you so much ahead of time, and blessings to you in Christ!

    Dear Tim2u

Reading John 8:1-11 we read of how the religious leaders and other Jews drug out a woman who was engaged in adultery into the street to stone her as the Mosaic law requires.

However, this day, this woman met the one and only person who could bring her salvation and forgiveness. Jesus chose not to condemn her. That day she encountered grace upon grace from the giver of grace! We don't know what happened to this woman thereafter, but because of our Lord's words to her, I do think that she was one of lost sheep of Israel who was among Jesus' sheep. One who Jesus came to save.

He knew exactly what she was doing with the man before she was drug out as well as how she lived all of her days prior to that day. He knew her through and through and was merciful to her. He told her to go and sin no more. Perhaps these words to her were the divine words that freed her from the sin that bound her. Perhaps she became one of the woman who followed Jesus from then on out. I hope so. But we will not know this side of heaven.

For us who believe, we need to be merciful to others also. We need to offer the grace of the gospel to those who are actively sinning before us and refrain from judging them harshly. Should they respond to the gospel offer, then praise be the Lord! We need to be humble in such circumstances and approachable to such people who are bound in sin as we once were.

Anyway, these are my thoughts on this passage. I am not sure how you wish this discussion to go, but I can say "This is a starting point."

In the gospel of John 8:1-11 are verses that are commonly too often miss understood, miss taught, miss quoted, and miss applied. What do you think?

    Hi Gerald,

    continuation - part 3

    3. The Voice of the Enemy (Satan, Demons, The World)

The Bible clearly identifies a voice of temptation, accusation, and deceit that opposes God.

Genesis 3:1-5: The serpent (Satan) is the first voice of temptation and deceit, questioning God's word: "Did God really say?... You will not certainly die."

John 8:44: Jesus said about the Devil: "He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies."

1 Peter 5:8: "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." The "roaring" represents the voice of intimidation, fear, and accusation.

1 John 2:15-16: The voice of the "world" (value systems contrary to God) is also an influence: "Do not love the world or anything in the world... For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world."

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;"

    3. The "Better Thing" ( Heb. 11:39-40)

The OT saints did not receive their promises yet. Why? Because resurrection and kingdom blessings await Christ's return (cf. Dan. 12:2; Matt. 19:28). The "better thing for us" refers to the new covenant and Christ's finished work-blessings that must come through Messiah before anyone (Israel or the Body) is made perfect. But dispensationally, Israel's perfection comes in their kingdom ( Acts 3:19-21), while the Church's completion is at the Rapture ( 1 Thess. 4:13-18). Both groups are perfected in Christ, yet their destinies differ.

    4. Heavenly Jerusalem ( Heb. 12:22-24)

The "heavenly Jerusalem" is the capital city of Israel's kingdom hope ( Rev. 21:10-12). Hebrews addresses believing Jews who will inherit that city as part of their program. The Body of Christ, however, is said to be "blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places" ( Eph. 1:3), and our conversation/citizenship is "in heaven" ( Phil. 3:20-21)-not tied to Jerusalem.

    5. Distinction of Destinies

Israel (believing Hebrews, OT saints): Inherit the land forever, centered in New Jerusalem, under Christ's reign ( Gen. 17:7-8; Isa. 60; Ezek. 37:21-28; Rev. 21:2, 12).

Body of Christ (believing Gentiles and Jews today): Caught up to heaven before the Tribulation, seated with Christ in the heavenlies ( Eph. 2:6-7; Col. 3:1-4; 1 Thess. 4:16-17).

Unbelieving Hebrews: Like any unbelievers, they face judgment and eternal separation ( John 8:24; Rom. 9:6; Heb. 10:26-27). Scripture does not promise them an earthly "second chance" destiny.

Key Scriptures supporting the dispensational distinction

Israel's promises are earthly: Gen. 13:14-15; Jer. 23:5-8; Ezek. 37:21-28.

The Church's hope is heavenly: Eph. 1:3; Phil. 3:20-21; Col. 1:5.

Israel's kingdom is tied to New Jerusalem on earth: Rev. 21:2, 10-12.

OT saints into Israel's kingdom program: Dan. 12:2-3; Matt. 8:11.

    Hello Cordellwbeesr,

If your "battle" is with believing that Jesus is God, may I suggest the following scriptures for your consideration:

    Genesis 1:1 along with John 1:1-3, Revelation 19:13, Colossians 1:15-17, Matthew 1:23, John 10:30, John 14:9, Mark 2:5-7, John 8:58, John 20:28, Isaiah 9:6, Philippians 2:5-7, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16, Hebrews 1:8, 2 Peter 1:1, Revelation 1:8, John 5:18, 1 John 5:20, Luke 24:52, John 9:38, Acts 10:25-26, Titus 2:13, Hebrews 1:3, Revelation 22:13, Micah 5:2, John 17:5, John 1:14. There are more, but these should suffice.

You mention that "Christians say that there is no separation between Christ and God," and that the bible shows otherwise. Jesus said I and my Father are one, and He also said that if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father. This may not mean anything to you, but in the book of Hebrews, Jesus is described as the APOUGASMA (the out beam) of God's glory, God projecting Himself through the time/space factor in the person of Christ. Jesus Christ, being God, was never separated from the source. This is why Jesus can say if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.

The best example I can give would be taking a flashlight in a dark room and shining it on a wall. The flashlight is the source, and the light is projected on the wall from the source. There is no separation unless the flashlight is turned off. Now, imagine the flashlight being God, and the light shining on the wall is Jesus, again, no separation. Jesus is said to be the true light which came down from heaven, the APOUGASMA of God.

If you are sincerely struggling with the deity of Jesus Christ (Him being God), I hope these scriptures I've provided might help. Also, if you would like, I can share my personal understanding on Matthew 26:39 and Luke 22:42 and why Christ would ask this.

If I may ask, are you a Christian? If so, who do you say Jesus is?

To all that be in Christ!

    Some of my Testimony.

I struggled to release denominational biases for years because those frameworks shape how I read Scripture, form spiritual identity, and connect to family and culture. From childhood I was taught doctrine inside a closed system, reinforced by trusted teachers and community traditions. To question those teachings felt like betraying heritage or dishonoring my loved ones. Emotional ties run deep-beliefs are woven into weddings, funerals, and milestones-so challenging them made me feel like unraveling my own history.

My pride and fear intensified the struggle. Pride resists correction, while fear worries about rejection, isolation, or uncertainty. My Denomination provided belonging and order, so leaving or adjusting beliefs felt like stepping into chaos.

Then I realized Paul's testimony speaks directly to this. He had the highest religious standing-circumcised the eighth day, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Pharisee of Pharisees, zealous and blameless concerning the law ( Phil. 3:4-6). Yet when Christ revealed Himself, Paul counted all of it as "dung" that he might win Christ ( Phil. 3:8). Taking this to heart was a radical release from religious identity for me.

Most cannot do what Paul did, because denominational ties function like his Pharisaic pedigree-providing worth and stability. But Paul shows that true freedom comes when Christ alone is our confidence. If He is the center, everything else can be loss. Until that shift happens, denominational biases will cling tightly to anyone.

In the past I filtered verses through bias, highlighting what fit my group and ignoring challenges. That took humility to face. Now I no longer rely on tradition, but let Scripture interpret Scripture. Comparing passages in context corrects assumptions and brings truth into clear focus.

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." ( John 8:32)

    Grace and Peace.

    Hi Joseph,

Your question was not directed specifically to me, but if I may share this with you, EGO EIMI is Greek for I AM. There are several places in the bible where Jesus refers to Himself as the "I AM" or EGO EIMI of the Old Testament.

One place we find EGO EIMI is in John 8:58 where Jesus says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am." More literally, "Before Abraham was in existence, I AM in existence!" Before Abraham was in existence, I was already in existence and always had been. Jesus is the "I AM," the EGO EIMI of the Old Testament!

Lord God, we lift Sarah up to You now. You see her struggle with alcohol, the toll it's taken on her body, and the deep places in her heart that need Your healing touch. We ask for complete deliverance: for her and her fianc (B) Break the bondage of addiction, Lord, and renew their minds and bodies. Heal her liver, regulate her cholesterol, and restore her health. Draw them both into Your presence, where true freedom is found. Replace every craving with a hunger for You, and surround them with truth, help, and grace. In Jesus' name, amen. More on God's purposes for judgment

The concept of God allowing bad things to happen surely; as it were is on steroids today and not exactly diminishing in the Tribulation. We see verses where Christ discusses the fall of the tower of Siloam as well as the horrific experience of those killed due to Pilate's insanity ( Luke 13:1-4). Frankly I haven't heard any commentaries regarding exactly how either of these events went down although what happened to the Galileans isn't something I'm in any rush to examine further.

It is edifying in the sense that these passages show Christ was aware what was happening outside of the immediate parameters of His ministry. He used parables primarily; especially later on during His ministry with the Pharisees to bring out their hypocrisy with very specific wsys that they were "lording it" over the populus.

I already elaborated as to the overall reason for the time of Jacob's Trouble; or otherwise known to the world at large as the Tribulation. The Jews and Gentiles at that time are separately dealt with and judged as I also pointed out the other day.

Jesus wasn't playing when He mentioned coming back to rule and reign and killing His enemies ( Luke 19:27) The parables avoid specificity as to inditing any specific individual; and this is further evidenced by His silence with Pilate during his inquisition before He was crucified. He seemed to talk in the third person a lot; such is the concept of John 8:37. The same idea of course of Parables involved the righteous and blessings which are proclaimed in the "Sermon on the mount". We need to carefully examine these passages to avoid improper judgment of behaviors and attitudes of any individual "before the time" as their current state may or may not be permanent depending on if they come to faith or not. All that being said the church is to judge among its own; righteously but for the sake of jealousy for His Name and presence in the House of God.

More on fear of death and Satan's strongholds...

In walking with God Jesus allows the enemy to gain strongholds on us because of unrepentant sin. This seems like a no brainer and a concept we all should understand but there is much to be learned about the enemy's tactics.

Again; I am absolutely convinced that this is one of the Lord's chief ways of sanctifying us. On one hand we are instructed in general as the woman caught in adultery to "go and sin no more" ( John 8:11). Now this was a case specific LIFESTYLE sin where she came within the brink of death; it reminds us of the man killed who had been a paralytic for decades not to sin anymore lest something "worse" happen to him. ( John 5:14). In this case we see a man healed although we don't know if he was saved; as with many other individuals. For a believer as I stated in an earlier post today an early demise isn't outside of the realm of possibility for us. The idea here is that it is a chastisement; for instance in 1 Corinthians 5:5.

Now we don't know necessarily if someone is a false convert to begin with (a tare) or a believer in Christ. God could take out a tare as well but in general when we see those in lifestyles of sin who likely are tares they don't have any conviction from the Spirit except to avoid being caught and God lets them build up wrath until fully ripe; as it were in their sins. The basic point here is that a TRUE BELIEVER IS God's child; whether making it into heaven with great reward or as through the fire. It is a pathetic thing when the latter happens but often ignored is the idea of spiritual maturity and the loss of those who will forfeit eternal rewards ( Rev. 3:11). What there won't be is any desire to argue with God or those who will rule as kings and priests; at least during the Millennium. Don't get me wrong ALL of us will be ever grateful to be with the Lord but nonethess ( Heb. 11:6) shows we must believe He is a rewarder which implies crowns in heaven.

Hello dear "T-rex" in peace, nice and see that you are here with us. For guidance and encouragement. This is a very relevant topic. Because it talks about sin. I think how hard it is to condemn myself. I can hardly see it, or it may take a long time for it to become apparent. Could it come from the Holy Spirit? So why is it so obvious that a sin is a sin? But we know that sin is not judged by degree. Sin is sin. If Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Joh 14:6 Then we can also see that the Father is not involved in this context. Jesus is the one who will judge the living and the dead. Acts 10:42

I don't think the work of salvation is difficult at all. And in my mind we have one way to death and that is to deny the Lord Jesus whom God sent to us. And it is good with admonitions and warnings that we must walk on the narrow path. Because Jesus says so himself. Joh 7:21-23 Why does the Lord say this? What does He want us to do?

But God who had given up hope for us all because our sin ascended to Heaven. Had to do something drastic. Therefore He had to send His own Son. Because He wanted everyone to be saved through Him whom He sent. Then we have those who talk excessively about sin, many confuse people with manic thinking. (Manic is a spirit of confusion, which spreads as easily as bitterness). When the Lord Himself wants us to be free. For the Spirit helps us not to sin truly, the Spirit never wants us to give up the spirit, then it will lead to death. As long as there is life there is hope, also for those who have allowed all kinds of evil. Here then grace comes in and the Holy Spirit will constantly try and remind the chosen ones that there is grace upon grace. Belive in Jesus.

I don't want this to create a "cry of outrage." But I expect some backlash anyway. "smilesign". See here what Jesus says: John 8:31-36 The slave here is what leads to death. The Jews didn't see Jesus, right? Love u in Christ.

Some concluding thoughts on persecution during Christ's earthly reign

Remember what I told you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.'[a] If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. ( John 15:20)

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. ( 2 Timothy 3:12).

Let us summarize several types of persecution:

    1. Verbal: Accusing Christ of working with the power of Beelzebub ( Matthew 12:24)

Accusing Christ of illegitimate birth ( John 8:41)

Accusing Christ of blasphemy ( John 10:33 when they attempted to stone Him for claiming to be God

Accusing Christ of being a glutton and alcoholic (implied with response in Matthew 11:18-19) when He ate with

    "sinners"

    2. Physical Numerous attempts to stone Jesus; throw Him off a cliff; etc.

    3. His trial

Twisting prophetic statement of destroying the Temple and rebuilding in 3 days ( Matt. 27:39-40 quoting statement made way back in John 2:19

Mocking Him with regal garments; beating Him with a rod; smashing a crown of thorns on His head; beating with a whip of metal and glass shards; spitting at Him; forcing Him to carry the cross until collapse; and the crucifixion which also involved the Jews urging Him to be crucified and releasing a murdurer; mocking Him again to "get off of the cross"; jeering from those crucified alongside Him; and many other things.

I am abbreviating this study as one needs only to read the Gospels to get a sense of the intensity of the trials which Christ endured for the sake of the elect and His disciples and to do the Father's will; first and foremost. Persecution and death for the Apostles and many in the early church is good reading also to see how true revival often is birthed.

    Agape.

    Persecution to come.

This after a brief consideration of the matter is likely to be another "blockbuster" series of postings (at least in volume) as there is much to be said on the subject. I would venture to say that after the concept of the Creation of man; and God's redemptive plan that it is; in one form or another a theme taking up large amounts of Scripture and I'm surprised really that I haven't done a study on that specifically.

The logic here reminds me of C.S. Lewis where he discussed Christ as being a liar; lunatic or telling the truth. That is in Mere Christianity and I believe the subject at hand warrants the complete quote.

"I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him [that is, Christ]: 'I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept His claim to be God.' That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic-on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg-or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronising nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

If anything needs to be heard in many so called churches today about the veracity of Christ's exclusivity as the "I am" of scripture this quote is most applicable (see John 8:58). Some don't seem to understand this basic truth that God was implying He was God in the flesh despite the clear meaning of His preexistence to Abraham in this verse which demonstrates His presence before time began. This is the prime bone of contention; no doubt because of Satan's envy of Him.

    4. The understanding of a Tripartite God by Israel/Jews would be absolutely unthinkable ( Deuteronomy 6:4). It was only after Jesus appeared, and Him making His Father known to His people, and by His Words, His Life & powerful ministry, would cause some to believe & accept His Words that He "proceeded forth and came from God" ( John 8:42).

Not only Jesus' teaching to His disciples and to all those who would give ear to His Words, but those apostles (and Paul), would then further teach & impress upon the hearts of the Church that Jesus was indeed the Christ from God ( 1 Corinthians 8:6). In my understanding, Jesus Christ had to be wholly Divine & Human - purposed by God for that great Sacrifice to be acceptable to the Him. Any other creation, whether of man or animal to be sacrificed, wouldn't cut it, for nothing else could demonstrate God's Love & a full & free redemption for all who would believe. And of course, the very real potential for failure would exist if a man was created specially for sacrifice. Would God then have a Plan B if that should happen? I don't believe so, it was everything of God or nothing; our redemption hung completely on God taking on flesh and paying the only price that could be paid to secure and seal our salvation. In this glorious act alone, we see & understand such undeserved Love for us sinners ( John 15:13). Blessings to you.

    Hey Keygbo,

The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the light of the world, and Lucifer (or Satan) is a fallen angel who became the Prince of Darkness through his rebellion. There is no biblical support for the idea that Lucifer and God the Father are both sons of God, with Lucifer being the firstborn. This idea conflicts with the clear teachings of Scripture that affirm Jesus alone as the Son of God.

Lucifer's origin: Lucifer was originally a high-ranking angel created by God, but he fell from grace due to pride and rebellion. The Bible makes no mention of Lucifer being a "son" of God in the sense of divine sonship.

Isaiah 14:12 (KJV) - "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!"

Ezekiel 28:15 (KJV) - "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee."

Lucifer was a created being, not a son of God in the sense of the relationship between God and Christ. His title "son of the morning" refers more to his brilliance and beauty as a created being before his fall, not to any sonship status like Jesus Christ.

The true Son of God (Jesus Christ): The Bible is clear that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, not Lucifer. Christ is the eternal Word who became flesh and represents the light.

John 1:14 (KJV) - "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the ONLY begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

John 8:12 (KJV) - "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Lucifer's rebellion: Lucifer's role as the "Prince of Darkness" is a result of his rebellion against God. He is the leader of the forces of evil, not a divine son, and his nature stands in stark contrast to Christ, the true Son of God, who represents light.

    Primrose,

I just finished praying you. My sister in Christ, you'll be alright, just don't lose the faith in God/Jesus/Holy Spirit.

Feeling very fatigued at times is not only just "life" as many have experienced, but it's also apart of this "narrow way" if we decide to chose to follow Jesus Christ ( Matthew 7:14). There are a number of things that could be the reason(s) of your current grievous situation (i.e. past and/or present sins, lack of faith in God's word, God could be testing/proving you, unforgiveness in your heart toward others, ect.). The more you seek God Almighty and Jesus Christ and fully surrender to God/Jesus, in time you'll be able to identify the root of the problems/issues in your life. After which, you'll find in God's word what specific action (solution) to proceed with.

When it comes to personal personal relationships, some people are meant to be in your life temporarily; Some are meant to remain in your life for a lifetime. Choose wisely on the company that you keep ( 2 Corinthians 6:14). Stop entertaining the negative/wicked people, thoughts in your mind and the feelings you have about not being dependable for people...it's all LIES and DECEIT of our adversary ( John 8:44). Focus ALL of your energy to God ( Matthew 6:33). FYI: After reading your prayer request, I can relate to your circumstances more than you know. What you're going through right now is temporary. I know it's extremely tough, but keep on pressing and don't quit. Endure to the end!

With God with you, you can't go wrong.... "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8:31 KJV

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." - John 8:36 "He sent out His word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave." - Psalm 107:20

Prayer for Ashley and CS' Transformation and Protection

In Jesus' Name, we declare that CS is stepping into his true identity: not as a failure, not as a mistake, not as a cheater, not as a a liar, but as a son of the living God, called to be steady, honest, courageous, faithful and kind. We proclaim that the chains of fear, deception, lies, and shame are falling off of him, for "you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." ( John 8:32)

Father, we lift up Ashley and CS' marriage to You. We decree that it will be a house of healing, a place of loyalty, a testimony of Your power, no evil one nor evil thing will ever come between them again, because "Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." ( Ecclesiastes 4:12) in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!

    Azzan77,

Thank you for sharing these verses. If I may also share this with you, in John 8:24, in the Greek text it does not have the word "he." In our English translation, the translators for some reason put the word he in there which is somewhat misleading.

But in the Greek text, John 8:24 just says EGO EIMI meaning "I AM." It is the name of God in Exodus 3:14 which you mentioned. In the Septuagint, the Greek OT, the same words EGO EIMI are used for God in Exodus 3:14. As you probably are aware, there are other places in the NT where Jesus referred to Himself as "I AM."

Again, thank you for sharing these verses.

    God Bless!!!

    Hi Azzan77,

Thank you for your reply. I understand and know the verses you have shared. Many on this site share the same understanding as you, and if we differ, we should be inspired to study, not to prove we are right and you are wrong, but in search of the truth. My understanding is that Jesus was the beginning of the creation of God, in the plan of God, Revelation 3:14.

Jesus was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 1 Peter 1:20. Everything started with Jesus; God, knowing the end from the beginning, says things that have not been as they have been, Romans 4:17.

We should pray and clear our minds of preconceived biases, as Jesus said, "he who has ears to hear, let him hear." John 8:24 is the same with us today, if we do not believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, who God sent and He shed His blood and died for us, we will die in our sins, John 3:16, Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9.

    God bless,

    RLW
