    GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD.

    Part 2

I stated, In the context of your posting, God so loved the world should be kept in John 3:16.

Gigi the reason I say that is because you contributed "WHOSOEVER" to only the elect when I mentioned it to Carlton as salvation being an invitation to all.

Whosoever thirst in Revelation 22:17 is the same whosoever in John 3:16.

God so loved the world is uniquely cosigned to John 3:16 because of what follows! "That he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"

Let's examine that verse and include the previous verses.

    14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

My questions to you would be, Jesus gave the example of Moses lifting up the serpent in the wilderness.

Was that to emphasize an elect or was it for the whole congregation?

And if God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that only the elect might be saved. When did he began to love them "after" he chose them or before?

If you're saying he loved them "before" he chose them then that would include "ALL" being that there was no difference between them all.

So, the whosoever is an invitation to All!

If he loved them after he chose them.

Are you saying God is partial?

It is getting late. See part 3 over the weekend as I read over a few more postings.

    Blessings.

    Hi Gigi.

I'm finally getting a chance to sit down to read a few more of your postings.

I haven't been able to keep up so I'm starting from the most recent and going backwards.

Here's something that caught my eye, You stated "believers are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the "HEAVENLY REALM" because we are united with Christ.

"We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are"

    Then you referenced

    Acts 15:11.

Look at this verse in its proper context!

Acts 15:7-11 "And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that THE GENTILES by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

    And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

And put no difference between US AND THEM, purifying THEIR hearts by faith.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ WE shall be saved, even as THEY.

Gigi, Peter is making a distinction between Himself and the other Jews (Kinsman of the flesh) and the Gentiles.

Peter is saying the Jews shall be saved apart from the law like the Gentiles.

Here's another very impressive issue that concerns me.

    You Stated;

God rains down grace on all mankind. He gave us the beauty and wonders of nature that we see each and every day. He gives us near misses when accidents are heading our way. He often brings us the right thing just in time. And He also gave us an innate conscience to know right from wrong. All these things are common graces, and everyone born on the earth has the benefit of them BECAUSE GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD.

In the context of your posting, God so loved the world should be kept in John 3:16.

    Please see part 2.

    GOD'S GRACE

    Pt. 2

The only way any of us can enter into a relationship with God is because of His grace toward us. Beginning in Eden when Adam and Eve sinned God restored them to fellowship with Him by His free grace. He could have killed the first humans right then for their disobedience. But rather than destroy them, He chose to make a way for them to be right with Him.

God is the instigator of grace, and it is from Him that all other aspects of grace flows.

God extends grace to those He elected while we all were His enemies ( Romans 5:10) by regeneration wrought by the Spirit.

He gives us forgiveness ( Hebrews 8:12; Ephesians 1:7), reconciliation ( Colossians 1:19-20), abundant life ( John 10:10), eternal treasure ( Luke 12:33), His Holy Spirit ( Luke 11:13), and a place in heaven with Him some day ( John 3:16-18) when we are called by the gospel and its offer and place our faith in Jesus and His work on our behalf.

Grace is God giving the greatest treasure to the least deserving-which is every one of us whom He has brought to faith and placed us in Christ. This redemption is forever and the greatest treasure is Christ Himself.

"Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need." ( Hebrews 4:16)

"But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." ( James 4:6)

We find the term "grace" throughout the Bible as a gift and action of God. But what is God's grace, and how does it relate to us?

We experience God's grace because God is gracious. In Exodus 34:6, when God shows himself to Moses, we read, "The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness." Gracious is used here as an adjective describing God. It is one of His attributes, describing who He is.

    GOD'S COMPASSION

    Pt. 3

In Luke 7:11-15, we hear of His compassion for the widowed who were especially vulnerable; therefore, He resurrected the widow's son and gave him back to her. In the case of Lazarus, Christ's compassion was so strong that He wept ( John 11). When Jesus arrived graveside, He raised Lazarus from the dead and gave him back to his grieving relatives. No doubt Jesus Himself rejoiced greatly over the return of His friend.

The pinnacle of Christ's compassion can be observed at the cross of Calvary where He lay down His life for the sins of the world ( John 3:16).

He not only showed concern for the suffering of people, He suffered for them and He took their suffering upon Himself to relieve them of their suffering for their own sins. Those who are drawn to put their faith in Jesus are born again spiritually and receive the Holy Spirit. We are made new creations in Christ ( 2 Corinthians 5:17). This enables us to love God and our neighbors.

Thank you for reading what I have compiled here in these posts.

The next subject concerns God's Love for Sinners.

    Pt. 1

    GOD'S LOVE FOR SINNERS

Most believers are familiar with John 3:26:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

But verse 18 is equally important

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.

This passage says that God does love the world. He loves all of his creation and creatures He made. His loving care of creation is stated over and over in Scripture. He is gracious to sinners. The sun comes up every day upon the wicked and those of faith alike. He sends rain in season and causes the earth to produce an overabundance of crops, trees, mineral resources, and all that is used by humanity over the ages. God's blessings abound throughout the world despite its corruption corruption from sin. John 3:16 encapsulates this truth. Verse 17 goes on to say that He sent His Son into the world to save it through Him.

God will redeem creation from the corruption of humanity's sin, though the earth and the animals are not responsible for this corruption and death, rather, humanity is. So God's love in a general sense is all-pervasive. In the particular sense, verse 18 speaks of those who believe receiving eternal life but unbelievers will be condemned under God's just judgment. They remain in their sins and the guilt, curse, wrath also remains on them. Since Scriptures state that God hates sin and sinners, then in the particular sense, His saving love only extends to believers whom He elected to salvation before creation.

Today I am posting on the next topic to follow the previous subject.

    GOD'S WRATH

    Pt. 1

God's wrath is His deep hatred and judgment upon sin and sinners. It shows how offensive sin is to His nature. His wrath against sin and sinners shows that He will not let sin be passed over completely. He will deal with it His way and in executing His wrath and condemnation He is glorified. ( Romans 1:18; Colossians 3:6; John 3:36) It is his settled, unchanging response that evil and sin will not stand against His steady, unrelenting, uncompromising antagonism to evil and sin. It is in perfect harmony with all of His divine attributes, being His holy action of retributive justice towards persons whose freely chosen actions deserve eternal condemnation. He is righteous in exercising His wrath. He alone determines how it is exercised because He is sovereign over all.

The wrath of God is a deeply biblical truth. In our secular age, God's wrath is a foreign and unwanted truth. However, the wrath of God against sin and upon sinners is revealed in Scriptures consistently across both the old and new testaments. We live in a day where humans set themselves as the judge with God's character on trial concerning His exercise of His wrath. People say: "Since God is loving He cannot be wrathful" or "God is not just or fair when He exercises His wrath on sinners".

These judgment upon God's character among believers demonstrate, first of all, a lack of humility and reverence for God for all He is, and second, a misunderstanding that somehow sinners are not responsible for the sins they commit and therefore do not deserve God's wrath or that God has forced people to sin by causing their human nature to become sinful when Adam and Eve sinned. But these thoughts are not biblical and do not allow one to truly grasp and appreciate God's redemption of those He elected to show His favor, mercy, and grace to, even though they are sinners.

Hello Carleton, Glad to hear from you tonight.

What I can say for certain is that I am so thankful that God has chosen me to receive His mercy and grace for my salvation!. Such a beautiful way to save us. It is all of God and none of me! We can never boast about our faith, our righteousness or having "chosen Jesus" because He clearly said that He chose us, not us choosing Him when addressing the disciples and that no one can come to Jesus unless the Father draws them to Christ our Lord. We are recipients of the greatest gift God can give us and we do not deserve it. But how glorious is His way of saving the elect!

John 3:16 says "Whosoever believes in Him (Jesus) shall be saved and not be condemned." The "whosoever are those elected by God for salvation and it is He who makes it happen for us through Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Hi GiGi. As with bros S. Spencer & Carleton, I appreciated what you had submitted & found it very sound, though my thoughts too focussed on your sentence, "And we must admit that He is free to show favor to whomever He pleases and to withhold it from whomever He pleases. ( Exodus 33:19; Romans 9:15)."

On its own, that Truth certainly stands firm without question. But the question that arises in my mind is: if that's all we had to go on, then God is indiscriminate in granting His Favor, Mercy, & Graciousness, and by extension, those not receiving that Love are consigned to complete estrangement from Him & His Salvation for no fault of their own since that was already His Will for them. To deal with such a thought & undergirding it with John 3:16 for example, that God loved the world (of sinners), I've always believed that there was something behind God's election of people, that caused Him to show or withhold favor to some & not others. Maybe this thought of mine goes outside the purvue of your submissions, but wanted to share, as you've invited comments.

As an example, & this would particularly be of interest to ex-military, our drill sergeant asked us to form a single line before him, with the tallest men at the ends, descending to the shorter ones in the center. From the left, each guy had to shout out numbers from 1, 2, etc. Then the command for only the odd numbers to take two steps forward (always had that one who forgot his number). And then with the two lines of men before him, the command given to turn right. What we had now were two lines of men that still maintained the height order that the sergeant wanted & without any other requirement (i.e. not character or expertise-based). This then would be an authority figure who randomly elected each one to a position in the squad, without any pre-knowledge or pre-qualification.

Should we understand God to also be so indiscriminate in selection, randomly appointing some to receive His Favor, others not?

Side note to the current conversation on elect.

When we examine one of the most familiar verses in the Bible written by John, ( John 3:16 )

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

In the previous verses " John 3:14-15" he relates this passage to Numbers 21:8-9.

    (14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

    (15) That WHOSOEVER believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

    HERE'S THE PARALLEL.

Numbers 21:8-9 "And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that EVERY ONE that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.

And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten ANY MAN, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.

With God's foreknowledge he knew who would look on the brazen serpent in the wilderness just like he knows who will believe in Christ.

What is elected in these passages is the way!

Moses lifted up the serpent to ALL of Israel! and ALL had the ability to see it.

    God bless.

The Bible describes a sequence of events related to the rapture and judgment, and there are different interpretations among Christians regarding these events. Here are some key points based on Scripture:

    1. **The Rapture**: The rapture refers to the event when believers are caught up to meet the Lord in the air. This is described in ** 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17**: "For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord."

    2. **Judgment**: After the rapture, believers will face the **Bema Seat Judgment** (or Judgment Seat of Christ), where they will be evaluated for their works and faithfulness, not for salvation. This is described in ** 2 Corinthians 5:10**: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil."

    3. **Who are Saved**: Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. ** John 3:16** states, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." Those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior are considered saved and will be with Him.

    4. **Final Judgment**: There is also a final judgment for those who are not saved, often referred to as the Great White Throne Judgment, described in ** Revelation 20:11-15**. This judgment is for those who have not accepted Christ and will result in separation from God.

In summary, after the rapture, believers will be with the Lord and will face the Bema Seat Judgment based on their works, while salvation is granted to those who have faith in Jesus Christ. If you have more questions or would like to explore this topic further, feel free to ask!

John 3:16-18 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." Apart from the work of Jesus Christ, every human is condemned to an eternity in hell ( Revelation 20:15). But God has freely offered the gift of heaven. What determines if a person goes to heaven or hell for eternity is whether that person has been reconciled to God through Jesus Christ ( Romans 4; Galatians 3:23-29; Hebrews 11).

Going to hell is the default position of humanity. Going to heaven is the free gift of God's grace, received by faith, offered to all people ( Ephesians 2:1-10). God wants people to be reconciled with Him, so He provided the way ( John 14:6). Every person is invited to go to heaven.

Going to heaven or hell has everything to do with God's act of rescue. When God created the world, everything was very good ( Genesis 1:31). He created humanity in His image. He provided food for them but told them there was one tree from which they were not allowed to eat. They were to trust His provision, follow His commands, remain in close relationship with Him, and experience fullness of life. But they were also free to disobey Him, which would result in death ( Genesis 2:15-17; Romans 6:23).God, I know that I have gone against your ways, that I rightly deserve condemnation. I know that you are loving, merciful, gracious, and just. I believe that you have made reconciliation possible. I believe that Jesus is the only Savior, and I submit to Him as Lord. I believe He is fully God, fully human, lived a perfect life, died on the cross for my sins, and rose from the dead bodily. I believe His sacrifice is sufficient for my sins.

Going to heaven-how can I guarantee my eternal destination?

    Answer

Face it. The day we step into eternity may come sooner than we think. In preparation for that moment, we need to know this truth-not everyone is going to heaven. How can we know for sure that we are going to heaven? Some 2,000 years ago, the apostles Peter and John were preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to a large crowd in Jerusalem. Peter made a profound statement that resonates even in our postmodern world: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved" ( Acts 4:12)

Many people today hold to a watered-down gospel that does away with the need for repentance. They want to believe in a "loving" (nonjudgmental) God who never mentions sin and who requires no change in their lifestyle. They may say things like, "My God would never send a person to hell." But Jesus spoke more about hell than He did about heaven, and He presented Himself as the Savior who offers the only means of going to heaven: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" ( John 14:6).

Who will actually enter God's kingdom? How can I guarantee that I'm going to heaven? The Bible makes a clear distinction between those who have eternal life and those who do not: "He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life" ( 1 John 5:12). It all goes back to faith. Those who believe in Christ are made the children of God ( John 1:12). Those who accept Jesus' sacrifice as the payment for their sins and who believe in His resurrection are going to heaven. Those who reject Christ are not. "Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son" ( John 3:18).

Bible says there is one and only one way to heaven-Jesus Christ. Follow Jesus' command: "Enter through

    Q&A "Abiding in Christ"

Q: "The breath of God made man a living soul and what does the Spirit of Christ signify for a believer?"

A: We shall consider the context first. "In the vision of John we read of the Lamb and we are examining him as existing in the divine Will. "And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth."(Re.5:6) How the world unseen shall be made to appear is what we shall see as the result of breaking open the seven seals. Compare with Prophet Zachariah whose vision is further in time and the apostasy of the nation of Israel has become established. Instead of the Lamb it is a stone we are looking at." behold, I will bring forth my servant the Branch./For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes." The seven horns indicate the Law of the Spirit and the seven eyes have set the entire earth under his watch.

God in making Adam is making every believer a living soul. Adam is created 'after our image" as well as "after our likeness" By the latter it is established the last Adam is after the likeness of the Word made flesh. First Adam is earthy while Jesus Christ is the Lord from heaven. Fall of the first Adam brought death upon the world,"and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." It is to which Jesus alluded in his colloquy with Nicodemus. He to be born again. He used the analogy of wind. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth."( John 3:8). In order to make the Spirit of Christ as personal faith is crucial. "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."(Ro.10:9-10). Without abiding in Christ the wind is no man's land.Ro.8:9-10

    Brother Chris,

I believe your application of the Greek word HOSEI used in Both Acts 2:3 and Matthew 3:16 is correct. There was a point early on in my walk with the Lord where I used to envision a pure white dove descending from heaven upon Jesus at His baptism. It seems so easy to miss some of those little catch phrases in our study of the word.

In Acts 2:3, it's interesting because they could see an appearance of these languages dividing up and it sat upon each one of them. What they actually saw I'm not sure, but I can't help but wonder why it would happen like this for them.

I also find it interesting that both fire and wind to a Jewish person represents the very Spirit and presence of God. We see the wind in Acts 2:2. As you're probably aware, the word wind and the word Spirit, both in Hebrew and in Greek is the same word.

I look back at John Chapter 3, where Jesus told Nicodemus that he needed to be born from above (experience a spiritual birth from heaven). And in John 3:8, Jesus says that it's like the wind, you don't know where it's coming from or where it's going to go afterwards.

It seems to me that He's interchanging wind with spirit, and the sound of the wind was to a Jewish person, the coming of the Holy Spirit. So, in Acts Chapter 2, here are Jewish people, in the upper room, they hear the sound of wind, and they have seen languages sitting upon each one of them (as of) fire sitting upon each one of them. Fascinating!

    Blessings to you also!

    Hi Jesse,

Brother in the highest respect I know we disagree on this you understand that the Son of God is a title. You said about huios; quote "doesn't have anything to do with somebody who is born from a woman. This is somebody who's been placed in a position of inheritance." end quote. To me that would be saying Jesus was figuratively the son of God.

The two Greek words you use huios and teknon. Huios means properly, a son by birth or adoption; Jesus was Son by birth and we as believers become figuratively a son/huios of God being adopted and heirs of the promise through the only begotten Son of God Jesus, 1 John 3:2 Romans 8:23.

Jesus was born of Mary by the Spirit of God and as Jesus grew, he knew who He was as he said in Luke 2:49 I must be about my Father's business.

We see in Luke 15:24 the prodigal son, his father told the servants his son/huios had returned, a son who was born of him and a mother. In this parable told by Jesus, the man called his other son/teknon who was born of the same father and mother. The word teknon means a child, a son, or a daughter.

In John 19:7 this is what the Jews said, they said he made himself the Son of God by saying Jesus just claimed to be the Son of God but was not, they rejected Jesus and did not believe Jesus was truly the Son of God, the Messiah, even after He was resurrected. I feel if we say Son of God is His title we also are saying Jesus is not the only begotten Son of God conceived in Mary by the Spirit of God.

1 John 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. In my understanding of this verse, if we do not acknowledge that Jesus was and is the Son of God conceived in Mary, born of the tribe of Judah a descendant of David, we denieth the Son. We must believe and confess that Jesus is the Son of God, we must believe on the name of the Son of God.

    In love, God bless,

    Hi Momsage.

May I ask, Where in scripture does it say speaking in tongues is the (EVIDENCE) of the Holyspirit being in us?

Also, If the Holyspirit is with us it's because he's IN us!

If you don't have the Holyspirit IN you you haven't been born again!

Do one have to speak in tongues to be saved? NO!

There's instances of some believers using the gift of tongues, but that does not teach that speaking in tongues is EVIDENCE of salvation.

None of the gospel presentations in the New Testament mention tongues.

    John 3:16-18

    Ephesians 2:1-10.

    Acts 4:12.

    Acts 16:31;

    Romans 10:9-13.

    1 Corinthians 15:3-8. Ephesians 2:1-10. ect

If speaking in tongues was necessary for salvation, or even the primary signifier of salvation, we would expect to read much more about tongues.

    We have been given Christ!

We have Christ spirit in us!

There's gifts of the Spirit and that is performed by one gift. CHRIST!.

There's also fruit of the Spirit.

That's what needs to be present in a believer. Fruit!

If it's evidence what one is looking for it should be fruit! That means you are connected to the Genuine vine as mentioned in John 15

God requirements for righteousness is perfect and the only way a believer achieves that is Christ righteousness imputed over unto us.

You are given a covering, (Robe of righteousness) to cover the imperfection within you!

You're not perfect and don't meet God's requirements without this covering witch is an atonement for your sins.

Just to think you are perfect in the flesh shows an sinful nature.

    1 John 1:8-9.

    Blessings.

    God bless.

    Hello Zerochaos85

Do not have doubts, there are some things in Scripture we cannot come to a firm indisputable answer. Scripture does not contradict Scripture man does that. 1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die. Then we have Hebrews 11:5 Enoch was translated that he should not see death. Then add John 3:13 no man hath ascended up to heaven, John 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father.

What is the answer? We must trust that the Holy Spirit will show us the truth we need and if we have doubts that will hinder the Holy Spirit. Can we come to an answer without any assumptions? In Hebrews 11:5 Enoch was translated, what is translated, the Greek word metatithemi means to transfer, to change, to fall away or desert from one person or thing to another.

Did God translate Enoch to heaven? Enoch should not see death; the Greek word here is Thanatos meaning a physical or spiritual death. So, did God take Enoch to heaven? Enoch was 65 years old when he had Methuselah, it says Enoch walked with God after he had Methuselah for 300 years. This could mean Enoch changed and his faith in God was strengthened and he was serving God and God saved him from spiritual death, not physical death. There are only two men before the flood who are said they walked with God, Enoch, and Noah.

We may not ever have all our questions answered there are things that God has yet to reveal. The main thing is not to have doubts, sometimes we can be so focused on an answer to something and be like a dog chasing its tail going round and round and just can't catch it. We can be distracted and not be focused on what God wants us to do at this time. I have done this in the past, just ease your thoughts on this and open your Bible to any random place and read and let God's word wash away any doubts you have. Lose the doubts and pick this up later it is not that important.

    God bless,

    Q&A "Sin"

    Q:

In John 1:29 Jesus is made manifet to take away the sin,-notice here the word "sin" is singular. This is the penalty of sin! Death. Separation from God." Did not Satan sin? Sin of pride I can cite. Adam's sin was in disobedience and God speaks of death. What determines sin?

A: "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law./And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin." The Law mentioned here is the Law of the Spirit. The Spirit gives the Law a face, for the simple reason:"For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell:(Col.1:19)

"In Jesus Christ was no sin. He was the Word made flesh, and was the emblem in the divine Will as the slain Lamb. So all the requirement for remedying sin was in the world unseen, and in the world made to appear, John the Baptist testified him as the Lamb of God. So all that fuss about the Law of Moses and animal sacrifices is mere smoke and mirrors as imposter churches make a case for supporting Israel in a war that is not from God. Little do they know of Scripture; nor do they want to be corrected. The Law of the Spirit sent Jesus as the fulfilment of the Law.

" He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil."(1 John 3:8)."The purpose is stated clearly, It is not to support Israel or any other ungodly nation.

God knew precisely who are His and who are of the devil. In Amos we have God dealing with Israel and their humbug.:Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:

3And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:"(Amos:9-2-4)

    ( Eternal ) life.

    1 John 3:20.

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Nevertheless, when our hearts are rightly related to Him, then there is a confidence given to us:

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. (v. 21)

Furthermore, when we are in His will, there are added tokens that we are His children:

And whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. (v. 22)

Answered prayer is an argument that one is a legitimate child of God. The prayer life of the believer is vital in assuring the soul of salvation.

    Love for the Brethren!!

A love for the brethren and a passion for the souls of men are evidence that we are children of God. One of the most convicting and confirming facts sealing assurance to the heart is love of the brethren. Scripture is positive at this point:

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. (1 John 3:14)

Animosity and hatred in the heart will rob the child of God of assurance. Malice toward another Christian produces bitterness of soul and is therefore not a fertile soil to cultivate assurance. Malice is condensed anger. Lack of love for another believer robs more Christians of real enjoyment and satisfaction in the Christian life than perhaps any other single factor. It not only blights the soul of the Christian, but it also destroys any public testimony:

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. ( John 13:35)

To love other believers is not elective:

These things I command you, that ye love one another. ( John 15:17)

Do not let a little root of bitterness rob you of assurance. Make things right with other believers.

    ( Eternal ) life.

    How Can I Know?

Having listed the main things that rob a person of the assurance of salvation, let's look at some things that are evidence of salvation.

    Desire to Obey

The child of God longs to obey God and to please Him:

And by this we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. ( 1 John 2:3)

This desire to obey God gives him an assurance that he is a son of God.

He wants to know the will of God, and therefore he wants to know the Word of God. So he goes where he can hear the Word of God:

Oh, how love I thy law! It is my mediation all the day. I hate vain thoughts, but thy law do I love. I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. ( Psalm 119:97, 113, 162)

He finds that he not only has an appetite for the Word of God, but he also begins to understand it, and thereby growth takes place:

But he that is spiritual judgeth [understands] all things, yet he himself is judged [understood] of no man. ( 1 Corinthians 2:15)

There are other tests that indicate to a trembling but trusting heart that he or she is a child of God. God urges us to make the tests so that we may have assurance:

Examine yourselves, whether you are in the faith; prove yourselves. Know ye not yourselves how Jesus Christ is in you, unless you are discredited? ( 2 Corinthians 13:5)

    Reality in Prayer.

A reality in prayer is evidence that we are children of God. There is a very remarkable statement in this connection made in the third chapter of 1 John:

And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. (v. 19)

As the child of God approaches the Father, a holy boldness confirms the heart. This is not presumption - it is the assurance that a child has in approaching a father. However, sin or some other impediment may make us hesitant and reluctant to approach the Father. God does not hear us because of our reluctance but because of Christ, and He hears us regardless of our condition:

    See part 8.

    ( Eternal ) life.

The Christian should come to the light, which is the Word of God. It reveals our sin, but it also shows us the remedy. The blood of Christ is still potent, and it is the basis of forgiveness for the sins of a child of God.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanseth us from all sin. ( 1 John 1:7)

The believer who walks in the light and discovers sin in his life knows that the blood of Christ keeps on cleansing him from sin; consequently, he goes in confession to Him.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. ( 1 John 1:9)

Immediately, fellowship is restored for the sinning saint. The family fellowship is resumed and confidence and assurance are restored. You see, the child of God is always disturbed by sin in his life, as he knows it breaks fellowship with God. In fact, the line of demarcation is drawn at this point between God's children and the devil's offspring:

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth [practices] not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (1 John 3:10)

Deliberate and continual sinning, without remorse or without repentance, is a clear indication that one has not come into the place of sonship. The child of God is distressed, disturbed, and distraught by the presence of sin. He hates the sin in his life and longs to be delivered from it. The presence of sin robs him of his assurance. The legitimate child of God can never compromise with the sin in his life.

    Ge.1:2 "Darkness" (1 of 2)

    "Darkness was upon the deep"

What is darkness? It is the absence of the light and we are here discussing it in spiritual terms. The natural light from the sun, moon and the stars belong to the world made to appear by the word of God. We shall keep this part aside while we discuss the unseen aspects of his Will. Darkness explains the state where the light of knowledge arising from the word is zero. It is a condition but not permanent. According to the word of God the Spirit moving upon the face of the waters separates one state from the other. God commanded and there was light. Just as He named it Day, he names the darkness, as Night.(vv.4-5). So in terms of light and darkness both are both alike to him. (Ps.139:12) So it is a matter of first and the last in theological term Matt.20:16. This quote is to be understood in this sense, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee."(Is.60:1)

Th word of God however spoken is beyond recall. The sign for the earthly ministry of Jesus was made manifest, for God made it known. "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up./From that time Jesus began to preach."(Matt.4:16-17;Ro.1:19-20). How did the nation of Israel respond to it? When in that awful night Jesus was seized for a malefactor Jesus put the finger on the spot,"When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness."( Luke 22:53). Literally in the cover of darkness they went about without a fair trial to judge him. The power of darkness stamped them as sons of perdition. John's Gospel sums it up, " In him was life; and the life was the light of men./And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."( John 1:4-5). The nation had the Law of Moses but that did not work with them. ( John 3:19-20)

    Is.6:6 "Seraphim/Cherubim" (2 of 2)

Compare this with the vision of Ezekiel, "and fill thine hand with coals of fire"(Ez.10:2). One of the Seraphim purges the lips of the Prophet as the cherub is assigned to pronounce judgment upon Jerusalem, And one cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubims unto the fire that was between the cherubims, and took thereof, and put it into the hands of him that was clothed with linen: who took it, and went out."(v.7) Law of the Spirit shall quell the law of sin whether in a man or in the world and spirit of the times. The Angel of His presence is signified by the man in linen. He does according to the Word. "And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which had the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me."(9:11). The Holy Spirit is unseen but works are obvious. "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."( John 3:8)

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his./And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness./ But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you."(Ro.8:9-11)

Function of angels ("Fellow-servant and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book,-Re.22:9) Cherubim and Seraphim are all the same:"Worship God"

    Re.13:11 "Sons of perdition"

"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon."

Before the throne of God the Spirit presents the Law of the Spirit given a body and it is a memorial. The voice came from the midst of the four beasts thatcame from the Word which is God.(Re.4:6) The covering cherub was judged so his throne is in whosoever lent his heart to advance his lies. The Beast was one such as Prince of Tyrus before him. Of the latter the pit is reserved."And thine heart is lifted up because of thy riches:/Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God;/ Behold, therefore I will bring strangers upon thee, the terrible of the nations: and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and they shall defile thy brightness./They shall bring thee down to the pit."(Ez.28:5-8).Anti-Christ is a son of perdition so Satan the father of lies gives him two horns and 'after our likeness' explains the label of 'anti-christ. He may pass for any minister of God in his deportment and also cite Scripture as Satan tempted Jesus, but the voice comes from the devil."He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. "(1 John 3:8)

This aspect of Son of man we see in the inaugural vision of St John." And his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters."(Re.1:14-15) Sound of many waters reveal the salvation aspect of the Word while the fire is an emblem of the Spirit and "Of Judgement because the prince of this world is judged."( John 16:8-11). "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived...These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."(Re.19:20)
