This passage of Scripture isn't condemning the whole earth as if there wasn't anyone doing good or not understanding nor seeking God. Therefore we have to observe the fruit or works to identify who is creating all the hell on earth and who is catching all this hell that is being created. Therein lie the truth. The sons of God were the descendants of Seth, those who had knowledge of the Word of God, but forsook the faith; their apostasy was the cause for the whole world's destruction; like today! Noah alone was left, of all who lived on the earth, who was righteous and walked with God, perfect in his generations. It took Noah 100 years to build the Ark; and the flood was in the year 1656 after creation.

Many look for help and pray to God, when fear of judgment and punishment for their sins comes upon them; but inwardly they have no heart for actually being converted, or doing Jesus' commandments. It is today like in Genesis 6: it was because of apostasy, and that the "sons of God" would no longer obey the conviction of the Spirit; that the whole of mankind was ruined beyond remedy, and destroyed.

Its not the type of Ark you are thinking about. Its would have been an advanced type of machine....I imagine so..not sure how I came to that idea though.

P - You have to understand that God is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. God is so outside our sphere of understanding. We just can't grasp how great He is; how wonderful, how huge and amazing He is. God would have provided everything Noah needed - he also showed Moses a picture of the Tabernacle so he would know how to build it. He has everything covered, we just need to trust in Him!

God said he would only tolerate (strive with) man for 120 more years. That's plenty of long suffering and time for repentance. The ark was huge with 3 stories. Don't forget dinosaurs. Seems likely and more prudent to have baby animals on board. AlSo the climate different before the flood. Had never rained; earth watered from a mist. God took care of it though we don't understand it all.

Susan, thanks for the answer, but I don't see how verse 3 refers to how long it took to build the ark and verse 14-16 are general instructions. the ark would have to be huge in order to fit 2 of every species on earth, including elephants, polar bears, giraffes as well as tapeworms and poisonous snakes. I was also wondering if there was any refrigeration for the penguins and the perishable food.

P, Genesis 6:3 says 120 years. Verses 14-16 give the specifics. The material it would be made of and the dimensions.

It took me and my neighbor 8 days to build a deck around my pool. Does anyone know how long it took to build the Ark? Where did Noah get all that wood? Did God provide blueprints ? I'm very impressed that a few people could build a gigantic structure like that without power tools and a calculator.

God is disappointed in the creation of man because man does not follow the way in his likeness. God plans to destroy man and spare Noah,s life and his family. Because Noah was perfect in his generation God used him in his plans for the future.

Jesus did say they neither marry nor or given in marriage but they are like the angels.

God is Omnipotent and Omniscient, He is everywhere and He knows everything. From the creation of man He has known everything you would do and every sin you would commit and patiently waits for you to accept Him into your life so He doesn't remember your sins anymore. I believe that the fallen angels were angels like Satan. This God had to destroy them for their wickedness. It wasn't meant for angels and earth woman to mate. End of story it wasn't his plan so he had to end their wickedness.

The Sons and Daughters of God is the person who admit thereselve that they are a sinner( Romans 3:10), repent from there sins( Acts 17:30) and knowing that Jesus Christ is there Lord and personal savior( John 1:12). If they receive Christ they will become his sons and daughters of God, and they receive "Eternal Life( John 10:28).
