'Son of God' is a metaphor in this verse as Adam wasn't born, he was created by God, Genesis 2:7. You can say God is metaphorically his father as he has no other father or mother. The actual son of God is Jesus who is also God. John 14:11

Do you think that "him," is used two times to include "the last Adam" in 1Col 15:45?
  • Kenneth Redden - In Reply on Genesis 2:18 - 5 years ago
Do you think that is may be because, Eve, begins with an E.

I am in the middle of looking for sources, but the term rest - in this verse means that he reigned from that moment on. He didn't go and take a nap. It meant that his kingdom was established. So he sat on his throne and reigned. That's why they kept sabbath because it was a reminder to the Jew's that on the days they did little to nothing, God is in control; nothing stops moving and God doesn't stop working.

Yes, it is your perspective. The Holy KJV Bible is about the days of the Creation, as given in Genesis 1. KJVText comes from the beginning, in Genesis 2:4 to the book of Psalms; the book of Psalms is for the second day and the book of Proverbs begins the third day, which continues throughout the NT. This logical format is demonstrated by the apostle Paul in 2Peter 3:3-8.

The reason why there appears to be sin in the KJVBible is because on the third day, Christ came by water only. It was not until the fourth day; Today, that He came by water and blood and sins are forgiven.

    5, 6, 7 9 15 16 17 18 20 21 24 25 so difficult and fun to pick my favourite verses but I think

Probably 6, 9, 16, 24, one of them, but I am not sure which, Incidentally, I would say that we can see God's purpose in this chapter.

Sorry for a late reply but I only saw t your reply today.Thank you for doing so.

I believe in Heaven and that we can go there and we can become angels; however, I would agree that no one orders angels around. I will however search Angels to see what the bible says.

LET US (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) crested Adam from dirt. Dirt because he would eat of the earth. God breathed into Adams nostrils & he became a living soul (mind, personality, will) and he was connected spiritually. As people who are born again are now.

We don't get to become angels; on earth or in heaven. People don't have power to order the angels around. You have to ask God for assistance.

I don't know what you read but some of the info is scrambled. Use the search box at the opening of this website and type in angels.

Thank you, I learned it the same way. Adam was a living soul; a little lower than angels and so it is interesting and I wonder what he had to therefore do to become an angel. Also what would have happened to him, if he lost his soul; and i would think that he would have had to continue to be good or learn how to be good or what is good, and do it to become as perfect as angels; and of course if he lost it; then I think he would have to go where men go that have lost their souls; and I think that we can learn what Adam was learning from God, in the Bible as best as we can; and we have Jesus who took our sins for forgiveness; and I expect we will therefore make it; but the job may be in stayin

For Peter: in Genesis 1:26..and God said, LET US make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness; and let them have dominion (over everything on earth) EXCEPT other man. No place did he give people dominion over each other. LET US means that Father, Son, Holy Spirit we're doing the creating. Adam was spiritually connected to God. Eve was made not from the earth initially; she was made from Adams rib. After Adam and Eve sinned the spiritual connection was severed. They had to leave the garden of eden. We descended from them: soul and flesh. Mankind waited for the Savior & Redeemer to appear in history. Being born again reconnects is to God, spiritually. This is how I learned it. Anybody else

So my first assumptions were wrong. Adam was the first man and the first living soul; but when he sinned; there was danger of him losing his soul That is what I should have thought about and compared with rather than with animals and with Adam before he became a living soul; and there isn't anything in the Bible as far as I know about anything having a soul before or even after except for man. That doesn't necessarily mean that nothing does as all it really means is that is not mentioned, if in fact, it is not.
  • Peter - In Reply on Genesis 2 - 5 years ago
and I agree with what you said in that regard; but there is far more to the Living soul and the Garden of Eden, in direct communication & obedience to their Creator, I think, than we realize. For example:

For example Man was created to replenish the earth Genesis 1:28; and Adam was blessed and told this and had dominion and could subdue all those other things as soon as he was created; That's intelligence; and if God give you something to do, you can do it. Adam started to do these things along with Eve as soon as she was created, and called woman.

( Heb 2:9) so interesting, and Jesus, in the image of man without sin, felt unbearable pain as He died for our sins. We all fear such pain and hope to die easy; and how interesting, that if God and or the angels were to come down to earth, the image that they would have taken, stands on 2 legs, has 2 arms etc, but was created a little lower than the angels and when you think about it; the reason is obvious as if he wasn't created lower; then we would all be angels but it's not bad being a little lower, we are all born very good just a little lower than the angels; however, in regard to the living soul, I thought the same as you, until I started to wonder what a living soul was; and I agree wi

Thank you very much. It was good information and I agree with it; but i did make a few wrong assumptions in my previous comments and your comments confirms some things i was thinking about where I reached the same conclusion. I will be adding a comments pointing out some false assumptions that I had and expanding on Adam and God walking and talking together. etc.. Thank you again because it was very helpful and assuring. I love it. Thanks

Peter, the word "Soul" often refers to a person (i.e. who you are). A human being in entirety is comprised of a Body (the physical structure), the Soul (the body given life) and the Spirit (the immaterial part that is akin to the mind, feelings, responses to outside forces, incl. God's Spirit or evil spirits). And yet, there can be some fusion in these parts. BTW, it was said of Jesus that He was made a little lower than the angels ( Heb 2:9): in regards to His humanity. To Adam & Eve: they were living souls who had no concept of good or evil as they were sinless in direct communication & obedience to their Creator. After succumbing to temptation, sin came upon them, & they knew good & evil.
  • Peter on Genesis 2 - 5 years ago
A living soul could however talk to God and God would talk with him, but he was a little lower than the angels (I think that it says that somewhere) but he did not have the knowledge of Good or Evil although he was born good and may have had some concept on what was good and what God did and said and made and what Adam saw, heard, tasted and smelled and felt was good. So he may have had some idea of what was good n but not what was evil. So that must be a living soul

Just good writing techniques. 1st we say what we are going to say and then we say it. One tells you things; and 2 tells you more about those things; and the writer does not have to tell us everything. God may have known our questions but if He had answered them all; the Bible would be mighty big, so big, you would never be able to read it all and so we would still not know the answer to our question; Maybe so big, it would confuse scholars as it sometimes does today. So the scholars and preachers read it but they may not know the answers to our questions. We can however discuss the Bible, but also we should take it by Faith.

What is the breath of life; and man became a living soul. A living soul is a soul that lives. So, I would say, that there must be souls that do not live. Man may have had a soul before but with the breath of life, he became a living soul. So what would the soul be? It must be something in all animals but man must have one that is living; and so it seems to be what ever the difference is between animals and men or I could probably say between animals and people. That must be the living soul; what ever it is.

Remember the old song we sing in church, Nothing But the Blood Of Jesus?
If demons are holding you down and another is holding your mouth shut....all ya got, is your spirit screaming I'm covered with the blood of Jesus!!
It's sorta like fire fire for fire help.
God hears it. You will be released! Hope you never have to use it! Spiritual warfare is very real. Keep your armor on at all times. Baby Christians need much prayer coverage by intercessory prayer Warriors. Jesus is seated at the right hand of God interceding for the saints. (On earth)
Anyone ever see that movie the War Room?'
If you are going to do battle in spiritual warfare, you must be baptized by the Holy Spirit.
  • Renee - In Reply on Genesis 2 - 5 years ago
Regarding pleading the blood of Jesus Christ, are there any scriptures in the New Testament found to support this phrase? I disagree with Genesis 2 because it did not explain the pleading of the blood.

God rested on the 7th day Genesis 2:3
Jesus ministered and healed people on Sabbath and had Pharisees on his back for it. There is no set law for what day to attend church. Just don't forsake (stop) gathering together which could mean church or small home groups; some elderly watch church on tv faithfully. Read first 2 chapter of Acts which shows the first meetings of Jesus's believers. It's cool.

    To Renee:
All newborn babies have their fathers blood type. Jesus DID NOT have Joseph's blood type. Mary conceived by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit. An angel told Joseph not to be afraid to marry her; that she had conceived by the Holy Spirit. Joseph and Mary did not have relations till after Jesus was born.
If his blood type was from God, that would make his blood very special.
I had been an astrologer. I had a very super natural salvation experience on Yom Kippur. I had severe demonic attacks after. My mind would be paralyzed with fear. I heard the HS tell me to plead the Holy Blood Of Jesus. As soon as I said it the demons fled. Praise God for His protection & love.
  • Renee on Genesis 2 - 5 years ago
Do New Testament believers of Jesus Christ plead his blood? I can't find any reference in scripture. Yet, I hear other believers repeating this phrase "I plead the blood over your finances, illness etc". Please help me find scriptural proof. Thank you.

Xs, listen to the word of God if you get faith then act on it. Only those that believe in Jesus are not condemned. After you believe you have to be a doer of the word. You're a Jew outwardly but it's better to be a Jew inwardly. Jesus is mentioned in the Old Testament.
    John 5

44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?

45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.

46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me.

47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words

Genesis 2:16-17 God put Adam in the garden and told him he could of every tree EXCEPT the tree of the knowlege of good and evil. He was warned that if he did he would die. Spiritually. Later Eve was talked into it by the serpents deceit. He tempted her with food. Also she desired to be wise. She ate it & got Adam to eat it too. Then they tried to cover it up. Deceit. God wasn't being mean to them. They willfully trusted a talking, lying, snake! Their spiritual connection died. It took Jesus's death on the cross of Calvary to reconnect spiritual life. We must be born again. Praise the Lord!

In Matthew Chapter 3, when Jesus was baptized by John, it was in fulfillment of Exodus 29:4. Jesus answered John and said it becomes "us" to fulfill all righteousness. According to Numbers 4:30, 30 years of age is the age of the priesthood. The priest also had to go through a baptism, Exodus 29:4. Interesting because here is John the baptizer standing there and Jesus says this is for "us" to fulfill all righteousness. So John is stepping in the place of Moses and baptizing Jesus for the priesthood. Anointing of the priesthood is in Exodus 29:7. Jesus was 30, and Jewish law said you had to be 30, and be baptized. John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. Jesus' baptism was of righteousness
