I love the Lord my God with all my heart and soul. I fear to follow any religious traditions that i can not understand. Especially when it comes down to man made images. This is just my belief. My blind faith.
I have had many Bibles, different translations .
The King James Version is the ONLY Bible I read.
Thank you .
God Bless
Bruce.
The New Testament Greek Lexicon
For the word fornication
This lexicon has been developed to aid the user in understanding the original text of the Greek Old and New Testament. By using the Strong's version of the King James and New American Standard Bibles, a deeper knowledge, of the passage being studied, can be gained.
Strong's Number: 4202 porneia
Original Word Word Origin
porneia from (4203)
Transliterated Word Phonetic Spelling
Porneia por-ni'-ah
Parts of Speech TDNT
Noun Feminine 6:579,918
Definition Includes: illicit (forbidden) sex, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.
Illicit means not allowed, improper, prohibited. Ora and anal sex is prohibited for all humans.
God tells us that the body is not made for fornication. "For this is the will of God, even your sanctification that ye should abstain from fornication, 1 Thess 4:3." The reason a person abstains from fornication in order to be holy is because fornication is the sin that makes a person unholy - unlike God.
In 1 Corinthians 6:13 it declares, "The body is not made for fornication, but for the Lord." The human body is not made for fornication and that includes the bodies of a man and his wife.
Isaiah 54:4-5. Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Here is one of many verses Israel committing fornication, Jeremiah 3:8. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. Fornication defined properly is essential to understanding scripture.
Lord almighty, give the word!
Give the word! in every nation
Let the Gospel trumpet sound,
Witnessing a world's salvation,
To the earth's remotest bound.
Then the end! Thy Church completed,
All Thy chosen gathered in, ...
Henry Downton, 1866.
"This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come." Matthew 24:14
Then the end! Thy Church completed,
All Thy chosen gathered in,
With their King in glory seated,
Satan bound, and banished sing
"Why is the shedding of blood need for the taking away sin"
Because the principle established in Eden was a life for life. "the wages of sin is death" Romans 6:23. "for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof" Leviticus 17:14, God has instructed us that blood is sacrosanct, that is, it has meaning beyond function.
Sinful Adam and Eve covered themselves with a lesser species of creation, as did sinful Satan. By the grace of God, he gave them a temporary acceptable covering, reflecting to Adam and Eve that his justice will be
done. "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin" Romans 5:12. In Eden it was God who demonstrated death for Adam and Eve and established the meaning of a blood sacrifice. The works of man has
no standing in God's performance of absolute justice.
The Message (MSG)
14-15 Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.
Especially verse 15! Don't you?
I have been saved and filled with his Sweet Holy Spirit a pretty long time. I was taught to
spend time in the Word of God and pray. We had memory verses in Sunday School and I
got to memorize quite a bit of scripture; I did not seem to enjoy the Word of God as much
as a 12 year old as I did when I got older & really gave my life to the Lord completely. When
I finally gave the Lord 1st place in my life that is when the Word of God became very alive
to me. When I was not committed to the Lord it was at 1st hard for me to read it. Very early
this morning the Spirit of God/LOVE Ministered to me/I Love The Lord/& THE WORD
And don't you just love the hymn, IS MY NAME WRITTEN THERE?
based on
John 14.2
"Oh! that beautiful city, with its mansions of light,
With its glorified beings, in pure garments of white;
Where no evil thing cometh to despoil what is fair;
Where the angels are watching, yes, my name's written there."
Mary A. Kidder, 1876.
"in the Lamb's book of life." Revelation 21:27
"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
6And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day
i recently been hearing about foods like tomatoes and potatoes being bad for people if they have something like arthritis. it's not scripture.
I thought the following passage might be of interest to you.It is from Philippians 3:3-12 "For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh,I more: circumcised the eighth day,of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin,an Hebrew of the Hebrews;as touching the law,a Pharisee;concerning zeal, persecuting the church;touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.
But what things were gain to me,those I counted loss for Christ.Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, and be found in him,not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law,but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith;that I may know him,and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect:but I follow after,if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus."
What Paul is saying is that all the things he had in his life as related to him and God,became just so much dung,in comparison to what he has now received in Christ. He was starting anew and this time in the truth of God.Chris has spoken well to you,and born again starts anyone onward and into an experience of growing closer to God through study of his word.
I would encourage you to be patient with your wife in regards to your&her salvation. As husband you are to love her unconditionally,as God loved you.Love is not based on a feeling, but instead a commitment.Baptism is only an outward witness of an inside event.
The entire Old Testament tells of our fall and of God's plan of redemption. The entire New Testament tells of Christ's sacrifice for our sins and His plan to return, gather His faithful ones, put an end to sin, and recreate the earth as it was before sin entered. Sin, death, illness, and dying will be no more.
The stone tablets containing the 10 Commandments are the immutable, permanent, unchanging will and character of God.
