    is gambling a sin?

    what is a mortgages loan?

is a mortgages, is it a form of gambling?

gambling is a risk to get rich or lost it?

to me a mortgages loan is also a risk, because if you are no longer able to pay, you also lost it?

so what is the difference between the two in the bible?

What do someone do if they are possessed by bad spirits?
  • Earl Bowman - In Reply - 4 years ago
Brother Rick, the body and soul are the same thing, different words.

Ezekiel 18:4 ..... The soul that sinneth it shall die.

Our body of flesh (soul) is the only thing that can die.

Spirit can not die. There is ONLY one SPIRIT (TRUTH) (THE WAY) (LIFE).

The wages of sin (unbelief, no knowledge of TRUTH, of LIFE, no light) (our sins of the flesh are COVERED in blood) is DEATH (separation from light, held in chains of darkness, confined to the bottomless pit, the grave, place of no perception). Until the Resurrection of Judgement.

When we die do we go to heaven,

Adam was a flesh-and-blood human being, so like us, his body was subject to wearing out, and one day his heart would stop, and the breath of life (spirit) would return back to God. Adam like us was not created immortal, he needed to eat of the Tree of Life to live forever, that is why it was hidden.

After Adam sinned it was a spiritual death not a physical death, the dwelling place for God in man, Satan's deception, physical life goes on after sin. Now we are under the judgment of condemnation and only by the grace of God and the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ we are free from this judgment.

Jesus came and lived in the flesh and died and was resurrected so we could be redeemed from this state of death, giving us the opportunity of eternal life. Did Jesus return to heaven when He died? Jesus did not ascend to His Father until after He resurrected ( John 20:17).

The belief in our soul is immortal comes from ancient Greek philosophy, developed especially by two of the chief Greek philosophers, Plato and Socrates. The meaning of death, being a separation of the soul from the body also came from ancient Greek philosophy. This immortal soul and the meaning of death has been taught for so long it is not questioned today.

It is Platonism, Augustine of Hippo made a saint, held this philosophy. He was a theologian, philosopher with a strong influence on doctrines in the church, in the fourth and early fifth century.

We are buried mortal, dead, in corruption and we are raised immortally incorruptible ( 1 Corinthians 15:42-44)

    All consciousness ends when we die. ( Psalm 6:5) ( Job 14:12-14) ( Job 17:13-16) ( Psalm 89:48) ( Psalm 115:17) ( Ecclesiastes 9:5-10)

We sleep in death until resurrection day, the day of redemption. ( 1 Corinthians 15:51) ( 1 Thessalonians 4:14). ( 1 Corinthians 15:52-54)

Martha This is a P.S. in the Gospels the disciples ask Jesus Christ how often to forgive he said until 70 Times 7 also in luke 15:11-32 is called the prodigal son, I like the forgiving father, God knows we all make mistakes its called sin.

A big thing to keep in mind learn from the error and change, that's why we have a saviour, your not alone nobody except Jesus Christ walked by the Spirit perfectly, also 1 John 3: 19-21 verse 20 For if our heart condemn us God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. Beloved if our heart condemn us not than we have confidence toward God.

Condemnation is a trick of the adversary if you know in your heart and actions you are doing the best you can according to His word don't beat yourself up. In His Service

Please disregard my first sentence as I see you said those in Christ will go there. I do wonder how people will go to heaven or hell before the day of judgment though, as 2 Corinthians 5:10 indicates ALL will face judgment and Rev 20:11-15 and Matthew 25:31-46 suggest that everyone as a big group will be judged at the same time. I don't see how that can happen if people are either judged as they die and go to heaven/hell or if they aren't judged at all.

Sister Nanette, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS understanding and HIS wisdom.

You are correct, The Spirit is ONLY CALLING OUT the manifest Sons of GOD; NOW, in the age of grace. (first death and resurrection)

    But:

Romans 8:19 For the earnest EXPECTATION of the creature (CREATION) WAITETH for the manifestation of the Sons of GOD.

Romans 8:20 For the creature (CREATION) ITSELF shall be DELIEVERED from the bondage of corruption INTO the glorious liberty of the CHILDREN OF GOD.

The rest of creation (second resurrection and second death) will be delivered (to Spiritual truth and Spiritual life) THROUGH JUDGEMENT. ( Isaiah 4:4) The lake of fire that burneth with brimstone.

1 Corinthians 3:15 ....But he himself shall be SAVED; yet so as BY FIRE.

Rich My understanding of repentance in context of usage Acts 2:38 Repent and be baptized, the word repentance in that usage is to have a total change in state if mind and turn to God.

So I figure their sinners prayer is talking about the repentance, where as after born again forgiveness is after your born again and you sin and thank God for forgiveness in the name of Jesus Christ. In His Service
  • Adam - In Reply - 4 years ago
I think what someone meant by a 'sinners prayer' is a prayer to confess sin and profess faith in Jesus Christ. Is that your understanding?

Not all Christians necessarily call this a sinners prayer and I think the term is simply a convenient term to convey a prayer for becoming a Christian. There are scriptures supporting this type of prayer, like 1 John 1:9.

The specific term you heard isn't in the Bible, but just because a term isn't in the Bible doesn't mean the action behind it is automatically invalidated. For example, the word Bible isn't in the Bible, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't read and believe the Bible. The phrase "altar call" isn't in the Bible either, but is Biblical.

Hello Jesse, do you believe Matthew 7:13 that most people will go to hell? Do you believe everyone going to hell will instead go to be with Jesus in heaven without first being judged then? How do you interpret those 'asleep' in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17? God bless...

    Cowboy,

Amen! The person who dies in Christ, their spirit will depart their physical body at the point of death and go to be with the Lord immediately. When Christ returns for his church, we (our spirit) will come back with Him, our physical body will be resurrected from the grave and rise to meet the Lord in the air, and it will be a glorified incorruptible body that our spirit will rejoin. And we will return with Christ to partake of the wedding feast.

John 1:14-15: "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me."

This describes Jesus being the Word.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

This says the Word (Jesus) was God.

Genesis 1:26 "Let US make" (plural).

John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."

Isaiah 7:14 - Jesus is called Immanuel which means "God with us".

God the father is referred to as God. I think most understand this. God also can refer to the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. I think most Bible readers understand this too. Jesus became a man and prayed to God, His Father. While being man he was still God. This does not mean He was his Father.

So, the human argument ignores scripture and claims Jesus wasn't ever God, because they can't humanly imagine Jesus talking to himself. This is a strawman argument, because no one believes Jesus was praying to himself.

The human argument against Jesus being part of the God head is akin to the skit of "Who's on first." Imagine an orange consisting of skin, pulp, and seeds like the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as described in 1 JOHN 5:7. Someone claims "the skin isn't part of the orange, because it's different than the seeds. Because it's impossible for the seeds to be the same as the skin, so it must not be an orange! Only one of the 3 can be an orange, so the other parts must not be part of the orange."

I also think there's an underlying spiritual battle occurring here. One must ask why someone is so motivated to undermine and discredit Jesus's divinity? Who would be behind such a goal? We know the answer. Tread carefully, stay in the Bible, and pray deeply about this before attacking Jesus on a website of Jesus followers.

    Nanette,

It is true that God knows His sheep. A person who has experienced a spiritual re-birth (Born again) is a person who God knows. All others are impostors. There will come a day that many will profess that during their lifetime, they did many wonderful things "in His name," and the Lord will say to them "Depart from me, I never knew you." This would be all those who died without receiving Christ. You are correct in that there are two future resurrections. There will be a resurrection for those who have died "In Christ," and then there will be another resurrection after the thousand-year reign of Christ for those who died without Christ, those who rejected Him in their lifetime. The first resurrection is the one you want to be a part of because those in the second one will be cast into the lake of fire.

I don't think the bible teaches that a person who dies without Christ in their life will be given a second chance after death, if that's what you are saying. Again, God knows all His sheep, those who have received Christ while still alive on this earth. In Galatians 4:9 Paul says, But now, and if I may point this out to you because it is very subtle, and he said it in Colossians also.

He says but after you have known God, or (rather) are known of God. You see, Paul corrected himself. He corrected himself in Colossians as well. And we do it all the time. We ask people "Do you know the Lord?" But the scripture says does the Lord know you? That's what's important. It's not that I know Christ, but He knows me.

Nanette, does the Lord know you? Have you received Him? Have you surrendered your life to Him? It is my hope that you have already done so and that you belong to Him. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, please do not hesitate to do so. There is no guarantee of tomorrow. Believing that we get a second chance at salvation after death is not a risk anyone should take!

D W L: John 3:17 God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.-- Notice it didn't say that God sent God, I can't believe God is trying to fool us.

Correct, It does say God "Is The Father, sending HIS SON." However, we Cannot Make a Correct Conclusion on ONLY one verse, When God Teaches "ALL of Scripture Is PROFITABLE for doctrine" ( 2 Timothy 3:16), Correct? Thus, we Also Check This Evidence:

Heb 1:4 Being MADE SO MUCH BETTER than the angels, as HE hath by inheritance obtained a MORE EXCELLENT NAME than they.

Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said He at any time, THOU ARE MY SON, this day have I begotten THEE? And again, I will be to HIM A Father, and HE SHALL BE TO ME A SON?

Heb 1:6 And again, when He Bringeth in The Firstbegotten into the world, He Saith, And let ALL the angels of God WORSHIP HIM.

Heb 1:7 And of the angels He Saith, Who maketh His angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.

Heb 1:8 But Unto THE SON He Saith, THY Throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. = Notice IT DOES SAY:

"GOD, The SON!" AND "ALL the angels of God WORSHIP HIM!!" = Plain And CLEAR!!

Conclusion: No, God is not trying to "fool us" WHEN we "study ALL Scripture!" Amen?

Praise HIM Now And ForEverMore! Amen?

Matthew 12:36 - People will be judged at some point on the same day. Is it likely that they are judged AFTER they go to heaven or hell or BEFORE?

2 Corinthians 5:10 - People are judged first THEN they receive what is due.

Revelation 20:11-15 - People are all judged on the same day. Lots of people seen in the same place.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 says the dead will rise and those living will meet the Lord in the air.

Would it make sense for someone to go heaven before being judged where they're going, then back to earth enter a rotted corpse then rise up to meet Jesus, then be judged then go back again to heaven where they already were?

What about these verses that indicate people will sleep in-between while awaiting Jesus's return: Job 14:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:14.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. This tells me when I die I will be in the presents of the lord as long as you are saved and filled with the holy Ghost and have the faith to see God.
