As Christians we believe in the Trinity, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost, which is impossible to understand with our finite minds,

I believe one needs to read the first chapter of John (where he calls Jesus the Word) and also 1 John chapters 4 and 5 we may have a better understanding of the Trinity

John 1:1

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

"Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

"And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

Okay, in Jeremiah 10:9, we have a description of those given to idolatry & the extent the heathen go to to beautify their idols (maybe finding more merit by giving the idols extra honour). Such was their efforts to glorify their idols, that even their clothing was the finest ('blue & purple' - which the common man could never afford), as they worked meticulously in their wicked craft & were very skilful at it ("cunning men").

I don't believe we can equate the colour of their clothing to anything sinister today. Some of course wish to show off their outward appearance & wealth, but the purity of one's heart & holy lives are of greater worth in the sight of God.

Hi Diane, the scripture tells us, Therefore we are always "CONFIDENT" while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord, For we walk by faith not by sight. We are "CONFIDENT", I say and "WILLING" rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. WE GO IMEDIATELY TO THE LORD!

I have a KJV bible and it's a Hebrew-Greek straight translations, key word, study Bible, it's more pure than almost any other version, unless you can find a Hebrew bible with the new testament wld be about as close as a person can get to the original, pure, awesome Hebrew language. But like you were saying, the books of Enoch is like a diamond in the rough. They have been kept hidden within caves and caverns, where they remained for hundreds of years.

ALSO if you TRULY want to understand Genesis all the way and in depth then you need to find to BOOK of JASHER, which is an extended version of Genesis; which blew my mind...it tells you in depth everything that happens throughout the first book of the bible. Also the Book of Jubilee is also a good reading with meat in it; some information that's not in our bible.

The key verse is there in 2 Chronicles 26:16: "But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense."

Uzziah was a great king, served the Lord well, mighty in battle & helped his people. But all his abilities & fame got to his head, & he greatly transgressed by usurping the duties of the priests by burning incense in the Temple. For this grave error, he became leprous & remained so till the day of his death.

A New Testament correlation for us could be found in 1 Corinthians 10:12: "Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall." We can learn from Uzziah's downfall if we too start to become overly confident in our abilities & accomplishments, believing that we're in a strong position that prevents us from any error. It is when we lose sight of God & of our utter reliance upon Him for both our physical & spiritual lives, that we fall into the temptation that we are as 'gods' having the power & authority to do anything. God may just have to put our "thigh out of joint" ( Genesis 32:25) as He did to Jacob, to remind us from whence our strengths & blessings come from & not to usurp God's Authority over our lives.

You appear to group ALL Churches by these descriptions. I realize that many do not wholly follow the Word of God, often bending & twisting Scriptures to suit their own ends or even in gross perversion of biblical Truths, but you would need to give specifics to your statements/questions, which seem too generalized.

I think you might be referring to 2 Chronicles 2:7: "Send me now therefore a man cunning to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that can skill to grave with the cunning men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide." And there are other verses in similar vein about "purple", e.g. Exodus 35:35.

The word "cunning" is an archaic word for 'skilled'. You could also use words such as 'being adept in performance or having manual dexterity'. And these men were selected for their ability to work with fabric, producing high quality workmanship.

It is not by works of righteousness which we have done but it is according to His mercy (favor) for us that we are saved. Jesus Christ did everything for us on the cross. His blood atonement washes us from all of our sins.. We are completely restored in Him as His sons and daughters. He loves us that much that "He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes (trusts) in Him should not perish but have everlasting life". In the Word of God it reveals to us that God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. His Holy Spirit is the One who brings conviction of sin. So the idea is that if we repent for all of our sins (no matter what it is), He is just and faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness. After repenting, we then ACCEPT Jesus Christ into our hearts as LORD and Savior... From that point on we have begun a new life in Him which will last throughout all eternity. It is a free gift. But remember we must always honor Him as our LORD... (King, Master, Creator) and be obedient to Him as His servants...If we fall we always have an advocate (a helper, friend) to lift us back up. Again, Confess our sins and He is just and faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness". We as Christians (followers of Jesus Christ) need to read the Word of God daily to strengthen us daily... Jesus Christ died and ROSE again. i am interested in what happens when we die and more about god and our faith. i am getting older and i am sick so my thoughts mostly want to know about jesus and for sure i am going to heaven i am saved but need the bible to help me get home
