Psalm 23 is a complete verse of the bible. From the start to the finish.

Hi Jesse from my little research of scripture the Bible was translated from Greek Hebrew and Estrangelo Aramaic, so its an understatement to say that the translators did a phenomenal work in giving us what we have. It's very interesting research.
  • Suicide and the Spirit of Death - In Reply on Psalms 139 - 4 years ago
Mark, As for your question, let me reassure you that suicide is not an unforgivable sin. Therefore, if a true believer commits suicide, though their life ended with a sin under tragic circumstances, they are still saved by the blood of Christ. The grace of God through the death and resurrection of Christ covers all sins past, present, and future. A sin that ends your life is no more potent than one that doesn't. God's grace is more powerful and covers it all. So, rest assured that ____ is in the presence of the Lord. The apostle Paul is clear on this in Philippians 1:21-23. He says that when we depart from the body (death) we are then with Christ. This goes for all believers, not just ones that didn't commit suicide.

ABOUT THE SPIRIT OF DEATH. Had some experience with this when I was younger. Death seemed to be a soft blanket to shield me from losses in life.

The following is a list to help you discern whether or not you are being attacked by a spirit of death.

    * You experience difficulty finding work to support your family.

    * There is an onslaught of sickness and disease reoccurring in your body.

    * You are battling with discouraging thoughts to give up the fight and die.

    * You are dealing with a barrage of accidents and strange events that can lead to death.

    * You are struggling with suicidal thoughts.

    * You fight against thoughts of harming others

    * You engage in behaviors and activities that invite death, such as reckless driving, drug and alcohol abuse, and other negative habits that display a death wish.

I believe a spirit of death tried to take Jobs life. It spied on what Job was fearful of losing. Job had nothing left, homeless, sick,"friends" blamed him; all he had was faith in God. He trusted in God no matter what happened.

He was healed, got a new wife, more kids, wealth; and a deeper knowledge of who God is. Our faith is valuable. Job didn't have a Bible, but he knew God, respected God: what I learned myself. Mishael

This is very interesting as I have never looked at this verse the way you two are. I've always thought this was a max time limit (or expiration date, if you will) that God was permanently setting on a human's life there on after. In Genesis Chapter 5 we read about the genealogy of Adam. For generations we see that these people were living hundreds of years. Then we read Genesis 6:1-2. In Genesis 6:3 we see the word strive which means:

    Definition of strive

    intransitive verb

1: to devote serious effort or energy : ENDEAVOR

    strive to finish a project

2: to struggle in opposition : CONTEND

So looking at Genesis 6:3 in that respect, it appears that God was setting a max number of days for all of man-kind from that day forward. People don't live beyond 120 years as we know it.

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Is this verse speaking of angels that could be in a form of a person that you may help or they help you?

  • Chris - In Reply on Joshua 22 - 4 years ago
Hello Victor. I think you're referring to Joshua 22:31. If so, then if you read the account from verse 1, Joshua had blessed the two and half tribes that went to claim & live on the East side of the Jordan River (Reuben, Gad, & the half tribe of Manasseh). However, when they went to their lands, they decided to build an altar to the Lord. When the other tribes on the West side of Jordan heard of this structure, they became furious & wanted to attack them for this wickedness. But after the chiefs of those nine & a half tribes consulted with the other two & a half tribes about the matter, they learned that the altar wasn't for sacrifice or worship, but simply a memorial & a witness of their connection with all the tribes. Because in the generations to come, they may not give regard to the tribes scattered on the East & West of the Jordan & this altar was simply a memorial of their common ancestry to Jacob & on to Abraham.

When the priest & the tribal chiefs heard this, they were appeased. So then in verse 31, we read that the priest (Phinehas) spoke to those two & half tribes & said that since they haven't trespassed (& angered) the Lord because of this altar, the children of Israel (the whole twelve tribes) have been saved from the anger & punishment of the Lord, even as they encountered at Peor (the plague) & concerning Achan's sin that resulted in the victory of the Amorites over them. So the people were much relieved that no sin in such a manner was committed here in Joshua chapter 22, & their lives were spared from God's punishment. I hope that helps you in understanding this portion of Scripture.

    Car,

I believe a woman on fire for Jesus, can lead in an intercessory prayer group. We need people who can tear down strongholds of self-doubt; to do some business with the Holy Spirits leadership.

Study on how Jesus prayed. Even King David in the Psalms. Children and teenagers in Proverbs. Always Ephesians 6 so we can understand our enemies are invisible; that's why we put on our Armor. Deborah in the Book of Judges came on the scene when their was need for strong leadership was imperative. We can all prevail with unshakable faith in prayer.

Take the prayer requests, pray for individuals; lay hands on numerous requests, lay hands on them in the Prayers of AGREEMENT is powerful. God knows each name on the Prayer List! Do not doubt that.

God is omnipresent and He blesses prayer ministries. All women should be taught to lead so no one person has to do it every time you come together. You can get a lot done in an hour before or after church.

All we have to do is touch God with our faith.

My little grandmother sent me love letters from Jesus when I was in my sinful life. I always thought about that drawer full of her love and prayers for me. That reality tore down satans kingdom in my life and then The Kingdom of God flooded into my present life.

Our world is getting darker now and it's time to Let Your Light Shine. You know I watched that War Room DVD. It makes me think of both my Christian Grandmother's. They are who I want to see 2nd, in heaven.

    Go get em.

Hello Miss Dianne , I am aware of that reference , thank you , I was looking for some proof that God said to Eve : neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die . I don't believe there is any for that , so where did Eve get that from ? My guess is from Adam , who else could have said that to her ? My point was that the adding to God's words gave an opening for the serpent ,God is never the author of confusion , I wish the same could be said of man but there's no chance of that . May God bless you .

Jacob's Heel Manifestation through the Grace of God.

At birth, the redheaded brother Esau came out first followed by Jacob grabbing his brother's heel. Jacob means Heel-Grabber, supplanter, or usurper.

( Genesis 33) Jacob & Esau's last meeting on the trail. They part with gifts.

Jacob and Esau fought each other for territories. Jacob the heel-grabber, is depicted as crushing Esau's hand with his heal, and the fingers on Esau's hand point to his land, Russia. Look at a map of the Black sea (sea of Azov).

I haven't been able to identify any scriptures directly associated with this beyond what's embedded in the 2 boys struggles. No one knew the Black sea contained Jacob's heel fully till aeriel photography. Isn't that remarkable, the obvious natural illustration of the sea, it must be a testament to the Almighty.

S Spenser , I'm so glad you understand ,for me it's a very important principle , I wish ever one could see how important it is . It's ok to toss ideas around in your head , to think things over and try to see beyond the words to take on the bigger picture but ultimately the words must be.....the final word .
  • Take no thought - In Reply - 4 years ago
Please show me where it says that God said : neither shall ye touch it lest ye die . You won't be able to find it because it isn't there , Eve believes that this is what God said ,she quotes it as what Adam told her , and because of this miscommunication the serpent sneaks in and takes advantage of the situation .Man mishandled the word of God and it gave occasion to sin , that's how the Bible begins , man mishandling the word of God and the Bible ends with a warning for us ,not to do the same , can you see that connection ? Any one who thinks it's ok to add to or subtract from the word of God is in very serious trouble . I'm very sorry if no one on here gets that .

I think you have to Google:

Although I do not know if scripture will be read by someone British.

Now, I have listened to Irish Church ministries on YouTube. It's an actual church.

I'm sure there are British Churches on YouTube also. Just check it out and see what you see.

I checked last week for a man that needed a Bible in Hindi, he could listen to.

Brother Jesse. Thank you for that 'bit' of enlightenment. When I saw your question yesterday, I think I spent a good half hour working through it in my mind, digging into its furthest recesses for a suitable answer - & all I found was darkness & a nagging ache. Thank you very much!

Apart from the general understanding of an 'atheist', I found after all that, I had no answer to give you. The only thought that came to me, was if that 'atheist', who believed in God, Jesus & the Bible, was anything different to what we understand him to be, then he must believe that he was a god-type himself & therefore reinterpreting everything else keeping himself as the focus & place of accountability. But I see, that I missed altogether the 'complete' meaning of a-theist as you have wisely shared.

So, I'll keep it in the back of my mind, as there are plenty of spaces now since cleaning everything out because of your question, but if I do engage in conversation with an atheist (in or outside of the Church), I wonder whether he would think any differently to what is generally understood, & I might even leave him totally dumbfounded if I should suggest this 'added' meaning. With 'a-theist', I thought of 'a-millenialist', therefore the word 'no' seemed most appropriate in both examples. I will need to add 'without' to its meaning. Again, thanks for the extra 'light' - I truly needed it.
  • ANTICHRIST SCRIPTURES - In Reply on Psalms 91 - 4 years ago
    1 John 2:18

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

    1 John 2:22

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

    1 John 4:3

And every spirit that confessenot that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

    2 John 1:7

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a Deceiver and an antichrist.

    Names of Satan

    23. Dragon

    Satan is called the dragon.

And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him ( Revelation 12:9).

The term dragon is associated with those who oppose God.

    24. Old Serpent

He is also known as the old serpent.

And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him ( Revelation 12:9).

This reminds us of the Garden of Eden when Satan came to Adam and Eve in the form of a serpent. It speaks of his cunning.

    25. Deceiver Of The Whole World

This fallen angel deceives the unbelieving world.

And the great dragon was cast down, the old serpent, he that is called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down with him ( Revelation 12:9).

Deception is what this being is all about - he is the master deceiver.

    26. Accuser Of God's People

God's people are constantly accused by this evil

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, proclaiming, "Now have come the salvation and the power and the king

    Genesis

    Chapter 3

1 Now the serpent was more subtil (deceitful) than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, HATH GOD SAID, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden???

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, GOD HATH SAID, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: (HE LIED)

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

SATAN WAS AFTER ADAM'S MANDATE. "As First Adam."

Comment: Satan caused pride to raise its head. Eve desired to be like God. Adam loved Eve very much: they were One. He ate too, but not for the same reason.

Adam lost the Mandate. In Genesis 3:15 we see that in the process of many generations, Jesus would be born. The Son of Man. He was 2nd Adam.

On the day Jesus was crucified, HE TOOK BACK THE DEED TO THE EARTH. He Took captivity Captive, and took the keys of death, hell and the grave away from Satan. He completed the first Covenant. He RATIFIED THE 2nd Covenant with HIS OWN SINLESS BLOOD. He made us eligible to be born again. We have to ask for it.

As we see with Adam and Eve: Satan does not have power over us, unless we give it to him. Only the blood of Jesus can give us the power to resist sin. How? By being Born Again. John 3

    And John 17.

I hope this helps you. Mishael
  • Chris - In Reply on Wisdom of Solomon 2 - 4 years ago
Hello Nelvan. From the Bible, we understand that before Jesus came to Earth as a Man, He was in Heaven, within the Godhead, as the Word of God (see John 1:1-4,14). God has chosen to express Himself to us as the Almighty God from Whom proceeds His Word & His Spirit - just one God in His Fulness ( 1 John 5:7).

"Can God die?" No, God is Spirit, He cannot die and none in the spirit realm can die since no physical body is present. One day we will die because our aging bodies must perish. But our spirits which cannot die, will return to God ( Ecclesiastes 12:7).

But Jesus died, because God chose to send forth His Word to us a sinful people. And that Word became flesh ( John 1:14) & He was named Jesus ( Matthew 1:21-25), so that the people not only had God's final Word to them coming in human form ( John 8:42,43), but He also came as a man for the "suffering of death" ( Hebrews 2:9), that He should "taste death for every man". And this, Jesus did for us, so that when we believe on Him, confessing our sins, God will forgive us & accept us, only because He accepted His Son's death as a full & complete payment for our sins ( John 3:16-18).

So God Who is Spirit cannot die, but when He sent His Word to become a man, then yes, God did give us His life for us. But as you may know, the account doesn't end there: Jesus arose from death & the grave, ascended to Heaven in His glorified body & is seated now at God's right Hand where His Testimony is ever present before all in Heaven & Earth ( Hebrews 10:12; 7:25) - God's sacrificial Lamb Who was once slain and is now the only reason for our acceptance by God.
