  • Trusting God with all our Might - In Reply - 3 years ago
Read the story of Samson and Delilah in Book of Judges. He committed suicide and took all those who had hurt him, with him.

It's not an option to life that hurts us. We are always To Pray. Give your life to God, fully. Then see what God does with your life. Through the good and the bad times. God is trustworthy. It took our efforts to be in a place of wanting to just give up. That's when we shove God aside, and "do it our way." Look at how Samsons results happened. I think he's mentioned in Hebrews 11. Let's all go search that.

Blessings on you. Peace and be still. Allow God to write the end of your story.

    Deuteronomy 11

    16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

17 And then the LORD'S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thoand when thou risest up.

20 And thou shalt write them up

21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

    22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

23 Then will the LORD drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the LORD your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

    26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Hi James. You've raised subjects which cannot be dealt with adequately in a small comment section. But to the naming of cults & sects, please remember that these titles are not given lightly - people have had to study in great depth the organization, beliefs, practises, & control that groups have over their adherents. In other words, one must first have a body of Truth which becomes the primary & only measurement of one's own beliefs & practises & also that of another. And that body of Truth is the Bible. Now, the reason we have so many Christian groups, Churches, cults & sects, is because each one understands the Bible differently & desires to apply those beliefs to their adherents.

Maybe, you're thinking, 'why should another person's beliefs warrant a 'branding' by someone else?' Well, that might be true if you don't care about Truth, or care little about teachings & deceptions that others face - I don't exactly how you feel about this. And this is why we have such a medium as this (King James Bible Online), so that we might discuss the Bible, search through it to help in our learning, & just put it 'out there' for others to consider the arguments presented. I don't think we seek to denigrate a group particularly, since their beliefs are what they are, but when we bring the Scriptures to light, then error is exposed. If by doing this we are in error, then we would expect that the one finding fault will be studied sufficiently to provide a biblical water-tight argument to support his belief & expose our error. After all, we're all learning & should have the spirit to consider other points of view, but measured against given Truth. If the Bible is not our yardstick, then Truth no longer matters, salvation is not an issue, the eternity of the soul is of little consequence.

You've shared on the 'veneration of Mary by Jesus'. I would like to know where the Lord venerated His Mother? I only know Gabriel & Elizabeth spoke of Mary being blessed of all women ( Luke 1).

Yes brother, I did re-read Luke 7:29,30; & apologies for the delayed reply (I didn't receive an email alert). But what I did read in that passage was that the people, including the publicans, believed John's coming & baptizing work from God. However, the Pharisees & Lawyers rejected it, therefore refused to be baptized. So was it God's Counsel (or, Will) that the application of John's baptism to the people be the same as Jesus' baptism?

As stated earlier, I believe that John's baptism of the penitent was very different to Jesus' baptism by John. The first, was for sinners to visibly indicate their spiritual need & in some way acknowledging that John (i.e. his calling & work) was a prelude/an announcer to another One coming Who would come to usher in the Kingdom & perform another type of baptism ( Matthew 3:1-3,11). Even John was perplexed as to why Jesus would come to him to be baptized since, of all people, Jesus definitely did not fit the reason for his baptism.

Since that part is clear to me (i.e. of the different baptisms of the people & Jesus), one could be better served to discuss what Jesus meant when He said, "Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness (v15)". Yes, baptism was a command, but was it the same command given for the people & Jesus alike, or was Jesus' need to be baptized prompted by a totally different 'command', motive, & resulting fall-out? I realize that the answers we give to this question can only be from our personal understanding/Spirit's leading, since no verse gives specific detail on it.

And to add another thought: what if some people gathered around John refused, or despised, his baptism, but later on came to realize their sinful condition when seeing the Life of Jesus & His Works & hearing His Words - would they be rejected now because they refused John's baptism? I guess, another moot question.

Mankind is not a weak and imperfect people but plainly ungodly incapable of doing any good and inclined to all evil. Anyone trying to do good in order of obtaining salvation will never be justified, Roman's 4 : 2,3,4. Verse 5 tells us to believe in Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. God doesn't save the godly but the ungodly. Praise the Lord who saves only people without works. AMEN

2Th 2:5 (KJV) Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

Paul tacitly charges them, and rebukes them gently for it; and as a faithful monitor, stirs up their pure minds by way of remembrance, and reminds them of former truths delivered to them: they were confused by false Apostles

2Th 2:4 (KJV) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

this verse nails it home as to who is being spoken of (Satan)
  • Postmyers567 on 2 Thessalonians 2:11 - 3 years ago
    2Th 2:3 (KJV) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

let no man or woman deceive you, that day shall not come (the day of Christ) except there come a falling away from the true faith, which has been happening slowly but seems to have ramped up today, with all this false theology, dispensationalism being at the top of the list in the destruction of American Christianity..

so the falling away is first then, that man of sin, the son of perdition is revealed

the man of sin and the son of perdition are speaking of the same.... Satan

here's the reference for the man of sin... Isaiah 14:16... start around verse 12 and read to verse 23 to get the context..

and the reference for the son of perdition... John 17:12

2Th 2:2 (KJV) That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Paul says not to be shaken or troubled, in spirit nor word (new bible versions) or letter, there were false letter going around in Pauls day, that the day of Christ is at hand, the day of Christ is not at hand, Christ is not coming any minute, some things have to happen first...

2Th 2:1 (KJV) Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

Its clear by the opening statement that this chapter is about the coming of our Lord Jesus and the gathering together of believers unto him.
  • Postmyers567 on 2 Thessalonians 2:11 - 3 years ago
    2 Thess 2:9

Euen him whose comming is after the working of Satan, with all power and signes, and lying wonders,"

this is another example where people have replaced Christ with Antichrist, and the only way to make it work is by this invention of a man indwelt by Satan called "the Antichrist" but this chapter is about Christ and Satan the word Antichrist is not mentioned, if you want to say that Satan is "The Antichrist" then that makes sense.

The "whose comming " in verse 9 is the Lord Jesus coming, the king James bible is honest when words are added to the bible, and in this case "Even him" is added in verse 9, read verses 8 and 9 together without the "even him" and its clear.

2Th 2:8 (KJV) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

2Th 2:9 (KJV) Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

his coming, (Christ's coming) whose coming (Christ's coming) it doesn't make sense to say "the Antichrist" (Satan) is coming after the working of Satan...

so the Lords coming is after the working of Satan, now you know why they have to invent a man "The Antichrist" to hide this simple truth

Dispensationalist love this verse, but does it mean what the think it means? Rightly Dividing simply means to be accurate and correct in what you are giving out or teaching from the scriptures.

2Ti 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

    Bible definition for Rightly

Ge 27:36 (KJV) And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?

Lu 20:21 (KJV) And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

The bible definition for rightly is: Accurately; correctly

The bible definition for dividing is: to give out

1Co 12:7-11 (KJV) But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Now lets get the context of what 2 Timothy is saying

2Ti 2:2 (KJV) And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

2Ti 2:14 (KJV) Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

And then; I think you get the picture here, dispensationalist have hi-jacked this term "Rightly dividing" and given it another meaning

2Ti 2:15 (KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Where in the bible does it say religions are a cult?
  • James - 3 years ago
Roman Catholics use the KJV bible and Roman Catholics are not a cult. Some of you may not believe that Mary, Mother of Jesus Christ, was venerated by Jesus but she was and should be venerated. Many people do and they are not all RC's. This a strange place where people call themselves Christians, yet call other Christian Religions cults. Theyre are religious cults but most of them have sprung to life in the last 100 to 200 hundred years. 1914 comes to mind, but I am a Christian and I am a Roman Catholic, so I will not call other religions names, nor their followers. You who do have to search your soul to see if your feelings are generated by unfounded hate, misinformation, or some other emotion/understanding. God loves everyone and you should copy him. Mary has many reported sightings in different countries and centuries.

    Sister Suze:

You are very knowledgeable in the scriptures, and you didn't get there by not understanding that a great deal of scriptures are symbolised or signified.

Revelation 1:1 .....and SIGNIFIED IT ......

Revelation 12:i And there appeared a great wonder in heaven .....

Is heaven the physical, OR, signified? the word says it's signified.

The woman also is signified, being Christ's church, or his bride.

The wonder IN HEAVEN is a woman, the church, the bride of Christ, YOU ARE HEAVEN, the abode of GOD and Christ at his right hand.

Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder IN SUZE; SUZE clothed with the SUN (the Father abiding in SUZE, and the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness IN HEAVEN) under SUZE'S feet, and upon SUZE'S head a crown of twelve stars (an innumerable company of angels, ministering spirits).

Psalms 84:11 The LORD God is a SUN (signified) and shield: the LORD (the sun) will give GRACE and GLORY: no good thing will he (the sun) withhold from them (SUZE) that walk uprightly.

Psalms 121:6 The SUN (the Father) shall not smite thee by day, nor the MOON (Christ, the faithful witness in heaven) by night.

Psalms 89:35 Once have I (the Father) sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

Psalms 89:36 HIS SEED (CHRIST'S SEED)(SUZE the SEED) shall endure forever, and his (Christ's) throne as the SUN (the Father) before me (Christ).

Psalms 89:37 It (Christ's throne, SUZE the throne, set in heaven) shall be established forever as the MOON (Christ), as my faithful witness IN HEAVEN (IN SUZE).

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is MY FAITHFUL WITNESS ......in HEAVEN, in SUZE, this mystery .....CHRIST IN YOU ......

    God Bless you.

The Heavens declare the Glory of God in V 1 , then in V 4 in them ( the heavens ) hath he set a tabernacle for the sun . I'm not comfortable asigning astronomical symbolism to God and Jesus . Some people believe that the Bible does that occasionally , that's fine but I don't think that it's for us to do so . It's a bit too close to astrology for my liking . I hope I have explained the connection from V 1 to V 4 adequately enough . Much love in Christ
