Wesley's Notes for Genesis 3:9

3:9 Where art thou? - This enquiry after Adam may be looked upon as a gracious pursuit in order to his recovery. If God had not called to him to reduce him, his condition had been as desperate as that of fallen angels.

GENESIS3:9 GOD ASKED ADAM "WHERE ARE YOU "IT MEANS GOD WAS LOOKING FOR ADAM AND GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING ADAM SINNED AND LEFT GOD 'S POSITION. WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW SIN TO TAKE US AWAY FROM GOD 'S POSITION

It wasn 't a geographical question but a question of relationship. You see sin draws us away from God. In reality God was saying "Adam where are you in your heart? It just shows the reality of the possibility that even though he created us when we let sin govern over our lives we separate ourselves from God. That 's why Jesus said "many will say I knew u and cast devils out in your name and I will say I knew you not. ". The grace and love he has for Adam is also in display here. God gives man free will that 's he gave them the option between both trees. That 's why he didnt kill satan because he wanted to leave man an option. Who will u serve? God or satan u can 't serve two gods.

God ask this question not because He want an answer He doesn 't knew but to 1 let Adam knew he has abandon his position 2 let Adam knew He was aware of it.so we could reframe the question,Adam where do you suppose to be where are you?Adam it is fellowship time where are you?

God place Adam in the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. But Adam give it up to the enemy,he was out of his position that God placed him in. He was away from his wife Eve out of position thats why the serpent could have convince his wife. He should have always kept her at his side. Husbands are not excluded from their position when God give them their help meet. when help comes to you,you dont walk away from your position and leave the helper to carry out what was instructed to you, the husband. God bless

In Gen 3:9. The intention of God is to have followship with man. But God was dissapointed becouse man was nowhere to be found. God have to call, '' Adam where art thou. God is still calling men till to day in isaiah 1:18 HE said come let us reason together
