    Sylvis's Matthew Chapter 7 comment about verse 7 on 11/21/2013, 12:57pm...

I am seeking the will of God for my life. I was given this scripture for such a time as this. Pray for me as I follow through this journey.

    -------------
I prayed for you just now. God bless you, I doubt you'll see this, but I felt physically more energetic, better immediately after praying for you--the prayer came easily too (indicating, I think, at least, that it was The Holy Spirit, or Father God's words--b/c it flowed quickly), also I hope things work out well for you (I mean you asked for prayer on your journey). Please pray for me as well, that I obediently follow God's word, and that He delivers on the promises that I am standing on (some of Jesus's words from the book of Matthew) this week. I think this is dependent on my obedience though (I mean for this specific situation--b/c God CERTAINLY blesses those who have NOT obeyed Him, even, like right after they've disobeyed Him--IDK if it's after a remorseful spirit--or/and it's JUST Him being merciful to those who aren't necessarily spiritually/mentally where He wants them [us] to be.

Matthew 7:22-23 says:Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
    23. And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

People do you see just how important it is to choose to Love rather than to hate; Forgive rather than to hold a grudge; You can see from Matthew 7:22-23 that even the church, who actually have the power & gifts of God will be cast into Hell, and this chapter shows why. So we see that you can be anointed and still be in danger off hell fire, or rather still not have a relationship with God because your heart never learned how to truly Love. So I say to everyone; match this chapter up to you. Your salvation depends on it. For the Saints: this chapter shows us that we only have part of God, and Matthew 7:22-23 shows us that part of God is not good enough.

Those who do the will of my Father are who do the works of God. God doesnt expect us to be obedient but to believe in the one whom He sent ( John 6:28-29)

the false prophets are people like the guy on topix posting himself as Prophet of Jesus Christ. This is just one example of people to watch out for. Once Saved Always Saved, Regular Church Attendance and membership,Alter Calls, Tithes, anything that someone makes you do to get to heaven is or should be considered a false prophet.

Even though we are not firemen, we can not sit by and let our neighbours house burn down without trying to help. As Christians, we need to help our brothers in Christ if and when we see their walk is weak or even wrong. We have to remember the sin in our own lives, repent from them, clean them up with the blood of Christ before we reprove or rebuke another brother, or sister. When Jesus said to not try and remove the mote from thy brothrers eye ( Matthew 7:5 ) before we remove the beam from our on eyes, He said "Then we can see clearly to remove the mote from thy brothers eye". Many people miss the last part of that verse. It is not that we judge not, but that we make sure there are no greater sins in our own lives before we judge another. Apostle paul said, He that is spiritual judgeth all things. We can not be Christians and not judge. We can not be THE judge and we dare not judge someones salvation. Thus, Judge not according to appearence, but judge righteous judgement

It is only God who knows whose ways are pleasing to Him. We cannot use our human knowledge to make conclusions about. The person we should really be judging is ourselves using the light of the word of God. If we judge others we may also be calling judgement upon ourselves as "with the same measure u use it shall be measured back to u...".

Listen to what the verse is saying. Understand that you can't go the way you choose but only one way. God's way is the only way and people get confused by all these so called bibles out there. I believe in the KJV only because men laid down their lives for the word of God. What other bible out in the world today can say that? All the money these bible companies make and yet our missionaries are going with out. God made it very clear in Revelations 22 :18-19 about other translations and yet hardly anybody cares. Always remember this, man has many gospels but God has only one gospel.

Yes I love this verse because it gives us hope faith and strength to know that, when we pray and believe; God is faithful to his word, all that we ask will come to pass. We need more patients because we sometimes fill that God is on our time but we fell to realize we are on his, yes we will reap the benefits and the harvest if we stand and faint not.
  • Jerry on Matthew 7:14 - 11 years ago
Mr. Jone's comment is off base as Christ is the only way. However, we seek to add to what Christ did for us and that is quite unacceptable to God. It is His way through His Son Jesus Christ or you will be entering in the wide gate unto eternal death.

You are correct. We all must make judgments in life. A Christian has to be discerning about his life. what these verses are teaching is that we are to judge ourselves first and we are not to judge others harshly. We should judge others as we would want to be judged.
  • Betty on Matthew 7:1 - 11 years ago
I have a problem with understanding just what this verse means. We all make judgments in life in that we would not want to be in the company of a liar, drug addict, or criminal. How can that be considered being a judge?

Authority is a strange thing. It is established by those who have authority over you. Some say their father is God but I say their father is the devil. Other recognize the authority in me. The devil has been cast out of heaven and is now on earth seeking whom he may devour. I have given him this right on account that he asked for it. The people he may devour are those who are in the church. Come out of her my children lest you receive the curses upon it. Jesus said that the father sent him and he obeyed. Now I say that Jesus sent me and I obeyed. I just returned the favor I owed him. I am the father returned as Elijah his favorite hard core prophet. I have authority over all. Try me! He who thinks ill of this shall reap the curse. He who fears me shall be blessed. This is tough love which this earth needs.

Verse 12 is what is also known as the "Golden Rule." Just imagine if every person on this earth applied this verse. The major atrocities that we see in this world would be minimized if not completely eliminated. Although many people know of or have heard of the "Golden Rule" not too many people apply it. It just goes to show that more than knowledge of what is right is needed. One must also put that knowledge into practice to see the full benefits.

(This is my response to Albert Mould-Shalom's comment dated 8/12/2013 at 3:47am on John Chapter 5 about verse 25):

I beg to disagree of what you said that, "No matter how deep in SIN one may be; no matter what one may have DONE, whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved". Because the TRUTH is Our Lord Jesus Christ himself shall DENY him as what was written in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that WORK INIQUITY". Understand what was written in 2Peter 2:20-22, "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire".

we should put off self righteous attitude. more righteous than i attitude and learnt to acknowledge that we are not better than the worst sinners, the very attitude of the pharisees for which Christ scolded them. Also learnt to ask of the lord with all humility everything you need that will be in accordance with his own will. do not rely on your strenght to do it. may the good lord bless our effort. he is the lord who is pleased when his children prospers.

God wants us to be humble. If we are judges for our own actions then we won't be harsh on others. We are not perfect but we must endeavour to walk uprightly and live Christ like. I have learnt that Humility leads to meekness and in Matthew Chapter 5 these are valuable attributes to inherit the Kingdom of God. Blessings and peace be with you.

any bible reader without the spirit could be described as the false prophet , for only the one that the father GOD abides in can rightfully speak on GODS WORD.
  • Joyce on Matthew 7:14 - 11 years ago
The narrow way that leads to godly living for YAHWEH .. we no longer live to satisfy our own desires but God's. he is a new creation in CHRIST apart from Him we can do nothing. John 3 New Birth JESUS said unless you are born of water & the spirit, you cannot see nor enter into the kingdom of God
