Verse 11- Jesus warned his disciples that people would persecute them and tell lies about them. We must prove by our actions that these lies are false.

To understand this passage, read Matthew 19:1-9, which gives God's plan for marriage ( Genesis 2:24). Adam considered Eve part of himself; therefore, "Therefore what God has joined together let not man separate." ( Matthew 19:6). If the marriage vows are broken by infidelity, divorce is allowed ( Matthew 5:32). Threat to a spouse's life, desertion and forced prostitution are valid grounds, also.

There is not one church that I found to be in line with the bible so sad to see

Anyone can Divorce The Other for Sexual activity, if they Choose to. When One Marries One that's Divorced it's Adultery. If The Sprouse of The Other is Dead then there's No Sin.( do not commit murder). Only Those Born-Again Should Marry One Another. If One is not Saved their first Dancing with The Devil. In a Bad Marriage or not: Pray, Read The Bible Daily, Go to a Church that Preaches The Gospel

Let your light so shine before men so that they me see God's good work in you. Our responsibility as Christian we need to give lights to others so that through us they can see God's light. Jesus is only light of the world to walk with him we can no longer see darkness in our life amen

We should let our fine conduct and good actions show so that all can see. If we imitate God to the best of our ability and others see this, they can give praise to God and we can glorify him by our actions.

This is so true, people do not read the Bible so they look or watch other people and this is were a good Christian can help. We do not know who is watching. We need to live holy as possible to help people get saved. I love Jesus. I enjoyed this so much today. Bless all of you, gail

i am twice married. My first marriage I was a believer of Christ but I wasn't living for him. More broadly; Jesus said in Matthew 5:3-12, that we who are called to be His Blessed Elect, that show forth the nature of our Father in heaven through the contradictions and temptations of this evil world, are His light in the world and the salt which keeps it from rotting.

Hi Anthony; Jesus said in Matthew 5:17, after describing that Blessed character of His elect (3-12; how we are His appointed light of the world and the salt of the earth); that we should not suppose or think that He came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; but to completely make full. We are the objects of His grace in order to show the world the workings of the Law by His Spirit in us. Rom. 3:31

Daniel; isn't it like when we talk to one another; how if we start answering before we hear everything the other wants to say, that that's how misunderstandings get started? We want to hear the Word of God COMPLETELY THROUGH, in its entirety, to know the whole of what He is saying. So, yes, the whole; chapters 5 through 7; and not to pick out the things we like best, but for the whole Word.

Olivia; the "Theme" is the Glad Tidings which Jesus preached and taught everywhere for all men to believe and obey that we might be saved. Matthew 5 is the beginning and foundation of His expounding these things to His disciples: that is, how to practically perform what God commands us, in all our course in life, both toward God and toward one another. Our Father desires truth on the inward parts.

The Sermon On The Mount is the FOUNDATION of all it means to walk with God, and be a Christian. All those things which He calls "Blessed" are the effects of His grace wrought in us and reflecting in our lives for men to see and glorify our Father. Good works, good character, good fruit, all comes from His goodness filled up and made perfect in us. If we don't do these things then we will perish!

The is the mother of all teachings of Christ. May God give us the enabling to abide in total. The enabling, of course, is the Holy Spirit.

YES, servant! as it is written; "Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?" John 10:32; and "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10. God is no respector of persons he loves everybody thats y he sends his sun/son and rain/spirit on the good and the bad the just and unjust. His love and mercy is beyond OUR COMPREHENSION. "Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your REWARD in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." The word in the original Greek Text indicates Payment, as in Wages or Hire for some work done. Our salvation depends on our finishing the course as overcomers, and enduring true and faithful to the end. Then truly by our fruits we shall be known, of what kind we are!

If we can take anything from Matt. . Let it be that Christ is trying to teach us about the Royal Law of love .
