This first scripture clearly warns that Satan will have power to deceive human beings with false signs, even tales of alien creatures, spaceships, mermaids, monsters, vampires, you name it. Cable and streaming tv are full of it.

Guard your mind, heart and eyes. Christians should not view slop on Saturday and sing in Church on Sunday. Don't let your kids watch it.

There is an alternative to watching Netflix. It's called PUREFLIX. I highly recommend it. It's not corny or lame. It's entertaining and doesn't pollute your soul. There's movies for the guys too! You can view the Free Trial for 10 days.

In Deuteronomy 28: God says, Choose Life, so that you and your children may live.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 - [Even him], whose coming is after the working of SATAN with all power and signs and LYING wonders,

Matthew 24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very ELECT (us).

2 Timothy 3:1-5 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (Read More...)

Acts 2:22 - Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Revelation 16:14 - For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, [which] go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

Mark 13:22 - For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect. (YOU)

John 4:48 - Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

Good question? Whose signs and wonders are we watching?

Lizbeth, May the Spirit grace you with His wisdom and His understanding.

Revelations 22:16 I JESUS SENT mine angel to testify unto you (you are the CHURCH) these things in the CHURCHES......

There might be a reason there is no mention of the rapture.

Do you think the un-called study God's word.

1 Peter 1:21 WHO (YOU) by HIM (CHRIST) do BELIEVE.........

Galatians 2:16 KNOWING that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST, even we have BELIEVED (by HIM) in Jesus Christ, that we might be JUSTIFIED (not by the law) but by THE FAITH OF CHRIST (by him), and not the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

    Jesus GIVES you HIS FAITH

Revelation 2:26 And he (the church) that overcometh, and keepeth MY WORKS (remember it's his faith, his wisdom, his truth, his understanding, EVERYTHING HE IS becomes yours through inheritance, you are his child) unto the end (when you depart this body of flesh and are given HIS BODY; (HIS) incorruptible and immortality self becomes yours....

This is the rapture of the church (you) each one individually not collectively.

Isaiah 27:12 And it shall come to pass in that day...... ye shall be gathered ONE BY ONE...

Matthew 24:40 There shall be two in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left.

Revelation 20:5-6 .... this is the first resurrection.

(vs 5) Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection.....

Remember he gives you what is his; therefore he gives us his resurrection.

Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall LIVE together with MY DEAD BODY SHALL THEY ARISE....

Hi Liz, I agree that it can be a little confusing as to what to believe in respect of the Rapture, but even after your study (& consideration of the comments here), you will need to come to your own understanding of this great subject, yet remaining open to the Spirit for any further light you receive through study.

Just a couple of things to keep in mind: you will read of 'tribulation' in the Bible, but you need to ascertain whether it is the 'Great Tribulation' that is being spoken of. We will all go through tribulation while living in the world ( John 16:33, Acts 14:22), but the Great Tribulation is different ( Matthew 24:21).

The Great Tribulation is a short period of time where the outpouring of God's Anger is seen & felt & this Anger is against the world of sinners where God causes a great annihilation through various means. You can compare it to the time of the Great Flood or to the destruction of Sodom & Gomorrah: all these were specific to God's Anger & Judgement rather than from the usual effects of living in a sinful world & condition. And the righteous were saved from His Anger (i.e. Noah, Lot & families) while the others were destroyed.

As Christians, cleansed & saved by the blood of the Lamb, our judgement against sin has already been accomplished at the Cross. Then ask, 'do we have to once again suffer the judgement of God with other Christ-rejectors?' If so, the work at the Cross hasn't fully accomplished its purpose as we would have to be dealt with twice under God's Hand: once in Mercy (seeking forgiveness & spiritual healing/restoration) & then again without Mercy, in Judgement with the others. Or, is His Church removed before His Terrors against sinners are poured out?. And here I speak of God's Judgement only & not at the revelation of the Anti-Christ, which event is not part of that Judgement (Revelation chapters 6 to 19).

For your consideration & discussion in your online Bible study. Blessings.

Hi Liz, I agree with what Richard in Christ said, trusting in the Lord and keeping our faith and Matthew 24:29-31.. The rapture theory pre, mid, or post is based on taking the last week from the 70th-week prophecy given to Daniel in Daniel 9: 27. This is the only scripture that will give you 7 years.

You may ask. How long will the tribulation period last? Is it three and one-half years? Is it seven years? To answer your question I would suggest you study Daniel's 70-week prophecy and if you find what I have found if the 70-week prophecy has been fulfilled it will answer your question. Without the last week, the 7-year rapture theory is false and the pre, mid, or post is irrelevant.

The 70th-week prophecy Daniel 24-27 is Determined on Israel and Jerusalem/The Holy City. This prophecy tells the year the Messiah/Jesus Christ will come the first time, the baptizing by John. They rejected Him. This prophecy also tells when Jesus was crucified.

The seven-year rapture theory is taken from vs 27 and it is said he in this verse is the antichrist and he makes a covenant with Israel and in the middle of this last week, he breaks the covenant, and the great tribulation starts, (short version).

One clue, it was 69 weeks when Jesus came and He was crucified 3 years later, that puts it in the middle of that last week, the 70th week. So who is he? There is also one who we know and scripture backs up, made a covenant. Study to find and be confident in your own heart.

May God bless your study, Ron

    Hello Liz,

As the "Rapture" is not something I get into much as I'm sure you know there seems to be three beliefs, pre/mid/post, of when this will occur in relation of the tribulation in the end. The one verse I see that proves some of Gods children or chosen ones shall be here after the tribulation is stated in Matthew 24:29-31.

I would say just trust in the Lord, keep your faith, no matter what shall come about in this world. Amen.

    God Bless.

    Dear Tom,

One other aspect I have been led to reply to is about how you stated "once anointed one cannot sin". As I can only perceive what you mean is to have received the Holy Ghost after giving our life to the Lord? Unless this is from a higher level in which God knows exactly who are His from before we took our first breath in this earth. How He knows the end before the beginning which is truth.

Now I know some believe in "once saved always saved". Which is nice to think but there is Scripture to contradict with this thought. Like Hebrews 10:26-31, ( 2 Peter 10:20-22. Jesus stating in Matthew 7:21-23. Also in Matthew 24:10-12 that there shall be a falling away and it is "he that shall endure until the end, the same shall be saved".

As we are all just vessels it is Gods choice alone who is to be saved. As in Romans 9:19-24, ( 2 Timothy 2:19-21. Even when God spake to Moses in Exodus 33:19. It is all His will which is Holy and pure.

Though as stated in the couple verses I have posted it seems that people can lose their salvation. As I would believe there are people who have fallen away and maybe hate God and Jesus Christ now. Also knowing of a couple that have fallen away but come back to the Lord. Which I believe shall be forgiven. As it is His will and all things are possible with God.

Four Horsemen: Book of Revelation, Zechariah and Book of John (Patmos)

The four horsemen are described as Satan's army, Conquest, War, Famine and Death. One of the horsemen, Famine, deceives Satan with the intention of working for the side of good.

Four figures in the Book of Revelation who symbolize the evils to come at the end of the world: They are often called the four horsemen of the Apocalypse=

The figure representing CONQUEST rides a white horse

    WAR rides a red horse

    FAMINE, a black horse

PLAGUE and PESTILENCE, (world pandemic) a pale horse. They are often called the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Personally, I believe conquest is the subverting of world governments or political power. The Antichrist goal is to produce one world government and one world religion. Also, one world money system, which the Beast will use to deceive people into taking his Mark into their foreheads or hands: in order to buy and sell goods.

Different Bible translations say of Matthew 24: plagues, pestilence. Our society calls it world pandemics. It's a disguise for the truth told to us 2000 years ago.

All these things are happening together in THIS century; Jesus told us these are the signs of the last generation of people.

Keep watch on world money systems changing to create the One World Money System. Such as bitcoins and other manipulations. Don't fall into the trap thinking governments cannot possibly de-value the money, gold, silver and precious stones, minerals.

    Lol - an apple.

What was satan? - he was a cherub, an angel.

What did God say in Gen. 1:26? - "Let us make man in OUR image..." - I believe God was talking to the angels meaning the angels are in the form like a man. After all, the angels who appeared to Lot were as men; the angel, Gabriel appeared as a man. We can't leave out the fact that the fallen angels ("sons of God" - Gen. 6:2) were able to impregnate women - that's where the giants, or the nephilim*, came from. They had to be in the form of men. Satan, the serpent, would also be able to wholly seduce/beguile Eve and conceive a child with her.

As for Adam taking a 'bite from the apple' - it isn't specific, but I believe satan, who has as the power, given to him by God, to do wonderous things ( Matthew 24:24), could beguile Adam as well - perhaps by appearing as a female or even a homosexual act.

There shouldn't be any question that both Adam and Eve covered their private parts with fig leaves, because they both knew they were "naked." Leviticus ch.18 is very clear about the meaning of naked (nakedness).

If we were to buy into some erroneous teachings regarding the time of the end we might easily be convinced that Jesus was not coming for his Church until certain scheduled events had occurred, thus ignoring the explicit admonition of Jesus to his disciples:

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. ( Matthew 24:42-44)

Well said Bob Grove in your pre-trib rapture comment. The pre-tribulation rapture theory was introduced in the 1830's by John Nelson Darby who was considered be the father of Dispensationalism and Futurism. The pre-tribulation rapture theory is not scriptural no matter how a person attempts to "sell" this theory. Jesus said in Matthew 24:13, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved". But don't stop there, because one needs to read verses 10 thru 16 and beyond in order to read it in context. Let God be true and every man a liar.

    Emily,

In this passage, Matthew 24:15-28, Jesus tells His disciples of the a coming time of great tribulation, with the warning, "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place."

This is the Daniel prophecy that Jesus was referring to, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate." Dan 9:27

An event like this happened in 167 BC when Antiochus IV desecrated the Temple and persecuted the Jews.

Some Christians think that Jesus' warning to, "pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:" Mat 24:20 was referring to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. Others, including me, believe that this will be a future time known as The Great Tribulation or the time of Jacob's trouble or the Day of the LORD.

I have always been told we are supposed to rejoice when Christians go home.

If our faith was strong enough we would be happy for them because we know they are in a better place.

A place far better than here.

Matthew Chapter 24 and Mark 13, explains this very well.

    Matthew 24:1-51 and Mark 13:4-37

Matthew 24:38-41 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Mark 13:6 "For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."

Mark 13:32 "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father."

I agree, Richard Groom. Everything said by Paul, Peter, John is in complete harmony with what Jesus said in Matthew 24:9. The argument is that 24 is for the Jews. But that is a stretch. The chapter begins by telling us the Disciples of

"Jesus got together and asked Him about His Return and the End of the Age. The fact that they were Jews is inconsequential.

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said,

"when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"

    His response follows.

"Immediately after the Tribulation of those days

    "'the sun will be darkened,

    the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

the heavenly bodies will be shaken.'

"Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth

will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven,

with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call,

and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Even a cursory comparison of all the references in the New and Old Testament concerning the Last Days and the Return of Jesus, shows no deviation from the Timeline Jesus presents in 24:9. The idea that there is a pre-coming before the Coming, ignores the parallels and the words of Jesus. There isn't a single place in all of Scripture where a specific time is revealed for the Second Coming, that isn't in keeping with 24:9. And if there were a secret pre-coming, why didn't Jesus reveal it to His disciples, who came to Him privately?

Revelation tells us clearly that many will be persecuted and killed during the Tribulation, FOR THEIR TESTIMONY OF CHRIST. Revelation 7:14 "These are they who have come out of the great tribulation.

The Day of Wrath is the final hour, not the full 7 years.
  • Richard Groom - In Reply on Matthew 24:29 - 4 years ago

These 2 witness's lie in the streets dead after there testimony for 3 1/2 days. Notice how Revelation 11:9 states "togunes" and "Nations" will witness this?

We are the first generation that could witness this based off current technologies we have today: Internet, television, phones and other means to watch live events from anywhere in the world.

This should also make you thinnk of the technology available to implement the Mark of the Beast that will be ushered in around this same timeframe.

Get ready folks, Jesus is coming! Have you been born again with the spirt of God? If not humble yourself before the Lord and ask for his forgiveness. He loves you and forwarns you of things to come to keep you from the torment of hell.

I believe you're correct, that current & future technology will play a major role in not just uniting the world (as we see evidence of it now), but also be instrumental in giving the base to a one world government. Man might believe that with his knowledge & expertise in so many fields, that he is the 'saviour' for the world's woes: but the only evidence we see is that constant deterioration in his true spiritual & mental condition that might show him proficient in his works but deficient in his connection to his Maker & Redeemer.

Food for thought. In Genius Babel was the separating of nations and languages. Through current technology this separation is being restored through translation programs, international financial systems and currency. With that being said humans and principalities are in the process of restoring Babel (humanism). Man can solve all is own problems by the power of his own hand. I believe the beast is AI, whoever controls worldwide computer technology and those who prosper by it will be controlling communication, commerce, criminal prosecution. For the first time in my life I see ancient prophecy being fulfilled before my eyes. The evil events which are occurring are in fact a testament to the factual truth annotated in KJ Bible. I do not know if the Catholic Church or the US is the great whore however either one seems qualified based on their current state as opposed to their founding. In summary we as Christians need to Trust God in the storm, Expect and prepare for persecution, God is harvesting His children and He deserves the very best. Count it a privilege to have the opportunity to show Him your Faith, Loyalty and Trust because He deserves the very best

To say that not even Jesus knows is dangerous, after all He and His Father are One, and Jesus is the one descending on that day. That being said the "knoweth" in Matthew 24:36 as well "know" in 1 Corinthians 2:2 are the same Greek word and can mean to "make known" depending on the context. So given the context of both passages. Jesus is saying that no one will declare or "make known" that that day or hour except his father. Just like Paul is saying he didn't come to teach or "make known" anything other that Christ crucified. Paul also says in 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 Says that we "Christians" are children of light and that, that day should not overtake us unawares. God has provided us many examples or signs that we can look out for that we can be ready for his coming. Matthew 24, all of Revelations, Daniel chapters 2,7,8 11, and 12, as well as some chapters in Ezekiel, Isiah, and Jeremiah. Just like Christs' baptism, and crucifixion was accurately predicted in Daniel chapter 9:23-27

So, if even Jesus doesn't know, why would you think you can? It already says in the Bible no one knows. So, when someone claims they know or thinks they can know, the Bible already debunked that. I trust God's word over what man says.

Also God is not the author of death satan was the one who caused all of jobs problems. Remember in the end of job he got back seven fold. When we believe we have no fear, how many times in Gods word does he write fear not, a ton.

I understand your question as being moot. From a human perspective, what God did (or allowed) to Job's offspring seems unwarranted & lacking in love & concern for human value. But if we are to query God for allowing that to happen, then we must include any evil that befalls us & cause us wonder, why did God remain quiet or why didn't He intervene?

Then the matter of God's Sovereignty & Him being the Creator are brought into question. As well as God's view of death & man's view. And the suffering which the saints have undergone throughout the ages, which would cause man to ask, "Why to those instead of others more worthy?". We could also ask, 'What role does Satan play causing suffering or death to people even now'?

These matters we have to deal with in our hearts, but there are no easy answers except to submit to the Sovereignty & Wisdom of God, as Job had to do, as Stephen had to do while being stoned, & countless others. We have been given the privilege to be born into the World to experience life & more importantly, the Love of God. Do we then have the right to question the Giver of Life as to why He allows the death of someone now & of another, later? Should we not look at our lives as a gift from God & that He has every right to remove it however & whenever He chooses? The only way I could question God's actions or permissions is if I'm a part of the Godhead (within His very Being). From any other position, I will have to admit to ignorance & submit to His Lordship as the all-wise Creator.
