Over the years, and there have been many. I have had 85 revs around the sun and hope to have quite a few more. During that time I studied myself out of 2 'Christian Churches'. I just couldn't abide by what they were teaching. If anybody asks me, "What am I" I would answer, I am a Son of the Living Creator God. If someone were ask me, "Prove there is a God", I would reply, prove there isn't.

My brothers and sisters let's not be mislead but be wise and be aware of those lying lips, Psalm 31:18-Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt. in the book of Acts we also see it clear Acts 7:51-53 You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you. 52Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who announced beforehand the coming of the Righteous One, whom you have now betrayed and murdered, 53you who received the law as delivered by angels and did not keep it. Let's stop rejecting the truth and the righteous one. aslo in book Psalm- Psalm 120:2-Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, From a deceitful tongue. let's not fall in are own traps when we speak to others about the word of God with lying lips, practice what you preach we should always pray and let him teach us! Matthew 23:8-8.But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers.c 9And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. 10Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. these are the things to teach others the true word without lying lips.

    Romans 2:7-8 "eternal life"=entering God's Kingdom. "Indignation and wrath"=eternal damnation=burning in hell.
Proverbs 9:18"But he knows not that the dead are there and that her guests are in the depths of hell:" Proverbs 15:11, 15:24, 27:20, Psalms 55:15, Matthew 23:33, Luke 10:15, Revelations 1:18, etc, etc. Looks like Gods' theology !!!! Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Amen

Verse 1, Paul is calling Jesus an Apostle! Paul was alive when Jesus selected his 12 Apostles but Paul was not one of them. Jesus never mentioned Paul. Paul made religion a profession.
The definition of a profession is a paid occupation or an open but often false declaration or claim. Moses and his laws are not the house that Jesus built. Matthew 23:15

The Word of the Lord is the truth and the only truth. If we look around we can plainly see the actual Pharesees, the modern ones, doing the same things their ancestors did. I believe with all my heart and soul, there is one and only one father. Our Father and Lord, our creator...!
  • Beatrice Hutchinson on Matthew 23 - 10 years ago
commenting on v9 when God speak is words are truth if he say something we should listen we should do as he said because he is God. for example the pope people called him holy father only one holy father and is God almighty. People need to to worship God and not man.
  • Cynthia on Matthew 23 - 10 years ago
Matthew teach us not to said one thing and then do another thing. we should not live an double stander in life. if we teach and peach the word of God to our fellow labors we should set the same standard in our life.
  • Abelardo bolinao on Matthew 23 - 10 years ago
Our lord Jesus in this chapter emphasize the faults of the Pharisees and scribe. Most importantly, the truth about the FATHER, and mans true identity. Verse 12 . And they even block those who seek the truth and salvation. But he also advise that should you want to be great you should humble yourself. With the only one Father, the Jews and the Israelites knew that we are spiritual and we only have one Father. The Father in heaven but they are worshipping other entities. In wisdom of Solomon you will see what we really are

In response to the comments regarding Scripture reference "call no man Father... " - most of which are disparaging remarks directed at Catholics who address their Pastors as "Father "! Who among you have not referred to your own biological male parent as being "your father ". So what does Lord Jesus have reference to in this passage? I would suggest that we need to look at the overall context in which our Lord makes the statement. Peace be with you!

What you've got to remember is that Jesus wept over the holy city and what had become of her .so taking this into account i personally believe the verse is saying .that Israel has to come to repentance. Because we know that they saw Jesus again at his trial and cried, "we want Barbabas." They rejected him and as we know Jerusalem had been a holy city.
  • Jeff Ivy on Matthew 23:10 - 10 years ago
According to the gospel, the meaning is clear. Jesus said that he is the only shepherd, teacher, poimen, pastor. He said this again in John 10:16. He also said much about hired shepherds in John 10:11-13. I find it ironic that just above these comments there is a paid ad that says, "Ready to be a Pastor? Click here "

Verse 37 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! " brings to mind how we parents feel when we see our beloved children making decisions to disrespect the rules of their parents while wanting to remain living in their parents ' house....
  • Charles on Matthew 23:9 - 11 years ago
what it means by call no man your father on earth is that those who put their trust in their pastors or religious leader calling them their spiritual fathers is what Jehovah hates. making a man your father whom you consult instead of speaking to God our heavenly father through.

  • Eddie Lopez on Matthew 23:23 - 11 years ago
Most Christians seem to live unto themselves, taking care of themselves and their families this is only self preservation. Likewise, they pay their tithes and will say that they "have their relationship with God, " and that is enough. They forget the more important part of the law taking care of others, showing mercy and standing up for justice when it 's needed.

Jesus clearly shows us how religion kills the spirituality of true faith. which creates the true relationship with GOD through Jesus. It is not the actions of man, but the faith and oneness with the holy spirit wish creats true love and faith, all else is hypocrisy,

Servants are not greater than their master, And humbleness is thus required when a servant rises to the closer ranks of the master.

Re Matthew ch 23 vs 13 to 30 Only the Son of God could speak with such AUTHORITY . also I noticed with the same Authority HE spoke in John chapter 10 vs 7 to 10. I cannot even imagine how great Authority HE will return to establish the KINGDOM OF GOD .Alleluyah!
  • Richard on Matthew 23 - 11 years ago
Jesus rails at a church of unjust stewards, I think especially at the fact for those that are entering to go into the kingdom through Jesus and they the Pharisees shut the door. It is the ultimate appeal of Father God to his children to seek repentance before it is too late. Straining out a knat while your commission of sin after sin is unbelievable!. Opulence, decadance, greed and graft Shortly Jesus would enter into the Temple of Jerusalem and also declare " my Father 's house is to be called a house of prayer and you have turned it into a den of thieves " ' not to be outdone the scribes and Pharisees turn it quickly from a den of thieves into a den of murderers. Matthew chapter 23 is an absolute declaration of corruption. We the Brethren the flock look to those who are to lead us in the words of life, the words of God, the words of truth that Jesus of Nazareth provides. It is disturbing that all the innocent blood shed upon the earth will fall upon this generation at that time. Jesus heals and saves those who are willing to hear His Word the words of God the Father even the leaders of the religion of "unjust stewards ". Jesus Christ has come in the flesh thank you my Father God in heaven and earth, amen .
