"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."
John 14:18
"I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
Psalms 55:22
"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."
Matthew 21:22
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
John 14:13
"And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."
The function of the body of Christ: Separate from the world.
And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. ( Matt. 21:13).
The perspective of the Christ of the humanist or left leaning person politically is that somehow He inspired love through calls for unity (i.e. the "great teacher" delusion). Many of the same persuasion choose as Atheists (often a clever smokescreen for Satanists who deny the one they spend half of their lives praising) to call the God of the Old Testament cruel and inhuman; and as one particular well known false preacher today tries to separate their construct of Jesus of the New Testament from that entity.
Now there are perhaps timid yet in their minds well meaning Christians who realize what the culture would like in terms of submission and therefore don't want to force their beliefs on others. That is sort of another angle to my last post in terms of the fact we don't have a Theocracy like ancient Israel did in the past; and having one today isn't a good plan either. But here I am stating that in the house of God as we see from Matthew 21:13 there should be some sort of jealousy for His name's sake.
The basic math boils down to this: How deep or shallow do we want our fellowship with the saints to be? Should it be a social club where people hang out; eat; discuss everyday activities; complain about the ills of the world around them (particularly those of the political opposition) and basically do everything the world does? Or; maybe the adage "woe unto you" should be the default response to someone not idolizing the local football team as one example. Jeremiah 9:24 along with the more familiar passages in 2 Corinthians discuss of boasting of God's power; not our own. What we exalt; we hold up as worthy for admiration and in the case of Christ; for worship. Once we see the value of Him; that naturally extends to His church and we exalt the Word!
Hello Franklinc.. We do see glimpses of Jesus Christ, in the prophet Jeremiah, both in his person and writings. Even some of the people of Jesus' day wondered whether this Jesus personified one of the OT prophets, such as Jeremiah ( Matthew 16:13,14). Whether they actually saw something about Jesus' Life and Ministry that led them to wonder or maybe they believed that Jesus came in the spirit and power of those men, we can't know.
Jeremiah prophesied about Jesus (not by Name of course) in Jerermiah 23:5,6; and this prophecy is still future when Jesus returns to Earth and sits on the 'Throne of David'.
Jeremiah also speaks about a New Covenant ( Jeremiah 31:31-34). Although Jesus brought in a New Covenant in His Blood, which we are the blessed recipients of, Israel by-and-large have rejected it to this day. But this is the final Covenant, for no greater can be made other than through God's Son's Sacrifice. But the day will come when the fulfilment of this Covenant will be realized when all Jewry will acknowledge the Giver of this Covenant & be transformed in the inner man.
Jeremiah 11:19-21; Jeremiah 20:7-18. The prophet suffered very much physically. Even as Isaiah spoke of Jesus being "brought as a lamb to the slaughter" ( Isaiah 53:7), Jeremiah voices the same grief unto himself ( Jeremiah 11:19).
Jesus seems to quote Jeremiah in His castigation of the temple merchants ( Matthew 21:12,13; cf Jeremiah 7:9-11).
So, a few examples that I could think of that hopefully addresses your question. Blessings.
"Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:"
Psalms 103:3
"Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;"
Psalms 103:4
"Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;"
Isaiah 41:10
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Matthew 21:22
"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
Romans 2:29 is frequently used to say "true Israel is spiritual, therefore the church is spiritual Israel." But Paul is speaking in Romans 2:17 to Jews-people "called a Jew" under the Old Testament law. Israel's outward circumcision had become worthless through disobedience ( Rom 2:23-25). True covenant Jews are those circumcised in heart ( Deut 10:16), not just outwardly.
Paul is addressing unbelieving Israel, not redefining the church. In Romans 9:6-11, he describes removing faithless Jews ("dead branches")-but does not replace them with Gentiles. The "doers of the law" were not Gentiles, nor the church ( Rom 3:19-21). Spiritual Israel in the New Testament is believing Israel under the new covenant ( Heb 8:8-12).
Jesus declared in Matthew 21:43 that the kingdom would be taken from unbelieving Israel and given to a believing Israelite nation-not the body of Christ. The NT replaces the OT within Israel's program, but the church is separate, revealed as the "mystery" apart from covenant promises.
And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. ( Matthew 21:44)
44 "In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever. ( Daniel 2:44).
Theme: Better to be broken than crushed.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. ( Psalm 51:17).
I suppose it could be said God is the ultimate party crasher. Just when Satan gets things up to speed and rapidly approaches his goal of total destruction and control of the earth Christ shows up to put an end to this kingdom of darkness after 3.5 years of the worst time ever on earth. At that time the kingdoms of this world are trashed and destroyed without a trace. Man's impenitent heart will not have any wisdom after seeing all the destruction over most of the earth by that time; somehow they think that after all their defeats by God's judgments they can collectively fight against and defeat Christ at Armageddon with whatever devices they come up with.
7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. 8Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. 9For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. 10For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. ( Psalm 37:7-10).
I may be led here to give another talk on Revelation; again it does show predestination as all those who are not written in the book of Life will worship him) (the beast) as seen in Revelation 13:8. This is wrath which the true church will be delivered from in the Rapture.
Please follow me through this thought experiment, comments appreciated.....
As Christians, we often refer to Matthew 21:21 and the casting of the mountain into the sea when talking of faith. In this context, the the mountain in question is a problem or obstacle in our lives. But what is Jesus Himself were the mountain Psalm 118:22 which we all at times "cast off." It's only after we find ourselves drowning in the depths of despair Psalm 71:20 that we meet with Him again Psalm 138:8 right where we placed Him. Micah 7:19 Only this time, He appears more glorious than ever, John 6:29 for we see Him from a different perspective, just as He intended. Matthew 13:13-17 And when we see Him as He is, we shall be changed and we shall be like Him. 1 John 3:2
Matthew 21:22 only applied to the Disciples as this was a private conversation prefaced his address to "ye". This means that Jesus does not promise every believer that he will receive the product of their prayers if asked in his name. This is verified in Acts when we see the Apostles conducting many miracles in ways we don't see today.
Many traditions are followed, but do they line up with Scripture? The week Jesus was crucified, Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the first day of the week, which would have been the 10th of Nisan. This would be the same day the people were to put up the lamb that would be sacrificed on Passover Day, the 14th of Nisan, Exodus 12:3. The money changers were selling animals for the Passover and other sacrifices. They were also exchanging money for the temple tax or tribute; it had to be a half-shekel.
Each day is recorded in Matthew 21 through Matthew 27:56, Mark 11:1 through Mark 15:41, Luke 19:28 through Luke 23:49, and John 12:1 through John 19:37.
John 12:1 John states it was six days before Passover when they arrived in Bethany, and the next day Jesus rode into Jerusalem, which was five days until Passover. Today, this day is referred to as Palm Sunday, the first day of the week.
Day one, 10th of Nisan, Jesus rides into Jerusalem, casts out the money changers and returns to Bethany, and lodges there, Matthew 21:1-17, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:1 through Luke 23:49. Luke does not cover the back and forth to Bethany, and John 12:1-50, John then picks up at the Last Supper.
Day two, 11th of Nisan, shows Jesus going back to Jerusalem, the fig tree, casting out the money changers again, just like the first Passover He attended in His three and a half years' ministry, John 2:14-16. The plot started with how to kill Jesus, Matthew 21:18- Matthew 25:46, Mark 11:12 through Mark 13:37, Luke 22:38. Matthew, Mark, and Luke cover Jesus' teachings in the temple, parables, and the Olivet discourse.
Day three, 12th of Nisan, is two days until Passover, Matthew 26:2-13, Mark 14:1-2. The plot to kill Jesus got more intense.
Here we see the Parable of the Two Sons (v. 28-32) and the Parable of the Tenants (v. 33-41) followed by further warnings of Christ of the Kingdom of God. Verse 42 contains a quote from Psalm 118 showing that He was indeed the stone which they had rejected after they affirmed in the second parable what should be done to the wicked tenants when the owner comes back.
It appears from my limited study that John has the most references to attempts to kill Christ; although some manuscripts eliminate the last verse in Matthew 21 no doubt there was constant desire to go after the Lord whether to arrest Him or kill Him on the spot. They were concerned about the reaction of the crowd for the obvious fact that miracles couldn't be denied. NO one ever cast any doubt on the veracity of the miracles; but they did as to who He was and His credentials such as denying His virgin birth ( John 8:41); and he being merely the son of Joseph and Mary in John 6:42. Which was it the real or illegitimate son? They couldn't accept the virgin birth which means the testimony of Mary and Joseph was taken to be false in that regard.
They knew that no one had ever healed the blind even with the resurrection recorded in the book of Kings of the widow's son. ( 1 Kings 17; John 9:32).
Reading Isaiah 53 shows a graphic picture of Christ and His sufferings at the cross along with other passages in that book and other prophecies such as Psalm 22 in particular. Which is more of a miracle God in all His glory creating the heavens and the earth and sustaining the universe or condescending to take human form to be the propitiation for our sins? ( 1 John 2:2). Which displays His Divine attributes most clearly? In truth; both aspects need to be emphasized lest we consider Him to be anything less than God or insufficient to come in our place to make an atonement for all of the sins of His children. First He had to live as one of us in order to die in our place ( 1 Cor. 15
Matthew 21:12-13. The overturning of the moneychangers' tables.
This game had been played before as quoted in John 2. The tables had been turned at the inception of His ministry and it is mentioned in all 4 Gospels. There are some who even theorize He did this 3 times. It is pretty clear here that they hadn't learned their lesson. The basic idea was that exorbitant rates were being charged for animals used for sacrifice; and that this was in the Gentile area the only section they could be. I am not familiar enough to know if it was Jews only or Gentiles also involved in these extortion efforts. Jesus here showed He could have righteous indignation without sin.
I am sure there are many money raising efforts which are still being operated today with autographed books; and other literature; T shirts; music etc. that can end up being in the same category as what happened with the Pharisees. This is probably why the world won't go to pay exorbitant prices at such places; even if they are seeking a Bible there are plenty of discount places including libraries where you can get stuff either for free or a nominal fee. This isn't to say it is necessarily wrong; but whan a ministry tries to promote themselves with their names emblazoned on clothing; or Christian musicians try to promote themselves in a thinly veiled appeal to the cause of Christ we should at least be discerning. Enough on that for now.
Apparently I lied yet again; Jesus did more healing in verses 15-16; followed by the Pharisees getting mad with this and children praising Him where Christ quotes Psalm 8:2. This is a learning process; although if someone catches me on an error I won't take it personally.
Verses 18-21 discuss the fig tree withering immediately when Jesus was hungry. The account in the Book of Mark 11:20 seems to be different as the tree wasn't withered until they returned that evening. Maybe someone turned around after the rest went ahead and saw it earlier?
Matthew 19 discusses the fact that anyone who wants to enter the Kingdom of Heaven must be as a child. In fact verse 10 states
10 "See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven. [11] [a]. Apparently some texts add Luke 19:10 after this about God seeking to save the lost. Causing one of them to stumble also is a severe warning in verse 6
6 "If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
Some argue this can mean those who are babes in Christ rather than strictly children. I can see that as plausible; certainly consequences of causing someone to sin because of our own sin against them or leading them astray is a very scary thought.
Nonetheless we see other verses where the children come to Christ in 3 of the 4 Gospels. Children praising God comes from the concept of Psalm 8:2; we see this in Matthew 21:16; Matthew 11:25 and Luke 10:21 show "babes" having things revealed to them. Again whether it is babes in Christ ( 1 Cor. 3:1) or in the context of actual children; it is pretty clear children are the main focus here. Verses 8 and 9 also show how horrible hell is in regard to cutting feet or gouging our eyes out as being preferable.
I take this as literal truth; not that doing such a thing will keep us from sinning as there are always other ways that can be found; we don't see any scriptural evidence of anyone doing this but clearly hell is worse than any earthly sufferings and to be avoided at all costs. The main concept here is that any sinful lifestyle indicates an unrepentant heart; we need to put to death our members such as Colossians 3:5 indicates.
Jesus as a preacher possible had a job as a carpenter with His stepfather Joseph.
Matthew 13:55
Is not this thecarpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
Jesus as a preacher does not believe in a church to sell goods for profit.
Matthew 21:12
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of themoneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
Jesus as a preacher also paid his taxes .
Matthew 17:24-27
24And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
25He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
26Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
27Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.
I hope you don't mind. Concerning the crucifixion and resurrection days, if we compare all the gospels, all four give the clearest truth.
In John 12:1-12, we learn that six days before Passover, Jesus visited the house of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in Bethany. The following day, He rode into Jerusalem, five days before Passover. This event was significant because it coincided with the 10th of Nisan, the day the lambs were selected and held until the 14th when they would be sacrificed for Passover, the same time Jesus died on the cross, Exodus 12:1-14. These Passover lambs were eaten the night of the 15th the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread the day Israel went out of Egypt.
Sunday Matthew 21:1-17, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:28-22:7, and John 12:12-50.
Monday, Matthew 21:18-19 Mark 11:12-19 This was the 11th, four days before Passover the 2nd day of the week.
Tuesday, Matthew 21:20 to 26:2 Mark 11:20 to 14:2 This was the 12th, three days before Passover, the third day of the week.
Wednesday, Matthew 26:6-16Mark 14:3-11Luke 22:1-6 This was the 13th, and at sunset is Passover day the 14th. The Last Supper, the arrest, sent to Pilot, the crucifixion, and placed in the tomb were all on the 14th, Passover day. Friday would be the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
Jesus was in the tomb Thur. Day, Fri, Night, Fri. Day, Sat. Night, Sat. Day, Sun. Night, three days, and three nights. Jesus rose on the first day of the week and fulfilled the Feast of First Fruits, Leviticus 23:10-14 This coincides with what Jesus told Mary, touch me not, He had not ascended to His Father, John 20:17. The Feast of First Fruits as we see is on the first day after the Sabbath after Passover Day.
If Jesus was crucified on Wednesday, the women could have gone to the tomb on Friday because Friday is a preparation day for the weekly Sabbath.
"This is the day that THE LORD has made we shall rejoice and be glad in it [ Psalm 118:24] We believe and have faith that all our prayers are heard and answered[ Matthew 21:22] We also know that through the Grace of YAH and by the power of The Blood of YESHUA / CHRIST that David, his daughters and every member of their young families are covered, bought and paid for in full [ 1 Corinthians 7:23]. the wicked one shall have no legal rights over any area of their lives. In YESHUA NAME I declare that the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT of YAH be upon this whole house as a wall of fire round about and as HIS Glory in their midst [ Zechariah 2:5] And may eat of the fruits of the Holy Spirit of YAH/ GOD - peace, joy, love, faith, goodness, kindness, gentleness, sobriety & patience [ Galatians 5:22-23] and May all their needs be met [ Philippians 4:19] In YESHUA NAME. Amen!"

Matthew 21:9 - And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna is a Hebrew word that means "save now." It is a compound Hebrew word HOSHEA, which means save, and NA which means now. So, they are saying Hosanna to the Son of David. And again, that is a term for Messiah. "Save Now Messiah" is what they are singing. Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. They are singing praise to Him.
Matthew 21:10 - And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
The Greek word for moved is SEISMOS. That is where we get seismology from, the study of earth movement. You have to remember that there are a few million people in Jerusalem, wall-to-wall people. And they're going who is this? What is going on here? Singing messianic praises to this man and giving him a dignitary's welcome into Jerusalem. So, they are saying, who is this?
Matthew 22:2 - The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king (so this is now royalty), which made a marriage for his son.
I want to emphasize the word GAMOS that is used here, because it is not a wedding. It is a wedding feast. The wedding is part of it, but we are talking here about the festivities that are at least seven days and can be 10 or 14 days.
Healing can be based on mercy, healing always requires faith, great faith produces miracles (think about Jesus how He had great faith) It takes time to be holy, if a believer does not yet have great faith to produce miracles, then continue to grow the faith that you have. Each has a measure of faith. Healing can also be a process.
Yes, the promises of healing still apply and are active. God does not change His mind concerning that He sent His only begotten son to save, HEAL and deliver. Now Jesus has rose from the dead and has all power in heaven and in earth, (not just in certain places) everywhere you believe or where ever there is faith there is healing and deliverance.
It takes time to be holy, if a believer does not yet have great faith to produce miracles, then grow the faith you have. It shows you have faith because you came to this website. Each day work and build up your most holy faith.
A large mountain is climbed one step at a time. Believe everyday, all day, commune with God in your heart, hold fast to your believeth that God loves you and is for you to be healed. Go to the doctor if you have to, but hold fast to your faith in God.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:5 KJV
"Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done." Matthew 21:21 KJV
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23 KJV
"...but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word." Isaiah 66:2 KJV
Faith works if you hold on to the faith. God is always standing by.
Luke 6 says in these two verses: 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
And John 14:23
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Proverbs 8:36 states that those who hate God love death (that is also somewhere in John I believe).
I am going out on a limb here somewhat; but I would say that in the context of verses in John and 1 John that indicate
evidence of saving faith is loving the brethren that would necessitate as with these other passages that first there is in
the individual a hearing of the Word of God. That would be probably what scripture would define as calling someone; or the "general call". The parable of the seed and the sower shows that; with the exception of the one in stony ground that Satan steals immediately; there is a process where BEFORE fruit comes to maturity there is a testing of trials as well as worldly temptations to try to thwart fruit coming to maturity.
At the very least; this proves that some come to faith and immediately begin to grow when they first hear the Gospel and others fall away. It also shows the third possibility such as is illustrated in Matthew 21:29-31 about two sons; one of whom says he won't follow but later does; and vice versa. This could be insight as to those who appear to be averse to conversion but later come to faith; along with a warning of those who only make a VERBAL assent but don't have a heart change as indicated by Romans 10:9. I haven't heard this analysis but think there is some merit to it; as anyone who falls away short of producing good fruit appears NOT to be saved in reality. Could part of being saved be our reaction to the testing of God? This could be a key factor many are missing and these verses show deeds follow words.
In my last post after I got wiped out AGAIN the first time I forgot to elaborate on the verse of the servant who said he wouldn't do something and later does; and vice versa. ( Matthew 21:30). We need to test the validity of a true disciple over time not instant following; that concept is also true for identifying who is truly saved; and corresponds with the parable of the "good fruit".
Another thought before I attempt to get into what seems clearly "secondary issues" I will also add to this discussion by stating that someone who is a true disciple has to make the hard decisions to go against church leadership or bring a disciplinary issue up with the church if one on one with a rebellious brother proves futile. This would include and I fear increasingly so these days challenging those who are teaching errant doctrine; no matter how esteemed the minister. If we aren't willing to be jealous for His Name's sake; we may end up with a church being much the same as the Temple was when Jesus had to clear it out overturning the moneychangers tables; that is a house of merchandise that is literally selling out the souls of men under it's roof. This is following in Christ's footsteps; and walking in the Spirit means we love the things He loves; and hate things He hates.
Furthermore; being a disciple means standing up for brothers and sisters who are being persecuted; even to risking our own lives when necessary. I won't give a manual on the subject as it varies depending on the situation we are in; protecting our family and whatever the Lord brings into our lives as a challenge in this area. Nonetheless; it is how we take seriously verses such as Matthew 25:36 which I believe is ultimately fulfilled in the Tribulation which will determine those who are saved by their behaviors when all of God's people are imprisoned or killed for their faith and support anywhere in the world will guarantee our lives are in jeopardy.
29'I will not,' he replied. But later he changed his mind and went. 30Then the man went to the second son and told him the same thing. 'I will, sir,' he said. But he did not go. 31Which of the two did the will of his father?" "The first," they answered. Jesus said to them, "Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
( Matthew 21:29-31).
We see through Romans 8:30 the idea of being called; justified and glorified without any mention of sanctification implied through discipleship. We can look at immature believers in Corinth who likely died in some cases without really being effective disciples. Nonetheless; we want to ensure that as Paul says in Phillipians 3:14 that we run for the prize. Crowns given for ministry; patient endurance or martyrdom don't come easy or to all but nonetheless since it affects our stance and spiritual authority under the King at least for the Millennium if not all eternity these are vital goals for us to pursue!
When we consider the Great Commission and God's calling for us to go and make Disciples of all men in Matthew 28:19-20 we certainly see that emphasized; and that seemingly over the concept of just leading men to Christ which of course is part of what it means to teach all the things Jesus meant and taught to His own on His earthly ministry.
The concept of personal sanctification and becoming separate from the world; therefore is also part of our growth as well as teaching others to be FOLLOWERS of Christ and the sacrificial lives that should accompany their declaration of salvific faith.
It has been stated and I wholeheartedly agree that today the message of coming to Christ is often watered down. This often is to keep attendance up and money coming in from unscrupulous church leaders. It also comes from the misguided notion that we may say something to scare someone off unnecessarily. We must share hard truth with love.
When considering the return of Christ from our perspective we look forward to the conquering King at His second coming (which in reality is at least His third appearance since He ascended from the grave as a sort of part b to His first appearing in the form of the Son of Man; and the Second Coming is split into the Rapture when He appears in the air and when He physically returns at Armaggedon being a sort of "fourth" coming).
Of course this term doesn't appear in scripture; nor does the Word "trinity". Rapture is what Harpazo means after translation to the term "rapturo" so it isn't in our English texts. In a broader context; Christ appeared in the Old Testament many times (known as a Christophene if it is spelled right). It would seem that the Preincarnate Christ would be there all times; in fact when the Lord communed with man; as no man can see God and live ( Exodus 33:20). The same could be said for Christ in all His glory; John fell at His feet as though dead in his encounter in Revelation ( Rev. 1:17-18).
It is truly profound to consider how Christ was reduced to the microscopic size of a human fetus; just as much as a virgin birth. Surely in that state the angels were protecting him; being part of the Godhead wasn't part of His earthly ministry ( Philippians 2:7) as He had to live as a substitute for us; but without sin as well as dying as our atonement as the perfect sacrifice. The fact that Christ died for His enemies is remarkable. How He took on our sins is incomprehensible as well; but this was God's plan from before the foundation of the earth.
May us all remember the verse Matthew 21:44 in regard to falling on Christ. When He returns He will fall on His enemies and crush all the empires of this world as foretold in Daniel 2:45. Let us fall down in worship and adoration today.
This chapter is primarily focused on the Millennium promises of blessings and old age for Jerusalem; peace; and a return from diaspora. It demonstrates how all nations will be blessed and desire the God of Israel as well (v. 22-23).
Verses 2-3 state
2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.3 Thus saith the Lord; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain.
God is a jealous God as we see in Exodus 34:14. We are reminded from Christ's zealous behavior in the Temple in Matthew 21:13 of the verse in Isaiah 56:7 and that speaks to these passages as well as to Jerusalem being a city of prayer for the whole earth someday. Later chapters in Zechariah discuss Christ fighting for Israel when they finally recognize that Christ is their Messiah; not before.
Verses 9-10 remind those who built the Temple in that time of the resistance. But verses 11-12 contrast what will happen in the last days. Verses 14-15 state: 14 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I repented not:15 So again have I thought in these days to do well unto Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
Verse 19 discusses the subject of fasts and feasts asked about earlier. Apparently these will go on during the Millennium period.
Have you ever presented the Gospel to a atheist or perhaps a Muslim?
The first thing they refer you to is the 10 commandments and their argument sounds just like those who present the keeping of the law as a means of salvation.
So, they should have a clear understanding of what the law was for and what it did "by the scriptures" through a study in Romans, Galatians, and Corinthians.
Romans 7:8-14.
Galatians 2:16-21.
Galatians 3:1-29.
2 Corinthians 3:5-11. and then perhaps scriptures like Philippians 3:2-14.
These verses convict the sinner and put all under sin. That's what the law was for!
Our outward ceremonies and obedience at our best couldn't make us perfect! There is no new birth!
God requires perfection that is why he required a perfect replacement, Lamb. Christ Jesus.
SANCTIFICATION FOLLWS THIS.
Consider Israel.
God displayed the fallen nature of man and their inability to perform even while God was in their midst and carried them. This was and still is an example to us.
We are lost hopeless sheep gone astray apart from Jesus's blood shed on the cross.
Understand Matthew 21:42.
Jesus is the chief cornerstone, the pivotal piece of the foundation in which we are to build on.
When we are led by the Spirit we're building with precious stone. When we are led by the flesh, we build with wood hay and stubble. every man's work shall be tested by fire.
WHEN ISRAEL AS A NATION IS DRIVEN TO CALL ON THEIR MESSIAH THOSE WHO ACCEPT HIM AT THAT TIME WILL BE SAVED ALSO. AND GOD WILL BE SANCTIFIED IN THEM.
Romans 8:7 For the CARNAL MIND is ENMITY (in direct rebellion) against God (the WORD) ....
Most Christians are STILL under the influence of a carnal mind (Satan, deceptions, falsehoods).
Christ is TRUTH, anything not of TRUTH is ANTI-christ.
Isaiah 55:8 ....MY thoughts (the mind of Christ) are not your thoughts (the carnal mind, ANTI-christ) ......
Isaiah 59:7 ..... their thoughts (the carnal mind) are thoughts of iniquity ......
Luke 15:30 And as soon as this thy son was come, which has devoured thy living with HARLOTS, thou hast killed FOR HIM the fatted calf.
Matthew 21:31..... HARLOTS go into the kingdom of heaven before you .....
Hosea 4:14 I WILL NOT punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor you spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves (those with carnal minds) are seperated with whores, and they (the carnal minded) sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that DOETH NOT UNDERSTAND SHALL FALL.
The carnal mind WILL NOT understand these scriptures, it takes the mind of Christ to understand God's parables.
Thank you Sister Star1964 for your reply & I can understand the difficulty in sometimes understanding the Scriptures & how they all fit together. These were the words given to Israel, often words of warning & impending suffering & judgement, but also words of hope & consolation if they should repent of their wickedness & unfaithfulness and they turn their hearts back to the LORD. When we partition this Book of Ezekiel (as also with other Bible books), we can see the picture more clearly & this will help us understand the times, the people, the judgements, & the promises.
The chapter you were reading (chap 19), is just a small section of Ezekiel's prophecies against Judah & Jerusalem (actually from chapter 4 to chapter 24), & it is understood that Ezekiel gave these prophetical warnings (in these chapters) prior to the fall of Jerusalem, reminding his fellow captives (even as Ezekiel was one of them) that God's Judgement on the city & Temple was certain.
When you get to chapters 25 to 32, Ezekiel prophesies against the Gentile nations, that God's Judgement was also coming upon them; but there was still hope for Israel (chapters 33 to 38) & of course this newly revived Israel's role in the coming Millennial Kingdom of their Messiah (chapters 40 to 48). This is just a very brief outline to help you divide the Book & see to whom God is speaking to and of God's Promise that God will "save my flock...will set up one shepherd over them...even my servant David...And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it" ( Ezekiel 34:22-24; referring to their coming Messiah Jesus, son of David (a term that some Jews knew of the Messiah referred to in the Old Testament, Matthew 21:15 & others).
So, when you write, "...it says that we are looking at it is happening today", I'm unsure what you are supposed to be reading in that chapter or the book that indicates this - maybe the problem lies here in that message.
David, I didn't give you my definition of Church. I gave you the Strongs definition of Church.
ekklsia
Pronunciation: ek-klay-see'-ah
Definition: From a compound of G1537 and a derivative of G2564; a calling out that is (concretely) a popular meeting especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): - assembly church.
Christ said upon this rock he will build "HIS" Church. It's His calling out or Gathering, It's not by Church membership. It's the Holyspirit the puts the true believers in the body of Christ, "By faith.
We will have to agree to disagree on the Church issue.
David, Concerning the rock.
You said.
The "rock" is Christ Himself. It is not what I describe.
Yes, the rock is Christ! Thats exactly what I described!
David Israel stumbled at that rock, this was not Christ church in the wilderness.
Isaiah 8:14. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Acts 4:10-11. Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

Davtid you have said over and over again
"There is one and only one Judgment and Salvation Program for Mankind throughout time. And that Program, the Gospel, is circumscribed by the Bible Alone and in its Entirety.
Who's debating that?
I agree and been saying that exclusively since I have been on this site!
However, I don't even recall THAT being a part of this conversation!
23Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.
24But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,
25And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
Further insight. As Ephesians 1:6 states we are to be made acceptable in the beloved. As far as us "accepting" Christ; that is not Biblical as James 2:19 warns about God. Christ is more than Savior; He is Lord and Master; whether we acknowledge it or not there are only two alternatives ( Matthew 21:44). His Sheep hear His voice; the goats do not. ( John 10:27).
This "committing" of men it would seem would involve the Godhead living within someone and being sealed with the Spirit. It would involve chastising which Hebrews 12:8 in King James brings out pretty strongly in regard to those not in Christ who are "bastards."
Therefore Jesus had to do constant "weeding" out; and this would involve challenging statements; parables; and other means.
Jesus in Luke 16:15 warned that what was esteemed or honorable among men was an abomination to God. That is different than what Jesus Himself did when He was praised in Luke 2:52 for His growth in wisdom and stature in terms of how He "gained favor" at that time. That shows His humility in the 30 or so years; taking up the majority of His earthly life being submissive to His parents (unlike the Pharisees who found ways through their religious piety to disrespect parents for the sake of their own material gain).
Jesus loved His own so much that He made sure that He was the atoning sacrifice on the cross through His own volition; and death could not hold Him. (see John 10:18). It was a miracle in itself that He survived all the attempts on His life (including Gethsemene) through supernatural assistance so that He could make it to the cross to die at the set time and place. No one in scripture is said to be amazed at these acts
Think about the evidence Christ presented that He was indeed the Messiah. Indeed; supernatural blindness HAD to be given; for Jesus even told people to believe Him even for the sake of His works ( John 14:11). And the verse was indicative of His being part of the Godhead. There were HUGE numbers of people being miraculously fed at least twice; people healed of blindness which had NEVER occurred even with the Old Testament miracles ( John 10:21); people who had demons cast out of them; as well as the miracles entrusted to the 12 Apostles and the 70 sent out two by two ( Luke 10:11). There was the undeniable proof of natural phenomenon at the crucifixion ( Matt. 27:54); as well as the 500 witnesses that saw Him; including the Apostles AFTER He was Resurrected and they all died except for John as martyrs; clearly they knew and believed the truth since denial would have saved their lives.
Unbelief therefore is something learned. Children are all born into sin; but scripture makes it clear that they have angels beholding the Father continually and that they were drawn to Christ (see Matt. 18:10). Children came to Christ ( Mark 10:13-16) and praised Him as a fulfillment of Psalm 8:2 and mentioned by the Lord in Matthew 21:16. To deny the obvious requires a hardness of heart and soul; and deliberate rejection of known truths; which of course made the condemnation of the Pharisees greater than most; and was much of the reason Jesus excoriated them in nearly the entirety of Matthew 23. They knew the prophecies but were blinded because of their obsession on the law and all other traditions that were added to put men in bondage and to render mercy and justice meaningless ( Matthew 23:23) with their myopic tunnel vision. The rest of the world if NOT enlightened by the Spirit only looked at Christ as some great miracle worker but didn't worship Him as God in the flesh.
Hence Matthew 16:17 must occur for true salvation.
Thanks for your timeline and I appreciate how you and I can present our view and keep it peacefully and yet have entirely different views.
I also have the start of Jesus ministry around the same time based off John 4:17-21.
I don't agree with Jesus being anointed by the Holy Spirit at his baptism.
Nowhere in Scripture do we find Him being the recipient of the baptism with the Holy Spirit. On the contrary, Jesus is the one who baptizes others with the Holy Spirit. John 1:33.
Jesus baptism was symbolic of His entrance into His public ministry into the OT priesthood TO FULFILL ALL RIGHTEOUSNESS.
At about thirty years of age, He was ceremonially washed with water and then set apart for that ministry. This set Him apart to do the work for which He had been called to do.
This is the same way the Old Testament priests began their service. They had to be at least thirty years of age, they were ceremonially washed with water and then they were anointed with oil on their head.
Messiah means "anointed one". The promised deliverer of the Jewish nation.
John identified him as the Messiah, but he didn't make him the Messiah.
Jesus was the Messiah at birth.
Luke 2:10-11.
Luke 2:34-38.
Matthew 1:20-21.
Ronald you authenicate your view of the begining of the 70th wee started because Andrew told Simon they have found the Messiah, and Philip told Nathanael and the demons knew who he was and so on.
But many knew who he was at birth and as a child!
Here is just one example Matthew 2:1.
The key is when did Jesus present his self as king? Not only that he arranged it.
Matthew 21:2.
Any other time they tried to make them king he wouldn't allow it.
Joshua 1:9

Blessings.
Psalms 103:2

Page 3 - Romans 2 and Spiritual Israel
God Bless
1 John 3:2
See part 2
Ray, in Christ Jesus 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The gospel of grace has no payroll, it's free.
Wednesday, Matthew 26:6-16 Mark 14:3-11 Luke 22:1-6 This was the 13th, and at sunset is Passover day the 14th.
God bless,

God bless
God bless you
The chapter you were reading (chap 19), is just a small section of Ezekiel's prophecies against Judah & Jerusalem (actually from chapter 4 to chapter 24), & it is understood that Ezekiel gave these prophetical warnings (in these chapters) prior to the fall of Jerusalem, reminding his fellow captives (even as Ezekiel was one of them) that God's Judgement on the city & Temple was certain.

Study these verses also.

At least not from me.

John 6:15.
Let's revisit Daniel 9.
