A sower is one who sows seed, if you read many of our Lord's parables he uses agricultural terms to describe spiritual truths. Strong's Concordance; G4687; "to scatter, i.e. sow (literally or figuratively):--sow(- er), receive seed." The term sower can be thought of as a farmer or worker in a field that throws out seed. Later Christ explains who the sower is, "37. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;" The Son of man being Christ himself.

A parable is story that is used with a truth in mind The merchant represents a man who is seeking truth, the pearl represents the truth which is Gods word and we know that Jesus is the Word. When he finds this truth pearl he gives everything that's important to him for this truth. The good seed is Christians. The tares are the unsaved. God said let them grow together until the harvest. which is the end of the world. Then He will divide the good from the bad. The good He will bring into His barn . But the bad he will burn.
