Absolutely.
From verses 1-35 it appears he's talking to both the disciples and the multitude. verses 36-52 he's talking to the disciples. And verses 53-58 he's speaking to those in his own country. I'm not sure if his disciples was with him there.
I hope this helps.
God bless.
Which versus is he talking to the multitude?
Thank you
Hellfire is something that takes place at the end of this world, and not at death. John 5:28,29; Matthew 13:40. In it, soul and body are completely destroyed. Matthew 10:28; 2 Thess 1:9. It will consume the wicked into ashes. Revelation 20:9; Malachi 4:1-3; Psalm 37:20. Even the devil will be consumed to ashes. Ezekiel 28:18,19; Isaiah 47:14.
In the new earth, when all sin has been eradicated, there will be no more suffering or pain or death. Revelation 21:4.
Amen to that! Jesus was teaching His disciples about humility. History tells us that household slaves did the job of foot washing, but not a Hebrew or Jewish person. Even if a Hebrew or Jewish person was a slave, they did not lower themselves to wash someone's feet.
Now can you imagine Jesus getting ready to wash the disciples' feet, and that it was a shame and an embarrassment for a Hebrew slave to do that task? It had to be somebody else other than a Hebrew slave that would wash the guests' feet.
So now here's Jesus approaching Simon Peter in Matthew 13:6, and He's getting ready to wash Peter's feet. And Peter wasn't having anything to do with it. In Peter's mind, he's probably thinking that Jesus, being a Jew, he cannot wash anyone's feet. That's the job of a slave, a servant. Peter says in verse 8 "You shall never wash my feet."
Peter is not trying to be rebellious. He is trying to be courteous in the sense that first of all, no Jew should be washing anyone's feet! But Jesus Himself, the Master, the Rabbi is doing it? Peter says "You are never going to wash my feet." Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me.
So Jesus is teaching humility. Jesus is taking the "low-road" in the form of a servant. And as you say, Jesus is setting the example on how they will need to love and serve each other when He's gone. Jesus says in John 13:15, "For I have given you an (example), that ye should do as I have done to you.
What I notice is that Jesus did not say that you should do "what I have done" to you, but you should do "as I have done" to you. He is saying that I took the position and function, the menial task, the lowest task that even a Jewish or Hebrew person would not even do, even if they were a slave, and this is what you are to do for one another. Humility!
Our brothers and sisters in Christ must come first, even before ourselves. That's what it's all about!
Maybe we could also use the parable in Matthew 13:24-30, which doesn't speak of the Gospel preached but of the end result of those who were of the good seed of God & of the evil seed of the enemy - one is saved, the other burned. I couldn't envisage that parable being amended at verse 30 to read, 'gather the tares & wheat into My barn as they are both My creation, therefore I will change the tares to become My wheat'. Sorry for this absurdity, but to demonstrate a point.
You wrote, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature". Using (your) parable, the Gospel must go out so that all who come will get the same wages of eternal life & a kingdom. True, but what about those who don't come (as maybe those who refused the 'goodman's' offer)? You would say, that even those will 'receive a penny'. If Christ taught that, I might have reason to believe what you say, rather the wicked men & the tares of the field will not inherit life but certain judgement. The Gospel is preached to save men from Hell & have a new life in Christ their Saviour. If you take Hell out of the Gospel, you don't have the Gospel of Christ & of no compulsion to proclaim it.
Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
Matthew 13:34 And these things spake Jesus unto the multitudes in parables, and without a parable spake he not unto them.
Matthew 13:35 That it might BE FULFILLED which was spoken by the prophets, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things (in parables) which have been keep secret from the foundations of the world.
The disciples walked every day with Christ for three and a half years and never understood a word Jesus said.
Mark 4:13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will you know all parables?
Luke 8:10 And he said, unto you IT IS GIVEN to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others (it IS NOT GIVEN) in parables; that seeing they MAY NOT SEE, and hearing they MIGHT NOT understand.
First we must read over verses 24 to 32 to get the flavor for lack of better terms.
Your see the parable with the tares, and also the birds of the air, These are not positive parables and neither is verse 33.
Matthew 13:24-32.
Now we come to verse 33.
Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. The Lord has a Jewish audience and they would understand that 3 measures of meal is a fellowship offering established back in Genesis 18:6.
Leaven is always spoken of as evil in and all throughout scripture and is never to be put into the meal offerings all but one occasion, Feast of Pentecost. ( Shavuot ). Leviticus 23:16-17. Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD.
Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. These parables parallel with Leviticus 23:16-17. Leaven speaks of corruption. Leviticus 23:16-17. prophesies what's to become of the Church as we see it today. If verse 13 was anything good it would be out of context with the other parables.
God bless.
Matthew 13:33 Another parable spake he to them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leaven.
If there's no hidden meanings in God's word, tell me what this means.
The disciples nor anyone else understood Christ words, because they have to be spiritually discerned, the TRUTH is HIDDEN.
I would like to expand the truths of your comments a little farther.
Revelation is two judgements, the first being the saints of God, as you said ( 1 Peter 4:17).
The gospel of Christ hasn't YET been preached to the WHOLE WORLD (from ADAM to CHRIST they had already died). This will happen after the first judgement of the saints, which is happening in the TIME of their suffering in the FLESH. When all the saints have been gathered, THEN, the second resurrection, at which time the saints with Christ, will declare (judge) the gospel to the WHOLE WORLD ( Revelation 10:11).
Judgement is not PUNISHMENT, as most believe, but is coming to TRUTH, by the words and works of God. In this AGE, ONLY, to those CHOSEN (to be saints and judges, GIVEN eyes to see and ears to hear. Everyone in God's APPOINTED TIME.
The whole world has been RECONCILED to God, through JESUS CHRIST; they just don't KNOW YET ( Colossians 1:20).
Matthew 13:11 He answer and said unto them, Because it is GIVEN unto you (the saints) TO KNOW, but unto them (those not called to the first resurrection) it is NOT GIVEN.
Christ creating HIMSELF in HIS SAINTS, how else can you JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY, unless you have HIS MIND.
God always CHOOSES MEN, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Samson, Gideon, Joshua, the twelve, Paul, etc., etc. In THIS AGE, first death (to Christ, to his Word), first resurrection (his and the saints resurrection), first judgement (into TRUTH, THE LIFE, THE WAY) he is choosing ONLY THE SAINTS.
All others will be resurrected back in their FLESH and be JUDGED in CHRIST (HIS WORDS) by THE SAINTS and CHRIST and brought to the TRUTH that God HAS RECONCILED the world to himself through his Son Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:28 When ALL THINGS shall be subdued to him, then shall the Son himself be subject to him who put all things under him, that GOD may be ALL IN ALL.
You don't CHOSE me, I CHOSE YOU.
The Hebrew Bible (or Old Testament) uses the word Sheol to describe the realm of the dead. Sometimes described as a pit and imagined to be a literal place under the earth, Sheol is where the dead - all of them, good and bad - go when they die.
Is hell for all eternity? The Christian Bible clearly states that hell is eternal punishment. There are several other phrases that the Bible uses to describe this place of eternal torture including darkness, weeping, torment, anguish, and most importantly, eternal separation from God.
I have a testimony of just before I took the Lords hand to save me: He let me see hell. Isaiah 14
It was twisted roots, so dense you can't move. I heard screams, or it might've been me screaming. I grabbed the Lords hand and the vision stopped.
That scripture in Isaiah says the same thing but it's talking about Satan. Don't go there. The most wonderful, exciting thing can happen instead. You get to meet Jesus if you choose him. He prays for all Saints (that's you), every day. If you Hillary for help, he's right there.
There's a link out on the red page with a prayer on it. You can pray to the Lord yourself.
Come back to this room and ask us anything you need to know quick ok? I have the best sense of humor. God saw what he was getting when he chose me :D
Mark 8:37
But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
Matthew 13:16
Then Peter said into them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 6:38
And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Matthew 3:17
And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
Genesis 17:11
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing the word of God.
Romans 10:17
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Colossians 2:11-12
Know ye not, that so many of us were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Romans 6:3
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the likeness of his resurrection:
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
Romans 6:4-8

To Say everything closed at the end of the apostolic age would mean that salvation is also closed
Your statement has is not in harmony
Number 23:19 19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Revelation 20:12-15 is an interesting set of verses and its meaning/knowledge depends on the interpretation of the keywords of:
1. Verse 12. "The DEAD, small and great" - I see this as meaning those that are non-believers only because the believers, other than those saved during the millennium, are already in heaven at the gathering of the church by Christ.
2. Verse 13. "The sea" - These words are used in the following two verses to indicate the lost mass of humanity:
Matthew 13:47-50.
Matthew 4:18-20.
3. Revelation 20:5. "The rest of the dead lived not again" - clearly a reference to the non-believers as the remaining dead would have to be those not gathered by Christ in the clouds. These dead are dead throughout the millennium.
Again, thank you for your response and the verses provided.
Knowing ( Matthew 13:11) God (God is TRUTH) is all that matters.
God is LIFE, we are the vessel (pot) that HOLDS that LIFE.
YOU (sinful flesh) DIED on the CROSS, with CHRIST, YOU (the new creation of CHRIST's resurrection) will never DIE AGAIN ( Luke 22:35-36).
The vessel (our body of flesh will return to dust, at the harvesting of the new (SPIRIT) man), the new man (CHRIST IN YOU) will BECOME ONE (be married) to CHRIST.
Ephesians 4:4 There is ONE BODY (CHRIST), and ONE SPIRIT (the FATHER) ( John 17:21).
What CHRIST has always been, the SON of GOD, you will be.
Seek you first the Kingdom of God (created by the birth of truth and life) and all these things (comforts of life) will be added to you ( 1 Corinthians 4:7).
Proverbs 25:2
Proverbs 2:4
Matthew 13:11
His word ALSO declares to us what we will BE DOING after we depart this body of flesh.
Psalms 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepth, BEARING PRECIOUS SEED (written and living, Matthew 13:37, Luke 8:11) shall doubtless COME AGAIN (as SEED) with rejoicing, bring his SHEAVES (the harvest) with him.
Matthew 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables, and without a PARABLE SPAKE HE NOT unto them:
All the bible is the WORDS OF JESUS; according to Jesus all the Bible is a PARABLE.
Jesus walked three and a half years with his disciples, and they never understood a word he said, until he took them aside and explained it to them.
We TODAY can't understand the words, until the HOLY SPIRIT takes us aside and explains the meaning to us.
You are BORN AGAIN by the word (truth) of God.
Can two walk together (in the word) and not be AGREED.
35 ... Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to HARVEST.
36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto LIFE ETERNAL: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.
37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth (JESUS), and another reapeth..(the reapers)
Matthew 13:v.37-43
He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 The field is the WORLD (the Devil's world); the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the Devil.
39 The enemy that sowed them is the Devil(the Devil and his messengers); the Harvest is the END of the WORLD(this event will happen, will fulfil LITERALLY, in the current time); and the reapers are the angels(messengers).
40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in this END of this world.
41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels(messengers), and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a Furnace of Fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Then - only then- shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
In Christ JESUS, KING of kings (kings made by Him) and LORD of lords
The Marriage Supper of the Lamb will occur when Christ returns to physically marry His betrothed Bride, which is the church ( Matt. 22:1-14; Rev. 19:7-8). It is called a supper because the Light of Christ will eat, or devour all spiritual darkness on earth, and because the fowl will eat the flesh of all men, small and great ( Rev. 19:17-18). The fowl which fly in the midst of heaven represent the angels God will dispatch to execute His judgment upon the ungodly.
Concerning 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 and the rapture, Christ does mention "the one being taken and another left" during eschatological events associated with the Second Coming ( Matt. 24:40-41). However, His words should be examined in light of Matthew 13:24-30 and 24:31 in which Christ speaks of angels taking or gathering people to a specific location. Scripture speaks of a hiding place ( Zech. 14:4-5), or a bunker of sorts (Is. 26:20-21) where the elect will go or will be taken, which Christ calls His barn ( Matt. 13:30). The concept of a mass catching away and the disappearance of believers all over the world is a concept of Christian fiction which became popular in the mid-to-late 1990s. The earliest evidence of the concept being introduced into mainstream Christendom began with John Darby in 1827, whose teachings influenced Cyrus Scofield, publisher of the Scofield Bible.
May God bless you.

In American Churchianity, which has spread all over the globe, there is a teaching out there called the rapture. Much energy goes into debating when this event is suppose to happen and those who oppose the main stream idea tend to be bashed. However I'd encourage you all to think about what Jesus said would happen at the end of this age. In Matthew 13: 24-30, Jesus rather clearly says both the weeds and the good wheat shall remain together until harvest time, then the weeds shall be bound, and after the binding the good wheat is gathered into the barn.
I believe the rapture is for the end of the next age. And for this age, it is time for the church to focus on coming to fruition so that it is harvest time.
Man WANT BELIEVE what GOD says UNTIL God causes them to BELIEVE. ALL is of God.
There is nowhere in scripture that says if a name is there it's not a parable.
There is more than one scripture that says that Christ spake not to the people BUT IN PARABLES.
Matthew 13:34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitudes in parables; and WITHOUT a parable SPAKE HE NOT unto him.
Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, unto you it is GIVEN to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, it is not GIVEN.
You said not everyone will choose to be saved.
The fact is no one chooses to be saved.
God SAYS I CHOOSE YOU , you don't choose me.
If I be lifted up I WILL DRAW ALL MEN to me.
Man thinks he is a co-partner in his salvation, when in fact every part of man's salvation IS OF GOD.
Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and Holy place, with him ALSO that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the spirit of the contrite ones.
Thanks be to Christ for HIS WORKS!
You state: the God you envision..and go on to say that God will forgive everyone even the bad ones, and that the gate to heaven is a Big as the complete works of the human race.
There is no scripture in the bible that backs what you say. You can envision anything - it doesn't mean it's true.
Please read the following bible verses spoken by Jesus. These verses are TRUE, as Jesus speaks the words of God!
Matthew 4:17
"From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Luke 5:32
"I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."
Luke 13:3
"I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."
As Christians we can believe in Jesus and God, but if we don't REPENT FROM SIN.we will PERISH!
Believe these words from God.
Matthew 13:41
"The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;"
Matthew 13:42
"And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth."
It's not what WE ENVISION it is what Jesus says.he speaks the WORDS of GOD!
God Bless
