When reading the gospels, one must remember to rightly divide the bible into periods of time, and knowing the group of people the book, chapter and verse(s) are directed to. This chapter as is Matthew 24, and Luke 21 are mostly prophetic for the Jews in the future, after rapture of church age Christians only. Jesus is talking about what the spiritual and earthly conditions will be like just before the 2nd advent. Some of these prophecies have already began and will increase as we get closer to the 2nd advent. The key verse to understand is verse 14, which directly speaking of the anti-Christ that will break the peace covenant ( Daniel 9:27) with the nation of Israel that was signed about 31/2 years earlier. Then the anti-Christ which came in bringing peace ( Daniel 11:24) will begin to slay the Jews by the millions (about 14 millions) more than twice as many as Hitler did. And they are given here a warning to start fleeing Israel to Selah Petra (present day Jordan) south of the dead sea to escape the slaughter that is going on and where God will divinely provide for them until Christ’s return. The great tribulation time will begin in verse 14, which is what you can read about in Revelation 4:1 (rapture of the Christians) to Revelation 19:11-16 (the 2nd advent).

Does this verse mean the second coming won't happen in the winter or on the Sabbath day?

I will see if I can shed some light on the parable of the vineyard (verses 1 to 16).
1. All parables have dual applications (doctrinal and spiritual);
2. The man is Jesus;
3. Householder is owner of property;
4. Early in morning is first thing;
5. Laborers are the 12 disciples;
6. Vineyard is mission field (world);
7. Penny is the compensation for accepting your new position (child of God) in the mission field (world);
8. Hours is daytime hours ( John 11:9);
9. Watch is nighttime hours ( Mark 13:34-37);
10. In Jewish times, third hours is 09 am, six hours is noon, 11th hour is 5 pm, 6 pm begins the new day on Jewish clock. Remember God used Jews to write the bible.
From early morning to the 11th hour encompasses the church age (approximately 2000 years). When a person receives Jesus as saviour and becomes a child of God regardless if they converted in the 1st century or just before the rapture. All saints in Christ receive equal justification, holy spirit, inheritance, and opportunity for rewards; all under grace and mercy by Jesus Christ. There are certain promises God is giving out equally to all saints of God, regardless how long a person has been saved and what time in church history they lived.

This chapter has made me understand how Jesus wants his children to be aware of his coming and not to give up but should be prepared in mind heart and in spirit, otherwise, that day will come surprisingly. Also I understand that because He was on earth He was flesh like humans and everything He did is what the Father (Spirit) told him to do and since the father did not tell or mention to him about the time of He, the son is coming for judgment, He too obediently did not want and could not say anything because He was flesh at that time, instead of all the three being of the Father to be God the Father God the son and God the Holy spirit. Hence it does not mean Jesus being the God says he doesn't know the time He is coming for the elect children. But just be aware that He is coming very soon as promise and all the signs are already happening. So why won't he come.

It is time to get the full meaning of Bible prophecies.... Daniel 2:44, 1 Peter 3:13, Mark 13:10, etc…

Bebopp. Surely your words are of none else but of someone who never believed in or even understood the faith contained in the bible. I never liked the church much myself either. But if you read the bible where is the churched ever mentioned as an institution of gods law? Where does it say that you should act like or listen to priests? The bible surely is of god but the church surely is not. Some churches might be lead by men and women of faith, some congregations surely have faithful men and women in them. But some or even many might not have a true faithful soul in them. Just cause you go to church doesn't make you free from sin. Anyone who sins knows this. But true faith leads away from sin. Read 1john2 1john2 and 1john3 and understand the message. Understand that truth and gods command only can be found in your own heart. You shouldn't listen to the world, but to your heart, your soul, the spirit god has given you. Your heart knows whats right, so feel it. And only people that are of strong will and righteous character can be people of real faith. Read the following verses. Matthew 24:5, Matthew 7:22-23. Luke 21:8 Mark 13:6. Who do you think they speak of? What does your heart tell you in this matter? So follow your heart in truth and righteousness.

Grant who is your God then if not Jesus as you relied on Mark 13:32?

In Luke 24:45-49 Jesus reminded his disciples of what is written of him concerning his suffering, death and ressurection; that repentance and remission of sins would be preached in his name beginning from Jerusalem. They were to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Ghost to come upon them in order to witness the word ( Acts 1:7-8). Before his crucifiction Jesus had told his disciples that it was not them that would speak but the Holy Ghost ( Mark 13:11). They were to preach the the Gospel with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven ( 1 Peter 1:12). On the day of pentecost they heard the infallible Holy Ghost speak through the mouth of Peter ( Acts 2:33). In Acts 10:44 it says to him give all prophets witness that through his name whosover believers shall receive remission of sins. On this day of pentecost, after death burial, ressurection and ascension of Jesus, the Holy Ghost witnessed, beginning from Jerusalem, commanding the people to repent and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins and they would receive the gift of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 2:38). God is His own interprater, interpreting the Name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost; for he says in Zechariah 14:9 : And the Lord shall be King over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord and his name one. Thomas called him My Lord and my God ( John 20:28). On this day of Pentecost the Holy Ghost bore witness of His Holy child whom He annointed( Mathew 1:18, Acts 4: 27). Who can add or subtract from what God had began? What He began in the day of pentectost and Jerusalem restores in the Last days: Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ for remission of Sin. The Holy Ghost Church will stay with the command of the Holy Ghost for they know the Apostles were sent the Holy Ghost (13:4) and spake these words at His command.

In Mathew 1:1 Jesus Christ is son of David, son of Abraham. He was made seed of David according to the flesh ( Romans 1:4). He, as seed of Abraham was promised to possess the gates of his enemies. In Abraham's seed all the nations of the earth be blessed ( Genesis 22:17-18). In Mathew 1:18) He is Child of the Holy Ghost. He came down from heaven ( John 3: 13). This Child of the Holy Ghost was the word made flesh, the only begotten of the Father ( John 1:14). The Holy Ghost is the Father. The Holy Ghost and the Father are the self same person. God is a Spirit ( John 4:24) and you must be born of water the Spirit to see the kingdom of God ( John 3:5). God is the Father and He is the Holy Ghost. God was manifest in the flesh ( 1Timothy 3:16) For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham ( Hebrews 1:16). God was manifested in the flesh make atonement for sin and to purchase His church by His own blood ( Acts 20: 28). The Shekinah glory that was in that once filled the temple in Jerusalem took a body of flesh. He became God's Choosen Place of Worship, God's Temple that He choose to put His name, the perfect realisation ofthe old testament temple (Deutromy12:5-11). Jesus was God's temple and the Church is the temple of his body ( John 2:19; Ephesians 5:30; 2:21- 22). The church of Christ, the bride is the mouthpiece of the Holy Ghost for the commission was its not ye that speak but the Holy Ghost ( Mark 13:11) and again what Holy Ghost speaks the true church speaks the same ( Revelation 22:17), for He that is Joined unto the Lord is one Spirit ( 1Corinthians 6:16). Now the Spirit of the Lord that was on Jesus is in His church even as He promised: as for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD, My spirit that is upon thee and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out the mouth of thy Seed's seed, from henceforth and forever( Isaiah 59:21). The witness of the Apostles and prophets in the Bible is the witness of the Holy Ghost, for they were sent by the Holy Ghost ( Acts 13:4) and they preached by the Holy Ghost ( Galatians 1 :11-12). For the church to receive the blessing of Abraham the must stay exacty with the original gospel as Spoken by the Holy Ghost through His apotles

Jacques, It was correct to quote John 1:1. But I noticed you left out verse 18 in that same chapter. Thousands of people SAW Jesus. But my bible says no man has seen God at ANY time. So how can he be God? Also, at Mark 13:32 Jesus by his own addmission says he doen't know everything. How can he be God? Your God's knowedge is limited. My God knows everything.

William chabot`s I think you should really read verse 18 and think about it. If the elect the Ones that stood with God and He loves them and are going to put on the gospel armour on and will stand and are going to fight the head of the dragon up till Christ return at the end of the harvest why would you want to think to fly in the winter? Read Zechariah 5 and Ezekiel 13 both are latter days spoken of and don't believe foolishness.don't listen to pretenders who are told of in Jeremaiah 23 and 24. God tells us of these preachers speaking and making up stuff to get money. These rapture ministers don't care who they sent to the pit as long as their pockets are full. Be wiser than the serpent. Harper pamplets are good to read. AntiChrist is the first church old Testament teachings and are based on 7 years but if you know Gods word you can read the good parts and come out a head.

Scripture says God is OUR Father. Reading scripture you will see only through Christ we will be excepted. God hates His enemies. Jesus is our Lawyer. The only way you can get to heaven to live with God is through Christ. God loves His Elect. I believe Lord Jesus is telling us quite plainly here in verse 29-31 that after the tribulation we shall see the sign of His long awaited return.As confirmed in Luke 21:25-27 and Mark 13:24-27. I am preparing and expecting according to these verses to have to endure the Tribulation.

Mark 13:28, see Jeremiah 24. It's unfortunate that it would seem this is overlooked, considering it's a direct order from Chist to learn this parable. And concerning the comments prior to this one, "2 in the field, one is taken and the other stays working, blessed is he who stays working in the field" to those who are waiting on a rapture I bid you to dig a little deeper, for that is satan's message when he comes as anti-christ. Ezekiel 13:18 describes how "you have sewn kerchiefs over ever digit of my outstreched saving arms" and "I am against those who teach my childrn to fly to save their souls" of course I'm paraphrasing but check out the manuscripts, you may find it interesting especially when you compare them to so-called "new translations"

Mark 13:28 Christ tells us "Learn the parable of the fig tree" letting us know that it is imperative that those who follow Him learn this scripture. This let's us know we are in the last generation RIGHT NOW, because Judah had not been in Jerusalem since before Christ was born, until 1948 when they were aloud to return after WWII. To rephrase for better understanding, this parable let's us know that the end wouldn't come until Judah returned to Jerusalem. Judah was taken captive by the babylonians hundreds of years before Christ was on the earth, and had not returned until May 15, 1948, signifying the beginning of th last generation, or "the generation of the fig tree"

By now may 21 has come and gone and those who thought this date was the rapture will be disappointed. But don't be upset, Jesus is coming. The bible does tell us that no one knows only the father however he does gives us the signs in the natural world of earthquakes, famines, wars etc. Watch for the mark of the beast which is Sunday law. Gods true sabbath is the seventh day, Saturday. Look it up, the Vatican admit that they changed the day and all the Protestant world followed. I test you to google this. What is the significance of the 1,290 and 1,335 days mentioned in Daniel 12:11-12?

In Daniel 12:9-10 we are told, “And he [Michael] said, Go your way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”

The prophecies God had Daniel record for us were to be sealed until the end of this age—or at “the time of the end.” We are now very close to the time when these events will take place. Both the 1,290 and 1,335-day periods end with the Return of Christ. The beginnings of these periods mark significant events for those living at this time.

Daniel 12:12 states, “Blessed is he that waits, and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” At the 1335-day mark, which is 45 days before the abomination of desolation, the organized efforts of God’s Work here on earth will almost certainly come to an end. Only those people of God who are doing that Work today—and holding fast ( Rev. 3:11) to the full truth—will be protected.

Notice what Daniel 12:11 states: “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” Although the daily sacrifices were put to an end in A.D. 70, and have not been in place since, this verse indicates that they will be reinstated and then stopped again in the near future.

Forty-five days later, at the 1,290 days, marks the time when the abomination of desolation is set up. At this signal, the Church will begin its flight to the place of protection ( Matt. 24:15-20). Thirty days later, the Great Tribulation begins ( Rev. 12:14). Jesus speaks of this time in Matthew 24:21-22 and Mark 13:19-20. This period of “Jacob’s trouble” ( Jer. 30:7; Dan. 12:1) will span 3½ years—“a time, times, and an half”—or 1,260 days ( Dan. 12:7; Rev. 12:14).

The 1,290 days and the 1,335 days of Daniel 12:11-12 point to events preceding the tribulation. The Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord (which occurs during the final year of the tribulation) complete the remaining 1,260 days prior to the Return of Christ. Restored Church Of God

1. Where in the Bible does it say May 21st, 2011 is the end of the world?

2. How can someone claim to know the specific day when the Bible itself says ‘no man knows’ the day it will come? Are you saying the Bible is then incorrect, because you claim to know, or is it more likely that you actually don’t know the date? (many people in the past have made predictions of the end of the world and they are all wrong)
