The term God is a title not a name. As such can and does apply to the Father( 2 Peter 1:17),The Son ( John 5:16-18,23;Philip 2:6 "who being [Grk. remaining] in the form of God"; Heb. 1:8,10; Ps.102:25; Jn.20:28; 1Jn. 5:20; Exod. 3:14; Jn. 8:24. 58; Is. 44:6; Rev. 1:17-18; 2:8; Is. 6:1-10; Jn. 12:39-41), and of the Holy Spirit ( Acts 5:3-4; 2 Cor. 3:17) Also the word "serve" in Dan. 7:14 is only used 10 times in the bible, each referring to religious service or worship of Jesus.

  • Toni on 1 John 5:7 - 12 years ago
We are saved by believing that Jesus is the Son of the living God. Jesus is not God. He is His Son. Jesus is the word of God manifested in the flesh to bring salvation to them that believe on His name and call upon Him.
Jesus says in John 5:37-40 "And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."
Don't let the word become a stumblingblock. In that day many are going to come before Jesus and say didn't we testify in your name and cast out devils and Jesus is going to say "depart from me all ye workers of iniquity. I never knew ye." The only people Jesus is going to accept are the ones who had the faith to trust and believe that He is the Son of the living God.

40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

David was a great man, his love of the Lord is unmatched,a man after God's own heart, yet he made many mistakes and sins, but The Lord who could love him and use him because David truly asked for forgiveness, verse 7 doesn't tell us what his sins were in his youth, his enemies were more than the hairs of his head, most of his life was lived under Constance trouble and pressure, but God protected him, his whole life, if you take a stand for the Lord, and stay off the beaten path, like David and the Son of David you will learn what Luke 6:22, John 5:41 means, Psalms 25:19 All of God's Love ,forgiveness, and protection is in this great psalm. God Bless

Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.>>> Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.(NOTE:no one is ever justifed by the law now as per Galatians 3:11-13)>>>> Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their OWN righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.Romans10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.>>>Now, Listen to OUR LORD JESUS say it, and believe on the FATHER. Why? He said it's needed.>>> John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Praise him now!! Peace be with you!>> John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

There are is no such thing as God(s). There is only one and his name is Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:7 says there are three that bear record in heaven. The father the word and the holy spirit and these three are one. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with GOD the Word was GOD... That whole description was of Jesus. In the bible no one verse stands alone. There is always other verses that compliment and/or justify the initial verse that is being read. Prime example is the two verses I listed. Another example is John 8:58 Jesus said befor Abraham was I Am. In Exodus 3:14 GOD said to Moses I Am that I Am.

Why get involved in vain disputation that bare no fruit of the spirit. If ye be sons of God behave like it and if you are sons of the devil the same advice is true. In the words of a son of God does the father come to life in the words of the sons of hell arguments ensue. Now if I were just a son I would clearly hear my voice in his but I am the father and only my children recognize my voice. With these few words has judgement been made. Adam brought the fall, Abraham brought the promise, Moses brought the law, Jesus brought salvation to all and Elijah ushers in the kingdom of God where the will of the father is done on earth as it is in heaven.

    @Ock

CHRIST being the HEAD of the CHURCH is the savior of the BODY ( Ephesians 5:23). The CHURCH are those He PURCHASED with His own blood ( Acts 20:28). So WE, being many, are ONE BODY in Christ, and every one members one of another ( Romans 12:5). Regarding the BIBLE which we believed as the BOOK of the compilation of the HOLY SCRIPTURES and the THE LAW OF GOD which was translated out of original tongue it was written, "Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me" ( John 5:39); Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them ( Isaiah 34:16); All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2-Timothy 3:16)

This is my comment on JOHN 5:37-38 saying, "And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not". THEREFORE, if you will not believe what JESUS said, "baptizing them in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY GHOST" ( Matthew 28:19). THEN, "you have not God's word abiding in you". So for you to have God's word abiding in you, you MUST be baptized in the name of the FATHER and of the SON and of the HOLY GHOST and "not" in the name of the SON "alone". We have to follow Our Lord Jesus Christ commandment saying, "OBSERVE ALL THINGS WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU" ( Matthew 28:20). He did not say, PICKUP ONLY ONE OR TWO from what I commanded you.

The angel said,“You are to give Him the name JESUS, because He will save His people from their sins.” Acts 4:12 says,“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. Acts 2:21 says, “Everyone who calls on the NAME of the Lord will be saved.” (Number 2): 1 Corinthians 3:15, If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire. Jesus My Savior

To: Mark Hudson: ...to the FIFTH argument regarding God's ways are not our ways... the EXACT and CORRECT statement which was written is this: "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD" ( Isaiah 55:8)... meaning "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts" ( Isaiah 55:9)... Regarding "MERCY": our God will have MERCY if the WICKED and UNRIGHTEOUS shall RETURN UNTO THE LORD and the way to do that is for the WICKED to FORSAKE HIS WAYS and for the UNRIGHTEOUS MAN TO FORSAKE HIS THOUGHTS ( Isaiah 55:7).
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on John 5 - 12 years ago
To: Mark Hudson: ...to the FOURTH argument regarding the statement of JESUS, he who believes in ME though he die will live, and shall never die... the EXACT and CORRECT statement that was written is this, "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he "WERE DEAD", yet "SHALL HE LIVE": And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die" ( John 11:25-26)... meaning, "For if ye live "AFTER THE FLESH", ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do "MORTIFY THE DEEDS" of the body, ye shall live ( Romans 8:13)... and you shall NOT FULFIL THE LUST of the flesh ( Galatians 5:16)... THEREFORE ...you WERE DEAD because you LIVED AFTER THE FLESH and then when you believed Jesus Christ that's the time when you SHALL NEVER DIE... because from then on you do not walk after the flesh anymore but after the Spirit... and that is when you do mortify the deeds of the body... and to MORTIFY the deeds of the body is to MORTIFY our members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also WALKED SOME TIME, when ye LIVED IN THEM ( Colossians 3:5).
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on John 5 - 12 years ago
To: Mark Hudson: ...to the SECOND argument regarding to the missing the flames of hell... ...whosoever was "not found written in the book of life" was cast into the lake of fire ( Revelation 20:15) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie ( Revelation 21:27) the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars ( Revelation 21:8) and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the "books", according to their "works" ( Revelation 20:12)... ...and this includes THEM WHO "DRAW BACK" UNTO PERDITION (Hebrew 10:36-39) who are called "LOST" ( John 17:12) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them like the dog that turned to his own vomit again (2-Peter 2:21-22) whereunto they desire again to be in bondage ( Galatians 4:9)...THEREFORE...we must NOT BELIEVE the LIARS telling us that we shall not be judged when we TURNED BACK AND WERE LOST after we received the remission of our sins by the grace of God through the blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ...
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on John 5 - 12 years ago
To: Mark Hudson: ...to the FIRST argument it is NOT true that some will be saved BY His Name "alone" (JESUS)... ...Jesus Christ himself said that he who believed the gospel and is baptised shall be SAVED ( Mark 16:15-16) and it is the baptism in the NAME of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost ( Matthew 28:19)... ...therefore to say that we shall be saved by the name (JESUS) "alone" is contrary to what was written in the bible.
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on John 5 - 12 years ago
(This is my response to Mark Hudson's comment dated 9/15/2013 at 3:55pm on John Chapter 5):

The argument you mentioned were... FIRST: some will be saved BY His Name alone (JESUS)... SECOND: those missing the flames of hell... THIRD: Paul wanting to do good, but then he does what he does not want... FOURTH: Jesus statement, he who believes in ME though he die will live, and shall never die... FIFTH: God's ways are not our ways... SIXTH: God's statement, I will have compassion in whom I have compassion on.

Let me answer them one by one.
  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on 1 Thessalonians 1 - 12 years ago
Disciples of God believed that GRACE and PEACE are from GOD OUR FATHER and the LORD JESUS CHRIST(1-Thessalonians 1:1)...NOT from Jesus Christ ONLY...Since the ELECTION OF GOD is by the GOSPEL which the disciples preached ( Mark 16:15-16)and it came to us in WORD, in POWER, in HOLY GHOST (1-Thessalonians 1:4-5)...which we received after BAPTISM in the NAME of the FATHER, and of the SON (WORD - John 1:1,14), and of the HOLY GHOST ( Matthew 28:19-20) and these three are one (1- John 5:7) which is the mystery of godliness (1-Timothy 3:16) in the HOUSE OF THE GOD, the CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD, the PILLAR AND GROUND OF THE TRUTH(1-Timothy 3:15)

There is a lot of talk about God, which is good, don't get me wrong. John 5:19, do you see what Jesus, who knew he had all power but states, and I might add, important for all of us, "The Son can do nothing in himself"... This hit home with me, we have our many problems and struggles, why? You can do nothing in yourself, as the father do, you do... Read John 6:63, one of the best verses I keep reading, discerning? Yes...

Re: In regard to rosalina's and Albert Sholam's comment of John ch: 5. If I may offer I think both are correct. It is said in the Bible but not exactly sure where, that some will be saved by His Name alone (Jesus), and another, those missing the flames of hell just barely, if we see the many intricacies in us, how much more is there in God? Remember, His Grace, and what He Has established will succeed, and He Knows those who are His... My own opinion is that we all still sin, as Paul says in Romans, wanting to do good, but then he does what he does not want, it's realizing the sin, as Paul states, how wretched am I. I think it's a matter of as quickly as possible, seeing, confessing, and returning to the table in conversing and discerning in Him by communication in order that we may remain in Christ. Jesus stated, he who believes in Me though he die will live, and he that (lives), and believes in Me shall never die, John 11: 25-26, I suggest to you if God is Love, and His Ways are not our ways, then it really is His Grace, As God states, I Will have compassion in whom I have compassion on, we can't comprehend that Love, It's Mercy... Take it, recieve it, live it, and as you do, Glorify His Name...

My thought on this scripture is that God is showing us how to interpret patience. In returning and rest " be anxious for nothing but in all things by prayer and supplication let you request be made known unto God ( Philippians 4:6 , trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, but in all thine ways acknowledge him ( Proverbs 3:5-6). These cross reference scriptures support that old testament scripture. other attributes that were carried into the new testament were quietness and confidence , "this is the confidence that we have in him , that , if we ask any thing according to his will , he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask , we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him" 1st John 5:14-15

(This is my response to Albert Mould-Shalom's comment dated 8/12/2013 at 3:47am on John Chapter 5 about verse 25):

I beg to disagree of what you said that, "No matter how deep in SIN one may be; no matter what one may have DONE, whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved". Because the TRUTH is Our Lord Jesus Christ himself shall DENY him as what was written in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that WORK INIQUITY". Understand what was written in 2Peter 2:20-22, "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire".
  • Bro Herbert on Leviticus 17:11 - 12 years ago
Yes is very correct that the life of the "Natural man" is in the blood, because these man is born only of natural efforts. Since ADAM disobeyed GOD and was separated from the life of GOD (Became spiritually dead and started living from the senses which are control by SATAN).

Now the man that is "BORN AGAIN" has inherited the ETERNAL LIFE OF GOD (1 JOHN 5:11-13) by vital reality of the son-ship, which is produced by legal reality of HIS SON JESUS CHRIST taking our place of sin and death that we may take HIS place of LIFE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. Thus; the new man' life is no longer in the blood but in the spirit ( Romans 8:11)...............Thanx and GOD bless
  • Rosalina on Mark 9 - 12 years ago
My respond to Val's Mark Chapter 9 comment on 9/07/2013, 9:45pm: In 2 Corinthians 4:18 it says, "the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal". So when we talk about life in heaven then we mean "life eternal" and when we talk about death in hell then we mean "everlasting punishment". In Matthew 25:46 There are people who will go to life eternal but other people will go to everlasting punishment. Even in Daniel 12:2 it says, some shall awake to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. When we talk about fire where sinners are to be cast into we mean "everlasting fire" as it is written in Matthew 18:8. It is the same fire being mentioned in Jude 1:7 called "eternal fire" where sinners shall suffer. This kind of suffering is "eternal damnation" as it is written in Mark 3:29 and that is none other than "damnation of hell" which is written in Matthew 23:33. They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation as it is written in John 5:29. Therefore this sinners shall be burned "eternally".
