Neglecting our salvation is neglecting Christ himself we must put our eyes on Him spent time with Him letting Him deal with our flesh. Do not neglect His word!!!
Sis. Vernita Jefferson on Hebrews 2:6 - 12 years ago
this to me is one of the most humbling verses in the new testament for me. I will never understand the why but this verse is one that will always compel me to stay in the race!
This scripture reminds me of who I am and who I belong to, and what Christ did for me. I cannot get lost in the things of this world and the lust of my flesh, but I must diligently seek him and put God first in every thing I do.
Verse 18: I have a heartfelt gratitude to the Lord for this. He knows that we will be tried with temptations, yet he is right there beside us and even became as a man and was tempted as one of us. This is so powerful to me.
About verse 9, yes indeed he was a little bit lowered than angels in physical form, only as he was a man (for all the fullness of the God head dwelleth in him). He was the word that became flesh and the word was God) to offer his life for my sins and all mankind’s. Thank you Lord Jesus for saving such a wretched like me.
"But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for suffering death." The whole reason He was made a little lower than the angels was for suffering of death. Only in bodily form, in the likeness of man, complete with a central nervous system and limited by mortality can one suffer, and die.
YAHchanan MoshAH Baruch on Romans 8:11 - 12 years ago
There are so many scriptural references that teach the transformational process of these mortal bodies, like 1 Corinthians 15, Hebrews 2:14-15, 1 John 3:8, 2 Timothy 1:9-10, Hosea 13:14, John 8:51-52, John 11:24-27, 1 Peter 1:22-25 and there are many more that YAHUWAH has revealed to my heart concerning the restoration of all things that teaches we are coming to the fullness of the true teachings of MeoshiYAch that He destroyed the death process in the physical body to grant true immortality in all of your physical body. The message of the gospel was all about immortality to your whole being not just a spiritual aspect, hallow the first and second Adam which are the two keys in the immortal Name of YAHUWAH. The message YAHUWAH is bringing is the fullness of the death, burial, and resurrection of His blessed Son YAHUW-shua which shall be taught into all the world as a witness of the eternal reign of the kingdom of shamaYAim and the end shall truly come, for the last enemy to be put under the feet of MeoshiYAch is death. Therefore the final message or the last trump upon the earth will be the wisdom of the fullness of love and life that is free from all forms of fear in YAHUW-shua who was raised from the dead by the power of the immortal breath of YAHUWAH, hallo RUWach QadUWsh, immortal soul of YAHUWAH breathed forth that was put upon all the true followers of MoeshiYAch known as the YAHUWans or the taught ones of YAHUW-shua the blessed Son of the immortal Creator of all creation. There are much greater revelation insights that RUWach is bringing to us at the Tree of Life that would be to lengthy in this format that have vast scriptural proofs concerning the issue of physical immortality restored through MeoshiYAch that have been omitted in all of the modern day translations that are in the original scrolls of the prophets and the true followers of MeoshiYAch that the RUWach is unveiling to us in our fellowship at the Tree of Life. YAHUWAH is our immortal Father and YAHUW-shua is our blessed Deliverance from all death and is our authority to the Tree of Life.
Jesus became a man, so that he could taste death for every man by the grace of God. We must be careful not to drift away, because there is only one name given unto man where by we must be saved, and that name is Jesus. Jesus learned obedience by the things he suffered, even the death on the cross. He is our perfect, and merciful high priest who intercedes for us in heaven before the Father. We no longer have to fear death, because Jesus destroyed the devil who had the power of death when He rose from the dead the third day. Victory is ours, and one day Jesus will sing our name before his saints in heaven. Thank God for your suffering, for we too will be perfected by the things we suffer for Christ. We are blessed we are free to worship the Lord without fear. Yet persecution is coming, and we too may have to lay down our lives for the Gospel. May the Lord give us the grace when that time comes, and may we say into thy hands I commit my spirit.
Hebrews chapter 2, spells out for us the significance God has placed on our being saved by the blood of the lamb. Given the obedience that Jesus confered to us in doing what he did not have to, knowing the cost and sacrifice that awaited him took on a task that no man could begin to understand; gave His life that we might live and not only live but in the by and by get to see not only He who made us but also the Father.
By reading this Holy writ, it clearly defines the role of the Lamb of God which taketh away the sins of the World. JESUS was a man and He was a Lamb. It Was God or Jehovah manifested n the flesh. God n flesh.
Here is some of the mystery of God 1Tim 3:16 helps you to understand Jesus gave a great commission to the world, In the begining God lead his people out of the wilderness thru his servant Moses. But now in the end of the world he came into the world by the sacrifice of himself Hebrews 9:1-28 talking about himself coming as the second veil (meaning flesh)to put away sin Hebrews 10:5 where he talks about a body he prepaired himself so that he could shed blood for the sins of the world, because the bible says that wiithout the shedding of blood there was no remission for sins Hebrews 2:14,9:7,12-14,18-22. Being the great God that he is, he placed himself in a virgin woman called Mary (womb) to be born as a son in the flesh and as he was born the angel had already spoke to her and said his name shall be called Jesus which is the name above every name( Luke 1:27-35)The Holy Ghost is the spirit of the Lord, so he became flesh ( John 1:1-14). Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and on the day of pentecost Peter answered the question of how to be saved when the people ask (men and brethen what shall we do ?) Please read carefully with an open heart to God's word. Whosoever obey shall be saved (Acts:1 and 2). God's Blessings!!
Galatians 3:16 Now to A'bra-ham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Hebrews 2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of A'bra-ham.
Here, Paul is affirming the human quality of Jesus, though virgin both, accepts his lineage through his father Joseph, as stated in Matthew 3 and lived a life on earth, a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, but given a much elevated station by his merit on earth by God the Father when he proclaimed in the Cloud, thou art my beloved Son, Hear him for my truths come thru him, indeed
I think that HEBREWS tells who JESUS was that he was god in the flash that God spoke in the begining and his word became his beloved son and that he love us so much that he sent his only begotten son to come has his word to do that witch no man could do and that was to give his life that we could have life everylasting bless his name the book of HEBREWS tell's it all..
Dear Dan, The ones that Christ referred to pertaining to the dead 'HEARING' His voice, were those that had died IN FAITH in God's Word, thus promises, pertaining to that which was to come, prior to Christ coming into the world in the form of a man; in the likeness of sinful flesh, to die for the sins of mankind. All those that had died prior to His coming, who HEARD God's Word; words, in the way that means to BELIEVE God's Word; to thus have faith in God's Word, are all those who's souls went down into the midst of the earth, not into Hell, but nevertheless in a particular grave site, where death held them hostage, as they waited for the prophesied; foretold, coming Messiah; Saviour. As, the Lord had promised them, saying:
Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with MY DEAD BODY shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste DEATH FOR EVERY MAN.
Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
2 Corinthians 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
Acs 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Romans 6:9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Peter 3:18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
After Christ came OUT of that fleshly body; the form of a man; the likeness of sinful flesh, He THEN went to the part of the midst of the earth that is Hell, and TOOK AWAY from Satan the KEYS of Hell and Death!
Revelation 1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
THEN He want to another part of the midst of the earth where all those souls that had BELIEVED God; believed the Word of God preached to them, and had thus died in faith, looking forward to the coming Saviour; Redeemer; Messiah, slept; rested, waiting for Him to come. And He took them, who were all held CAPTIVE by death, in the grave, all CAPTIVE UNTO HIMSELF, and AROSE, with them, they with HIM, from the dead:
As prophesied in the Old Testament:
Ezekiel 37:13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
He FULFILLED that prophesy in the New Testament, upon rising from the dead:
Matthew 27:50 Jesus when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
52 And THE GRAVES WERE OPENED; and many bodies of the saints which slept AROSE,
53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.
54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
Ephesians 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led CAPTIVITY captive, and gave gifts unto men.
Since our Saviour; Redeemer; Messiah, is come in the flesh:
John 1: 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath EVERLASTING LIFE, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
I think that this chapter clearly shows us that Jesus was God and man.
But for the love that he had for man kind chose to walk in the first man Adam and be tempted in all manners of temptatios, that he could understand what we would go through, and be able to succour us in our temptations.
This is both infinitely beautiful and infinitely terrifying (take note, Carl Robert Halling): Hebrews 2:3: How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation...
Galatians 3:16 Now to A'bra-ham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
