Fred wanted to know if people who lived immoral lives will still be judged. When we receive Christ as our Savior, we desire to turn from those sins. In Christ we have become a new person. Christ took our judgment at the cross and has washed our sins away never to be remembered again! hallelujah!
Covetousness in this verse I found in the Vines Dictionary means to have a desire for more money. Grasping and pulling to get more and more money. I do the best I can to be content with what God has Blessed me with. I have no lack. My God has and is supplying all my need according to his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus . God 's word says to be content but I am not satisfied To be satisfied is to have all I will ever want and do not want or need anything else. I am content. Jesus is my Lord and I could not ask for anyone better. He is Awesome !!!! I can leave Him but He will never leave me but if I leave Him I have no consciousness of Him being near me because He steps back from me if I leave Him and go my own way. He cannot manifest Himself where sin is !!!!
My wife came home one day and told me of a women see saw on the road by our local Walmart in NJ. She had a sign that read, "just lost my job and i need money for presents for the kids, please help. " I asked her what see did and she said she did nothing. My heart sank. She was afraid of being taken advantage of. So the next day I went to the spot to see if she was there. There was no one there. I have never seen anything like this or heard of anything like this in my 51 years of life. I really do think she missed the boat on this one.
Why does kjv use communicate when other versions use a very different "sharing " which contextually seems to be as in sharing resources. Obviously communicate seems to mean transferring a message . What did the original script convey?
this scripture reminds me to be contented with what I have and hoping from God all the time not putting my heart what I see but what I hope in christ jesus
When caring for an Alzheimer s resident she has showed so much love and never meets a stranger She has welcomed everyone she meets into her life and not fearful of entertaining a stranger She has taught me not to fear strangers but to accept them not knowing if this person may be sent by God
Christians Discipleship on Hebrews 13:8 - 12 years ago
That is to say,Jesus Christ is our Eternal Lord and God and Saviour. His essence,Power and Authority remain the same even before the beginning of all things, both those in Heaven and on earth and beneath the earth or the sea.Though all things shall pass but He is Everlasting God. He is known as the Mighty God and Everlasting Father( Isaiah 9:6),meaning He ever existed and created all things in His power ( John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16). He is the Sustainer of all things ( Colossians 1:17),without Him nothing will exist ,including dark spirits. He is the Saviour of the world(Redeemer). He is the only Loving God who laid His life down to save all men from the death penalty of their sins when everybody had gone astray( Isaiah 53:4-6)-Behold,the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world! ( John 1:29). He is the Supreme Judge for all humans( Matthew 25:31-46),and the Sovereign Lord Who is to come and reward the good deeds of men,and punish men for their wickedness( Revelation 22:12-13).
It's one of the most beautiful passages in the bible. I think it's the ones in the world who no one gives any time to- the homeless, mentally ill, and down and outs that have the most to teach us. We need to be aware of that of God in everyone
these emphatic expressions leave no doubt that God will care for us.So we have to put full confidence in Jehovah God ability and desire to care for our needs
Truly a misquoted verse used by many people. The truth shall "make"you free. The one word "make" has a strong meaning, and when changed makes a huge impact . Instead of "make" it is stated "set". When something is set that means it is able to return back to where it came from, when you are made/make you are transformed, made a new. You don't have the ability to return to what you were. Once Christians see the importance of the word "make", they will see that God has equipped them with every tools necessary to live on this Earth in order to be a strong witness. The same "make" is used toward Abraham when God promised to make him a great nation and make his name great. God didn't set him a great nation or set his name great.
Christians have been "made free", Romans 8:1-2. It is important to cultivate wisely the God given talents and spirit He has already given when you
accepted Him. Romans 8:13-17.
Not only was God's plan to "make" people free, but to make Christians perfect, in order to bring Him glory. Christians CAN have the same testimony as Christ did on Earth, because He is Christ in them, Hebrews 13:20-21 Colossians 1:10-11.
"If the Son therefore shall make you free, he shall be free indeed." John 8:36
9Verses 4-5) "Show me the path where I should walk, O Lord; point out the right road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. ..."
People, we have only one Savior. This means that David was referring to Jesus when he made this statement. The Holy Spirit inspired him to see into the future and see God being born on the earth as Jesus.
That God would do this is the greatest story ever told. He took on human flesh and identified Himself to the world through His personality Jesus. He told us about His other personality, the Father, when He said that He and the Father are one, meaning that He and the Father are the same God. But the fact remains that Jesus is the way God speaks to us, and always will be. As the Scripture says in Hebrews 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
Here the sacrifice mentioned is totally different from the old testament sacrifices. Praise cannot be compared with those sacrifices. Praise is thanks giving. Sacrifices were offered for the remission of sins. Our sins are already forgiven and there is more sacrifice needed. The Lord has offered himself as a sacrifice to redeem us from in. Today is our high priest who iis interceding for us in heaven. It seems the word sacrifice is wrongly translated and I prefer the Basic English translation which seems to be more appropriate.
Concerning Verse 8. Since Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, do you think that if He came to earth today that He would be worshiping on Sunday (the popes day)?God rested on the Sabbath, Jesus, Disciples, Paul, John, and all Bible characters worshiped on the Sabbath (Saturday)and in Isaiah we will worship on the Sabbath in heaven. So ...
This scripture is saying that Jesus Chris is God, that the good works He had done in the past are still on and will continue till we meet face to face with Him
It pays to be kind to all people - no matter the color of their skin, the clothes on their backs or the money in their pockets. God is no respector of persons, and we should not be either. The only though we can have the love to look beyond what person looks like or talks like and to treat them with kindness and goodness, is to have Christ in us and to have His Spirit dwelling in us and leading us.
This scripture give me hope for life. It lets me know that God will provide for me all my life and that I must stand on his promise by being content with what he has already provided for me. Thank you God for reminding me that you are my provider.
Heb 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto HIM without the 'camp'- The camp denotes organized religious systems that propagates the form and not the substance-bearing HIS reproach-to be identified with HIM in his rejection by organized religious systems calling the true believer a heretic, a cult etc persecuting the believer thinking they are doing the will of GOD. Lets bear the persecution like HE did for our sake.
Hi all,
What i think of Hebrews 13:8 is Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and for ever or and to the ages.
He will be Eternally after the end of the ages, he was Jesus for ever as a priest in is earthy ministry ,and after end of Laodicea he will be Eternally, which the great Holy Ghost Himself
