"if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgement and fiery indignation." A hireling-pastor will tell you this scripture does not mean what it says.
  • Sylvia on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
I thank Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior for his precious bleed. A one time sacrifice for all of his children. Glory be to God.
  • Norm on Luke 13 - 9 years ago
Repentance is to wholeheartedly turn from our own sinful ways, the ways of the world, as the LORD brings our sin to light and we are no longer ignorant of our sin. The ways of the world are broadly sinful as the devil is the god of this world wide system, or web: JESUS commands obedience as God has stopped winking at our disobedience. One must repent to be in CHRIST JESUS and be saved from the wrath to come upon the whole world. Be blessed in Christ Jesus according to His will. Amen. Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

loving God is only tha way of salvation
  • Bobby tooley on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
It is the only way we will bring one to Christ, and bring out the love that we have for God. may we always have love and compassion for our brothers and man kind. It goes alone with the two greatest commandants that God gave to man
  • Deme on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
I can't help but think that this verse reminds me "to put on the love if Christ Jesus" daily. How many times do we walk operate in our flesh and not the spirit daily? We are to think of others, most importantly give ourselves to The Lord daily, letting him add to us those things that are spiritual, so that we are able to "consider others". Father God, please help us to die to ourselves daily as you pour yourself into us. Please forgive us for being selfish, in Jesus name...Amen!
  • MockingBird on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
To provoke is to stir up :To continue through : To love and to do good works : To love as God loves us .
  • Dervon Cole on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
The love that our saviour Jesus Christ had shown the world is for more unbelievable than we could ever imaging'
  • Stephende on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
This is the stumbling stone: Born again's bank on being saved when they misinterpret John 3:16, wrongly thinking that without repentance, they will find favor with God. What Jesus impleaded was to be perfect as he was, accept his miracles as proof that God was speaking thru him because there was no individual speaking with ulterior motives. Do not be so presumptuous. God will judge
  • KJ on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
To me this verse mean just want is written, if we sin willing there no more sacrifice for sin. Jesus did died for ours sins, not for us to continue in them. I feel this is talking about someone that really know the word of God and, is over riding there conscience of wrong doing and does the sins anyway.
  • Robert A Freed on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
There are no better of a way to explain the truth of how God takes he's prophet into letting us know ''FAITH'' all things are based in this and this is he's will. Expectation a better way of life when we do then when one fall's away in unbelief.
  • Rockwell on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
when the assembly is forsaking, it's the same as one abandon the faith!
  • MockingBird on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
The day of Christ is at hand. We may not know the day or hour of our Lord's return but we can know the nearness : I believe that day is upon us : So much the more that we ought to gather together to be with our brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ . We are going to live with them forever !!!! Never miss a day to be with your loved ones even if you think they have hurt you in some way. Go to Church to be with Jesus : The church is a body of believers and the Church is the body of Jesus Christ !!!!
  • Romeek on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
It talks about me when I'm going through anything, I do it by myself. I don't trust no one with anything that is in my private thoughts. I need to start learning togetherness.
  • Olabode on Hebrews 10:25 - 9 years ago
Coming together as a brethren brings unity, cooperation and togetherness if and only if there is a true love. There are so many things that can bring brethren together, for example, encouragement, solving one brethren problem or the other, study God's word, prayer, evangelism, etc. We should not neglect the assembly of ourselves.
  • Ron on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
First of all are you Jewish? Are you a Hebrew to whom this letter was written to? Verse 26 explains itself in the second half of the verse, "There remains no more sacrifice for sin". If the 'HEBREWS' learn of Christ's sacrifice but change their mind and go back to animal sacrifices at the temple they are as good as in Hell with the door locked. This book is written to Israel...are your Israel? It is not talking about a saved gentile or Jew's daily sins! EVERY CHRISTIAN ON THIS EARTH SINS EVERYDAY AND KNOWS IT! This letter is written to Israel not the body of Christ. It is warning them that once they learn of Christ and they turn back to animal sacrifices they are now without excuse and are doomed. We need to pay more attention to the books of the Bible written directly to us today by the Apostle to the Gentiles, Paul Romans through Philemon . The rest of the books are written to Israel and are for our 'Learning'.
  • Allen on Hebrews 10:26 - 9 years ago
I think the verse is saying. If You purposely sin because You are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. Then You will not be forgiven until You repent of that sin. You can't have Your cake and eat it too.
  • Bonyah Isaac on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
Verse 26 In the Old Covenant, animals sacrifices were used to atone for people sins The inspired writer is teling the Hebrews tha animal sacrifices are obsolete because Jesus sacrifice himself once as atonement for all men sins.Hence if they deliberately sin after knowing the truth, and does not repent and confess for the blood of Christ to atone for them, then no sacrifice again to take away sins. This is Jesus is seated at God's right hand acting as our advocates, that whenever we sin,we must confess our sins for His blood to cleanse us. 1 Jn 1:9 .Sin that can't be atoned by Jesus blood is unrepentant sin. 1 Jn.5:16 17 .
  • Mary on Hebrews 10:1 - 9 years ago
This verse is telling me we don't need man to go and tell GOD to forgive us of our sins. JESUS died once and for all our sins and we are save through His blood.
  • David on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
In response to Terry Chapman's comment on verse 26. The context of this verse isn't for those who have been born again. It is for those who have heard the truth of the gospel, but rejected it. God has put a fearful conscience of foreboding within them because to their rejection of Christ. If you have been born again, you do not have to be concerned about going to hell. It cannot happen.
  • Nkosinathi on Hebrews 10:36 - 9 years ago
Impatience is carnal . until we are fully submitted under the authority of the Holy Ghost then can this patience be manifested in us and we can apply it.By our own human tactics it's impossible to be patient.
  • Randey on Hebrews 10:26 - 9 years ago
What is being discussed is a total abandonment of your faith in the Lord a walking away, a total denial that Jesus is Lord after having tasted of His goodness and mercy. If you allow that to occur in your heart, there is no forgiveness for that and no one to forgive you, for the only One that could, you now deny.
  • Bob on Hebrews 10:26 - 9 years ago
This verse has troubled me in the past. I was discussing it one day with a pastor and the Lord suddenly enlightened me. The author of Hebrews is trying to show his Jewish readers the superiority of Christ over the Law of Moses. He talks about Christ 's superiority to angels, the rest we have in Christ, His eternal priesthood which is superior to that of Aaron. He goes on to say that Christ 's sacrifice is superior to those of the Law Heb 10:12 and the new covenant superior to that of the old Heb 10:16 . The Hebrew readers had suffered severe persecution Heb 10:32-34 and were considering going back to the old system of the Law which included all of the sacrifices and offerings included therein. They were ready to abandon Christ and return to sacrificing animals to atone for their sins. The author tells them not to cast away their confidence in Christ which has great recompence of reward. For if they return to the old way of believing that sacrificing animals atoned for sins they are considering Christ 's blood worthless or an unholy thing. They were believers and had tasted of the Heavenly Gift Christ and were partakers of the Holy Ghost. Their decision to return to animal sacrifices was tantamount to: Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace. He calls this type of apostasy "sinning willfully. " If you read Hebrews in this context it will make sense.

Originally i was one of many who believed once saved always saved, but not anymore. We have to endure to the end mainly turning away from sin, and walking in the spirit under grace through faith in christ our lord and savior, and not by the works of the law. This passage is crystal clear to me, and was spoken from Jesus. "And you will be hated by all for my names sake, but he who endures to the end shall be saved " Mathew 24:10 12 talks about many believers during tribulation that will fall away. Revelations 14:9-11 talks about the punishment to those that takes up the mark of the beast. Revelations 3:15,16 explains what Jesus will do to all the lukewarm believers. You are eitherwith him and God or with the enemy, the adversary, and there is no inbetween. Galatians 5:4 Hebrews 10:26 are important scriptures to consider as well. So basically, we have to endure to the very end by turning away from sins, and abiding by Jesus 's commands to love God with all our hearts, all our souls, all our strength, and to love our neighbors. Show unconditional love towards our brothers and sisters because "love " covers a multitude of sins 1Peter 4:8 this is Jesus 's greatest commandment of all. God bless everyone, and peace be with you all! Amen!
  • Ron on Hebrews 10 - 9 years ago
Are you a Hebrew? Romans through Philemon were written to Gentiles Us! , the rest of the Bible is for 'Our learning '. Read 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV and think about it. Things different are not equal, words mean things. I don 't worry about sins that cannot be forgiven. Christ died for me and paid for All my sins and how many of my sins were future when He died...ALL OF THEM. I know where I am going when I die because God is Not a liar. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you SHALL be Saved. That was written to me, a Gentile and I am not about to call God a liar by overruling what he said by using a book not written to me. I love the book of Hebrews but if you don 't rightly divide the word this book can be a spiritual minefield which will keep you in fear all your life.

It is a challenge to consider one another, we are naturally selfish at heart without God 's grace. But once we surrender ourselves to God-anything good is possible. The best thing that could ever happen in one 's life.
  • Lilian on Hebrews 10 - 10 years ago
Jesus sanctified us from his precious blood that shed for us. We are now forgiven and pardoned of our sins because of Jesus. We must love and accept Jesus into our lives for he is faithful to his promises. We are now save and have life in abundance because of Jesus perfect obedience to our Father. Jesus loves you that we cannot even measure his love. Every drop of his blood was his mercy and grace. We are save by his grace and our faith in Christ Jesus. We must obey Jesus words, follow and live like Jesus until rapture. We must be Born Again in Spirit and not in the sinful flesh. We are save by our Faith and in inviting the Holy Spirit in our lives. Without Jesus we cant do anything. Jesus loves you Amen
