Try this for your question on the temple rebuilt.

Jesus' prophecy that the pride of the Jewish nation, the temple, would be destroyed inspired the most intense rejection of His teachings. (See Matthew 24:1, 2.) In John 2:19, Jesus says, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." Of course, Jesus is speaking of rebuilding a temple-not of stone and nails, but of living stones ( 1 Peter 2:5). Yet many refused to grasp this teaching ( John 2:20, 21). They even mocked Jesus on the cross regarding His prophecy ( Matthew 27:40).

Yet when Jesus died, the veil in the earthly temple ripped in two from the top to bottom, signifying that the temple no longer held meaning. A temple for sacrifice today would be as useless as it was then, and it would not be the house of God.

The New Testament is replete with the idea that the temple is the body of Jesus. Ephesians 2:19-22 says, "Ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God: And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." (See also 1 Peter 2:5.)

you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5

Even after God provides all this clear evidence that His temple is a spiritual one, many Christians are waiting for the Jews to receive a construction permit to rebuild a physical temple on the site where a Muslim mosque now sits. However, there is no prophecy, promise, or commandment in the Bible that says the physical temple would ever be rebuilt after the Romans razed it nearly 2,000 years ago.

I think what you need to do Bob is prove to everyone that repent means to turn from sin because it doesn't it means to change your mind God changed his mind many times and in order for anyone to be saved they have to change their minds and if you had to turn from sin to be saved you become the savior and therefore you're not going to be saved Romans 11:6 and if by Grace then it is no more of Works otherwise Grace is no more Grace but if it be of works and it is no more grace otherwise work is no more work Ephesians 2:8 and 9 for by grace are you saved through faith it is not of yourselves as gift of God not of Works lest any man should boast 1st John 1:8 if we claim to be without sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in US

Ephesians 2 Has to be one of the greatest chapters in all of the bible because it tells us we do not have to work to obtain our salvation. It is given as a gift when we trust Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour and repent of our sins.

    Hello Trevor,

I greet you in name Our Lord Jesus Christ. Hope you're well.

I am a new Christian, I gave my life to Our Lord nearly 2 years ago and it's been the best thing I have ever done. I've had joy and peace in my life since then.

I was baptised many years ago, but because of my immaturity I went back to sin.

The answer to your question " how to get closer to The Messiah " First of all the bible says " For whoever shall call in the name of the Lord shall be saved" Rom 10:13

Believe, that God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Then you have to be baptised.

Acts 2:38 Peter said, Repent, and be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

A few more scriptures for you to look at:

    Ephesians 2:8-9

    2 Timothy 2:15

    1 John 1:9

    Romans 6:23

    1 John 5:13

    Mark 16:16

    Romans 10:9-10

Hope these scriptures will help and give you a good start to getting closer to Jesus Christ our Saviour.

God Bless you, and I will pray Trevor that you will get the wisdom & knowledge for God's Words.

The fact is that all is because of the faith of Jesus Christ. The faith of any other individual is absolutely uninvolved. However, we have been told that the, "faith," in Ephesians 2:8, is our faith, changed surreptitiously to gain control? It is "not that of yourselves." It is only the faith of Christ Jesus that we need, which is made clear in 2Timothy 3:15. Now, we can update our understanding of John 3:16, in which Jesus Christ is in the word, "whosoever," believeth the Word, identified with, "him."

How do I feel about James 2:17-26? If we are talking about faith without works is a dead faith, then I totally agree. But to understand what it means, you have to have an understanding of what the bible means by faith. Please give me your definition of faith. You and I cannot produce the faith the bible speaks of. All we can produce is flesh. The faith the bible speaks of is spiritual faith. Only God's Spirit can produce spiritual faith ( Galatians 5:22). The works that come from us come from the persuasion of God's Spirit persuading us to do those things. But it is His work, not ours. He gets all the glory. ( Ephesians 2:8-9).

Again, due to space, I'll answer your other questions on John 14:15, Luke 12:9, and Romans 12:2 next.

(Part 4) John 17:11-12 also shows the keeping power of God. I believe in the permanency of salvation because the bible teaches that God is the one who saves and He does so from out of His mercy. According to Paul, in Ephesians 2:8, grace, faith, and salvation are gifted from God.

John says, in John 1:13, believers "were born, not from blood, nor from the will of the flesh, nor from the will of man, but from God." Therefore, from Scripture, a human being cannot save him/herself.I can't keep myself saved, so I have to trust God's power to keep me. John 10:27-29 is one of the most beautiful pieces of scripture that shows me that I am secure in Christ.

Also, Jude states in his doxology in Verse 24, "But to the one being able to keep you without stumbling and to set you before His glory blameless in exultation." Paul emphasized the keeping power of God's Spirit Ephesians 1:13-14, Ephesians 4:30.

Sorry this is long, but salvation is very important to me. One more post, I promise!

You just read it here in verse 31 and 32, it doesn't say anything about "trying to live right" or "going to church" or "being baptized." It says believe on the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved. If you're trusting in anything in addition to Jesus to be saved, then you're saying what Jesus did for you is not enough on its own to wash away your sins and save you. We are saved, as it says, by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ, nothing more and nothing less.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by Grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Romans 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justified the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

    John 3:16, John 3:18, John 3:36, etc.

It's great to live right and God rewards His children abundantly, but Christ alone saves.

Galatians 5:4. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Chris, we here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, are not gathering together at our church building. We are meeting in small intimate groups at our homes. We also use Zoom and Duo to "see" each other in a greater number. Even these little things are good for us to keep encouraging and edifying each other with the word of God. Reminding each other that we are sinners saved by grace only. We realize that we can do nothing to save ourselves other than believe in the finished work of Jesus on the cross. John 3:14-21. Ephesians 2:8-9. John 5:24. Cheers!

Hey Teresa, I can not tell you all that salvation means in a short paragraph but know that Salvation is by one name, JESUS CHRIST. He and the Father are one and you must call upon Christ to save you From Sin, Death, and Hell for he payed the ultimate price and suffered for all men that we may be saved! I am glad that you believe in God! But be careful for many may claim to believe but are not truly saved ( James 2:19). I encourage you to read Ephesians 2:8 and really that whole chapter! Also a simple way to explain salvation is that you must Hear the word ( Rom. 10:17) and then Believe ( John 3:16). Repent ( Acts 17:30), and Confess that he is LORD ( Rom. 10:10).

I think you're confusing our Christian walk with Salvation. like I said to Waunda: " Baptism, AFTER we are saved, is good, and if if you can be baptized then go ahead. But NOT to be saved.".So I'm not saying don't be Baptised. I'm saying you don't have to be baptized, to be saved. You said it was a requirement for Salvation. That's a problem. And on top of that, you said you have to earn it (Salvation) another problem. Because Salvation is the GIFT of God and that not of ourselves (See Ephesians 2:8-9). And let me emphasize John 3:36 again: He that believeth on the Son HATH everlasting life. Meaning the moment you believe you HAVE it. You don't earn it. That's works Salvation.
  • Benji - In Reply on 1 Thessalonians 1 - 5 years ago
David, Baptism is not a requirement to be saved, the only requirement to be saved is to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ alone for Salvation, remember Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:Not of works, lest any man should boast. Baptism (Water) is a work. We put our Faith in Jesus alone(As instructed), not Jesus + Our Baptism. It's even clear that a man can be saved without being Baptized (Water). remember the thief on the cross who was never baptized but Jesus said " To day shalt thou be with me in paradise." I'm am not against Baptism by no means. But I'm convinced Faith alone in Jesus is enough to be saved.

Very good Mr.Ezeomedo, Thou are not far from the kingdom of God.The condition you speak of is a carnal condition, the tilting flesh you refer to.Paul speaks in Ephesians about the "spirit of wisdom and revelation and the power "given to those who believe and trust in the Christ. The Resurrection of the body of Christ , is who we abide in. Paul uses the word "Fills all in all" Our father gives us all power, that which is above all according to his will. This is the condition of being in light verses being in darkness. The temple is the temple of body Christ raised in 3 days, this is the temple we abide in .He is the head of the body the church who we serve.

Adam, I am hearing baptism is part of salvation....It is a witness to the world that God washed away our sins through the blood Jesus shed on the cross and therefore we have been saved .....I used the thief on the cross to make a point to those having not been baptized that they ARE saved " through grace...by faith." Ephesians 2:4

Because of the uniqueness of man, many things contend to occupy his soul with the aim of making him loose sight of who he is. Because we naturally tilt toward the physical, we end up loosing touch of the spiritual and the consequences are rebellion, loss of identity, loss of purpose in life, and of power to bring them to bear and eternal death as a result. A process of re acquisition was started and headed by Christ and an ultimate price was paid with his life. Now, the blood is made available so that we can re access our original position with him, the saints, the prophets and the apostles in a brotherhood relationship where he is the anchor leading us to God through the holy spirit. JESUS.

My dear works alone don't save anyone, neither does faith alone. Grace is what saves, but a person is saved by grace through faith Ephesians 2:8 . And how does one knows that one is truly a partaker of grace through faith? By one's works. Faith without works is dead, Works alone won't get anyone into Heaven, but no one will be in Heaven who didn't have "faith which WORKS by love." Galatians 5:6

My dear, works don't save anyone by itself , neither does faith by itself . Grace is what saves, but a person must lay hold of grace by faith. And how is it one knows that a person is, through faith, a true partaker of grace? By their works. Faith without works is dead. you are not going to heaven if you think you can add your good works or righteousness to the work of Jesus Christ to get salvation. it is in the works of Christ alone that we are saved, not of our works least any should boast.

Dear Atlus, Satan did not always exist. He is a created being Ezekiel 28:15 was created as a cherub and when he fell he became a dragon Revelation 12:9 . Because he was created, he is technically limited, though so powerful that you wouldn't think so. He is referred to as the god of this world in II Corinthians 4:4, as well as the prince of the power of the air Ephesians 2:2 .

Our works after salvation by Grace Ephesians 2:8 9 , are for the Lord and we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works which God hath before ordained that we would walk in them Ephesians 2:10 . These are not vanity if we do them for the Lord with the right motive.

BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED acts 16:31. lf salvation is a gift Ephesians 2: 8,9 ?Why would you believe a moral religious person above Holy Scripture? God Almighty crucified His only begotten Son for you and me. Why would He require 600 commandments for you to kept in order for to get to Him in Heaven? Repent of what you are a sinner hoping to make Heaven by works
