    V. 23 - After the church age begins, Acts 2:38, the Jewish apostles and disciples went to the Gentiles and the Gentiles 'went' to the Jews (accepted the Jews testimony of Jesus). The believing Jews and Gentiles were the Christians at that time - the Jews 'n Gentiles were first called' Christians' at Antioch.

Jesus came as a carpenter, to build us into His temple, the Holy Spirit ( Acts 2:38), to live in. And as He cannot abide un-holiness, we are to be holy as He is holy - in every aspect of our lives. No church on Sunday then going home to a beer and tv sports, or going to the beach in a swimsuit. Showing ones body to the world is not - HOLINESS. The 'world' holds you in derision for that.
  • Irene123 on John 10 - 8 years ago
Jn. 10:32 - Jesus HIMSELF advocated good works, but He was referring to just Himself at this time - as He had not as yet ascended and sent back the Holy Ghost - Acts 2:4, v. 38..
  • Irene123 - 8 years ago
Gal. 12:16 - is BEFORE we are saved ( Acts 2:38); works BEFORE salvation are - self righteous works. Our SELF righteous cannot save us

    Rom. 10:12; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:37-38; Acts 4:12

My friends, did you know that Jesus (God) gave Apostle Paul secrets (mysteries ). If we read Romans 11:25, Paul tells us that if we don't believe the mysteries of his , that we are blind. We must understand the mystery that God (Jesus ) gave Paul, Colossians 2:2 . To ignore the writings of Paul with be foolish and ignorance. The mystery was kept a secret until Paul got it, share the Mystery. God

Iren123 if you think you have to get baptized for Salvation, in no disrespect to your beliefs, I would say that you have no idea of the dispensation of the grace of God. Romans through Philemon, Paul does not speak of baptist as Salvation. Yes he did get baptized, but it was a different dispensation and later he was given a new Revelation. Paul is our Apostle for this dispensation. God bless you
  • Irene123 on Acts 4 - 8 years ago
a disciple - It's plain to see now that - you have no use for God's word, nor Pastors - Heb. 10 25. If you had respect for God's word you wouldn't leave out parts of it - Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:38; 4:12.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Ray 321 - Where did you get the idea I said we don't have to be baptized, and etc.??
  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 1 - 8 years ago
No, I'm not looking for answers from man ; I've believed in the church of Jesus ( Acts 2:38) for 50 yrs. I know His Word, thank-you for your concern anyway.
  • Irene123 on 1 Corinthians 11 - 8 years ago
    V. 15 - Long hair is - UNCUT hair - no 'trimmed' split ends, no 'bangs'. "A woman ought to have POWER on her head because of the angels". The power is from God, to hear our prayers, to use us for His Glory; there is no higher calling. But long hair on a sinner woman that hasn't followed Acts 2:38 has no benefit; Cleopatra had long hair. Jezebel had long hair, Jn. 9:31.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 28 - 8 years ago
No where in the Bible does it say God is a - 'person'; it DOES say Jn. 4:24 and Rom. 8:16. Jesus very words I'm Matt. 28:19 do not say there are 3 persons NOR even 3 spirits; He said baptizing them in the NAME (not names). Acts 2:38 tells us what that name is. Also does Acts 4:12, also does Philippians 2:9-11; Isa.45:23. Jesus was the only 'person'.
  • Ray321 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Iren123 you are getting closer to understanding the Word of God. You are right about we dont't have to repent and get baptized in the book of Act's. All we have to do is follow Apostle Paul through the Lord Jesus Christ in all his epistles Romans through Philemon and be saves by grace through faith plus nothing. Take God for his Word and believe. Rightly divide the Word of God and you will see...
  • Irene123 on Colossians 2 - 8 years ago
    V. 18 is very simply saying we are not to worship angels, or light candles to graven images, nor pray to a woman statue, but to worship and pray to and give our praises to ONLY God - in Jesus' name. Those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth (God is a spirit, not a graven image). Mary was 'just' and ONLY His mother; she followed Acts 2:38 with all the others in Acts ch. 2.
  • Irene123 on Leviticus 23 - 8 years ago
April (leaven) - The leaven in the O.T. was a type of sin - sin gets in you for one little thing, maybe tobacco and SPREADS to alcohol, drugs, sex, abuse of others, and on 'n on. Egypt was also a type of sin; the Israelites wee taken out of Egypt by God. We cannot, forever, get physical sins out of our lives; only the Lord can. Nor can we remit orig. sin from Adam 'n Eve - only God can. Acts 2:38
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
    V. 45 - I have seen people say of this scripture thast it is for today; that we, if we are TRUE Christians, we should sell all we have and give to the church. Well, if they want to believe that, that is fine with me; I'm not going to debate it.
  • Blessed on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
    Irene- Amen!

Bruce- glad it was clear up.

Have a blessed day to the both of you.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 1 - 8 years ago
Matt. thru John is Jesus' (our teacher) preparing the way for His Apostles understanding and further work and so also for us. Everything that is taught from the Bible is based on the O.T. Grace isn't new; the faith Abraham had and Noah, etc. is based on God's grace. We have faith first, then we follow Acts 2:38 by faith, then His Grace takes over and leads us in His will.

Blessed: when I first saw that post that's what it look like she said. After I read it a couple more times and thought about it? I think she was talking about what she read that from another post.
  • Irene123 on Isaiah 28 - 8 years ago
    V. 11- "For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to His people". This is a prophecy of Acts 2:4; the tongues was the 'evidence' of the Holy Ghost being in them. A 'good feeling' cannot be witnessed by others; a verbalization can be witnessed. God has control of our tongue as this happens - not we ourselves. God, after all, is - alive, and puts His LIVE spirit in us.
  • Irene123 on Matthew 9 - 8 years ago
Now, to me, knit-picking is taking a scripture(s) and taking IT apart - to mean what it doesn't. What I've done is only quoted scripture - as is. Acts 2:37 - the people asked a simple SINCERE question and Peter, with the 'keys' Jesus had given him - answered them - and - 3,000 were added - THAT DAY!!! Okay, now show where I knit picked here ................
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Blessed - I'm sorry for the words I omitted from my message; I'm an editor's dau., but have never learned to proof read - very well. What I said was, I have known the Bible for 50 yrs. and I know there is no difference between Holy Ghost and Spirit. Because the apostles used them interchangeably in one sentence it can get confusing to others. I'm sure it has to do with the 'context'.
  • Blessed on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Maybe I understood wrong. Did you say there is a difference in Holy Spirit and Holy Ghost?

John 38He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
  • Irene123 on Acts 8 - 8 years ago
To receive the Holy Ghost today you follow the plan of Jesus in Acts 2:38; the people gathered from all over the Roman Emp. in Jerusalem for the Day of Pentecost asked, after hearing Peter's message - Acts 2:37 .....
  • Irene123 on 2 Corinthians 2 - 8 years ago
We are all one in Jesus Christ - IF we are in Him, and He in us. He can only be 'in us' spiritually - through the infilling of His Holy Spirit by following Acts2:38. Yes, it's by believing (faith) in what Acts 2:38 says. I looked up 'faith' in the Bible, Jas. ch. 2; it tells all about what faith is. It's not just Rom. 10:13; it's also v. 14 and Heb. 10:25 - " ... not forsaking the assembling ... "
  • Irene123 on John 7 - 8 years ago
    V. 38 - the fruits of the spirit come only AFTER we have r'cvd His Spirit in Acts 2:38. All 3, repentance, baptized in the NAME of Jesus Christ ... and ye shall the GIFT of the Holy Ghost. It is a 'gift' too. This is Jesus salvation for us.
  • Irene123 on John 7 - 8 years ago
    V. 38 - love, joy - yes, but the 'waters' are our witness of the truth of salvation found in Acts 2:38. Love, joy, peace is also a witness, but do not show the way of salvation they are the 'fruits' of the spirit - not salvation.
  • Irene123 on John 3 - 8 years ago
Rom. 3:8 - we need to be very careful about what the Bible says; Mk. 16:17 are Jesus VERY words, and Rom. 8:9 confirms those words, as does Acts 2:4; !0:46; 19:6.
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
Blessed - I've for 50 yrs. there is no difference between the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit. On what comment of mine did you make your comment?
  • Irene123 on Acts 2 - 8 years ago
a disciple - Thank-you for the pleasant reply. I was thinking - the new Christians wouldn't take part in their old O.T. things, nor would they be allowed into the temple with their new belief; it would have been a sacrilege to the 'Jews'. I th'ot this because the people gathered with Jesus on Solomon's Porch; He didn't go into the temple proper.
