“Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this.”

32:27 The wrath - Their rage against me, as it is expressed, #Isa 37:28|,29, their furious reproaches against my name, as if I were cruel to my people or unable to deliver them. The fear hereof is ascribed to God after the manner of men. Strangely - Insolenty and arrogantly above what they used to do.
Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemie, lest their aduersaries should behaue themselues strangely, and lest they should say, Our hande is high, and the Lord hath not done all this.
