Jeff (cont. 2); Did the Lord ever say to Judas, "...But when you are converted, strengthen your brethren?" No! He only spoke of him being about to betray Him. Was Peter a thief? Did Peter stir up everyone at the dinner table to murmur against Mary, when she anointed the Lord? Did Peter ever run to the Jews in a sulk to offer his services to destroy the Lord? Judas wasn't acting out of a panic!
  • A disciple on John 19 - 8 years ago
Jeff; for what cause is this contention? Did Judas Iscariot ever get engaged in his calling like Peter did? Was Judas named the first of all the Apostles? What time Peter spoke ill advised, was out of love for Jesus, but not understanding the meaning of the cross. How can you compare those two men? Judas fell away in his heart after covetousness, became a thief, and stirred up murmuring and evil.
  • R4Love on Genesis 11 - 8 years ago
I have a question. I just started reading and in Gen. 1:26, it states "...Let us make man in our image, after our likeness". Who was He talking to?

  • Cross on Matthew 21 - 8 years ago
Dear Insight777: I'm sorry, but do you really mean to say that Jesus taught water baptism removes sin? Because if that's the case, then Jesus Himself is a sinner since he went through water baptism too. Jesus' baptism is a sign of obedience to the Father. A confirmation that Jesus is willing to complete the plan of salvation by dying on the cross to redeem us from sin.
  • A disciple on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
Elijah; What has it to do with our salvation? Easy! What was ruined and lost for us by Adam and Eve's sin? What then was the thing that God created us for to begin with? Since the disaster in Eden, and the resulting expulsion as unfit from the presence of God, none of us has ever had a chance to find out what it even means that we were made in the image of God. That's what our salvation is for!
  • A disciple on Revelation 9 - 8 years ago
Hi Steve; No! absolutely NOT "thanking a person for disobedience!" I don't get the connection with the verse you quote? In the same chapter, those same "Jews which believed on Him" very quickly became angry and quarrelsome with the Lord, and proved what kind they really were; and even though they were in some way believing on HIM, Jesus said that they were of their father the devil. What is point?
  • A disciple on Psalms 71 - 8 years ago
"In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion." Psalms 71:1 What ever entered into men's hearts, and after what were they led, that confusion should then be sent by God for judgment and punishment, restraining them from what they imagined to do? And how so would it be God's conclusion and righteous remedy to let one be put to confusion? The degree of embarrassment should be fitting to the measure of our pride in the trespass, and of the inordinate thoughts and behavior we followed against better judgment and obedience. The error of the ungodly is made manifest by the confusion and darkness that they are held under and it shouldn't be any less for one professing knowledge of the truth in Christ. All the more we ought to be careful to attend to love, and a good conscience, and faith without hypocrisy, if we like not to be ashamed before men or worse, at the presence of the Lord when He comes.
  • Elijah on Revelation 3 - 8 years ago
Praises to the Father and son: To one and all, when I stated it is of no significance, I was taking the same attitude of Christ when he told his explanation for making this stated fact in John 32. He was telling the crowd of people to calm down because it was no big deal that he had stated such. Secondly, how does the disclosure of this fact, have any effect on my salvation?
  • I AM on Psalms 71 - 8 years ago
O Satan, thou devil! You cause my people to do all manner of wickedness through deceit! You have no good in you! And a God? You are not! How can you be God when lusting after the sun and the moon or the stars? Or, what power will you have when you are cut off and cast out? Therefore, O Wicked one: NOW will their sin be your sin: and their punishment your punishment, O death, thou son of perdition!
  • Harold on Revelation 1 - 8 years ago
My Pastor says the word 'angels' in verse 20 refers to the pastors of the seven churches. I am not sure of that., is that correct?
  • A disciple on John 3 - 8 years ago
Alex; What does it mean that Christ shall be born in you? There is no place where the LORD or the Prophets ever use words like, "Impregnate the world." The Lord Jesus Christ came not to "spiritually" breed with the world, but to call His Elect OUT OF THE WORLD! Being "Born from above" is as when the Spirit and the power of God overshadowed the Lord's mother, when we receive the Word in our heart.
  • Question Asker on Genesis 1 - 8 years ago
Why has it been changed from Heavens to Heaven? It was always Heavens.
  • A disciple on 2 Corinthians 9 - 8 years ago
Mahlon; The Glad Tidings of God and our salvation in Christ has NOTHING to do with Tithing! Have you ever read what Jesus said about false teachers and false prophets "Making Merchandise" of us? A Man of God would more likely go to work and earn his own living, and not say a thing about money; than to give appearance of covetousness. Beware of connecting money with the word of God being preached!
  • A disciple on Jonah 1 - 8 years ago
Christian Powell; What is the difference between Sodom and Nineveh? and why was one shown mercy and the other destroyed? The men of Nineveh repented at the preaching of Jonah: God's pronouncement of imminent destruction convicted them of their sins, and they responded appropriately. Although Sodom had Lot living among them, there wasn't one person who took it to heart. Read Ezekiel 16:49-50
  • Brother Daniel FC on Galatians 3 - 8 years ago
In Phil. 2:2, 5 we are invited: “Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind… Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus…” God wants us to be one with Him, to live in our hearts and minds. “Abide in me, and I in you. John 15:4". “Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you...? 1Co 6:19"
  • Brother Daniel FC on 1 John 5 - 8 years ago
In the previous comment the "plus" and "equal" signs do not show. The statement should read:
    1 plus 1 plus 1?, second: 1 plus 1 plus 1 equal 3, and the last one should read: 1 plus 1 plus 1 equal 1.
  • Jeannie on Jeremiah 35 - 8 years ago
Have I misunderstood this chapter35? - God sent instructions via Jeremiah to the Rechabites who did not adhere. God was not pleased because they were faithful to man and not Him. Therefore God pronounced evil upon them. But I notice comments and Commentary are saying otherwise.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on Romans 11 - 8 years ago
Eternal truths- Of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.
  • LINDA L. DUFFANY on Nahum 1 - 8 years ago
    " COULD " NAHUM-1:9..." ALSO-MEAN , THAT IF I AM SICK..., THAT " THE-AFFLICTION " WILL-NOT COME ON ME " AGAIN ? " (-AFTER-I"VE-BEEN..." HEALED-
  • A disciple on Psalms 60 - 8 years ago
Dear BSP; I have to tell you, that even these kinds of Scriptures are still mightily filled with the Spirit of God, and written of Divine purpose; not merely David's feelings (as you suppose) as if he was discouraged. Look at the world around us! What do you see? Do you see as I do, that the restraint is being taken away? Why do you think that is? Because God sees no integrity or truth in people!
  • Donna Cromb on Leviticus 23 - 8 years ago
Acts 2:1 refers to Lev 23:15 and tells it was 50 days after Passover when Jesus Christ died and arose, but am I missing something? I don't see how the unleavened bread for 7 days, 7 days of fire offerings, or 7 Sabbaths have to do with Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Sand how does that relate to Easter? My Bible also says to look at Deut 16:9 and 20:16. Why when it is just a prophecy
  • A disciple on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
Randy; "Shall we continue in sins that grace may abound? God forbid! How shall we who are dead to sin live any longer therein?" Jesus came to die on the cross, so we could be released from the bondage and debt of sin, and to REALLY set us free. "NOW ARE YOU CLEAN THROUGH THE WORD WHICH I HAVE SPOKEN UNTO YOU." "He that commits sins is the servant of sin, and the servant abides not for ever."
  • A disciple on Jeremiah 46 - 8 years ago
Why are the ancient words and dealings of God in ancient times and long past peoples recorded in the Book of God? That we may read and hear of them and learn to fear the LORD our God, so that we do not as our wicked ancestors did to defy the LORD's commandments, and provoke Him with their sinning till He was left no choice but to take them all away in His wrath. His Word is eternal.
  • Randy on 1 John 3 - 8 years ago
Who are those who 'do not sin.....cannot sin'? Paul says if I am partaker of God's grace and am thankful for it, why am I still judged a sinner? Did Jesus take away all of our sin, or are we still sinners?
  • A disciple on Luke 11 - 8 years ago
"But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." A woman in the crowd lifted up her voice, perhaps thinking that she is boldly confessing and honoring the Lord by praising His mother but what is she really doing? Another attempt of the devil to get people's eyes off of Jesus, and on to a fictitious Queen of heaven? The spirit of the pagan subtly trying to make a road in among the Saints AGAIN? What kind of spirit was crying out, O blessed Mama of Jesus! Yes Mary was blessed AMONG women but not ABOVE any of them! Jesus the Son of God come in flesh, HE IS THE BLESSED ONE! And ALL our affection and praise is to HIM! So His response to her immediately puts away all idolaters as ignorance, confusion, and worthless making us all equal both with respect to Him and toward each other: and the "Blessed" AMONG us "They that hear the Word of God and keep it!"
  • Brother Daniel FC on 1 John 5 - 8 years ago
It is not meant to be an insult: it just states a fact. To a Disciple. When I ask someone: how much is 1 1 1? and tells me he doesn t know, I say he she is ignorant or uneducated. Then, if I tell him that 1 1 1 3 and he says: I don t believe it, I say he is an non-believer. But: if he tries to explain to me that 1 1 1 1 I say he she has a mental challenge.
  • Brother Daniel FC on Galatians 3 - 8 years ago
Say Brian, I think you re confusing UNITY with MULTIPLE PERSONALITY: God the Father, Jesus His only begotten Son and the Holy Spirit can think and act as ONE because of their perfect mind but none of them suffer of multiple personality disorder, as you maintain. Read John 17, the most beautiful prayer in the Bible: Is Jesus praying to Himself?
  • Ruth on Luke 6 - 8 years ago
If we speak about people who do not follow these words above, perhaps we need to dig further into our own eye. Even a simple cloud passing through will cast a shadow on the ground and if that cloud says to the waters below. Why do you temptest so? Why so dark, confused and angry?
I believe that we are all clouds and water. Responsible for how much light we let shine through us.
    To I Am
    From ME
  • A disciple on 1 John 5 - 8 years ago
Brother Daniel F; what do you mean by, "I think some people have mental problems not spiritual..." ?
