The obvious answer is that they are descended from the 12 tribes of Israel; and go forth to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom in the Tribulation. There are those who would suppose through say; the book of James that it is referring to those who are in the early church which started off among the Jews in the 1st Century. However; Paul in scripture made it clear that Gentiles at this time are "grafted in" to the vine of the Jews in whom the promises and covenants were made originally. It also says toward the end of Romans that there is blindness in part until the "fullness of the Gentiles comes in." ( Romans 11:25). This surely could be a reference to the Rapture; although as for those physically ALIVE at the time the Gentiles are done overrunning Jerusalem would be the time of national repentance; likely occurring as Zechariah 14 indicates when the Lord is about to return and half of Jerusalem is taken.

There are comments about Dan as being absent because of the reference made prophetically by Moses to them being "as a serpent"; this would indicate sins; and also there are those who say Antichrist himself comes from that tribe. Nonetheless; the time of Jacob's trouble ( Jeremiah 30:7) would indicate the testing or refining of the nation as a whole; where "two thirds perish; and one third" are refined in the fire ( Zech 13:8). The two prophets who also are also preaching and themselves causing plagues and are indestructible but killed and resurrected after Antichrist becomes possessed with the demon from the pit will be around also. It appears the 144,000 that appear in heaven are translated; although it cannot be ruled out that they are martyred. Nonetheless; there hasn't been a group sealed and spared from God's disasters in the whole world before this event.

It will be more preaching on declaring God's Kingdom arriving on earth than the gospel; as by the sixth seal clearly there are no more atheists on the earth.

This chapter is a continuation of the exhortations of the promises of cursing for turning away from God; and to a lesser extent of the volume of the text; the promise of blessings for obedience. There is always opportunity while one lives; even when disbursed to the "outer parts of heaven" (v. 4) for making things right with the Lord; and this indeed is his promise to Israel.

This passage contains the famous "free will" passage about choosing life (v. 19). It reminds us of Joshua's statement "as for me and my household; we shall serve the Lord ( Joshua 24:15). For the chosen nation; it is hard to separate the transgressions of individuals from eventual exile of both Judah and Israel. God; in His foreknowledge knew of course that all these rebellions would come to pass. Again; such preaching today certainly wouldn't be very popular. It is hard to say how much of today's calamities in society are due to sin and the curses on a nation; as the warning Christ had in His time about the tower of Siloam. ( Luke 13:1-5). However; it is clear that all of creation is groaning at present. The law can never save us; but these passages are talking about the 1st Commandment primarily; leading of course to all other sources of sin and rebellion if any other "gods" are venerated. This allows; for instance the fornications that idol worship invokes; the murder of the unborn warned about time and time again in scripture when children were "put through the fire" ( 2 Kings 23:10) and numerous other passages are examples of two other resulting transgressions against the Ten Commandments resulting from turning from the living God.

Again; verse 11 and the next couple verses show that there is sufficient words from the Lord to make clear how to be obedient; Deut. 29:29 in other words doesn't indicate that He is hiding this sort of vital information. We only truly BELIEVE these as well as ANY other scriptural admonitions if we have the Spirit of God.

Thank you for your kind explanation!

Please forgive me, for I surely did not mean to imply that I thought that the creatures were redeemed! Only people are redeemed by the blood of the precious Lamb, Jesus Christ, praise the Lord!

No one knows when Jesus' second coming is going to be. Not even Jesus himself only God the Father. So with that we all must be ready as he returns for us. read Mathew 24.

I highlighted my search to family in my pocket book Bible, this is what I found Joshua 7:14 speaks about family and households. As far as our relationships carrying over into Heaven, I have not came across any verse since I have been studying that we will reunite with them. I am not saying God forbids it in Heaven maybe only that those who follow Christ will enter the kingdom because not my whole family is Christ-like. But I do pray for them all so they will have a change of heart and accept Jesus into their heart as well.

Hello, I'd like to offer a counter position. That's great that you're convinced that Christians aren't bound to observe the Sabbath, but is God convinced? He deliberately wrote "Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy" as the 4th of the 10 commandments and the Sabbath is Saturday. We should honor God everyday, but the Bible absolutely does say to make Sabbath (Saturday) a holy day. And if someone doesn't think the ten commandments apply, then what else doesn't apply and how do you choose what applies exactly.

6th commandment says do not kill, but I don't hear anyone trying to reverse that command.

Mark 2:27-28 - Sabbath made for man

Mark 3:4 - its ok to do good on the Sabbath

Colossians 2:16 - don't let others judge you

Matthew 5:17 - law not abolished, but fulfilled. (some still interpret this as abolished, although it just said it wasn't.)

These verses seem to clarify the intent of the Sabbath, but I don't see any verses saying to disregard the Sabbath completely and do not remember it or keep it holy. Those who apply the law is fulfilled to it would also need to apply it equally to do not kill and other commands, but I doubt that God thinks its ok to kill. God bless.

The one hundred and forty thousand is the faithful servants who keep God's Ten commandments. I know we as humans are not perfect in any way. But God sent his only begotten Son to intercess for us for when we do fail and we are able to repent wholeheartedly our sins against God. I am now studying the book of Revelations: a Revelation of Jesus Christ. Those who decide to not keep his seventh day holy is also an abominatin to God's commandemnts. I know many in modern days go to church on sunday to honor God but in truth it is an abomination because the seventh day is sanctified by God himself. sunday is the first day of the week. I am and have recently found this out in the last couple of years. I know honor God's Sabbath Day from friday evening to satuday evening. I stay home and study and read and learn more about how I can be in truth with God my savior. It was hard in the beginning but soon I made a plan to get the things I would need before the weekend groceries and gas other shopping to be done as before I would go shop on saturdays or travel to shop in a bigger town. Its all about change and the majority of this society doesnt like change unless they materially benefit from it. So in answering your question because it will be 140k of His true followers whom will keep his commandments.

    Happy Sabbath Day

You do know what the mark is? The "mark of authority" is what you just explained correct? It has begun that the mark of religion has been in place now for hundreds of years. the year of the papacy. When they the Roman christians now Roman catholics changed God's Sabbath Day from saturday to sunday. They have no authority to change anything and God certainly didnt give anyone authoriy to change it. God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Amen. So why would people follow that "change of the sabbath day?" not even the Son of God would give authority to man to do such an abomination against God himself. Wouldnt you agree? also another lie is that these same people say that the sabbath day is a jewish religion well the jews walked away from God, yes they were the anointed ones to fulfil God's work but turned against Jesus. In addition when God proclaimed the Sabbath Day in was written in Genesis before any man or religion.

Mathew 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.(Lev.26:2)

Exodus 20:11 For in six days the Lord made Heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

( Gen 2:2,3) 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he made. And God blessed the seventh day , and sactified it: because that init he had rested from all work which God created and made.

( Hebrews 4:4) Hebrews chapter 4 explains His promise of rest.

    Happy Sabbath Day.

Christians are not bound by some NT command to observe Saturday as the NT sabbath. Christians should honor God every day and there is nothing bad about setting aside special days for particular worship purposes. But the Bible does not tell Christians to make Saturday a special day to make holy to the Lord. My brother-in-law was a missionary to Samoa years ago. American Samoa and Samoa are about 100 miles apart but are on different sides of the international dateline. I am convinced God does not intend Christians on one side of the dateline to fight with Christians on the other side over which day should be honored above the next in NT law.

Gi Gi Gbu..But if you think about the Promise to Abraham it was about multiplication...Because Abraham OFFERED UP his only son Issac God Promised Abraham that he wd be multiplied as the sands of the seas...But the 2 nd Promise was a heavenly Promise... GEN 22 : 15 and Hebrews 6 : 13 ...That was the only Promise that God made that he Swore by himself....Impling that he himself was gonna be multiplied as the Stars of HEAVEN...Thus the sower and his precious seed the WORD that new Covenant The H.G. the Children of PROMISE via the good seed of Christ...Thats y Isaiah refers to JESUS as everlasting father. impling he was gonna Sire Children everlasting Children the H.G. Spirits...That Promise to Abraham resulted in the 12 tribes...But under the new covenant there is gonna be an Israel of God via the seed of Christ...A lil one is gonna become a thousand and a small one a strong nation...An Israel of God...In Rev 22 we see the 12 manner of fruits coming out of the Throne of God a heavenly Israel ...And Isaiah 49 tells us of a Heavenly Jacob...which is an Israel of God...the sun nor any heat does lite on them...b/c they are Spirts..An Israel of God that is gonna be born in us sinners...Our new innerman is the H.G. the Child of PROMISE the Kingdom...Truly i say unto you Unless ya receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in...Which is that woman in travail and birth pains ...

.....Ya gotta realize just as there was an eartly Israel by the offering up of Issac...There is gonna be a heavenly Israel by the offering up of Christ Jesus...Remember that great Promise was 2 fold ...Earthly and Heavenly...If ya be in Christ then are you Abrahams seed and heirs according to the PROMISE...That new covenant being the Promise the multiplication of Christ in humanity as the Field is the world Jew amd Gentile a like. ..As 27 times in the O.T. the prophets saw the world in travail and birth pains...Remember Jeremiah saw ALL MEN in TRAVAIL. Jer. 30 : 6 KJV..

Hebrews 6 and Hebrews 10 refer to religious individuals who professed Christianity for a while but then fell away for one reason or another. These types of superficial but lost Christians are spoken of by the Lord in Matthew 7:

    Matthew 7:23

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Jesus did not say He once knew them before they fell away, but He never knew them.

  • Richard H Priday on Deuteronomy 29 - 3 years ago
This chapter contains a rather well quoted verse in the last verse 29 about the hidden things of the Lord. The rest of the verse is revealing; as the warnings of the entire chapter are clear.

we see prophetic overtones here of verses such as found in Isaiah 66 about those who are viewed in the pit of hell on the earth in the future. The mention of brimstone and burning in verse 23 shows an opening to hell as well; following destruction in the same way as Sodom and Gomorrah. This should make CLEAR to all those detractors who claim there is no mention of hell in the O.T. that it is simply not a true statement.

The REASONING here is quite revealing. The attitude of verse 19; namely blessing and assuring peace in the corrupt heart and soul of man that they can secretly harbor abominations as a result of the previous verse going after other gods surely is a sober warning to those today who are clearly having demonic manifestations while attributing it to the "Holy Spirit".

Earlier verses indicate that the covenant was made similar to the first; and involving those present and others as well in Moab. They were reminded of a summary of the 40 years in exile; relief from Egypt and its foreign gods (v. 2; 16-17) as well as their recent victory over Og and Sihon; beginning to give a few tribes initial lands of conquest for their inheritance. The blessings and cursings mentioned in previous chapters of Deuteronomy are once again repeated; this time going straight to the end result of final judgment.

This should cause us to pause whenever we take the "New Covenant" i.e. "accepting Christ" seriously. It is HIS covenant with our souls; having paid the redemption price to enable us to be adopted into the beloved. Should we enter in; it is on HIS terms; not negotiable and/or with a god of our own imagination. Dying to self; thankfully is made possible; but we m ust make sure that we are honest about counting the cost involved to be a faithful disciple.

Blessings to you, I would like to add to the second question that we have a duty and obligation to be in His Word and study diligently. Many are the wolves in sheep clothing and I would humbly state this: To prevent heresy (think of what you HEAR from what people SAY) go directly to the source. Jesus is the Word, as you read the Word the Word reads you. You become refined by His reading of your heart and thus will allow you to better discern fact from fiction, truth from lies.

    Respectfully,

    Hi Rose,

The answer yes, animals/pets will always be a part of God's Kingdom and this is revealed in the scripture.

God's creative work in Genesis included animals. God created the animals and said they were good Genesis 1:25 So there is plenty of reason for us to believe there will be pets/animals on the new earth Revelation 21:1

There will certainly be animals during the millennial kingdom:

    Isaiah 11:6-9

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

    God Bless.

You might listen to some Greg Laurie (Harvest Church) on YouTube. He's been preaching a lot on Signs and Revelation.

Three signs are the World Governments working together to bring about: One World Government, One World Money System; and One World Religion.

In the future, we can't use the current money systems. They'll KNOW how much money we have. They'll offer a mark: one the HAND or FOREHEAD to use our own money.

I call those things, "thermometers". We need to pay attention to world systems, but not to run our lives. Ok?

We must be born again as Jesus told us. John 3. People judge Jesus by how we act. Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit to help us live as Christian followers of Jesus.

We need to grow our faith. Not fear.

Gi Gi Gbu but you do greatly err...Jesus himself was the multiplication of God..Thats y God Almighty instructs all the angels to worship his Son...I will make him my 1st born, My only son...Jesus was an absolute Son, God the son... Hebrews 1 : 8 but unto the Son he says Thy Throne O God is forever and ever...But Jesus has a seed to sow in humanity which is his WORD as the great Promise is Multiplication of God...Remember God swore by his very self that Christ was gonna be multiplied as the stars of Heaven, Thats y the sower has to go forth and sow his precious seed in humanity...That we might birth a baby Christ...Thats y Jesus said behold i send the PROMISE OF MY FATHER UPON YOU...Which resulted in a 3 rd person the H.G. that Child of PROMISE...Which was the multiplication of Christ/God...Being bornagain of an incorruptible Seed IS GESTATION.

.....Jesus cd not refer to the H.G. as the PROMISE if he were not the multiplication of very God....Thats y he is saying to whom the WORD HIS SEED came it made them Gods...But these things are hid from the wise and Prudent but revealed unto Babes and sucklings...His offspring It has to come by divine revelation...Thats y Jesus always refered to himself as the SON OF MAN...Mankind is gonna birth a baby Christ...As Paul said we must be Married to Christ and bring forth fruit unto God...Which is the wheat a baby Christ simply b/c the sower of that GOOD SEED is the Bridegroom...He cd not refer to himself as the Bridegroom if he didn't want to multiply himself with his seed/Word...He wants to do his Fathers will which is to multiply very God with his good seed the words the contents of that book, that he wrote with his own blood..That New Covenant....Remember Gi Gi he has to know us, that when that good seed is gonna be sown in our hearts...Thus there has to be gestation in the spritual realm...As that which is born of the spirit is spirit the H.G...Emanuel God with us. Plz note the KiNGDOM does not come till the Woman gives birth.

Strong's concordance suggests the Hebrew word translated "crop" in Leviticus 1 means "Conspicuousness" or "prominence." The word "feathers" in Lev. 1 suggests "plumage" and the same word is translated in Ezekiel 17 as "feathers" and in Job 39 as "ostrich."

    Ezekiel 17

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord God; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:

    Job 39:13

Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

These associations with the words "crop" and "feathers" in other passages lead me to believe the "glory" of the birds was removed and cast aside before the bird was burnt as an offering.

To draw an application, before Christians can offer their bodies an acceptable sacrifice to God their own "glory" must be discarded.

    Romans 12:1

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

    Psalm 51:17

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

I believe there is a very important NT lesson and application of Deuteronomy 25:4, that is brought out in two passages in the NT.

    Deuteronomy 25:4

Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.

    1 Corinthians 9

9 For it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

10 Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope.

    1 Timothy 5

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18 For the scripture saith, thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

Strong's Concordance gives a proposed definition for the Hebrew word as a 'perversity' or 'fraud.' The Hebrew word translated "frowardness" in Proverbs 10 is also translated "perverse things" in Proverbs 23.

    Proverbs 23:33

Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
  • Marke - In Reply on Ezekiel 38 - 3 years ago
A Christian is not directed by God to follow OT laws and ordinances but is directed by God to honor the spirit and intent of laws that reveal aspects of God's will for our lives today. The NT records the word "sabbath" in the Gospels and in Acts, but is only mentioned once after the Book of Acts, and does not give the impression God wants us to "keep the sabbath holy" as He did in the OT.

When Jesus came He came to the Jews, and the Gospels and Acts are records of His ministry to Jews. The epistles that followed the Book of Acts are not directed to the Jews so much as they are intended for the Church.
