    2 Corinthians 10:7 Commentary

Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? Many JUDGED Paul by the meanness of his person, the weakness of his body, the lowness of his voice, his outward circumstances of life, his poverty, afflictions, and persecutions; and despised him; whilst they looked upon the riches, eloquence, haughty airs, noisiness, and personable airs of the FALSE APOSTLES, and admired them.

IF a man trusts that he is Christ's: is fully assured that he has an interest in Jesus's love and favour, is redeemed by his blood, is a partaker of his grace, and a believer in him; that he is a minister of the Gospel, and an disciple of Christ, one that is qualified and sent forth by Jesus to preach the word.

Who don't go about to disprove others of being Christ's or not (by judging).

My comment: Anyone that is born again through Christ Jesus the Lord, and has received the Holy Spirits Baptism: is going to be SCRUTINIZED by most everybody. Especially if the Holy Spirit has anointed you to ministry. So remember that your GIFT will make room for you. It's useful to have a good relationship with your Church's leadership.

Satan doesn't want us to do what Jesus is calling us to. Being on leaderships prayer list is a good thing.

We submit ourselves to Jesus's leadership and Follow Him. My baby Christian-hood was spent within Church leadership for a season. I was involved evangelistically with other street preachers. We all had jobs too.

Apostle Paul was traveling with other followers of Jesus. But he was singled out (with Satan's help) to be hated for appearance, message, volume , knowledge of Jewish, Roman, and other learning. Don't take it personally. "THEY" are responsible for their own deeds.

You do what Jesus said to do. He will catch "all the rocks" that people aim at you. You're Gods kid__that's all you need to know. Read Ezekiel slowly. We got it good.

    Hi Mary!

    I hope this will help.

    1. Act 1:9-11. It tells us Jesus will return the same way he left.

    2. Go to 1 these 4:14-18

Here it decribes how you will know Jesus when he comes. The most important part is we will met him in the skies. Jesus will NOT touch the earth. It is very plain on that.

Got to Matthew 24:29-31. Also here it tells us he does not come in secret. When he comes the trumpets of God will blow and shouts from heaven. His Angels will come to Earth.

    Go to 1 corin 15:51-52

John 14:1-11 this should also help. As long as you seek for Jesus's truth he will always show you the way.

God bless my friend hope this helps. If you need more please let me know. Thanks.

This is also in The Jerusalem Bible it is Daniel 3, it is called the Song of Azariah,

We are allowed to pray & repeat GOD's WORDs. Jesus repeated David's Psalms 22:1, on the cross as He lived out prophetic Words inside that chapter.

    Hopefully that's helpful

2nd he notes "even so are we Christ's" = also belonging too, also, James 2,

    But we are to Judge ourselves, John 7:24, 1Corinthians 11:31, 1Peter 3,

    James 1:5,

    Hopefully these are helpful

Sometimes not all of the disciples were present with each other, when Jesus taught something.

There is something called HARMONY of the Gospels because four disciples were seeing and hearing the same thing so the scriptures will be written very similar or very differently IF one of them was not present at the time and their writings will not be worded identically.

They were not all together when they wrote the books for the Bible that they were canonized the same. The times or years of the writing could be different too.

It helps greatly to be using A REFERENCE BIBLE. The ones with a CENTER OF EACH PAGE REFERENCE COLUMN, will have tiny "a-b-c" notes that point to a similar passage, a prophesy, or additional information (like a harmony scripture).

    John 3:36****

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

    John 3:18

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

I used the search engine on this website and I used Google search to verify your claim.

there was some indication that Apostle Luke wrote a harmonizing verse but I couldn't find it; maybe someone else can, but I thought I would write back and let you know.

These were quotes of Jesus. In answer to your question, Book of John never had a verse 37 in Chapter 3.

That's why most of us are using The King James Bible. It makes studying easier, conversation, interpretation easier.

You sound like a good student. Treat yourself to Reference Study version of the KJB Bible.

    Hello Sue!

Yes! Please look at Mark 16:16 " he who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

Yes this makes it very plain.

With that said are there exceptios?

Yes! Remember the two that was crucify with Jesus. Remember 1 I had said if you or the son of God save yourself and us. But the other their said Lord remember me. Christ told him he will be with him in his Fathers kingdom. Was he baptized? No. But his faith in Jesus saved him.

Here are more scriptures you can read on the subject.

    Romans 6:4

    Eph. 4:5

    Mark 1:9-10

    John 3:23

    1Peter 2:21

Is it a matter of personal opinion? Yes! But not yours or mine. But is Christ's command.

    Go to John 3:5

"Unless one is horned of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

    Hope this helps my friend.

If you need more let me know.

    God bless my friend.

Is that verse in another translation? Was that a scripture added after the findings of the Dead Sea Scrolls? Is there a footnote?
  • Donya - In Reply - 3 years ago
Baptism was done prior to the crucifixion of Jesus. Once He was crucified our sins were paid for. This is the Rightly Divided Bible teaching. See: The man on the cross who hung near Jesus accepted Him as his Savior. Jesus told him, "Today you will be with me in Paradice." Note, That man had never been Baptized.

The LORD revealed to me after your question. There is significance of the writer of Proverbs, his life & witness of. Proverbs 13:24, Proverbs 22:15, Solomon appears to have written Proverbs chapters 10 through 29. Solomon the son of David Proverbs 1:1, if any man truly understand the grief associated with undisciplined children would be a surviving son of David. Please read the tragic stories of David's children. 2Samuel 13, 2Samuel 15,- 2Samuel 18, 2Samuel 19, 1Kings 1:5-, * 1Kings 1:6 - 1Kings 2,

The Bible mentioned 3 Joseph character

The first is Joseph the son of Jacob mentioned in the Old Testament.

The second and third Joseph was mentioned in the New Testament who were Joseph the husband of Mary, and Joseph of Arimathaea who was also Jesus' disciple.

Neither Enoch went to the 3rd heaven where God sits on His throne as John says only 1 has goner to heaven. Heb11:13 there those mentioned in vrs .:1-12 All died. Elijah didn't as went up in a whirlwinds that only occur is our atmosphere . His followers didn't think so either as they spent time looking for him, Last He some 20 years after wrote a letter to the new king Moses was seen not alive but in a vision of things to come.. And today no one goes to heaven as Ecc.9:1 all who have died are still there waiting for Jesus to return.

Seeing and understanding what the Lord has done through His Son Jesus Christ, we can never know unless we are living in Him. Looking for evidence outside of His word is walking outside the path of His righteousness. Living in a world that rejects the Gospel will be all the evidence you need to know the truth. Understanding the forgiveness of sin, and why Jesus came ,will come in time to those who love Him!

The subject of prophecy is complex and as a new Christian 40 years ago something that was often on my mind. The basic crux of theory as to the last generation was that 1948 with Israel becoming a nation in a day ( Isaiah 66:7-8) which was prophesied meant that that was the beginning of that generation. Well; it is 2022; and with Psalm 90:10 pretty well showing the length of a generation being 70 years or 80 at most we are already going to go to at least 2029 before the 2nd coming. (Interestingly the second part of the Psalm 90:10 about "labor and sorrow" do sound like labor pains; but also could just show the natural end of life for the individual.

Anyway; some say that the fig tree parable assures us of 1948; or perhaps 1967 when Jerusalem was recaptured. That was under the assumption of a 40 year generation when I was a young Christian. Many forget the second part of the prophecy about ALL the leaves ( Luke 21:29 and other gospel passages). This would tie into the land of "unwalled villages" with the Ezekiel 38 war as well; and the prosperity in the land. It would seem that oil and natural resources are beginning to be the "hook in the jaw" for many-whether Russia is Gog; or Turkey and other nations who may fit the bill better. Anyway; it seems that Psalm 83 who discuss the surrounding nations (such as Palestinians) and perhaps Syria would show a war with the surrounding immediate neighbors; and the Gog/Magog the outer perimeter. Probably; the Gulf nations will have prosperity first for a time after Israel begins to expand their borders; and share the economic prosperity with other nations. The peace treaty ideas starting a few years back seems to have the beginnings of Daniel 9:27 and Daniel 11:39 "dividing the land for gain" with all the land and money brokering. It could all happen between the first and 2nd seal but it seems it will be before that.

For now; judgment begins with the House of God. ( 1 Peter 4:17). Keep the faith! Agape.

Zechariah 11:17 and Revelation 13:3 show the same thing; the Antichrist who is Satan's representative on earth. He will receive a deadly wound from a sword that will appear on the head as well as withering his right arm. The further representation however is that his authority will be destroyed completely with being chained up and sent to the bottomless pit; then later into hell itself after the Millennium period.

I thought I would get to Christ last to save the good news for last. Christ was wounded on his feet by the nails at Calvary; as well as his hands as shown in Psalm 22. The crucifixion completed the victory over sin; His redemption for the chosen ones (namely us); and was complete when He died and said "It is finished" ( John 19:30). Christ's body will continue to show the scars to his hands and feet ( John 20). He is the only one who has a glorified body; and since He didn't suffer decay and was resurrected as Psalm 16:10 and others indicate-these wounds are visible as reminders to us for all eternity the price He had to pay.

The infamous "Rahab the Harlot" tale. The origin of this person brings in mind Christ's statement in Matthew 21:31. Despite her past trade; this woman was given insight on how God was the true God of heaven and earth. (v. 11). Her reaction was to immediately ask for safety for her family and all that belonged to her. Obviously, the spies were grateful that their lives were spared. One could nitpick about the deception used to remove the men searching for them. It appears that others were aware of those going in and out her house; and the King was quickly informed-perhaps the strategic location and the great fear of invasion has something to do with their hypervigilance.

Anyway; she is written in Hebrews; as being in the "hall of faithful" in Hebrews 11. She was the great grandmother of David; and in Christ's lineage. The instructions given reminds us of those who escape wrath in other scriptures. She was to wait until they came; which did occur later. She wasted no time in identifying her house with the scarlet cord as instructed to be placed when they returned to invade.

Once again, she made them swear an oath (v. 12); and they agreed if she obeyed their stipulations and laid their lives on the line to bind it. (v.14) Ultimately; Christ said to make our yea yea and nay nay; and not to swear on anything ( Matthew 5:37). This would be in relation to things between people; not to eliminate covenants with God such as marriage.

Would it be that we all realize that we are unworthy servants; and take action when necessary when it is prudent to do so. This is one case where no prayer was needed in order to make a wise decision. She was given grace to see clearly what the Lord intended to do; and to be sensible enough to realize He is the true God who would continue to fight for His chosen people.

    Hello my sister.

Yes born and raised Catholic we were told what the Passover was about which I mention in my earlier statement. But you are right the Catholic through time made it more about the way of the cross.

But we did start it on Friday and it ends on Sunday.

As I started reading and studying the bible I realized that men changed the reason for Passover.

If I did not explain it to that tune I truly am sorry.

Thanks for your input. Have a Bless weekend my friend.

    Dear Chimdiebube

God is Life Itself. The ultimate kind of Life-eternal, self existing, not drawn from any other source but within Himself, never having had a beginning.

A being cannot exist without life, therefore, God in His essential Being is this Life. in Him is Life. All Life is derived from Him.

We often think of life as a force or breath or heartbeat, but with God, Life is a Person who is also Love and Truth and all of the other attributes we know about Him. So with God, Life is not impersonal or separate from Him. He exists because He is Life Itself.

You can google: Why Is God called Life and find out more.

  • Giannis - In Reply - 3 years ago
Both phrases mean the same thing. They both mean that our sins are forgiven through the sacrifice of our saviour Jesus Christ. We must always bare in mind that Jesus spoke Aramaic and Hebrew and the Gospel was written in Greek, having also in mind that ancient people spoke a bit different than we speak today, they spoke in a more or less poetic manner like philosophers. So some phrases that confuse people when reading the Bible in English translations may be perfectly clear when they are read, say by Greek or Jewish people.

Since the only people at the time were Adam, Eve, and Seth later , the only thing that sounds reasonable is that Cain's wife was either from Seth's line of generation or from the a line generation from other kids Adam and Eve had. Now you may ask, brothers got married to sisters? Yes that's right, it couldn't have been otherwise since all humans come from our two ancestors Adam and Eve.
