Hi David, returning to this once again, I think I read somewhere that all of the apostles/disciples were baptized in water prior to this moment in time where Jesus promised the Holy Spirit. That is why the apostles baptized new believers in water: that Jesus was baptized and the manifestation of the Father (voice) and Spirit (dove) were a visual teaching what those who are baptized receive; that they were baptized in water when they were called follow Jesus (Jesus baptized at the same time John did); and that Jesus commanded it in Matthew 28.

    Thanks David,

I always try to see things God's way, no matter what the circumstance, conversation, or my own thinking. I pray for Him to guard my mind and heart as I read and study Scripture, but also, in my day to day work and interactions with others.

David, thanks for the humor. I too enjoy some humor. I mean, how can someone who is already "on-fire" for the Lord burn?

    Thanks Rick,

    I'll look that up!

Hi, I am going back to Hebrews 10:26. This verse is set in the context of someone denying the gospel, so the willful sin here is a believer who apostasizes and continues in stubborn, persistent deliberate rejection of the gospel. If they do not repent and return to faith, they will not be saved in the end. In the mean time, the time period that they are in rejection of the gospel, having previously believed, they are unsaved until they repent, being returned to the same state as non-believers, in which there is no other way to have forgiveness of sins outside of Christ.

Later in this passage, Paul says: Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God (believing the gospel, you may receive the promise (salvation.)

For we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.

    Hebrews 10:35-37; 39

Paul is urging his congregants to persist in the faith, as some were known to have apostasized among the churches in those times.

Does the KJV Bible approve of women pastors?

Brother S Spencer, I don't know whether you believe the ELECT are going to judge the world. If we have that common ground, we can build from there. No one but the ELECT, as you say, go to heaven, everyone and everything else will happen ON EARTH, after the world, from adam forward, are raised back to earthly flesh.

And death an hell were cast into the lake of fire.

What is accomplished by hell being cast into hell.

But if the Greek word Hades had been translated GRAVE like it was in 1 Corinthians 15:55.

Now death and the grave are cast into the lake of fire. Which is the second death.

I do not believe that Peter lost is salvation in that willful sin. He repented wen Paul rebuked Him. That is what all believers are to do when we sin willful or unintentionally, repent and ask for forgiveness and strength to resist sinning like that again.
  • GiGi - In Reply - 4 years ago
    Rick,

I think that we have differing definitions of willful sin. I think Peter knew that it was wrong to avoid eating with Gentiles wen the Jews from Jerusalem came to investigate. I call that willful sin. He knew what was the right action (to eat with Gentiles) and chose not to do it.

Jesse This is my sense of humor do you know why the oil didn't burn our brother John, because he was already

spiritually Hot for the Lord LOL I've always had a unique sense of humor.

    David,

Thank you for your post on this subject.

The Word of God "washes" our minds and places His thinking patterns in our mind, renewing our thinking whenever we sin in our minds with wrong or erroneous thoughts that do not glorify God or help ourselves or others.

    LaTonya,

I pray wit you that God will meet your need in the best way according to His power and love!

    Grace,

Loved you testimony about how God moved that very real mountain! Thumbs up for "mustard seed faith"!

Thank you for sharing such a lovely happening in your life. It was interesting that you passed that mountain for six months before it began to be moved. Says a lot about persevering during times when "the mountain" is before us daily. It can be a source of despair or of hope. You had hope! Praise the Lord!

    Yes, Rick and Mishael,

Job is an amazing example of ow we can remain faithful to God in the worst of circumstances, because God is always faithful to us. Job went through horrendous, heart wrenching things that God allowed Satan to bring upon Him. His faith was tried and tested and it stood firm. But also, I am sure that his heart was made more pure by these experiences. I once ad this experience when I felt led for God to help me have a true and pure heart. Boy, after I prayed for this, I knew I would have trials, and I did! A while into this time, I went on a retreat by myself for a few days in a cabin. I prayed, read the word, ate my meals with a plate set for Jesus, and listened for God. During prayer one evening in that cabin, God gave me a vision of a heart that was chard as if BBQ'd. I asked, God, "What does this mean?" He said, "Look closer." So I got a close up look at the heart as if through a magnifying glass. The heart had black thumbprints all over it. I asked God, What does this mean?" God said to me, the thumbprints are the areas of your life were I have touched that area to try you, and in doing so, I burned my imprint into that area of your life to purify it.

This is what a tried and true heart looks like when it has been purified.

I'll never forget that vision and Word from the Lord. There were many painful trials during that time, lots of "Mommy tears", and stepping out in faith to say and do some things that were unusual and difficult for me (I had no desire to do these actions before God pressed hard on my shoulders to set me straight on the "way I was to go." God also confirmed His promptings, my meditations, words, with so many outside sources who did not know anything about what I was going through. I was blessed richly curing this time. I often thought about Job and wondered how God showed him how to get through his trials.

    Thank you, Spencer.

Your thinking makes so much sense. I do think that Bible aids like handbooks, commentaries, etc. are given to us by the Lord for use to understand His Word better. I think , that one person, thinking that they can learn all they need to know from just the Bible and to interpret it accurately neglects what God has taught other believers through the ages. I prefer to take a humble and appreciative approach and believe that there are so many people I can learn from, since we are all being taught by the same Spirit. However, sometimes, our own thinking gets in the way, and that is our Scripture gets twisted, rephrased to the point of changing the meaning of the text, interpreted in ways that lead to error and heresy. None of us is so spiritual that this is not a possibility. So, thanks for your wisdom and for sharing it!

Yes, that is what I read about John. I think my source said he died about 98 A.D.

Also, before his exile, John planted many church congregations in Asia Minor. (Smyrna was one) He appointed bishops (overseers) in each church, laying hands on them to anoint them for service to that congregation. He appointed Polycarp over Smyrna, and Ignatiaus over Antioch. There were others. I just can't recall all of them. These two bishops where martyred, but we have some of their writings preserved to read. These bishops had direct relationships with the apostles, carrying on their teachings and practices for the next generation of believers in that early 1st century.

Amazing that John lived such a long time. That was probably unusual in those times due to persecution, martyrdom, and the harshness of life in those times.

Jesse It puts a whole different perspective on let Go and let God too many people try to work with God its backwards

He's already done all the work our Job or labor is in the mind Just believe your Complete in Christ. We will never

comprehend the magnitude of what we have been given, but its a lot of joy to walk in.

Hi Earl You said the eyes of man can't see words of spirit and yet jesus Christ walked and healed by words of spirit

and people watched the display of the power of spirit with there eyes. This is because Gods spoken words deliver his

His Life giving power to those who believe.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Revelation 1 - 4 years ago
    Godwin,

John was the only original apostle to not die a martyr's death. All the other original apostles were put to death in a very severe way. What is interesting is that tradition says that around 86 A.D., they tried to execute John by dipping him in burning oil. And after they pulled him out, nothing was wrong with him. And they figured that they couldn't kill him, so they decided to exile him off onto the island of Patmos.

According to the early church fathers, John was sent out onto the island with a group of criminals. That's where they sent the criminals. And they worked hard labor. They worked in the mines over on the island of Patmos. Please keep in mind that John is in his early 90's when he was sent off to this island. And his illegal activity was that he was a Christian, because Christianity was an illegal religion. And since he was the last remaining original apostle, they really wanted to get him out of the way.

Many don't realize that he was there for 10 years on this island. He didn't just take a ferry over and sit on the island and say "I don't know why God has me here, but maybe I'll get some kind of revelation."

And that's really not what he was there for. He was sent there as a criminal, under the leadership of Domitian. He sent him over around 86 A.D. And it was not until Domitian died that the Christians asked Nerva if they could have John released and brought back, because after all, he's old and about ready to die. And so they brought him back over around 96 A.D.

And historical documents tell us that John died at about 99 years old. So just a few years after being brought back over to the mainland, he went to be with the Lord.

    Hello David,

I think that's a great analogy. I'm looking at three separate commands in Ephesians Chapter 6. The first command is in verse Ephesians 6:10 which says "be strong in the Lord." The second command is in Ephesians 6:11 which says "put on the whole armor of God." This is written in aorist tense which means do it one time. So we are to put on the whole armor of God once.

The purpose: that we may be able to "stand" against the wiles of the devil." The word wiles is the word "METHODIA" which means methods or schemes. And notice that all of this is to cause us to stand. We're not to fight, but to stand. Why? Because our position is in Christ at the right hand of the throne of God in the spirit realm. What do we have to fight Satan for? He's already been defeated.

And then the third command in verse 13 says "Wherefore take unto you (Aorist tense), the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand (Resist), in the evil day, and having done all (That is, after everything has been worked out), to stand. In other words, once the dust settles, you're still standing. So we are to stand, not fight.

So your analogy makes a lot of sense. We're standing still, stuck in a block of concrete. Nothing is going to move us. We've already put on the whole armor of God. That armor never comes off. We're not to fight, but stand. That's what we are commanded to do.

    Thanks for sharing that!

Hello Grace This is a very good question because the word used for poor[ptochos]means tremble and yet the scriptures

given are more tied into the needy or humility or both. In Mathew 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit for they shall see

God sounds more like tremble in humility and yet there are at least 12 scripture where poor in wealth is the case.

James 2:5+6 Appears to point out the bad treatment of believers by believers poor tremble in humility to God by people high minded and lofty and financially well off who are not walking and treating other believers appropriately.

Thanks and very good question needs more input. God bless Grace

    Earl.

The verses you have given doesn't settle the question. Where's the scripture where everyone goes to heaven, Some with glorified bodies Some with early bodies?

Who's those left without the Gate in Revelation 22:15. ?

    The resurrection has already past.

And Who is the unjust that will remain in Revelation 22:11. ?

    The Resurrection has already past.

Here's the Redeemed. As well as the verses you have given.

    " Revelation 20:4-6. "...

..6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: ON SUCH THE SECOND DEATH HATH NO POWER, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Here's the Lost. "Twice Dead "

Revelation 20:11-14. And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH.

You know for a person that once said that one can't just read the scripture for truth or Bible dictionaries ect.. You sure post a lot of Scripture.

WHO'S THOSE LEFT WITHOUT THE GATE AND REMAIN UNJUST After the Resurrection and Judgements?

    Amen Brother Alex:

He came to bring FIRE on the earth.

My WORDS are SPIRIT and LIFE; therefore, if we have life by Spirit, the FIRE; also, is Spirit.

May Spirit grace us with eyes to SEE: eyes of flesh can not see words of Spirit.

    Brother S Spencer:

Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are they (the ELECT). They have become Son's of God, to judge the earth.

For WITHOUT are those raised back in the flesh to be judged.

This judgement is happening on earth after the second resurrection (Could take a thousand years or more, this is hinted at in the prophets).

Revelation 5:10 And hath made us unto our God kings and priest to REIGN ON EARTH.

Revelation 2:26 An he that overcometh, and keepeth MY WORKS unto the end, will I GIVE POWER over the nations: (that are raised back to earthy flesh to be judged)

Revelation 2:27 And he shall rule (JUDGE) them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter they shall be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father ( Psalms 2:8-10).

Obadiah 1:18 And the house of Jacob shall be (lake of) A FIRE, and the the house of Joseph A FLAME ( Luke 16:24), and the house of Esau as STUBBLE, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.

Obadiah 1:21 And SAVIOURS (Christ and his brothers the SON'S OF GOD) shall come upon mount Zion to JUDGE the house of Esau, and the Kingdom (ON EARTH) shall be the LORD'S.

    Jeremiah 51:19-23

Only the elect will have a glorified body at this time, all other will still have earthly bodies.

Those who choose to believe, As for as I'm concerned you are correct Job is an example of the Goodness of the true God and death and destruction of the enemy, steal kill and destroy.
  • Rick - 4 years ago
Earl What you state defies scripture, I do believe Gods Word says to love your enemies Romans12:17-21, especially

21 be not overcome with evil but overcome evil with good. In luke22:Peter cut off the servant of the High priests ear and

Jesus Christ healed it. Our walk is to love with the love of God Agapeo, I don't Love God out fear of going to hell

I have awe and respect for a merciful tender loving patient and long suffering father who knows all my shortcomings

and overlooks them because I believe. There are two types of fear, first one not Good equals terror that's for unbelievers

who defy ,the other one absolute respect and awe and admiration to do our best for his highest knowing without Him were

nothing. God is all love its where our minds are concerning Him that makes a difference in our walk.

I have no fear [terror]of my Daddy and that is how I think of Him because that is how much he's done for me

and anyone else who simply believes that the only thing he wants for us is the best that's why he Gave His Best His only Begotten son. God Bless

Hiya Bro. EARL Sorry for such a late reply. But i love ya . Keep up the good work. Remember Our God is a Consuming fire. Malachi 3 : 1 kjv Who shall abide the day of his coming ( THE 2 ND COMING ) For he shall be as a refiners fire and fullers soap, like you said he will destroy us ( anything not of faith ) and make us clean with the good seed the living word the contents of the Book. As our God is a consuming fire ( baptism of the H.G. and fire )

Remember Jesus said he came to bring FIRE on the earth and thats what we ALL need , His baptism of fire and the H.G. Judgement. And Jeremiah 1 speaks of a Man Child which is the Child of Promise the H.G. that is gonna judge this whole world ( his battle Ax ) And destroy Nations and Kingdoms . Jesus said when he the spirit of truth is come he will Reprove the world of sin and judgement and righteousness. His Kingdom is soon coming ; In the volume of the BOOK it is written of Me i delight to do thy will O God , After the woman births the Child it said Now is come salvation and the KiNGDOM OF OUR GOD ETC . REV : 12 : 10 KJV... And Gods will has been done simply b/c the Kingdom has come with the Birth of the Child which is the Child of Promise the H.G. The multiplcation of Christ in humanity. That great Promise.

Jeremiah himself neva did destroy Kingdoms and nations, It was just Prophetic that the manchild which is the H.G. the Child of PROMISE, The spirit of truth is gonna destroy everthing not of faith . The horse and his rider , the young man and the maid , the farmer and his yoke of oxen etc etc.
