    Jack,

To have a good understanding of 1 Corinthians 13:10, it would have to be taken together with verses 11, 12, and 13. I can share with you what is being taught here if you're willing to bear with me as it might take two or three parts.

You see, there's two phases here.

Whatever is now is in part. Knowledge is in part. Prophecy is in part. And tongues is in part.

But there's going to come a time when that which is perfect is come, and everything else is going to be done away.

Now some people say that which is perfect was the scriptures, that once the bible was finalized, we call it canonized, and the stamp of authority put on it by the early church, that when that happened, we no longer need prophecies and tongues and knowledge.

Other people say that it has to do with the coming of Christ.

But the Greek word for that which is perfect is TOTELEION. It is never used in the bible for the coming of Christ.

Some people say that it means Christ Himself. Certainly He is perfect, but TOTELEION is not used for Jesus Christ either.

Interesting that it is neuter in the Greek text. It is never used for the coming of Christ. It's never used for Christ. It's never made in reference to the bible. That's just a personal belief.

But TOTELEION, the word TELEION is the word in the scriptures that represents maturity, perfectness!

If you would like for me to explain how all this works using the last three verses, I would be happy to do so if you are willing to read a longer post!

    Hi Earl,

I disagree with your interpretation of course. Do you have other Bible verses to support your idea, because it seems like cherrypicking a few to try to make them into something they don't mean. Do you have kids? Let's say you have a son and you interact in his life- does that automatically mean he has no choices at all? Does that mean he's a total puppet with total subjection to your will? Or do you agree that it's possible for your son to still have freewill while you participate in raising him and being in his life?

It sounds like you're assuming by these 2 verses that you cited that God is an all or nothing type thing. That he either must 100% control every aspect of your life so you are just a robot, or nothing at all. And I ask: why do you assume that? Just as a parent isn't a 100% or 0% interaction, why assume God is that way. Yes, He can work in your life, especially if you seek Him and pray, but under no circumstance does he rob you of the gift of freewill which he's already given you. I've actually never met anyone who believed in that before, so it's quite perplexing on how this idea even came about, because I don't see any Bible verses supporting it.

For instance: Joshua 24:15 - when it says for us to 'choose' this day whom you will serve, do you think it instead means

that God chose for you? Do you believe you have any choices at all in life? Like do you have a choice to respond to me? Do you get to choose what clothes to wear or what to eat for lunch? I have that choice and I chose to follow Jesus out of my own freewill, so do some people like you not have that freewill, or how do you explain that?

    God bless...

Hi Jack 1 Corinthians 13:10 -12 When that which is perfect is come is speaking in reference when christ

who is perfect comes back for His body the church which will be made perfect in resurrected bodies.

The key is face to face when we meet him in the air but for now we have the assuratey of

the spirit in us or the earnest or the token we are born again and awaiting the return then face to face then

we are going to know even as we are now known. Verse 13 Given all the things shared from the chapter the

greatest is charity agapeo[the Love of God in the Renewed mind in Manifestation.

Thank you for this explanation of parables. Jesus taught in ways for the people following Him to understand about Him, is Father, and their kingdom through stories that the people could connect what they knew about their life in those times to the spiritual principle Jesus was alluding to in the parable.

Thank you, Mishael. Good advice. I will take it under prayerful consideration. We love everyone on this site. But not that is posted is sound doctrine. Yet, it probably isn't good to let what one sees as error stand without a response that speaks what is correct doctrine.

You may find instances of the Israelites having "parades" after they had victories in battles. Or, in the case of Jericho, before.

Santa is a drawn from a depiction of the the Germanic/Norse god Odin, who rode around in a sleigh pulled by reindeer, dressed much like a typical Santa depiction.

St. Nicholas was a genuine Christian; a bishop in Asia Minor, who was known for caring for the poor and needy.

You could say that the Big Bang had a cause outside of itself. It did not cause its own event. That is why I believe that the cause of the Big Bang was God who existed without time, matter, and other physical elements such as force, heat, light, gravity, etc.

Yes, you will be forgiven every time you sin when you confess it to God.

Yes, some of Canaan's descendants migrated to Africa, but some settled in the land that God later promised to Abraham.

Some of his descendants stayed in the Mesopotamian alluvial plains. Some also migrated into the areas around the Mediterranean Sea. So all of Canaan's descendants are not necessarily of negro genetics.

I do not believe that Paul's gospel of grace was different from the gospel that the other apostles taught, since both were given it by Jesus-Paul while in the desert for a few years following his conversion, and the apostles received it from Jesus between the resurrection and the ascension.

Kari P.S. Just food for thought no place does it say for you to hate it says they will hate you, that's a big

difference unless I'm reading wrong. God Bless
  • Rick - In Reply on Matthew 10 - 4 years ago
Hi Kari Another point of view because they if their not born again won't and can't understand your

change devotion to what you consider now important, its not that I hate people who don't know or

don't believe its just that our commitment is to God first and foremost. We cannot serve God and mammon.

They may hate us but we walk in love of God towards them. That is the witness the change that what we

got captivated to at one time means nothing compared to our commitment to Christ. P.S. In addition to

what was already shared. God Bless

    David,

You are now going into scripture that has no meaning to this topic, and with the connotation of your posts, I humbly say we have come to a place to lovingly end the discussion; we do disagree on the rapture of the Church and being carried to heaven. All I did was point to a scripture you may study concerning the 70th week that is placed in this theory or doctrine that you may look at to study for the truth, if you are confident in this teaching with no need to study that is your choice.

The body of Christ started in Acts 2:38 on the day of Pentecost that's when the church was established

Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom, Peter got the revelation of who Jesus was, we are built upon the foundation of the Apostles and Prophets Jesus Christ himself the Chief Cornerstone, Paul gospel had to be the same gospel that Peter preached, because Peter had the keys to the kingdom, Paul baptized in the name of Jesus Christ just like Peter baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, there's only one baptism that's in the name of Jesus, not the titles Father Son and Holy Ghost.

    Kari,

I would like to share with you my perspective from a biblical Greek study on this word hate. In Luke 14:26, it says " If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."

First of all let me tell you what the word hate means. This word is MISEO. It is not the word for hostile or hatred as we know it in English. It is a word of comparison. When MISEO is used with any of the words that have to do with love, it is showing comparison.

In other words, Jesus is saying you must love me so much that the comparison between me and anybody else, or anything else, it makes it look like you hate them. You really don't, but that's what it looks like. It can't even be close!

Jesus is not talking about walking away from our families. He's talking about cutting the emotional ties, not cutting the relationship. We need to understand that. In our society, there's a big play on the social interaction with friends and relatives. Jesus didn't say you couldn't have family. Jesus didn't say that you have to stop your relationship with family members. That is not what He is saying.

He is saying that when it comes to choice and service, and what to do with your life, basically it's a no-brainer. It is Jesus. Family members that don't know Jesus aren't going to understand that. But do you know what they are going to understand? They are going to see and understand that Jesus means more to you than anything or anybody else in the world.

So this is the teaching of Jesus, you must hate. That is, love everybody much less then you love me. It can't even be close. No question about it. You love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself, and that's a Hebraism for you are going to love your neighbor according to how you love the Lord.

I want to know if you sin and asked for forgiveness but after you did the same sin again knowing your promise that you made and that you chose to do sin the same sin again will you be forgiven

Tammy This is easier than you might think, it is a theory not proven, the top scientific brains have admitted

there is a superior intelligence behind the universe but don't believe they will say God they may say a being

but they won't say God and yet the same people will celebrate the birth of Christ. Just proof that we put screen

doors in submarines mentally. Have fun God will show you what to say.

Ronald Keep something in mind which makes a difference in understanding certain things, Jesus Christ

initial ministry was to the lost sheep of the house of Israel so a lot of things he taught were addressing

them I'm not saying that what he shared did not apply at all to us some does and some doesn't. When it

comes to Gods Word I'm careful to whom is something written to, it does make a difference. He came to

fulfill the law which in practice ended at the cross because Christ put an end to the curse of the law.

Day of pentecost started the Age of grace which walking again by the spirit 24/7 we complete the law

because walking by the spirit fulfills all the law. But again its your privilege to believe what you will.

Jesus said outta of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou has perfected Praise , thats y the new birth is so important

We are gonna birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. the Child of Promise , Which is our new innerman that Praises God

Perfectly , In spirit and truth, Our old adamic nature is too defiled with materialistic things , Thus he don't really want our adamic praise. its simply too tainted with our sin nature. Thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN, ,MANKIND needs to birth a Baby Christ that Child of Promise . Thats y he is saying unless you receive the Kingdom of GOD AS A LIL Child you will in no wise enter there in. She brought forth a manChild that is gonna rule all nations.

Hi Ronald Its interesting that if you disagree with some ones understanding or interpretation in one area your

judged but in a different area they agree and your great so I take what you said with a grain of salt. I have not

found two people on this site that agreed on all fields of scripture because either the theologians they learned

from or books they read also differ on same subject matter. As I stated before simply Christ came 1st Time birth

ministry death resurrection right hand Gods throne. 2nd time the gathering Together 2 Thess. 2:1 then 7-12 ,

those who believed not the truth will be left we the saints who believed the Body of Christ will be gathered

together Christ will not touch down then in the appearing which is what revelation was called first after other

events take place Christ comes back with us His body I.E. Jews and Gentiles the Mystery same spiritual body

and the telos or the very end will be near. P.S. I saw all your Time frames and referenced verses and like I'll

state to anyone its your privilege to believe what you will, and mine also no judgement from me.
