First, this you quoted is an Old Testament verse; Jesus hadn't died for anybody's sins yet; And no one was born again.

Luke 12:10 "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

whether a person blasphemes the Holy Ghost or not, they are headed for hell. for they are all condemned. John 3:18 "He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." So it's not as easy as just finding a verse like that and wrongfully applying it, You must put in the Age of Grace, or it is taken out of context.

Simple logic: If the Spirit can not die, Why did Jesus say Ye must be born again of the Spirit of God. John 3:3-7 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." The capitol "S" is the spirit of God.

    Hello Vince,

I have only posted once in this thread in reply to what Darrin stated. There was no selfishness in my post at all and if you felt that I apologize. What you state that "I think to be saved is by works of obedience" and that I am "forgetting" about those certain things you posted is false and wrong. You don't know me as I don't know you. Then you bring up people with a disability of their mind? They have a disabilty.. how can you perceive them with people who do not have that disability and may call good evil and evil good?

I do not come to this site to argue or quarrel. Again I apologize if anything I wrote hurt your feelings by you taking it the wrong way.

    God Bless you.

"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart TO LIE TO THE HOLY GHOST, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? THOU HAST NOT LIED UNTO MEN, BUT UNTO GOD." People can ask all kinds of 'what if' questions, but it doesn't imply anything. There's a lot we don't know and never will. But what we know is that God is loving and fair and He will judge everyone fairly. He knows who has and hasn't heard the gospel. Obviously babies/children who die young, or natives on remove islands who never heard about Jesus aren't going to be punished for something they never heard or understood. But He knows who has heard the truth, but rejected it. He knows the ones who call themselves Christians, but still reject obeying Him and instead follow evil while claiming to be 'saved'. God is fair. He knows all. The Bible already says most people will go to hell- wide is the gate leading there and narrow is the gate leading to heaven with God. God loves us enough to give total freedom of choice and freewill. He won't force anyone to spend eternity with Him if they don't want to.

In the beginning God created heaven and the earth.

2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

6And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

8And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second days.

9And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

10And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.

11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

13And the evening and the morning were the third days.

14And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

15And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

16And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

18And to rule over the d

    Richard in Christ,

The Bible warns of a second death, but no one is said to be in the lake of fire but the 3 evil Spirits. Eradicating these 3 Spirits, with the grace of God, will end sin forever.

What happens to the 5.6 billion people of the 7.6 billion total population who are not Christ followers, to include 2 billion Muslims, Jews and others that didn't know Jesus. Are they sent away, killed, or abandoned by God? No, the ones that didn't die in Christ are part of the second resurrection. God is the God of everyone, not just Christians. This is why everyone is forgiven of their sin, thanks to Jesus.

    Hi Charles,

Those are excellent verses you listed, but they don't prove that once saved, always saved. The only verse someone needs to see to refute that is: Luke 12:10. It says if anyone (including Christians) commits blasphemy of the holy ghost they won't be forgiven. You are welcome to read my other post for more scripture, but all someone needs to see is that one verse to see that someone can be a Christian then still has the freewill to do the opposite and not be saved. God bless...
  • Adam - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 5 years ago
First, we aren't actually saved until judgement day. Some say we're 'saved' when we 'accept' Jesus Christ into our heart, but no where in the Bible does it say that. What it actually says is to be a Christian is this: Link

A Christian is a Christ follower- it means we are actively following Christ. If we genuinely do that the Bible says our sins will be covered by Jesus's sacrifice and grace. However, just because we become a Christian doesn't mean we're stripped of freewill and become robots- we still have full ability to choose good or evil, to sin or not sin, and we're still tempted by satan. Therefore, some people slip up occasionally and sin, but still genuinely try to follow Christ, however, some do stop, turn and follow satan and follow the evil of the world. That person is not saved and they are technically not acting like a Christian anymore.

Those who claim once saved always saved always fail to explain one simple indisputable verse: Luke 12:10. Jesus tells his followers (Christians) that if they commit blashphemy of the holy ghost they will not be saved. Hebrews 10:26 is another indisputable verse that was talking to Christians, saying that Christianity isn't a license to sin, or a get out of jail free card. Non-Christians who haven't received the knowledge of the truth as it says have ignorance as an excuse and doesn't apply to them.

    Here's anther: Hebrews 6:4 - 6:6 and another: Matthew 7:21 - 7:23

The Bible speaks for itself. Only would have to cherry pick around all these 100% clear verses in order to come up with the opposite conclusion.

Satan is behind all lies and he's a great deceiver, so which is more likely: that he's deceiving people to fear God and obey Him more than they need to? Or, is it more likely satan is deceiving people into believing they're saved and it's ok to sin and follow the world?

    God bless...

Yes, Spirit, and Image are not the same. The Image is the Body, Soul, and the Spirit. The Spirit is the part that died when Adam sinned, that is why the Lord Jesus Christ said, John 3:7 "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." And to be born again in this age, you must go to the Apostle to the Gentiles; which is Paul. Paul's Gospel says: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" Paul says, 1 Corinthians 15:1-2 "Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain."

No, it doesn't say trumpet, it say "trump"; that makes a world of difference. The trumpet sounds, one of those sounds is called a trump. Has nothing to do with the seven trumpet in the book of revelation. READ IT MORE SLOWELY.

You are correct on the title of Christ, so I'll say Jesus set the example of being born again after death. This is how the dead rise in Christ to everlasting life.

To me "born again" is having the capabilities and mind of Christ. Having the Holy Spirit upon you, like the disciples, is one thing, but being permanently free from sin is another. The 11 disciples were sinners who enjoyed the Holy Spirit. They didn't stop sinning as I would come to expect after they succumb to a mortal death, then resurrected into everlasting life.

David was saying that when he opened his mouth, whether to speak or to sing, that praises to the LORD would come out:

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth. ( Psalm 57:7-11)

But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble. ( Psalm 59:16)

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. ( Psalm 105:2)

No, born again means your spirit was dead, and you were born again of the Spirit of God. and you won't be like Christ until after the Rapture when you will have become incorruptible, and put on immortality. 1 Corinthians 15:53 "For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality." Then, Philippians 3:21 "Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Then we shall be like Jesus Christ the Lord.

2 Thessalonians 2:13-14 "But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ."

Did you notice, you were chosen from the beginning, but you were called by Paul's Gospel? what Gospel were you called by?
