Good for you! A worthy goal. And I'll just second Richards starting book, John.
Regarding Greek words, get a Strings Concordance. It's as big as a dictionary. I have had this volume for decades for reference. More recently I've been using an the eSword app on my iPad, iPhone and desktop. It is FREE. As I recall, it comes loaded with the King James version and you can download Strongs for KJV. Strongs contains dictionary-like pronunciation guides and phonetic spelling of the Greek. Many other translations are available to download.
Thank you yes I have turned to Jesus and God and repented for my sins. I however have autism which causes me great anxiety and wanting to do things right of that makes sense. I have looked for bible studies online and have found one which should help me.
No by that I mean that I mean I have repented for my sins and that I believe in God and his son Jesus Christ and that I believe Jesus died for our sins etc. Yes I'm also going to be following the 10 commandments. I have autism so my main thing is anxiety of getting things wrong as I want to live right by God
Jesus Christ is your peace. The peace that the bible speaks of is not an emotional feeling we have. Peace is a person, and that person is Christ. What you are describing makes perfect sense. When we receive Christ, we do become a new creation in Him.
Once we are saved, Satan knows he has lost us forever to Christ. He can't take our salvation away. So what does he do now? He occupies the attention of our mind (MERIMNA) to keep us distracted and away from the things of the Lord so that there will be no spiritual growth. He cannot take us away from Christ so he attacks us and tries to keep our minds occupied and distracted on the things of this world in order to keep us from the things of the Lord.
We're saved, but Satan does everything in his power to hinder our growth process, because that is the next step after salvation, to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Satan cannot touch our spirit because, in order to do that, he would have to penetrate God's Spirit that lives in us, and he can't do that.
Even though we become a new creation in Christ, all the scars from our previous life, our life before coming to know the Lord, remain stuck in the cortex of our brain. And at times those things pop up and cause us to sometimes even question our salvation.
My dear brother, please know that you have perfect peace in Christ Jesus!
In my opinion I would lead a student to read the book of John first. As this is my favorite of the four accounts of the Lords life and very unique to the other three. As all of the four books are unique, Matthew, Mark and Luke are close but have their own details. So it is good to read all. I would have them read John first then Matthew and then Mark & Luke.
Of coarse this is my personal opinion. Maybe others would like to share what they feel with other details. All for the Glory of the Lord.
God Bless and thank you for teaching children about the Lord.
"Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, EIGHT SOULS were saved by water." 1Pe 3:20
Noah, his three sons and each of their wives: EIGHT SOULS. No "Kenites!" Genesis 6:19 is not referring to humans. You forgot to include the next verse.
Yes, Noah was uncorrupted in his genealogy, which is why the rest of mankind was destroyed in the flood.
There is one race, humans, where skin shade and other features were built into the our DNA. The "races" resulted from the separation of people groups by language and subsequent migration at Babel in Genesis 11, in order to force mankind to "fill the earth." I'm not tying any particular "race" to Canaan.
Indeed we are taught by God's Spirit. Thanks for sharing John 2:27. One word that stands out to me in that verse is the word abideth/abide, MENO in the original language. MENO is a word that denotes permanency, God's Spirit permanently abiding in us and us in Him. I agree that He is our teacher.
You and I have a different understanding of Revelation 12:14 on who this woman is and the other symbolisms in that verse, but that's okay. I know there are different theories as to who this woman is. One group says this woman is Mary Baker Eddy, which I totally disagree with!
Hebrews 13:1

When some people say that they have turned their life to God, they mean that they are trying to do better, go to church more often, give more to charities to help poor people, read their Bible more, stop smoking, stop getting drunk, stop getting angry with people, etc.
Those attempts have some merit, but that's NOT how you turn your life to God.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Rom 3:23
We do and if a we are honest with ourselves and with God, we realize that we fall far short of Perfection.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 6:23
Sometimes we realize that our situation is dire, but if we die without Christ, it will be eternal living death. But because The Son of God became a man, suffered and died for your sins and mine, God offers a free gift to those who will turn from their sinful ways and put their trust in Jesus.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Eph 2:8-10
God offers us grace if we have trust in God through Jesus Christ's death, burial and resurrection, by granting us salvation as a free gift that we don't have to work for. But what should happen when a person places that kind of active trust in God is that they will demonstrate a life of good works that results from God woking in them both to want to and to actually do things that please God.
Baptism is not a requirement for salvation. It is something that you ought to do when the time comes and it may come sooner than you think. If, God forbid, you get hit by a car and die before you're baptized, if you are trusting Jesus, you'll be with Him in heaven.
2 In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die: and their departure is taken for misery,
3 And their going from us to be utter destruction: but they are in peace.
4 For though they be punished in the sight of men, yet is their hope full of immortality.
5 And having been a little chastised, they shall be greatly rewarded: for God proved them, and found them worthy for himself.
6 As gold in the furnace hath he tried them, and received them as a burnt offering.
7 And in the time of their visitation they shall shine, and run to and fro like sparks among the stubble.
8 They shall judge the nations, and have dominion over the people, and their Lord shall reign for ever.
9 They that put their trust in Him shall understand the truth: and such as be faithful in love shall abide with him: for grace and mercy is to his saints, and he hath care for his elect.
10 But the ungodly shall be punished according to their own imaginations, which have neglected the righteous, and forsaken the Lord.
As many do not read the Apocrypha books, as they are not included anymore in the KJV Bible, there is much wisdom and truth in them. I just want to post a couple verses for you all I was reading the other night. I am very thankful we have access to them on this site for us to go through.
Wisdom of Solomon 1:1-7 Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth: think of the Lord with a good (heart,) and in simplicity of heart seek him.
2 For he will be found of them that tempt him not; and sheweth himself unto such as do not distrust him.
3 For froward thoughts separate from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise.
4 For into a malicious soul wisdom shall not enter; nor dwell in the body that is subject unto sin.
5 For the Holy Spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and remove from thoughts that are without understanding, and will not abide when unrighteousness cometh in.
6 For wisdom is a loving spirit; and will not acquit a blasphemer of his words: for God is witness of his reins, and a true beholder of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue.
7 For the Spirit of the Lord filleth the world: and that which containeth all things hath knowledge of the voice.
Wisdom of Solomon 1:11 Therefore beware of murmuring, which is unprofitable; and refrain your tongue from backbiting: for there is no word so secret, that shall go for nought: and the mouth that belieth slayeth the soul.
Wisdom of Solomon 1:22-24 As for the mysteries of God, they knew them not: neither hoped they for the wages of righteousness, nor discerned a reward for blameless souls.
23 For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity.
24 Nevertheless through envy of the devil came death into the world: and they that do hold of his side do find it.
I can only assume from your post that you have received Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior. If that is the case, then you have been baptized with God's Spirit. The baptism you are speaking of is water baptism. That does not save you. Being baptized by the Holy Spirit happens the moment you receive Christ. That is His ministry.
In Mark 1:8, John says I indeed have baptized you with water: but He (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, the Holy Spirit.
This is one of the great verses in the bible. John is saying all I do is baptize with water. That is it. That is a tool. I have a message, but I don't baptize with the Holy Spirit, He does, the Messiah does!
Let me share with you this important information about the Lord's ministry:
The baptism of the Holy Spirit is the Lord's ministry. That is what He does. It is not an afterthought. And it's not somewhere down the road. When you are touched by, and saved by the Spirit of God, you are baptized in the Holy Spirit.
That is a Jewish term. So we have to understand it from a Jewish standpoint.
Paul himself said in first Corinthians Chapter 12 Verse 13, "For by one spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free, and have been all made to drink into one Spirit"
When you are baptized by the Holy Spirit, you are brought into the body of Christ. You are saved! When a person gets baptized in the Spirit, it represents the fact that the coming of God's Spirit into their spirit has cleansed them. You are clean. In your spirit, you are perfectly clean, because that's where Jesus dwells!
Water baptism can take place later on down the line. It does not impact your salvation at all. If you've received Christ, He has already baptized you with the baptism that has saved you!
As far as bible study, you can do that at home until places of worship and fellowship open back up.
Thank you for your return answer.
Im glad you are doing better, I agree with you people can become obsessed with their views especially in the area of the end times, they shape their entire theology around their views and care about nothing else, deceiving themselves and whoever will lend an ear.
That's why you never hear from them about SALVATION, Instead you hear things from them like ""America will be thrown in the lake of fire and they can't wait to see it"" That's hatred!! And contuary to God.
2 Peter 3:9 (KJV) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
I know the WHOLE world will come under judgment one day but to be obsessed on one nation and to take pleasure in it is not Christ like.
When I speak on these things I take it to the proud and haughty in all nations because the Lord do, but I preach a way of escape through the Gospel as we are commissioned to do and as the Lord do.
God bless
God Bless our meditations in this matter. God bless our increase in this matter.
In Jesus name. Amen.
Anyone can do this game to twist things and manipulate and deceive people into believing there's meaning there when there isn't. Do I believe you have anything to do with 666? No, I only did that to open your eyes and see you can use numbers to deceive. I could have just as easily made it seem like 555 or 777. So, I think throwing random numbers around to try to invent false conclusions and draw meaning that isn't there I believe is dangerous, especially with the Bible. I believe you already know this, though.
Give me any event you are curious about, and I'll show you the devil in the details.
