    Hello, Donna.

I believe the Bible is truth and therefore cannot contradict itself. It may be difficult to fully understand at times but that falls on us as the reader or believer. God doesn't ask us to understand but to trust Him.

I agree with Adam; much of what God has done is not mentioned in the Bible. I wish that I could I could provide verses about this but it is mentioned that there are many things we do not know.

As for being made in His image, I believe that man was created in His spiritual image. God has feelings and so do we. God is creative and so are we, etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello S Spencer,

Regarding Hebrews 6:13-19, I would direct your attention specifically to verse 15.

Hebrews 6:15 "And so, AFTER HE HAD PATIENTLY ENDURED, he obtained the promise."

    Compare that with Hebrews 6:12.

Hebrews 6:12 "That ye be not slothful, but followers of them WHO THROUGH FAITH AND PATIENCE inherit the promises."

James 2:21 "Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?"

What would have happened had Abraham developed a wicked heart and refused to obey God? What if Abraham had cursed God and returned to his original place of residence - the land of Ur? Would he have inherited the promises?

What happened to Israel when they became bad? Did they inherit the promised land? Were they (that generation) not all destroyed in the desert and did not enter the promised land?

Hebrews 3:10-11 "Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest."

Jude 1:5 "I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having SAVED the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward DESTROYED them that believed not."

1 Corinthians 10:5 "But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness."

God's promises are certain. They will never fail. They are, in fact, like an anchor. So we can absolutely trust God. However, for us to benefit from those promises, we must exercise faith in God - unwavering trust in obeying God and all that he asks of us.

James 2:26 "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD also."

2 Peter 1:10-11 "Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election SURE: for IF ye do these things, ye shall never fall: For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    Good day.

    Hello Michael,

I totally understand your prospective, but lets think for a min. Did Paul and the other

Apostles contradict what Christ himself came to tell us? Christ said: ( Matthew 5:17) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. So I ask you, has the Heaven and Earth passed away? not at all. So, Here is Christ, himself telling you that the Law is not fulfilled or the Prophets. He also told us to keep his commandments, am I right?

( John 15:10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Here is Christ giving you a definition of what the Love of the Father is, it's keeping his commandments.

( 1 John 5:3) For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

( 1 John 5:2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

( John 14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.

I can go on and on, The Commandments are a must, it's not an opinion of the Disciples, it's the Doctrine of Christ. The Churches have lied to us when they say we don't have to keep the commandments.

Now, you say once saved, a person must keep himself in God's Love, I showed you what God's love is, Keeping the Commandments but you have twisted that as well. ( Matthew 24:13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. This means that you are not saved until the end, meaning if you die now or when Christ returns. The scriptures are self evident, they need no interpretation from man.

The Creator gave us a road map and free will, Choose wisely but I beg anyone reading this, don't let the Church do your work, Christ gave you Books, read them and pray for understanding, The Spirit will guide you into all Truth!

The Criteria for being an apostle was to have seen the resurrected Christ ( Acts 1:22)

Apostles and Prophets are the foundation of the church and Christ the Chief Cornerstone

    ( Eph. 2:20)

There are no more Apostles and Prophets they are the foundation.

The foundation of the church is The Word of God.

Old testament Prophets wrote most of the Old Testament, the Apostles wrote most of the New Testament, except Jude a servant, Hebrews writer unknown.

Apostles and Prophets were chosen by God for a special purpose, the Apostles were given power and authority to do the will of God.

Any one claiming to be either a prophet or an apostle in this dispensation of the church would have to be considered FALSE.

This is what brings "UNITY of the Faith"

This is what keeps you from being tossed about by every wind of doctrine.

    Evangelists, pastors and teachers.

Lastly if Apostles and Prophets were relevant in this era, Paul would have told Timothy to ordain them instead of elders. But Paul knew Ecc 3:1 "There is a season for everything under the sun" and he knew the season for apostles ended with him 1Cor 15

Brother Stan, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding. Most of the Psalms are prophecies pointing to the NEW COVENANT. Christ already knows the END. He knows because HE SPOKE THE WORDS before the foundation of the world. They are coming to fruition at HIS APPOINTED TIME. (his works)

    Ecclesiastes 3:1-9

Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do ENTER INTO (SABBATH) REST, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into MY (SABBATH) REST: although THE (his) WORKS were FINISHED from the foundations of the world. Christ has been RESTING since those first six days; you are defiling the SABBATH if you are not also resting (IN CHRIST'S WORKS): THE WORKS ARE DONE (COMPLETE).

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor setteth in the seat of the scornful.

Christ is declaring kis WORKS that the death and resurrection of HIMSELF will bring to mankind. At his APPOINTED TIME in each of us. HIS WORKS!

Proverbs 16:6 BY MERCY and TRUTH iniquity is purged.....(his works)

Romans 2:4...not knowing that THE GOODNESS of God leadeth thee to REPENTANCE? (his works)

Isaiah 27:12 And it shall COME TO PASS in that day (NEW COVENANT) (day of the Lord)... ye shall be gathered ONE by ONE (appointed time)...(his works)

Revelation 21:3 ...Behold, the tabernacle (temple) of God is with men...CHRIST IN YOU (his works)

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that YE are the temple of God (new heaven), and that the SPIRIT of God DWELLETH IN YOU. (his works)

Revelation 21:22 And I saw no temple therein (new Jerusalem), for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb ARE THE TEMPLE OF IT (CHRIST IN US). Accomplished at the NEW COVENANT. Death and resurrection of Christ. New heaven (NEW dwelling place of God) and new earth (new body; no longer dust, but THE GLORY OF GOD)! (his works)

Wine referred to was alcoholic, because of verses like this John 2:10. Jesus' first miracle was to make wine for the wedding, so He must not have a problem in small responsible amount. And the Word also recommended it to protect against illness. There are many medicines, drugs prescribed today for medical reasons that in larger doses would be irresponsible and harmful to our body/holy temple.

I personally don't see wine referred to as a mocker as a condemnation of wine for all situations. Anything in excess is harmful and can be abused and become an addiction.
  • Adam - In Reply on 1 Timothy 5 - 4 years ago
    Hi Donna,

    The Bible doesn't contradict itself.

Sometimes people assume that something they don't understand is contradictory.

World populated by two people. Genesis 1:28. First, God made special provisions for Adam & Even and family as they were first. Of course it was not a sin to reproduce among their family, but the opposite might have been sin since God commanded them to reproduce. Just because at an unknown time after God made it a sin to commit incest doesn't mean that applied to Adam and Eve. People also accused Adam and Eve of having premarital sex, but obviously that moral law wasn't enacted yet and was obvious that Adam and Eve had no one else other than God to proclaim they were married.

Secondly, some believe God created more people either at the same time or slightly later than Adam and Eve, because of the reference to the land of Nod. If there was a land there, it sounded like a region populated by people and if so how did they get there. God probably had something to do with that. Not every detail is 100% described in the Bible. In Genesis 1-2 a lot happens and it can't possibly cover everything. So, it shouldn't be a surprise that one won't have 100% of the answers.

Made in God's image: yes, God is a spirit and we are both physical and spiritual beings. God can also be a physical being too- as indicated when he wrestled with Jacob, etc. Made in God's image doesn't automatically mean physical. It could be spiritual, or emotional, or other characteristics we have that are unique to us and not in other animals.

    Hello Vince,

Thank you for your comments. I was wanting to respond specifically to your comment, "I guess they think Christ died on the cross so we can be Lawless."

No, I do not believe that Jesus died for me so that I could be lawless. I do want to obey God's Laws. However, what has God commanded me to do? Would you suggest that I be circumcised so as to keep God's Law recorded at Leviticus 12:3? Why would I do that when the Apostles decided in Acts 15 that I need not be circumcised in order to serve God.

So, what do I obey. As a Christian, I obey the instructions that the Apostles gave to the first-century Church in the epistles from Romans to Revelation. They never tell me to keep the Sabbath or be circumcised or keep the festivals of Israel. In fact, they tell me the opposite:

Colossians 2:16 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:"

Galatians 4:10 "Ye observe days (sabbaths), and months (lunar month), and times (festivals), and years (sabbatical). I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain."

I obey the New Testament made between God and the Church of God via the mediator Jesus Christ since I am a Christian. I do not obey the Old Testament made between God and ancient Israel via the mediator Moses. I am not an Israelite.

Please see Jeremiah 31:31-34 and Hebrews 8:7-13.

Notice that the Bible is separated into 2 portions - the Old Testament and the New Testament. Jesus inaugurated the New Testament with his shed blood. See Luke 22:20. These are the laws that I obey - God's laws for Christians in the New Testament.

    I kindly invite your comments.

    Good day.

    Hi Jesse,

The Bible warns many times that a person can lose their salvation. Here are a few places.

John 15:6 "If a man abide (remain) not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

Romans 11:21 "For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee."

2 Peter 2:20-22 "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Hebrews 6:4-6 "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Hebrews 10:26-29 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

    I welcome your thoughts.

    Good day.

See also Mt. 13:33. Regarding Luke 13:20-21, the correct interpretation is this:

+ The Kingdom of Heaven = the combined saved on earth; particularly the church.

+ Leaven = "another gospel"; any cursed false doctrine which is added to the True Gospel to make it more receptive. (e.g. the cursed doctrine which "so soon removed [the Galatian Church] from HIM (CHRIST) unto another [false] gospel" ( Gal. 1:6-7; cp. Hos.7:4).

+ A woman = the proponent and introducer of false doctrine. The New Testament never describes the True Church generally as a "woman". Rather, the True Church is described specifically and honorably as a "chaste virgin" ( 2Cor. 11:2) and a "the Bride, The LAMB's (CHRIST's) wife" ( Rev. 21:9; cp. 19:7).

+ Three measures of meal = the true saints; the true Kingdom of GOD; False professors and hypocrites will always reside within both.

+ Till the whole {meal} was leavened = religious "leaven" will always doctrinally corrupt any local church that receives it, as well as GOD's Kingdom as much as HE permits (generally speaking).

This parable, as all parables within Matthew Thirteen, describe the progressive devolution of the Church in general, and of GOD's Kingdom until CHRIST's 2nd Coming and Judgment.
  • Jesse - In Reply on Romans 5 - 4 years ago
    Daniel,

I don't know of any place in scripture that teaches that a person who belongs to Christ can end up in Hell. No Christian who has been truly born of God's Spirit will ever end up in Hell.

The entire salvation process from start to finish is all of God. The only thing we as human beings can contribute is the sin from which we need to be saved from. Now, once we are saved, at what point does salvation go from God's grace to human works? Are we not saved by God's grace alone according to Ephesians 2:8-9?

If we believe we can lose our salvation, what do we have to do to lose it? Again, if it is something we do to lose it, then it is no longer grace, but works on our part.

If you can please share with me any place in scripture that says Christians can end up in Hell, I am open to checking out what you can show me that teaches that.

    (Continued)

Leaven, a type of sin, always pollutes and perverts that which is Holy (cp. 1Cor. 5:8).

The wicked counterparts to "a woman"-an antitype of the True Church-are "that woman Jezebel" ( Rev. 2:20), and the global religious system described as "the great whore", and "the mother of harlots" ( Rev. 17:1 & 5).

The "measures of meal" is that which "good seed" ( Mt. 13:24) produces, only by the planting of which symbolizes the growth of True and Productive Christian believers (cp. Mt. 13:8 & 23).

The True Gospel is never "hid", but rather is preached and openly, publicly, and boldly. The "woman" secretly "hid" her leaven which speaks of deception. She deceives by making her "leaven" more palatable to her gullible audience. Apostle Peter warned, "there shall be fal
  • Philip Christian Parks - In Reply on Galatians 5 - 4 years ago
(Continued) Scriptures amply document the deceptive secrecy of false teachers who "hide" their "leaven". See

    + ( 2Cor. 11:13) "deceitful workers."

    + ( Eph. 4:14) "they lie in wait {use trickery} to deceive."

+ (2Thes. 2:9) "him {apocalyptic antichrist}, whose coming is after the working of Satan (the definitive deceiver)."

    + ( 1Tim. 4:1-2) "seducing spirits ... speaking lies in hypocrisy."

+ ( 2Tim. 3:5) "Having a form of Godliness, but denying the Power thereof."

    + ( Tit. 1:11) "who subvert {overthrow} whole houses."

    + ( 1Jn. 2:26) "them that seduce {deceive} you."

+ ( Rev. 2:9) "them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan."

"Leaven" is anything extraneous which false religionists add to the True Gospel and Doctrine of CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR. That added "leaven" spreads throughout the Church and GOD's Kingdom. Compare the waywardness of the modern "church", and how far she has so removed herself from that perfect righteousness, holiness, and Godliness GOD requires. The modern church has literally removed LORD JESUS CHRIST to the back alley curbside.

CHRIST literally portrays this in HIS Proclamation, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock" ( Rev. 3:20). CHRIST, WHO is "The DOOR of the sheep" ( Jn. 10:7 & 9), now "knocks" of the "door" of the apathetic, indifferent, and backslidden church because the church has replaced the True "DOOR" with a "door" of false gospels, doctrines, and even a false lord and savior.

Of qualifications, when I speak of the modern church, I speak generally, for CHRIST will always "build" HIS True Churches. The True Church and the True Kingdom of GOD will persevere unto CHRIST comes again.

I use to believe the Roman Catholic teaching of consciousness after death. Like you are not really dead, but go to Heaven, Hell or Purgatory. (And there if in Hell, burn eternally, with no hope of an end).

However, since then I have read in God's Word that this is not so. In John 11:11-14, Jesus tell His apostles that Lazarus is sleeping, but Jesus goes to wake him up. Finally, Jesus tells His apostles that Lazarus is dead. Also, see 1

Thessalonians 4:15-17. And, John 5:28-29. See, Genus 2:7. Ecclesiastes 12:7. Importantly, Psalms 146:3-4. Again, "Who Only Has Immortality? See, 1 Timothy 6:16. And those who SEEK, Romans 2:7. In 1 Corinthians 15:51-54 we learn.... Knowing what God's Word really says is priceless, see, Psalms 115:17, "The dead praise NOT the LORD, neither any that go down into silence." Must read, Ecclesiae's 9:5,6, 10. 5."For the living know that they shall die; but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of then is forgotten. 6. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun. 10. Whatsoever thy hand findet to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goes." NOTE: 2 Timothy 3:16, "ALL Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:" There is more, but I think by now you get the idea.... God bless you as you prayerfully Study the above....

    Amen Jesse.

    Great declaration of clear truth.

To go along with the truth you presented brings us back to Genesis to the "UNCONDITIONAL" promise God performed "ALONE" to Abraham 430 years before the law given.

Hebrews 6:13-19. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of PROMISE. Galatians 4:28.

I came to Christ through fear. I grew up in the church but never knew Jesus. I always believed in God, but was never saved. When I was around 35, I was working in construction and traveled for work. Hard 10 hour days of labor, and relaxing evenings in a hotel room was my life. Since there was rarely anything on tv worth watching I FINALLY decided to get a laptop. At least then I could youtube it up. Being curious and interested in the paranormal, I'd watch a lot of videos on ghosts, demons and angels caught on tape. Then I came across vids of people claiming they died went to hell and came back. And it got me thinking...am I SURE I'm going to heaven? Those descriptions of hell, combined with my very vivid imagination began to worry me...then terrify me. Then one evening in my hotel room it finally got the better of me and I called my mom and stepdad who are very spiritual. We talked for 20 minutes about Jesus, or the bible...or something along those lines because I cant remember a single thing from that conversation. But whatever they said...it worked. I was in tears when I got off the phone. Then I stood up from the bed, hit my knees and started bawling my eyes out and kept repeating over and over the words "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry". For about half an hour this is all i could do. And I felt this weight on me, as if I couldn't get low enough to the floor even though I tried. When it was over, I felt like I was 50 lbs lighter. I washed my face, went to bed, and continued to live my life. I didn't know I was saved. Over the next few days I began to notice the changes. When I would curse, it felt horrible like nails on a chalkboard in my soul. Food tasted different as if it were just for sustenance and not something I could enjoy. Which oddly enough was kind of a relief. I called my parents and explained what was happening and my mom said with great excitement "OH OH I think you've been saved! To whomever reads this, I hope you get something out of it. God bless.

    Greetings to all,

My feelings of believers, in Christ, being divided by all types of "doctrine and beliefs" is very saddening. I come as a peacemaker. As I have seen and been involved with debates about many things such as(needing to speak in tongues to know you have the Holy Spirit, keeping the 7th day Sabbath, you only have to believe to be saved, etc).

I so understand that no one is exactly the same and we may have different perspectives on things. Us being able to have peaceful conversations with one another is a Blessing. Even though we all being different, with different gifts and abilities, Christ is the same.

I just want to focus now on what I feel is most important. Love. If we truly live our lives with a pure heart founding ourselves on loving one another. We are fulfilling the law and God's Will. There is nothing greater than love. As Jesus Christ stated there is no greater love than to lay down his life for his friends. We should lay down our lives for Jesus Christ and let Him be the author of our lives. Him showing His love for us as He gave His life, as a perfect sacrifice, to save us from our sins. Also how much our Father loves us by sending His own Son to be a free gift of Salvation. That we may all be one in Him. He is the only way to the Father. The Lord searches hearts and knows all who are His. Let the Holy Ghost lead you to follow after Christ in His ways. To do what pleases Him.

In truth I say that I love you all and all of you are in my prayers every day. I could go on and on though I want to just read the Holy Bible. I shall leave a just a couple Scriptures for you all that the Lord brought me to that fit this post.

    Romans 13:8-10, 1 John 4:7-19.

In humbleness, God Bless you all!
