I see that you have referenced me Alex, to which I will return some responses, after quoting you.

"Thus ALL men will be born again of his spirit..I will pour out my Spirit on ALL FLESH...Joel..." Joel 2:28 (cf Acts 2:17). Not all men will be born again as you believe - the Spirit will be given only to those who repent & turn to the Lord. An evidence of this first outpouring was at Pentecost, to which Peter references Joel's prophecy. ALL FLESH represents not All Men, but people of ALL Nations who respond to the Lord.

"there is only 1 thing that initiates Salvation which is the New Birth...Faith can only come by 1 thing hearing his word...And Faith is the evidence of a Birth of Christ in us." Alex, you've got this all mixed up. Faith is NOT the evidence of a Birth of Christ - Faith is a gift of God ( Ephesians 2:8,9) & with God's Grace, brings salvation, hence a new birth. The New Birth doesn't initiate salvation - the New Birth is a product of salvation. ( Romans 10:9,10; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

"It wd make God a hypocrite if he applied the curse of that 1st Adam to all men no exceptions mind you...But Not apply the blood of that 2nd ADAM Christ Jesus the lamb of God to ALL MEN NO EXCEPTIONS." If that were true Alex, there really would be no need to preach the Gospel, as according to you, God is bound to forgive all mankind regardless of their sinful state & hatred of Him. I ask again Alex, as I did many months ago & getting no answer, would you share the Gospel with someone who asks you for the way of salvation? If so, why? And what would be the message?

Lastly, "God is not a torment to them in Christ Jesus but only to the DEVILS AND HIS ANGELS." Please read Revelation 20:10-15. This Lake of Fire is not for purifying nor temporary, it's for everlasting torment for both Satan & his henchmen & those not written in the Book of Life. "Behold now is the day of salvation" - no other opportunity for anyone, hence the Gospel's urgency.

Thank you Fred , for me , the most disgusting thing about the Pharisees is that they actually wanted to kill Lazarus . This evil of theirs boggles my mind . My guess is that he went into hiding after Jesus's crucifixion , maybe even before . Christ is fearless , true love is the bravest attribute , for true love even us mere mortals will risk ourselves for some one we love . Christ knew where he wanted to be and this should be our desire , our deepest desire , the World to Come . Thy Kingdom Come Dear Heavenly Father , when it is Your Will . Great post Fred , much love in Christ .

  • Chris - In Reply on Ephesians 2 - 3 years ago
Hi Shirley. I can see the answer in Ephesians 2:4, "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us". This can be the only reason for God to show us mercy: His great Love by which He loved us. God is the embodiment of Light & Love. As such, all that He is & declares to us, must be the revelation of Himself. When we deserved nothing from Him, when we did everything that defamed His Holy Name, He yet reached out His Hand of Love in giving us His only Begotten Son. 2 Corinthians 6:2, "behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation", reminds us that His Mercy is for a short time, desiring that "none should perish but that all should come to repentance" ( 2 Peter 3:9). When that curtain falls, those rejecting God's Mercy have only His Judgement to look forward to ( 2 Peter 3:7).

Do not be afraid dear, you have with you God Himself. Give Him glory, praise the Lord. Fill yourself with the word and find the promises, rest in them. I got some nice words for you today :) notice the capital letters, which can be confusing in English. At times i have also been scared and insecure, but with Jesus by my side i iam never afraid of ability. Tip: Request a King James Version Bible where everything Jesus says is written in red.

Hebrew 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

John 7:17 If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether i speak of myself. Amen

God bless you and yours to the end of time in Jesus name, i love u becouse what Jesus do on Good Friday. (Or the day we remember today).

One can learn from the intensity and the power of wrong thinking when we do not except Christ. Jesus refers to it as the light. Believe in the light while we have Him. These words compared to nothing less than life here on earth and the life hereafter, called eternity.

He that hates this life, profound as it may seem, are the effects of living in Christ.

Even so we are in the world, doing the will of God, confronting sin in the world.

One may begin to wonder what heaven will be like after leaving this place?

Jesus once again confronting the Pharisees, who did not have far to come, watched Christ having dinner with Lazarus.

So, Jesus takes the opportunity not far from the temple giving the place for Mary to show Her Faith with the anointing of Christ feet, while Her brother looks on! Her brother, this one Jesus clearly raised from the dead after 4 days in the tomb!

The fact that the Pharisees, Simone, and Judas were all there is evidence that Jesus was giving these another chance to believe who He is. This is power, Christ is fearless in the eye's of an unbelieving hateful people ,who only wish to kill Him!

    Repent and be baptized

He became our righteousness ( 1 Cor. 1:30). I would state that perfect fulfillment was completed at that point. Christ lived His whole life as the perfect Man; in obedience and submission to His parents; partaking in the synagogue activities expected of a rightous Jew at that time. He showed through His actions and scripture that mercy should accompany activities on the Sabbath; and since He was Lord of the Sabbath certain ceremonial rites could be bypassed by both Him and His disciples. The law itself and its standards still are in effect; although it is in society for the unrighteous. We are given the new standards as to how to behave with our motives; as Christ preached regarding lust and anger. Ephesians 2:15 is interesting in that Christ abolished the law; so to speak as far as us receiving the due wages of sin; that is eternal death.

It is interesting that at the time: Christ said the weightier matters were to be looked after; with the rest NOT being undone ( Luke 11:42). It was not yet time to abandon Judaism until the work on the cross was accomplished. In fact; until heaven and earth go away not one "jot or tittle" of the law will expire ( Matthew 5:18). This; clearly refers to all things EXCEPT that which the New Covenant ( Heb. 9:15; etal) abrogates. That is; exceptions are ceremonial laws ( Acts 10:14-16) and the Sabbath Day ( Mark 2:27-28). It appears that because of Christ fulfilling Pentacost; or the eight day ( Leviticus 23:15) fifty days after the Passover; or Good Friday when Christ was in the tomb made Sunday the new day of rest. The early church appeared to meet the first day of the week.

Therefore; we should love the law as admonished in Psalm 119. Only through Christ can we do good works ( Eph 2:10). Only by fulfilling the first couple commands as summarized by Christ can we desire His ways and demonstrate any love towards what is against our flesh nature. May we daily trust the Spirit and die to the flesh. Agape. RP

This is a fascinating thing. I heard a sermon one time saying the words spoken about "if someone sees the face of GOD they cannot live" he said "they cannot live, the same" Is this the question you're looking deeper into? Genesis 32:20,30, Exodus 33:11, Exodus 34:28-30,35,

    It would be very interesting to do a study on the words. Exodus 3:6, Exodus 33:20,23, Numbers 6:25, Deuteronomy 5:1-5, Deuteronomy 31:17,18, Deuteronomy 32:20, Deuteronomy 34:10, Judges 6:22, 1Kings 13:6, 1Chronicles 16:11, 2Chronicles 7:14, 2Chronicles 30:9, Psalms 13:1, Psalms 17:5, Psalms 22:24, Psalms 105:4, Isaiah 54:8, Isaiah 59:2, Jeremiah 21:10, Ezekiel 20:35,

Perhaps it's the word "man" that the emphasise is. Romans 8:14, Galatians 4:6, Hebrews 12:7, John 1:12, Philippians 2:15, 1John 3:1,2 , 1John 4:15, How sad it is when a living father says "see his face no more" or turns his face.

Genesis 3:8-10, interestingly, in this translation it says they heard "the voice of the LORD" they "hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God"

What's amazing is: Genesis 4:16, it appears even though they were cast out of the garden GOD's presence was still with them.

    Psalms 139, Job 4:15,

    Hopefully this is helpful

Genesis 3:8 seems to indicate that Adam talked with God in the cool of the day along with Eve. The earlier communication in 2:15 seemed to be a command from God. The animals named by Adam were due to God bringing them to him; not necessarily indicating that anything was communicated as a directive for that event. Then once again; God was the sole voice in His declarations to Adam; Eve and the serpent. Evidence of the Godhead is in the word "Elohim" in the beginning of Genesis; and after the fall when He said that man would become "as one of us" (v. 22).

As to which member of the Godhead was talked to; Exodus indicates that no man spoke face to face with God as Moses did ( Exodus 33:11; Deut. 34:10). It would appear that the preincarnate Christ would have been the one who can be approached; and certainly even in His case not in His full glory. Only the back of God could be revealed to Moses ( Exodus 33:12-23).

It should be noted that since man had not yet fallen before this; that there could have been a closer fellowship before Adam hid from God. There was only one restriction before this; and after man was doomed to his fate and eventual physical death after that spiritual death had occurred; the only further restriction at that time was preventing man from taking of the tree of life and living forever in a fallen state. Genesis 3:15 shows God's spiritual provision; and the skins from the first killed animal the outer provision or covering ( Genesis 3:21).

It seems clear that God spoke throughout the process that the Biblical canon was developed; and in fact since Creation. There were lapses; likely before the flood when all but Noah and his immediate family were saved; and later during the time of the Judges according to scripture. There was probably another long lag in the intertestamental period. The sobering thought is even Balaam spoke to God and Judas Iscariot was in His presence. Better to believe what is unseen than seen ( John 20)

  • Richard H Priday on Psalms 24 - 3 years ago
We can see a sort of progression; from the detailed descriptions of the Messiah to come of his sufferings at crucifixion; to the journey through the "valley of the shadow of death" mentioned in Psalm 23; to this chapter. Here; we see Christ entering into the gates or everlasting doors (v. 7 and 9); as well as a description in verse 10 of the Lord of Hosts being the King of glory; and the strong and "mighty" in battle in verse 8. Here; we have the triumphant return after the ascension likely indicated in verse 10; with the victory after the earthly triumph at Armageddon in verse 8; when He then enters into the temple itself (in the east gate). This gate apparently has been sealed off since antiquity in Jerusalem.

The earlier verses indicate a Millenium stance; as to who is worthy to ascend the holy hill (v. 3-5).

In terms of the blood of the Atonement; it is possible that it was placed in heaven; as well as being part of the vesture dipped in blood mentioned at His returns ( Rev. 19:13). We must remember that Christ is our "Passover" ( 1 Cor. 5:7). He secured victory over Satan; and over death itself. God was satisfied with this; and even pleased to crush Him. ( Isaiah 53:10). Christ Himself will rejoice and be satisfied; as the verse further explains. His travail is worth it to please the Father; and clearly His thought was on us when He prayed before His death for us to be "one" ( John 17:11 and 21). This mindset is similar to Paul's concerns as he was physically wasting away in prison over the church where he said it is more needful to remain; although to live is Christ and die is gain. ( Philippians 1:21-24).

As the pastor last week mentioned in his sermon; Christ's battle was fought during the silent periods in His trial. He couldn't die after sweating blood in Gethsemane; or after the flogging which many succumbed to. No doubt Satan wished for this. He was strengthened until He had to be left alone at the cross as we see in Psalm 22.
