“And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.”

7:7 Your earnest desire - To rectify what had been amiss. Your grief - For what had offended God, and troubled me.
2Co 7:7 Not by his coming only. He rejoiced to meet again a well-beloved fellow-laborer, but rejoiced still more over the news which he brought. Your earnest desire. To cleanse themselves from fault. Your mourning. Over the reproof of their sins. Your fervent mind toward me. Affection for and zeal to please me.
And not by his comming onely, but by the consolation wherewith hee was comforted in you, when he told vs your earnest desire, your mourning, your feruent minde toward me, so that I reioyced the more.
