20A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. 21Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. 22Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD. 23The poor useth intreaties; but the rich answereth roughly. 24A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Wesley's Notes for Proverbs 18:23
18:21 Death and life - Are brought upon men by, the good or bad use of their tongues. Lovest - That love much talking.
18:22 A wise - A good wife; one that deserves the name, and performs the duty of that relation. Favour - Obtains her not by his own diligence, but by God's good providence.
18:24 A man - Heb. A man of friends; who desires the friendship of others.
