Philippians
King James Version (KJV)

“That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;”
King James Version (KJV)
1:10 That ye may try - By that spiritual sense. The things that are excellent - Not only good, but the very best; the superior excellence of which is hardly discerned, but by the adult Christian. That ye may be inwardly sincere - Having a single eye to the very best things, and a pure heart. And outwardly without offence - Holy, unblamable in all things.
Php 1:10 That ye may approve things that are excellent. This increase in knowledge and judgment would lead them to approve what is really excellent. How often men approve what does not bless them! How often the judgment errs! Without offence. Without leadings others to stumble.
That ye may approue things that are excellent, that ye may be sincere, and without offence till the day of Christ.
