    The most important verse is verse 22 and verse 24 the elects. Those who are the reason we all are still here. Who are they? Romans 9 and 11 reveal it. Those who had to fall for the gentiles and reconciliation of the world. The true mystery. God will not judge his chosen whom he has purposed their life.

    @Ian,
    You are not far from the Kingdom of God. However, you seem to be overly caught up in the law and not so much in Love. Jesus said that not "one jot, or one little" of the law would stop until all was fulfilled. He also said He came to fulfill the law, and Paul taught us that LOVE fulfills the law. Learn to seek more the things that Mary sought and not be so concerned about the working of things like Martha was. Peace.

    The whore of Babylon is the Catholic Church. Her daughters are the churches that left the Catholic Church but kept many of its pagan rituals it adopted. Sunday worship Easter, Christmas to name the most recognized. The bible proves the real day Jesus died, the month he was born, and day he rose. It isn't Good Friday, Sunday or December. And nowhere in the Bible is Sunday hallowed and commanded to be kept holy and rested on. These are the traditions of man and Jesus warns us about them in Mark 7:6-9 and 13. And the fourth commandment is the commandment he says is forsaken. Even Martin Luther who was taught as a catholic but called them the whore of Babylon. He even recognized the true Sabbath but didn't want to go through the hassle of changing the status quo. Not surprising seeing as the Catholics were killing Christians that kept the true Sabbath. They did this for 1260 years. This period is known as the dark ages. For anyone that wants to see the proof, there are articles with biblical scripture backed with secular history and archeological proofs. Jesus and Paul warned of the false teachers and christs. The Bereans read the Old Testament scriptures to prove what Paul was teaching in the synagogues on the Sabbath. Because there was no New Testament then. The Bible says that He was "without sin" ( Hebrews 4:15). And "sin IS the transgression of the law" ( 1 John 3:4, KJV). So we know that Jesus never transgressed God's law-including the fourth commandment about keeping the Sabbath holy. If Jesus had broken the Sabbath, He would have earned the wages of sin-death ( Romans 6:23), and could not have become our Savior. It is clear, then, that Jesus never broke even the least of God's commandments, nor taught men to do so. On the contrary, He said, "I have KEPT My Father's commandments" ( John 15:10). Furthermore, at the very beginning of His ministry, Jesus set the standard for what would be His lifelong example: "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His CUSTOM was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read" ( Luke 4:16). Again, in Luke 13:10, we read, "Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath." The Law of Moses to this day is read in the synagogues. So don't fall for the deception it was nailed to the cross. The reason Jesus called the Pharisees sons of Satan they had added over 60 laws to the Sabbath day not ordered by God. These laws were nailed to the cross along with ceremonial laws like circumcision mentioned in acts.. That is the leaven Jesus tells us not to listen to. Acts 15:20, We should instead write a letter, instructing them to abstain from four things: first, things associated with idol worship; second, sexual immorality; third, food killed by strangling; and fourth, blood. Verse 21, My reason for these four exceptions is that in every city there are Jewish communities where, for generations, the laws of Moses have been proclaimed; and on every Sabbath, Moses is read in synagogues everywhere. Again the Sabbath is expected to be kept by the gentiles to hear the laws of Moses. So the apostles don't think the law was nailed to the cross.

    Weymouth version hits the mark on this verse. With the help of my pastor looking into the original Greek, who this was originally written to and the context, we came to the same conclusion. Weymouth translation gets it right and makes it clear.

    I heard one American Soldier reading and explaining this verse like "The Eagle" is an American Soldier He said, "where there is a war American soldiers are there". So I agree with him that where there is war there will be an American Soldier there to fight, and to protect and there will be many casualties (carcasses/dead bodies). God is not done with America even after rapture!

    4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. Chapter 24 is a warning of the evil that is to come upon Christianity. Heaven is a word used to describe both the sky above the earth and also the distant Heaven where God resides. "The universe is the dwelling-place of God. Whether on earth or in heaven, we are still in his habitation. The earth is one of them, heaven is another." The Son of man is evil. When you see missiles and bombs coming out of the sky (heaven) that are directed toward Christian cities and nations, it will look like lightening. The Son of man will take to the sky with powerful fighter jets and the earth will mourn because WW3 has started. Verse 32... the angels are the air forces of the nations fighting Christianity and they unite in battle. Verse 42 says watch because the Lord (Jesus) will not come when you think he might. Verse 43 confirms this because it compares the Son of man to a thief. Jesus is not a thief. Verse 45 talks about the true servants of God, followers of Jesus. These people will be blessed when Jesus returns to fight the Son of man at the end of WW3. Christians that are converted to a false religion and kill true Christians during this war because they think that God is not helping prevent the death of his chosen people by allowing so much time to pass before he does return, will be cut down and destroyed when Jesus returns.

    Mathew 24:15 in fact is the false religion which marks the abomination that make desolate. We see same thing in Revelation, the whore that sits upon many waters; a woman clothed with scarlet whom John marveled at…

    Deep breath before the plunge. I am working to have the global peace project, as a modern revelation of the gospel of peace - Matthew 24:14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. 12 And at all times, and in all places, he shall open his mouth and declare my gospel as with the voice of a trump, both day and night. And I will give unto him strength such as is not known among men. Doctrine and Covenants 88:103 103. And another trump shall sound, which is the fifth trump, which is the fifth angel who committeth the everlasting gospel—flying through the midst of heaven, unto all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people.

    Sounds like a secret rapture if the reader will conclude on this one text alone. But one cannot build a Bible doctrine in one verse alone. It should go in harmony with the whole context and subject of Christ's second coming. A little here a little there and precept upon precept.

    Only God Himself, in JESUS, knows when the world will end! It is all said in Matthew 24. God bless him who suggested to me that I should read the whole of Matthew 24 and I have just read it! Jesus speaks of His second coming we know not when! The Mayans are not the prophets commissioned by God to tell the world that December 21 is the appointed time for Jesus's second coming! The end of the world can come at any time, thus we have to be prepared, repent from our sins, seek God's Divine Mercy through Jesus, pray for the Divine Mercy. This is a devotion taught or instructed by Jesus Himself to Sister Faustina, a Polish nun.

    All of chapter 24 is prophetic in that Jesus is talking to his disciples (verse 3) and giving the signs or events that will come to pass before the second advent (coming) of him and his army ( Revelation 19:11-16). Items of note are:
    1. Son of man is a term used by the Jews only (gentiles use the term son of God);
    2. Verse 13 is a tribulation verse after the rapture;
    3. Verse 14, this gospel is not the gospel we preach today (which is the gospel of the grace of God);
    4. Verse 32 the fig tree is Israel (1948) is when they became their own state which you can liken to a tree budding. When you see trees beginning to bud you know summer is close;
    5. The real significance of these signs is that they will all start and continue to increase in numbers and in intensity before the second coming of Christ, which we know that the rapture will happen 7 years earlier; which means the closer we get to the second coming of Christ, it is even closer for the rapture of the church.
    As you watch the events in chapter 24 unfolding around the world these days you need to ask yourself, am I ready to come face to face with God almighty, which could happen at any moment? Examine yourself and see what faith are ye, II Corinthians 13:5.

    We are so fortunate that God created us. We fell into sin and we deserve death. But God did not stop there. There was a plan of salvation and that is Jesus' death. Now our ABBA father wants to be with his people for eternity. Matthew 24 is giving us the signs of His return. We need to be vigilant to know all these signs so we could not be caught unaware and miss the whole event. Let us always read His word, follow His leading and develop a close personal relationship with Him NOW. Thank you Lord for this blessed HOPE. Come Lord Jesus, Come!

    Matthew 24:10 (NLT) says, And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. The Lord said, as part of the end time signs, many that would turn away from following or believing in the Gospel, are those the Lord Himself, refers to in Matthew 13:19-22 (NLT) in other words, it is the persecution of all kinds that will force those who have not been reading their Bible and to know the things that are coming. For no sufficient word of God in their lives, they will turn back. Betrayal and hatred are common in the world; those who turn back from following the Lord Jesus Christ will do what those in the world are doing.
  • Jesus Villalobos on Matthew 24:26 - 12 years ago
    This is warning of a false rapture. The subject matter is the coming of Jesus. Jesus starts this by saying that "Many will come in His name; saying I am He." This is NOT saying that many will claim to be the messiah. It is saying that they were here to take us to Him. These would be the very devils controlling those who were preaching false doctrines concerning the timing of His return. We MUST remember, the subject being addressed by Jesus to His disciples, is the sign and the timing of His return to earth. This is why He strictly tells us NOT to go with those who will ultimately say they are here to take us to Him. These would be the very devils that came in the days of Noah and took the women and produced giants like Goliath. This is the correct interpretation of what Jesus was talking about when He warned us NOT to go with them! He then goes on to tell us we MUST wait for the sign of the Son of Man before His return. Matthew 24:29-31.

    Brethern, it's our responsibility to preach the word in all the world. That's why God called us. The Bible says 'he that winneth souls is wise'. Soul winning is third duty for all christians.

    The comming of Jahsuah/Jesus
    The Sabbath and Winter are key to the times that the world has never seen.The truth of Gods word will be known to all.Right now we have different ideas as to what the truth is. The Sabbath and the correct day of worship will be a fact.Winter is not a good time for large numbers of people to move at one time,so if large numbers of people have to move out during winter time, many people will die. The sabbath is a day of rest, a holy day when the sprit of God moves upon his people to give them peace. There will be no peace, if large numbers of people have to move on that day. Technology will be of little use, so people will be looking for something to worship. This is where the flase Chirst will appeal to many. Only those who take God at his word will be standing.At the time that it is unbairable, Jahsuah will come for his people. This will happen very fast.Only Abba/ the father knows.

    When reading verse 40 of Matt. 24 remember the subject is the return of Christ. Think of verse. 23 in Chapter 24 here is Christ or there He is, but believe it Not! Don't chase after Christ for when Christ returns we will know for Jerusalem will be flatten to dust. So the first one taken in that 23rd verse is running with the fake messiah antichrist. I heard a Preacher say he wanted to be the first one taken on T.V. taken into hell. Wow! Crazy man!

    I see it sadly enough. Many who say Lord, LOrd, yet thier lives do not reflect him. The Elect seasoned Saints being led astray. We must Watch as well as Pray!
  • Wayne Denning on Matthew 24:13 - 12 years ago
    This is a wake up call! I am very disappointed that "Christians" have tucked their salvation experience in their pocket and gone off to become one of the guys in the world. When Christ promised eternal life he used verbs that were assuming the believer would stay on the path (you know, the straight and narrow one.)

    If you buy a car and throw away the manual, not following the manufacturer's stipulations, you void your warraanty. How much more true is it in the case of our redeemer? I am speaking of the persons who really had a true conversion experience, were sorry for their sins and really meant it when they said they would follow Christ. However, following the conversion, we are still allowed access to the steering wheel. It's called free moral agency. Unfortunately, many with the real thing look left and right and like what they see in this world. We are instructed to be in the world and not of the world. That's not hard to understand. Is it?

    Right now, so many believers have dropped their guard and this includes ministers and are in real danger of missing the reward they were once sure of and of course hell is the "default." Narrow is the way - and few there be that find it. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.

    Im from the truth movement, and after years of analysis of all the data emerging. I finally realized, that when you sum it all up, it points towards preparations, of some kind of an alien invasion. Matthew 24:15 The abomination standing in the holy place, the Vatican, will not be a normal human being. We will all see him/them, as part of a announcing media transmission. Here he will read another version of scripture, lets call it Babylonian, claiming it to be the genuine one. They will then force the closing down of the church, and begin persecute/kill all church remainders, and all remaining Christians. They will do that under their 3 and half years rule, and further 3 and a half years until the final battle of Armageddon. Finally i will let you in on a secret: The meaning of the number 144.000 is known in the highest teachings in Buddhism. Its the ancient symbolic number of conscious vibration behind matter in each second. So the number 144.000 is symbolic, and means who ever is still alive.

    you couldn't be more wrong..Satan comes first ..Christ is the last trump out,“Behold I show you a mystery we shall not all sleep but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in a twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed. ( 1 Cor 15:51,52)Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and [by] our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
