jesus is looking up to heaven and is speaking to holy father .we are of command to call no man on earth your father for your father is in heaven. what of this 'pope' ?

This Chapter also makes it clear that the Father(Jehovah)knew and loved Jesus before the foundation of the earth.

as i read these chapters i came to realize Christ called each disciple 1 by one not with great pomp but a gentle come follow me after that did they receive power to do miracles in his name They believed his word and they were anointed to do his work

chap 17 is all about the prayer Jesus prayed and mostly for His Disciples not only so its the whole chapter where Jesus spent time praying in that time
