There are many messages contained in this one passage. It is truly one of the greatest love stories! In those days men could write their wives a bill of divorcement for anything. It was a disgrace to not bare children as every woman was looking for the coming of the messiah as per prophecy. Not baring children was a disgrace! Yet Elkanah loved Hannah even more because of this. Truly his heart ached when Hannah 's ached. It pained him to see her unhappy dispite public opinion. Penninah ridiculed her for her fault But Elkanah tried very hard to make her happy. Infact he asked her " am I not better to you than 10 sons? " He tried to compensate for her inability. He did not stand in the way of her devotion to God. He allowed her to give her blessing back to God not knowing that she would bare more children. what man would love like this? he allowed her to stay home with the child as long as she felt it necessary and yet we never read of Hannah taking advantage of his love but she went down in history as one of the notable mothers of the bible. a beautiful story! some would have told her to be satisfied with what life did afford her, such as a doting husband and well to be but Hannah wanted something from God and God wanted to do something thru Hannah ! amen!

V 6 He that hath began a good work in me will perform it until the day of Christ. I thank God he doesn 't give up on me, I know he has began a good work and even tho I might mess up once in a while he is still working that good work in me
  • Samoel khamadi on Philippians 1 - 11 years ago
This is one of my favorite books, a master class. Paul encourages believers that God will finish the good work he has begun in us. We should be encouraged with this. At times we feel we cannot make it to the end. But we thank God for his assurance in verse 6. Amen.
  • Charles T Le Blanc on 2 Timothy 4 - 11 years ago
A fight is not considered a fight unless the opponent is worthy of mention. Satan is noted as spiritual darkness in high places. The only way to win a fight against spiritual darkness is with Spiritual Light!!. We too can not only fight a good fight but we can like Paul, Win!!. What good is a good fight if you don 't win? Let God fight your battles and you 'll win every time!!!

GOD acomplished all that was needed at the cross, placed HIS power in us, that was why Paul was told that HIS Grace was sufficient.True, we can do all things.
  • Rev. Autrey on Isaiah 53 - 11 years ago
Isaiah 53, verses 4 through 6 says, '4 Yet it was our weaknesses he carried, it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God for his own sins! 5 But he was wounded and crushed for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace. He was whipped, and we were healed! 6 All of us have strayed away like sheep. ' These verses give us a different way of looksing at Jesus ' death than is commopnly presented to us. The death of Jesus is not a philanthropic thing decided by Jesus just because he was a nice guy. No! His death was substitutionary. That is, he died in our place. That Friday was the day God had planned for our death, but Jesus took our place. It is like we are marching up Calvery 's his to our death, but we see Jesus has already gone there is our place. So the healing we get is to have our sins removed, not physical healing. You can get to heaven even if you are sick, or have one eye missing, one leg missing, or after having just died of a dreaded disease. But you can 't get into heaven if you are still charged with sin. So our sins are the reason Jesus went to the cross! God bless us for considering this!

I am so greatful GOD and his son JESUS forever giving grace, love, mercy, favor, healing, many other blessings, and protection against the enemy even when I didn 't see it as he exposes the enemy giving my eyes light to see things clearer. Psalm 23 encourages me to keep my eyes forever looking toward GOD and my saviour JESUS each day and night of my life.I pray GOD saves my immediate family souls and gives them a clean heart, forgiving heart, so they can have peace and a clearer understanding of GOD 's word and life he has prepared for everyone. AMEN.

We do not have to endure in our own strength. Jehovah God, whose resources are inexhaustible, can impart power even beyond what is normal to give is the strength and help we need.
  • Dan on Malachi 3:8 - 11 years ago
Abraham tithes to Melchizedek, Gods high priest, so tithing precedes the Law. Jesus commended tithing to the Pharisees when bragged about their tithing of every herb, etc. "This you should do.. but do not neglect the weightier matters of the law. As far as Isaiah and Malachai, can we disregard the fact that "the tithe is the Lord 's, it is holy. I have never been sorry I started tithing in my 20 's. His promise is true, he has opened heaven 's windows many times, and never left us out in the cold when economies shifted. God is faithful to his promises. We cannot beat God when it comes to giving...many testimonies along this line.

some will say that it harder to take the people out of egypt than to take egypt out of the people.every now and then we lose sight of who God is because things don 't go our way or not as mighty as we think it should be. If we trust God no matter what situation, no matter what size or how things look, God will make a way out of no way.

  • Laurie on Psalms 91 - 11 years ago
I have been feeling very stressed and worried about my future, in regards to marriage and family life. I cannot seem to meet my future partner and at the age of 33, I feel so ugly that no one will want me and I may never meet my future partner. A friend suggested, I read Psalm 91, after reading this Psalm today for the first time, I feel good, inner peace and happy. Which is strange for me but I LOVE this feeling and I know my Jesus has heard me and laid his hand on my heart. I don 't feel that heartache no more or stressed! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Jesus !

  • Debbie on Mark 11:24 - 11 years ago
This has been my favorite verse in the Bible for 32 years. I asked God for a verse that I could teach my children that would get them through the good and bad times. I started have them memorize it when they turned 4 years old when we said their bedtime prayers. They are 35, 31 and 26 and they use it when their faith is weak. They are strong Christians who are now raising their children for the Lord. In church every Sunday with their families sitting in pew behind mom and dad. I thank God for this special gift and for always being there when I need him. I can 't imagine a day without him. Let me always let my light shine for him! I have an unspoken request that I need prayer for at the present time. If you are a prayer warrior, please pray for me. I know God will take care of this request, but I believe we should pray for others. God Bless you all!
