    Hello GiGi

We haven't heard from you in a while. Are you okay? How are your grandchildren? OK?

    Giannis,

    I'm doing well, thank you.

Been busy doing landscape work in our back yard, watching Rosie, and getting to know our new grandson, Isaac.

Been experimenting with quick bread recipe to incorporating baby food puree that Rosie no longer eats since she completely eats table food like us.

I made bread using shredded cabbage, apple, pumpkin and butternut squash puree. It turned out well.

I just don't tell my husband what I put in it or he will balk at tasting it. But he usually likes what I cook as long as I keep him in the dark, so to speak.

I enjoy adapting and creating recipes. I have been cooking so many years that I have a good feel for what goes into creating things like quick breads, soups, stews, and other types of dishes.

It is getting colder here in the Washington state. Our winters around Puget Sound are usually rainy and cold with some days of snow. We usually get a few days where we get significant snow accumulation that lasts a few days. The kiddos have fun when they get off from school due to snow. I remember these "snow days" well as a kid.

What are winters like in your country? Do you live near the coast or more in the uplands?

These past few weeks I have been reading up on the history and migration of the peoples from the Eurasian steppe as well as those who migrated into and from Anatolia. I also am learning of who peopled Greece and Italy in between 2000 B.C. and 1 A. D. This is helping me to better understand whom the Old Testament is referring to when they name specific tribes/peoples/nations.

This year I decided, due to some events occuring in my life, to approach the lord closer than before. So I have spent a lot of time praying. And I am feeling the presence of the Lord more than ever before. Praying is essential to christians. It is not a monologue but a dialogue. God answers back by letting us feeling His presence which is joy and piece. The closer we go to God the closer he comes to us. But the past few months I do not spent so much time praying but I have started studying the Word of God more than ever before. This is also essential and necessary to christians. When the Lord sees the wish in our hearts to aproach Him by praying and studying He reveals to us things we didn't know before. God is like a tap of water. One drinks as much as he turns that tap, the more he turns it the more he drinks.

My volnerable side is the net. Once I am getting there I get lost reading all sort of different things. I like history a lot. All kind of history. And many other things like construction, engineering, anything really. I have always liked reading since a kid. So I spent much time there which I could spent in more necessary things (and my wife keeps telling me that!!!)

This as far as I am concerned. I wish your grandchildren grow in good health. And your sons and their families to come back to their Father's house where they belong to. Have a blessed week and month.

    Hello GiGi

Bread with shredded cabbage, apple, pumpkin and butternut squash puree? Give me the recipee. I"ll tell it to my wife. Just joking, but I wouldn't mind tasting it (I actually think I am a better cook than my wife!!! Don't tell my wife. I also like trying new recipees).

My knee is getting a lot better and I have been back to work since the beggining of November.

About the weather in my country. The weather is usually moderate in Greece. Nothing extreme. Not too hot summers, not too cold winters.. Although this has changed in the last 10-15 years. The winters have been a lot warmer lately, like last year and this year so far. The average temperature in November this year in my place was around 5 to 15 degrees Celsius which is actually a lot warmer than normal. A lot of rain as well. Tomorrow, Monday, the forecast shows 6 to 11 degrees C. The summers have also been warmer lately. The summers of 2023 and 2024 were extremely hot, up to 40 C for a long time. So we had a lot of fires in the summer. Also a lot of floods in the winter. This is not the norm here, but it seems that the climate crisis is here to stay.

I live in a place in Northern Greece (in Macedonia) which is about 150 km from the coast, at 800 meters altitude I have seen in Google maps that the lattitude here is the same as in Northern California or Nevada in USA. In the last decades, this place was considered one of the coldest places in this country, with temperatures in winter below zero Celsius, and a lot of snow during the winter, but in the last 10-15 years it snows only once or twice, but not much. As I said, the climate crisis is here.

In my free time (which I do not have much) I like doing either building work or dealing with machines. l also like, like you, spending time with plants and flowers.
